FIRST LOOK Inside Disney’s NEW Cruise Ship – The Treasure

It’s finally time!

©Disney

Disney has given us an inside look at their newest ship, the Disney Treasure. We’ve been hearing hints about this new cruise ship for months and keeping up with all the latest news, but now we finally have our first look INSIDE the new ship!

Disney revealed prototype videos of the inside of parts of the ship earlier this year, but now we get to see what will be inside the ship. Are you ready? Let’s get to it!

Ship Exterior

The outside of the ship is a classic white with Disney accent colors of red, yellow, and black. Everything is sleek, modern, and very up-to-date.

©Disney

We hope to see more photos of the ship itself as more parts get put into place.

©Disney

We know how big the Disney Wish is, and the Treasure promises to be just as majestic and full of adventure!

Atrium

The atrium of the ship is referred to as The Grand Hall and is perhaps the most stunning part, with rich, deep greens and blues and gold accents. There’s a grand staircase (of course!) with a golden statue of Aladdin and Jasmine soaring on Magic Carpet at the base. The center of the room is home to a massive (and beautiful) chandelier.

©Disney

The Grand Hall emanates mysticism and the rich colors of an exotic adventure, inviting guests to seek all the treasures on board from the moment they step onboard. Inspired by the real-world influences from Asia and Africa, the Treasures pays homage to the far-off land of Agrabah from Walt Disney Animation Studios’ classic tale, Aladdin. The center of the room is home to a massive (and beautiful) chandelier.

©Disney

This is also the first Disney Cruise Line atrium to feature its own stage. At the Grand Hall Stage, guests will gather for theatrical performances throughout the day — you never know what you’re going to find!

©Disney

The stage will even be transformed with special effects from day to night. Doesn’t that sound cool?!

Activities

The Treasure has the AquaMouse water coaster, too. It’s more than just a water slide; it’s a full-blown water attraction!

©Disney

AquaMouse will take you into the world of Mickey Mouse shorts, complete with show scenes, lighting, and special effects.

©Disney

While the Wish’s AquaMouse is themed with a story around called “Scuba Scramble,” the Treasure will have its own unique animated story. “Curse of the Golden Egg” will introduce an all-new storyline to its existing lineup that follows Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse on a zany misadventure into an ancient temple.

©Disney

This wild water ride will take you 760 feet around the upper deck!

The Disney Treasure will also be home to a Toy Story splash zone — the place for your kids to play and cool off at the same time!

©Disney

Kiddos will be able to enjoy the reimagined Disney’s Oceaneers Club, with three different themed areas to play in. The first is the Marvel Superhero Academy, where kids can choose their own superhero suit and put it to the test, hanging out with their favorite heroes along the way.

©Disney

There’s also the Fairytale Hall section of the club, where you can visit Rapunzel’s art studio, Belle’s library, and Elsa and Anna’s summer house. Here, you can read, paint, or play with beloved princesses.

©Disney

Finally, there’s the Star Wars: Cargo Bay, where kids can learn about all the exotic creatures and legendary characters and try their hand at  Star Wars creature care-taking!

©Disney

And for activities that the whole family can enjoy, make sure to head to the pool on the upper deck. There, you’ll find a poolside stage with a jumbo screen that will play movies and sporting events. Throughout the day and night, Disney characters and performers will take to the stage for brand new deck parties.

Just like its sister ship, The Wish, there’s also going to be a Hero Zone. What do you do in the sports arena-themed area? Well, you go on “action-packed physical challenges themed to some of Disney’s most incredible heroes.”

©Disney

And in the evening, the Disney Treasure will have its own specially-created fireworks show. That sounds like the perfect way to end the night!

Entertainment

If the fireworks caught your attention, then you need to hear about the other entertainment options around the ship! On the Disney Treasure, the Walt Disney Theatre is the theatrical palace that hosts original Broadway-style productions developed exclusively for Disney Cruise Line by world-class creative teams. “Beauty and the Beast,” the fan-favorite Broadway-style musical, and “Disney Seas the Adventure,” an original musical spectacular, will take the stage at the Walt Disney Theatre aboard Disney Treasure voyages.

©Disney

At this stage, you’ll find two new original shows created especially for the Treasure, as well as one that’s being reimagined. We can’t wait to watch the new Disney Seas the Adventure, “an original musical spectacular that features beloved characters from Disney and Pixar stories alongside rousing renditions of iconic Disney songs. The voyage begins when Captain Minnie hands over the helm to her dear friend Goofy as he sets sail into uncharted waters on a journey to discover his own inner captain.”

©Disney

The ship will also be home to TWO cinemas named Wonderland and Neverland. Here, you’ll find Disney Premieres at Sea, where guests can watch Disney movie premieres on the day that they are released. (And sometimes even earlier!)

©Disney

Similar to Luna on the Wish, the Treasure has its own “entertainment hub” called Sarabi, themed to an African savanna and named after the matriarchal lioness from the Lion King, Simba’s royal mother.

©Disney

Sarabi will be home to a two-story screen wall and will feature a stage, bar, and seating. At night, it’ll host live shows and interactive events.

Dining

Brand new and unique to the Treasure is Plaza de CocoIn this dinner show, your favorite characters will greet you AND perform for you while you dine! Dine in the vibrant town of Santa Cecilia and experience the world’s first theatrical dining experience themed to the Disney and Pixar film Coco.

©Disney

According to Disney, “Miguel and his familia will take guests on a colorful, music-filled journey that celebrates treasured family memories and togetherness with a festive dinner menu that offers a modern twist on traditional Mexican fare and a lineup of live entertainment.”

©Disney

We can’t wait to learn more!

And speaking of unique dining experiences, there’s going to be a Marvel one as well! Those who eat at Worlds of Marvel will actively participate in an Avengers mission. Even though we’ve seen this concept in action on the Disney Wish, the Treasure will have its own unique Marvel mission. Spider-Man will call upon his fellow Avengers — YOU — for backup when an unexpected villain invades the ship in search of powerful quantum technology.

For a more traditional dinner, head on over to the new Disney-themed restaurant, 1923. This spot celebrates Walt Disney Animation through the years in the Walt Disney and Roy Disney dining rooms. The menu is filled with California-inspired dishes, considering that’s where the Walt Disney Company was founded nearly 100 years ago.

Besides these experiences, you’ll also be able to have a gourmet meal or an adult beverage at Palo Steakhouse, Enchanté by Chef Arnaud Lallement, and The Rose (inspired by Beauty and the Beast).

©Disney

The sweetshop, Jumbeaux’s Sweets, will be reminiscent of the popular ice
cream parlor, Jumbeaux Café, from Disney’s Zootopia. True to its name, this sweet spot is practically candy-coated in pink with Victorian-style architecture and a sculpture of Officer Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde. You can choose from a selection of more than 35 flavors of handmade gelato, ice cream, sorbets, specialty treats, candies, and other sweet items.

©Disney

Similar to the Disney Wish, the Treasure’s buffet location is Marceline Market, which will be a food hall aboard the Disney Treasure inspired by popular cuisines from around the world. The revolving menu will offer a wide variety every day and provide sweeping ocean views from both indoor and outdoor seating.

Marceline Market

And for quick bites by the pool or while you lounge on a deck chair, you can explore the wide variety of Mickey & Friends Festival of Foods.

ADULTS

Take part in a brand new adventure at Skipper Society. This mysterious adult outpost is filled with little nods to the iconic Jungle Cruise attraction at Disney theme parks around the globe. At Skipper Society, guests will indulge in themed cocktails and light snacks.

©Disney

The second unique adult lounge on the Treasure is the Periscope Pub. This is the first venue inspired by the spellbinding adventure of Walt Disney’s 1954 film, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, and the legacy Disney Parks attraction. The submarine-styled interiors will give guests a look at the watery world below through an intriguing glass ceiling.

©Disney

Hook’s Barbery has a location on the Treasure as well as the Wish for a spot for a clean shave, a quick trim, and maybe a spot of rum.

Hook’s Barbery

The Disney Treasure also announced a location called the Heihei Café. It will be themed after Moana’s adventure in the South Pacific to save her island, Motunui. The design is inspired by traditional construction techniques used by the Polynesian people to craft seafaring vessels.

Pua and Hei Hei

Heihei Café is named for Moana’s trusty sidekick and offers an idyllic place for guests to energize their morning, regardless of how far they go during their next adventure. This might be an option similar to Maurice’s Mechanical Marvels on the Wish.

And if specialty coffee is on your treasure map, then you’ll need to seek out the Jade Cricket Cafe. Jade Cricket Café is inspired by Mulan’s “lucky” cricket, Cri-Kee, sidekick. You can spot a tiny jade sculpture on the bar top in his likeness. The whole cafe is imbued with symbols of Mulan’s strength, beauty, and heritage. Even the blue walls and glimmering metallic counters are reminiscent of Mulan’s armor.

©Disney

This spot seems similar to the Wishing Star Cafe on the Wish, which is inspired by another cricket friend.

You’ll also find some of the Disney Cruise Line classics that adults have come to love, like Quiet Cove, Palo, Enchanté, and The Rose.

Staterooms and Suites

And last but not least, let’s take a look at where you’ll be staying! The ship offers three major categories of accommodations, the first being regular staterooms.

©Disney

The ship is home to 1256 staterooms, 90% of which are outside staterooms. 948 of those outside rooms are verandah rooms, while the other 185 are a regular oceanview.  There will be 53 concierge staterooms and 23 concierge suites as well. There are elegant Disney touches all around to discover, and the themes vary from room to room.

©Disney

For those who want something a tad fancier, go for concierge or premium accommodations. Disney Treasure’s concierge-level suites will feature elegant interiors inspired by the majestic grasslands from The Lion King. The design will feature themed artwork, mosaics, and textiles, and the staterooms and suites will offer an exclusive concierge lounge with a private sun deck.

©Disney

Those who stay here have access to an exclusive lounge with a sun deck, but each room also has floor-to-ceiling windows with spectacular views of the ocean — you may not even want to leave!

Last but not least, there are also four royal suites that you could choose from. They’re especially elegant! These suites pay tribute to the faithful feline companions of daring Disney characters. The upscale designs will include the Bagheera Royal Suites, honoring the noble panther from The Jungle Book and the lush forests he calls home.

©Disney

The Rajah Royal Suites are themed to Princess Jasmine’s protective tiger who dwells in the royal palace of Agrabah in the classic Disney film Aladdin.

©Disney

And for the ultimate cruise accommodations, you can book the Tomorrowland Tower Suite.  It is especially stunning, with LED-lit ceilings, bunk beds, and technology features that will take you through the adventure of the future!

©Disney

The floor-to-ceiling windows promise to offer amazing views no matter where you’re sailing, and even though this ship is full of gorgeous treasures, it might be hard to decide to leave your room!
