The Trick to Waiting Only 25 Minutes for Flight of Passage in Disney World

Pssst — we’ve got a secret. Okay, maybe it’s not exactly a secret if we’re sharing it on the internet, but either way, you’re going to want to listen up.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom has some of our favorite attractions!

Some of Disney’s most popular attractions can end up with mega-long lines and high wait times. But you’ve got a busy day ahead of you in the parks, and you probably don’t have 2+ hours to stand around waiting in line. So what do you do?

You plan ahead with the help of AllEars, of course! Luckily, we’ve got a hot tip for Disney World guests hoping to ride Fight of Passage in Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

Flight of Passage

Let’s be honest; Fight of Passage is one of the coolest, most immersive attractions in Disney World — but is any ride really worth an hour-plus wait?

The Flight of Passage line gets LONG!

Throughout the day, we’ve seen the wait time for Flight of Passage creep up higher and higher, which discourages many people from hopping in line (and we don’t blame them!). But there are some instances when Disney might be, well, lying.

Flight of Passage also has a Lightning Lane, though!

Let’s say that Disney’s Animal Kingdom is closing at 8PM. That also means that the line for Flight of Passage will close promptly at 8PM. Our advice? Hop in line as close to 8PM as possible (or whatever time the park is closing)! Just make sure to get in the queue before Cast Members close the line!

Wait until the end of the day!

If you’re in the area around the time that the park is closing, you may notice that the wait time is posted at 45 minutes, for example (or higher!). Well, the truth is that Disney often inflates the wait times at the end of the night, so you may end up waiting way less time than the posted standby wait.

The wait times aren’t always 100% accurate…

In our experience, we’ve been able to make it through the Flight of Passage queue in less than 25 minutes at the very end of the night — a sharp contrast to the 45-minute sign by the entrance! This rule isn’t totally foolproof, but we have had several successful experiences using this tip!

It makes sense that Disney would want guests to leave as soon as possible when the park closes; Cast Members need time to clean up and prepare for the next day, after all! But if you’re trying to avoid an excessively long line, you just might have better luck at the end of the day.

Animal Kingdom at night

If you’re more of a morning person, you can also try your luck at rope-dropping Flight of Passage bright and early when the park opens.

This could be the longest line you stand in early in the morning if you rope drop the parks!

Make sure to get to the park as early as possible; it takes a long time to park your car, walk to security, enter the park, and walk (that’s right — no running!) to your favorite attraction. The earlier you arrive, the better chance you have of being one of the first guests in line.

  1. Rope dropping is stupid… In order to actually beat the crowd, you’ve got to be *at least* an hour early… so you’re gonna wait for an hour outside the park just to avoid waiting for an hour inside the park? Lol don’t bother
