We’ve shared all kinds of updates about the Brightline train in the past — from a first look at the Orlando Airport station to news about a potential station “near” Disney World and updates about the train’s path through Orlando. But now we know much tickets will cost for the train’s path to the Orlando Airport and we know when tickets will go on sale — here’s what you need to know.

When Tickets Go on Sale

Brightline already has a train path in Florida with stations in Miami, Aventura, Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton, and West Palm Beach, but soon there will be another stop at Orlando International Airport.

Brightline has announced that tickets for the route between Miami and Orlando will go on sale in May for future dates. They’ve also noted that “Corporate travel packages are available for presale now.”

Pricing

How much will your ticket cost? Well, it depends. Brightline has announced that one-way fares will start at $79 for SMART and $149 for PREMIUM. But there will also be SMART fare bundles for families of four that will be less than $199 one way.

If you’re wondering what SMART and PREMIUM mean, Brightline offers those as its two classes of service. PREMIUM includes complimentary meals, snacks, and beverages, a dedicated first-class lounge, free checked luggage, priority boarding, and a dedicated coach.

Length of Time to Travel

How long will it take you to get from Orlando to Miami? That’s a good question! There will be nonstop trains that’ll connect Orlando to Miami in 2 hours and 59 minutes.

If you hop on a regular service train, which stops at the other South Florida stations, then it’ll take 3 hours and 30 minutes.

If you just want to go between Orlando and West Palm Beach that’ll take about 2 hours.

The Orlando Airport Station

In terms of the station itself, we shared a first look inside already but let’s take a closer peek at what it’ll offer. The station is 37,350 square feet in size and is next to Terminal C. It connects directly to Parking Garage C for the airport, and within that parking garage you’ll find “more than 350 parking spaces branded for Brightline guests.”

Once you’re inside the station, you’ll be able to buy a ticket from guest services or get your ticket from a self-service kiosk.

Then, it’s time to check your luggage before heading through the touchless turnstiles and onto the security screening.

Here’s a look at ticketing and security.

Once you’re through this area, you’ll go into the 2-story station space with all kinds of amenities. You’ll find a bar called Mary Mary Bar that will have hand-crafted cocktails and light bites.

©Brightline

What’s especially cool is that the bar has a view of the train platforms so you can watch as the trains arrive and depart.

Above the bar is a message board that’ll be able to rotate and form messages. It’s meant to be a nod to old train stations. That message board might show train schedules, news, or other announcements.

Next up is MRKT PLACE which will offer “last-minute gifts, sundries and refreshments.”

©Brightline

So if you need a snack or souvenir before you ride, this will be the place to stop.

©Brightline

Throughout the station, you’ll find “high-speed Wi-Fi, charging stations at every seat, 87 big screen televisions and a BrightKids children’s play area located in the SMART lounge.”

Here’s another peek inside that SMART lounge.

Once you’re ready to board your train, you’ll go on an escalator or elevator to the first-level platforms.

©Brightline

The platforms are each as long as the Eiffel Tower and you’ll find that the station is illuminated by spotlights used in movie studios.

©Brightline

In terms of other facts, there are a variety of custom drinks within the PREMIUM Lounge.

©Brightline

Here’s a peek at what that PREMIUM Lounge looks like.

There are seating areas in it, as well as a drinks and snacks station.

What’s ON the Train?

In terms of the trains themselves, there are leather seats, free high-speed Wi-Fi, and charging ports. There will be some meals, snacks, and beverages available for purchase onboard (complimentary with PREMIUM tickets).

And you’ll find racks so you can bring carry-on items. Plus, the restrooms offer a hands-free experience, and the trains are “fully ADA-accessible with level boarding to accommodate wheelchairs, strollers, and wheeled bags.”

  1. The price is doable for one person but gets too expensive trying to bring the family along. You can travel from Miami to Orlando on Amtrak for less than 45 dollars. Granted it takes longer.

  2. $80 per leg x 2 legs (round trip) x 3 family members = $480. Will easily pass $500 after taxes and fees. The prices for these tickets make this, unfortunately, a hard pass. It’s cheaper (and faster) to fly. It’s cheaper to drive at $4 per gallon. I don’t see the benefit. It’s a shame because I love trains and would use this service for every trip to Orlando if it wasn’t so expensive.

  3. Way too expensive. My daughter lives in West Palm. We live just outside Orlando 162 miles one way to OIA station. Brightline plans to charge $80 one way! That’s .50 a mile! Greyhound Bus charges $25 for the same trip. This is not going to work at these prices. She could also fly cheaper. So disappointed.

  4. Absolutely, will be driving to and from S Fla for next 3 weeks and will lose 8 hours of computer productivity a week and spend about the same money w/fuel at nearly $4 a gallon.

  5. Same hours to get to Miami if I use my car. And it would cost me $80 for gas ROUND TRIP instead of one way. This train is a joke. Fast trains in other countries run 300 mph. And we got 1st fast train in America that goes 3 times slower. Big disappointment…

  6. I commend the team for bringing this European style mode of transportation to the MCO Airport. It is a much needed improvement for travelers, whether they are commuting, attending a special event and wanting to travel hands free to the South of Florida, (Miami), or FT Lauderdale or West Palm Beach. I understand the stations are based in areas very much full of restaurants, entertainment, and there are shuttles to take you to your favorite place. I am planning for that first trial trip to West Palm Beach, then Ft Lauderdale, ( hi Las Olas Boulevard!!!), and Finally Maimi for that cuban Dinner and show, and sports event, ( here we come Miami Dolphins!). Fantastic…..
