The Walt Disney Company is celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2023, which we found out more details about during D23 Expo.
But, Disney just announced even MORE about the celebrations at Disneyland Resort! Disney 100 Years of Wonder will be “the largest cross-company global celebration in the 100-year history of The Walt Disney Company,” according to Disney. All of the Disney Parks around the world will celebrate, but the heart of the celebration will be at Disneyland Resort. And, we just found out the DATE of when the festivities will kick off!
The celebration will officially begin on January 27, 2023. There will be special limited-time offerings throughout the resort ALL YEAR LONG! Let’s check out some of the details about the celebrations.
Disneyland will get new platinum-infused décor throughout the resort, as well as new sparkling looks for Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse, and their pals, too! There will also be special food and beverage offerings, merchandise, and more.
Sleeping Beauty Castle will also be getting a bit of a makeover! There will be platinum banners and bunting, among other decor.

There will also be two all-new nighttime spectaculars, which were announced at D23 Expo. World of Color – One at Disney California Adventure park, which will celebrate the storytelling legacy started by Walt Disney. It will It will also feature a new original song, “Start a Wave.”
The other new show is over at Disneyland park. Wondrous Journeys will be a new nighttime spectacular that will feature nods to every Walt Disney Animation Studios film to date, and turn Main Street, U.S.A., Sleeping Beauty Castle, the façade of “it’s a small world,” and the Rivers of America into an artist’s canvas that brings characters to life all around you. This new show will have fireworks too on select nights, and feature a new song, “It’s Wondrous.”
But, that’s not all! We also found out that Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway will open EARLY for the celebrations — it will be open on January 27th, which is before Mickey’s Toontown actually reopens (which is happening in the spring of 2023).
The Magic Happens parade will also return to Disneyland park for the celebrations. And, even more special entertainment moments are slated to pop up across the resort, says Disney.
Cast Members at Disneyland will be some of the first to experience these new offerings, as there will be #DisneyCastLife opportunities at the start of the celebration.

We hope to take our barely 4 year old grandson to Disneyland this Wednesday. He will be visiting his grandma for the first time from St. Louis Missouri. He has had a fever earlier this week so we are not sure he will be better by time to travel flying on the airline tomorrow. I purchased tickets for all the grownups that are confirmed. Plus the parking pass is purchased. We all have reservations except him. As soon as I know if he can come, I plan to purchase the ticket for the little one.
