Disney World has been making quite a few changes recently!
From the EPCOT transformation to the addition of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at Magic Kingdom to the various hotel renovations around the property, there’s a lot of construction going on. And now we’ve got an opening timeline for one of the most highly-anticipated construction projects!
Currently, Disney is in the middle of transforming the cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. The cabins are getting full makeovers and will become Disney Vacation Club properties. We’ve already gotten a sneak peek at what they’ll look like…but when will they open?
Well, the Disney Vacation Club website now reveals that the first set of cabins is projected to open on July 1st, 2024! A second loop of cabins will open later in the month, followed by more throughout the year.
If you want to book a stay at one of these cabins, there are some important dates you need to know. First, Disney Vacation Club sales for The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort open to existing members on February 1st. On February 15th, Disney Vacation Club Members who have added on points at The Cabins can begin to book their stays.
Disney Vacation Club sales for The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort open to the general public on February 27th, and then on March 12th, new Disney Vacation Club Members whose home resort is The Cabins can begin booking online. As of Tuesday, April 23rd, all DVC members will be able to book stays.
Disney will release more information about when the general public can book cabin stays at a later date, so we’ll keep you in the loop! In the meantime, take a look at the floor plan below.

The Cabins are the ONLY place my family stays! But now that they’ve decided that people like us aren’t good enough to stay there…we can’t afford to own a time share…. I guess we won’t be going to WDW anymore…unless we can afford our own camper! But I suspect that the campsites will be transformed into more cabins! Thank goodness there are many great places that we can go to and enjoy camping and still go to Theme parks! So Long Disney!
