7 Things We Were Surprised Were Free in Disney World

Believe it or not, there are FREE things you can do and get inside Disney World.

Disney public transportation is free!

Yes, we know you’ve already bought your ticket to get in, so you could argue that these activities have *some* fee, BUT you’ve already bought the ticket, so why not take advantage of all the included experiences you can? Listen, even though we go to Disney World every day, we try to find the best ways to make the most of our ticket moneyhere are the 7 things we were SUPER surprised to find are free in Disney World!

Parking (in certain circumstances)

Yes, we did say in certain circumstances, BUT having any free parking in Disney World is a pretty big deal! First off, general Disney Springs parking is free for all guests.

Orange Garage

Now, you can’t get to the parks from Disney Springs using public Disney transportation, so you can’t park for free to get to the parks. However, if you’re staying at a Disney World hotel or are a Disney World Annual Passholder, you get to park for free at the parks during your stay!

Parking at Disney World hotels is also free for guests staying at the resort! This was a recent change that began in January of this year, and we are NOT complaining.

A Pirates Adventure and KidCot

Are your kiddos looking for a hands-on activity to keep them occupied in the park? Completely for free, you can play A Pirates Adventure in Magic Kingdom, which is an entire scavenger hunt Captain Jack Sparrow puts you on that takes you around Adventureland.

Pirates Adventure

The best part? There are five different quests you can go on, so you have to play multiple times to get the whole experience. It’s a great activity for the whole family, but especially for those who love pirates.

In EPCOT, your kids can collect KidCot cards from every country in the World Showcase!

KidCot Fun Stop cards

Each stop has a coloring activity for the kids to do as they collect their cards, or to do later. It’s also a great opportunity for the kids to chat with representatives of those countries about their experiences — it’s not just coloring, it’s educational!

Club Cool

Did you know you can taste sodas all around the world in EPCOT for FREE? Head on over to Club Cool!

Club Cool

Club Cool is located in World Celebration in the park, and you can try different soda flavors from all around the world for zero dollars.

Club Cool Flavors

If you really wanna mess with someone, tell them Beverly is the best flavor (spoiler alert: most people can’t stand it, but most other flavors are delicious)!

Animation Classes

If you’ve got an artist in the family, or are just looking for a really unique free souvenir, hop on over to the Conservation Station in Animal Kingdom for their professional sketch classes called the Animation Experience!

A professional artist will take the group step by step through the process of drawing a Disney character!

Animation Experience

You’ll get to take the drawing home with you, and all drawing materials are provided at the event. It happens a few times a day and takes up a good chunk of time though, so keep that in mind as you’re planning your day.

A Campfire Sing-Along with Chip and Dale

Ever wanted to sit down at a literal campfire sing-along with Chip and Dale? You can over at Fort Wilderness Resort, completely for free!

Campfire Sing Along

At this event, Cast Members and Chip and Dale will lead the group in a fun sing-along of your favorite Disney and campfire songs.

However, you will need to bring your own s’mores supplies (or you can buy a kit there). But if you just want to sit and enjoy the vibes, there’s no cost!

Nighttime Concerts at EPCOT

If you’re a big fan of concerts, you can head over to EPCOT during one of their four festivals during the year to check out what artists they have performing during the evenings!

Eat To The Beat concert series

Some of them are pretty popular too, which makes it even more exciting that you can enjoy their music for no additional charge.

Garden Rocks

The bands perform over at the America Gardens Theater in the America Pavilion. While you can purchase dining packages during some festivals, many times it’s not necessary — you can find a good seat without one.

Pixie Dusting

Want to really feel the magic in Magic Kingdom? You can head over to Sir Mickey’s and get pixie dusted for FREE!

Sir Mickey’s

Pixie Dusting is when a Cast Member asks you to close your eyes and make a wish while they sprinkle you with pixie dust (which yes, looks a lot like glitter, and it will get EVERYWHERE).

Head inside to get Pixie Dusted!

Don’t misunderstand us — this will get all over the place, but it’s so magical, and it’s for people of all ages, not just kids.
