Though Disneyland Resort has three hotels that are just steps away from the two park entrances, they’re not the only places to stay when you’re on vacation!
In fact, staying at an off-site Disneyland Resort hotel can offer you more space and more amenities at half the price. Plus, thanks to Disneyland’s location in Anaheim, you’ll still be within a 3-10 minute walk from the parks! So, whether you’re looking for something a bit more budget-friendly or just want more options, these hotels have you covered!
These are the best off-site Disneyland area hotels to consider for your trip!
Element by Westin
Element by Westin is one of the newest hotels to open near Disneyland Resort, welcoming guests for the first time in July 2021. It is located about a 10-minute walk from the main entrance to Disneyland, plus it is also on a bus route serviced by Anaheim Resort Transportation (or ART) so you can pay a small fee to bypass the walk to and from the hotel if you’d prefer.
There are a variety of room types to choose from here, with one-bedroom suites, rooms with separate living and sleeping areas, and even kids’ suites that include bunk beds. And, because of its proximity to Disneyland, you can pay a little bit more to get a theme park view and have your very own private view of fireworks during your stay.
If you’re a member of the Marriott Loyalty Program, then this can be a great option for your Disneyland vacation because you can actually use your Marriott points to stay here!
JW Marriott
Located only about a 5-10 minute walk away from Disneyland Resort’s entrance is the newest AAA Four-Diamond hotel in Anaheim — the JW Marriott, Anaheim Resort. Not only will you be treated to luxury amenities, fine dining, and an upscale ambiance, the JW Marriott also hosts a variety of special events throughout the year geared towards Disneyland visitors like a Candlelight Concert Experience, an AR experience, and a butterfly wall.
Plus, the JW Marriott is also home to the Parkestry Rooftop Bar where you can find a great view of Disneyland’s fireworks and order up a one-of-a-kind Disney-themed drink that is topped with a hidden Mickey — just ask for the Angel Spritz!

Howard Johnson by Wyndham
Want to stay somewhere that has almost as much character as Disney’s hotels? The Howard Johnson by Wyndham is even closer to Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure (about an 8-minute walk) and is uniquely themed to give guests a mid-century modern feel.
The rooms are built to accommodate up to five guests and feature subtle vintage Disney touches so that you’ll still feel like you’re on a Disney vacation even though you’re not at a Disney hotel. And, if you want something even more unique, you can choose to stay in a suite that is themed after some of Disneyland’s original attractions.

Courtyard by Marriott
Looking for something even closer to Disneyland? The Courtyard by Marriott Theme Park Entrance is just steps away from the parks and is ideal for families.
It is one of the only hotels to offer two queen beds AND a bunk bed in just about every room. Plus the rooms include TWO showers (one walk-in and one with a tub) so that you can master your bedtime or morning routine with kids. Oh, and there’s a water park here too!

I’d take Tropicana over hojo personally. Closer, clean and good price points for people who are in it for full park days. They’ve been amazing to us.
Just be aware that the bar on top of the JW Marriott is NOT open on Sunday nights – which are fireworks nights. I found that out after booking and thankfully was able to change to the Westin whose rooftop bar IS open on Sunday nights.
