ALERT! Disney’s Critter Country Land CLOSURE Starts Tomorrow

Bad news if you were planning to visit this Disneyland land anytime soon…

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure under construction at Disneyland

Later this year, Disneyland will see the highly-anticipated opening of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, the refurbishment of Splash Mountain that will retime the ride to focus on The Princess and the Frog’s titular heroine. In conjunction with the ride’s opening, two new themed stores are also debuting: Ray’s Berets and Louis’ Critter Club. However, all this construction means a temporary closure is on the horizon.

Beginning on May 1st, Disneyland’s Critter Country will be almost completely closed so that the new stores can be constructed while work on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is completed. The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh — housed in the show building that formerly housed The Country Bear Jamboree, the original anchor of the land when it originally opened as Bear Country — will be closed for the duration of this closure as well, though no changes are expected to come to the attraction.

Critter Country is closing… for a while.

However, one popular element of the land will remain open: The Hungry Bear restaurant. The popular eatery will continue serving customers, which makes sense since the restaurant is right on the main pathway between the rest of the park and Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.

As of now, there’s no announced reopening date for Critter Country. However, we would imagine the plan is to have everything ready to reopen in conjunction with the grand opening of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure later this year. Stay tuned to AllEars for more Disneyland updates.
