Which Magic Kingdom Resort Hotel is the BEST?

Trying to decide where to stay on your Disney World vacation? There are lots of options! But if you’ve narrowed it down to the Magic Kingdom area, you may be wondering which hotel in that part of property is the best.

Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort

Well, there’s no one-size-fits-all answer! But we can break down each resort so you can figure out which is best for you.

And of course, we used our AllEars readers’ reviews to help!

4. Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa

Our last-place rank for Magic Kingdom hotels, according to our readers, is Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa. It was rated an 8.46/10!

Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort

While all the Magic Kingdom Resorts are in the Deluxe tier, the Grand Floridian is the epitome of luxury. The atmosphere inside is great; the theming is impeccable. and there’s often a live pianist in the lobby. But with that luxury comes a cost! The rooms here are some of the most expensive on property, with a standard room ranging from $642-989 a night.

However, there are quite a few perks. First is the Grand Floridian Walkway, which enables you to walk straight to Magic Kingdom! It is a bit of a walk, topping 20 minutes, but it’s a good alternative to Disney transportation. And if you do want to take that transportation, the Grand Floridian connects to Magic Kingdom by monorail or boat

While this tends to be a “bucket list hotel” for many Disney World visitors, our readers did warn that the rooms can feel a bit outdated. Luckily, the rooms received a refresh, so maybe more people will give it a try now!

3. Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort

In third place is Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, with an AllEars reader ranking of 8.63/10!

Polynesian Village Resort

It has fantastic tropical theming, a volcano pool, and your own sandy beach to enjoy. Plus, you can snack on Dole Whip (including spiked options) here! And when Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto is open, you have access to one of the most popular bars on property, too.

We’ll always take some Dole Whip!

Like the Grand Floridian, the Polynesian is connected to Magic Kingdom by monorail or boat. You can also walk, but you’d have to walk over to the Grand Floridian first and then hop on the Grand Floridian Walkway. So that adds a little extra time.

The rooms here are pricey, too, but not quite as expensive as the Grand Floridian. If you want to splurge even more, you can opt to stay in the Bungalows! They’re built over the water of Seven Seas Lagoon.

2. Disney’s Contemporary Resort

On to number two! Disney’s Contemporary Resort takes second place with an AllEars reader rating of 9.05/10.

Disney’s Contemporary Resort

This hotel is so iconic because the monorail glides right through it! This Resort is also the closest to Magic Kingdom. You can walk there in a matter of minutes! Of course, you can also hop on the monorail for a quick ride.

You’ll also notice that the rooms at the Contemporary are huge, so if you want space to spread out, this is a great choice! Lastly, the Contemporary is home to California Grill, a popular signature restaurant. It’s on the top floor and boasts some incredible views including of the Magic Kingdom fireworks.

However, the ‘contemporary’ theming may not feel quite as warm or “Disney” as some other options. The main tower rooms recently got an Incredibles-themed makeover, which adds a bit of character, but is less obvious than other resort rooms. That may be something to keep in mind if you’re visiting with little ones.

1. Disney’s Wilderness Lodge

At number one is Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, with a ranking of 9.11/10! This hotel is incredibly immersive; there are authentic Pacific Northwest Artifacts on display, a real geyser that shoots off several times a day, and a super cool pool. Plus, there’s a waterfall out back!

If you take the quick bus (or walk!) over to Disney’s Fort Wilderness, there are lots of recreational activities, too! You can kayak, ride horses, take archery lessons, and so much more. There’s so much to do that you could spend an entire day (or more!) exploring the property. Our readers mention that they often take a special trip to visit even when they’re not staying here, just because they love it so much.

And while Wilderness Lodge is a Deluxe Resort, it’s cheaper than the Magic Kingdom area alternatives. A standard room here ranges from $369-$709 per night.

This is the only Magic Kingdom hotel that doesn’t have walking access to the park, though, so you’ll want to keep that in mind. It also isn’t on the monorail line. However, you can take a bus or boat!
