In 2021, Disneyland introduced a new annual pass program called Magic Key Pass.
After passes went on sale in August of 2021, sales were paused for all of the new annual passes in May of 2022. Ever since the new system was introduced, there have been lawsuits surrounding the passes and renewals became available for current passholders after months of waiting. But now, Magic Key passes will be available to buy again for the first time in months.
We chatted with a Cast Member who confirmed that Magic Key Passes will be going on sale today at 9AM PT.
These are the passes and prices at which they will be available:
- Inspire Key — $1599
- Believe Key — $1099
- Imagine Key (SoCal residents only) — $449
Currently the Enchant Key, which costs $699 is only available for renewal.
The waiting room is already set up for Magic Key Passes on the Disney website — this page popped up saying “you will automatically be added to the queue when it opens.”
When we went to the Magic Key renewals page, this message came up. It also says that the queue to purchase Magic Key passes will open soon.
The Cast Member we spoke to warned that pass availability is limited and different passes may be unavailable at any time. If you want to buy a Magic Key pass, head to Disneyland’s website so you can get into the virtual queue when it opens at 9AM PT.
As we touched on above, Disney began selling Magic Key Passes on August 25th, 2021 and there were the four tiered passes listed above.The Dream Key was the most expensive option and quickly sold out, followed by the Believe Key. Soon enough, in May 2022 Disney stopped selling new Enchant and Imagine Keys as well, meaning that no Magic Key Passes were being sold at all. This is the first time since May that there have been new sales.
