It has happened! Trail’s End Restaurant — located at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground — has reopened!
The restaurant closed earlier in 2023 and it was revealed that its table service option would be going away entirely and the restaurant would be reimagined with an expanded marketplace concept. Disney officially announced that the restaurant would reopen on July 27th, but it had a soft opening on July 26th that we were able to experience. So, grab a snack or prepare for a grumbling tummy ’cause we’re heading to the REVAMPED Trail’s End and taking YOU with us!
As we noted, Trail’s End Restaurant has been totally reimagined with a fresh interior and NEW menu items too.

In terms of the decor of the restaurant, things have been refreshed. While it keeps the charm of the resort and campgrounds, things also look a bit more spruced up.
There are some wooden furnishings…
…beamed ceilings…
…rustic accents…
…and some wilderness-inspired decor to look at.
The seating area feels pretty nice and open, with a variety of tables and chairs.
There were a decent amount of chairs and tables available.
In terms of the marketplace area, you’ll find a grab-and-go portion in the center with a few different items, including some pastries.
Other items in this center portion include your basic candy bars…
…and fruits.
If you’re looking for hot food, there’s an entire grab-and-go station dedicated to that too.
Here, you’ll find things like a bag with 8 pieces of fried chicken and a pecan-smoked whole chicken. You can pick these up and feed the WHOLE family.
There is also pecan-smoked brisket (one pound), 10-hour smoked pulled pork (one pound), bread pudding…
…green beans, macaroni and cheese, cowboy beans, mashed potatoes…
…and a whole rack of ribs. Again, these are in the to-go section so it’s quick and easy to pick up whatever your family wants and then either eat it in the restaurant or take it back to your cabin, tent, RV, etc. and enjoy it there. The items are all in fairly substantial portion sizes, making them easy to share with the whole group.
But wait…there’s more!
There were refrigerated cases with other items to get as well, like desserts (including a lemon-blueberry trifle, banana pudding, and strawberry shortcake), fruit cups, apples, yogurt, hard-boiled eggs, and cupcakes.
There were also some more entree-style options here like salads, sandwiches, and items for the kiddos.
These cases also hold a variety of drinks — everything from energy drinks to cold brew coffee and milk is available.
And, of course, there are plenty of soda bottles to pick from too.
Looking for more food to grab? Hand-scooped ice cream is available here in a cup or waffle cone.
For those who love pizza, there is an on-stage pizza station at the restaurant now. You can order items by the slice or get an entire pie.
The pizza options include 2 NEW ones — a smokehouse-style pizza (topped with house-smoked brisket, sausage, and pepperoni) and a roasted vegetable pie. Pepperoni and cheese pizzas are available too.
S’mores kits can be purchased here as well. They include crackers, marshmallows, chocolate, and roasting sticks so you can have a sweet ending to your day.
Disney has also indicated that you’ll be able to order classics like cheeseburgers, plant-based vegetable burgers, chicken nuggets, and french fries. Plus, Disney has shared that specialty coffees are available here — like the Wilderness Lattee (with hazelnut and chocolate flavors).
Other items Disney has mentioned that are available at the revamped Trail’s End include:
- Fort Fruity Cookie featuring fruity cereal and white chocolate chips
- Peanut Butter and Jelly Cupcake
- S’more Cupcake
- S’mores Cookie
- Homestyle Meals that feature cornbread, coleslaw, and mashed potatoes with gravy and your choice of half a slab of barbecued ribs or two pieces of fried chicken
If you’re looking to toast or warm up any items, we spotted a toaster and microwave available.
Plus, there is an entire area for mobile order pick-up.
And you can stop by the drinks station to get coffee, sodas, and more.
