Pros: Service/Food
Cons: refurb at the bar. Tight Quarters

I last visited the Rose and Crown for Dinner about 8 years ago. Food was poor at best and service was aweful. I decided to go back after reading reviews on All ears and decided what the heck, lets give it another try. afterall its Disney.
Our reservation was for 5:50 pm on Sept 3rd and we arrived a little early (25 minutes). We were greated and told it would be about 20 minutes. The bar area is undgoing a refurbishment so inside was tight and loud. I know its a bar.
We were seated inside and were greatly promptly by daniel. He took our drink order and returned quickly.
We did not have any apps or dessert, just dinner. The wife had Sheperds Pie. I asked how she liked it compared to Raglan road. She said it was different in the sense they used Lamb only whereas Raglan ueses Lamb and Beef. She said it was good flavor, not dry and she would have it again. I had the Sunday Roast. 4 slices of Beef (Served medium) mashed potatoes (good) Green beans with roasted garlic, roasted potatoes (small 2 pieces)-hey I had mashed potatoes, Yorkshire pudding (bread) Very good flavor on the beef, juicy. Full plate.
Service-Daniel was on top of everything. Brought drinks and refilled without asking. Hot rolls were delivered and brought over more when finished.
I left pleasently surprised, full and ready to tackle Test track. In conclusion I will be back

Pros:
Cons:

Ate here on 7/31/11. Both Hubby and I had the fish and chips. Best is all of Disney World. Hubby almost got fish and chips at T-Rex. Told him to wait for Rose. Not that T-Rex would have been bad. Just knew Rose was the place to get it. Ate at Fulton's a few days later and while it was good, Rose is WAY better. Waitress was great as well. Recommended a beer Hubby enjoyed very much.

Pros: food, service
Cons: nothing

Had dinner here on July 17th with the hope of getting an outdoor table. We'd visited the Rose & Crown several years ago, but ate inside the restaurant. This time, we specifically wanted to enjoy the delightful weather and see the fireworks. When we checked in at the hostess stand for our 7:45 pm reservation, Jack from Dearborn Heights greeted us warmly and promised to note our request. He did caution us, however, that the outdoor tables don't turn over very often as it gets closer to the time for Illuminations. When our buzzer went off about 15 minutes later, Jack was nowhere to be seen, and a different hostess led us away toward the interior of the restaurant. I again asked about an outdoor table, but was told that there weren't many available for parties of 2. Apparently they tend to save them for larger parties. I was disappointed, but was going to just accept the situation, when Jack came hurrying over. He stopped the hostess, and explained that we wanted to wait. Then there was some other conversation between them that I couldn't hear. In any case, the result was that we got a new beeper, and went back out front to wait. Long story short, about 30 minutes after we arrived, we got our outdoor table. Yaaaay! It was SO worth the wait.

We had a delightful server at our table. Tori from Northhampton England took great care of us, and never made us feel rushed - an experience I've had at some other WDW restaurants. She recommended an excellent beer, which paired with our meals of fish and chips, and bangers and mash made for a delicious dinner! Tori shared some stories of her experience working at Epcot, made recommendations of foods and wine to try around the World Showcase (even getting some paper and writing them down!). It was a lot of fun. Watching Illuminations from the outdoor dining area was fantastic. Quite a different experience from the hustle and bustle of the crowds on the sidewalk. I was so grateful to Jack for taking the trouble to chase down the staff who was leading us into the restaurant. He didn't have to do that! What great service this restaurant has, in addition to the yummy food. I HIGHLY recommend the Rose & Crown.

Pros: view of illuminations
Cons:

We went 2x. Outside for IllumiNations was better.
We were experimenting with food and enjoyed some choices not found at home. The shepherd's pie was a hit, as well as the Scotch eggs. It is a table service, so the food is slow cooked as opposed to fast food choice. We will return.

Pros: fish and chips
Cons: not the best service

Very nice patio seating for Illuminations. Our party had fish and chips(delicious!), surf and turf, bangers and mash(interesting),roasted chicken(good), vegetarian shepherds pie(yuck). Server was nice but very slow-had to chase her down for drink refills.

Pros: Waitress, Location for illuminations
Cons:

I was really sad to see that Rose and Crown was taking such a beating on the reviews because we have always enjoyed ourselves here. Well last night with our friends (party of 8) dining here and we were not disappointment. Our waitress Lindsay was the best, she communicated effectively without rushing and was there at the right time every time. The sirloin and fish is what I had, the steak was cooked perfectly almost a filet it was so juicy and the fish was crispy, light, and not greasy as all. Everyone at the table enjoyed the food and if I was to recommend a dessert, the toffee pudding is the way to go. Try and get a 7:50pm-8:00pm dinner reservation so you can see the fireworks while enjoying dessert. Have a magical Day!!

Pros: Large portions
Cons: Outside seating during hot summer day

First time dining here on June 19, 2011. We arrived 15 min early and waited 20 min to be seated. I don't understand the delay because the restaurant wasn't crowded and we had an early reservation (5 PM). It was incredibly hot and we were seated outside. I complained in a light-hearted tone but we weren't offered a seat inside. Our waitress was great. I ordered the Sunday Roast, DH ordered the Bangers and Mash and DD got the kids menu banger and mash. Everything was delicious and the portions were quite large. DH had 3 large sausages, mashed potatoes and gravy and cabbage. DD got one sausage and potatoes which was plenty with her carrot sticks and fruit cup. I had 3 large slices of roast, mashed potatoes, green beans, roasted potatoes and yorkshire pudding. Needless to say I couldn't finish it all. I did try the sausage and it was moist and well seasoned.
Prices were very reasonable, our bill for 3 meals was no more than we would have paid to eat out at home. We will definitely return but insist on sitting inside if it is hot!!!

Pros: Atmosphere
Cons: food

In 2007 this was one of our favorite places to dine. Just got back from there (May 2011) and did they ever drop in quality. The waitress practically ingnored us the whole time and the food did not represent England at all. The fish was SMALL and dry, the steak was over cooked, the fries were very dry and unimpressive. It would help if the head chef would visit an actual 'chippy' shop in england sometime.
It is times like this I really begrudge the automatic 18% TIP.
My next trip will not include Rose & Crown.

Pros: Walked in for lunch without reservations easily.
Cons: Food not that great.

We had lunch on April 26th without a reservation. We were seated within a few minutes and then our server came and took our drink orders promptly. My burger and fries were adequate. My husband's fish and chips looked quite greasy and the portion was not that large. I also found the menu not that exciting, but then we have a nice British restaurant here at home that makes much better food. While it wasn't that busy the tables are crammed together and it can get quite crowded. Our seating was better than the last time I ate there when we were right by the kitchen door. This could be a much better restaurant if they would revamp the menu.

Pros: Great Food
Cons: Limited seating

This place is a wonderful place to have a nice dinner with that special person in your life. All of the food is really good, but the Shepherd's pie is the best. If your timing is right, it is also a great place to view Illuminations.

Cast members were great and served us well.

Pros: seated outside while celebrating anniversary
Cons: waitress inattentiveness & smaller portion of fish

Although we were thrilled with the seating, our experience went downhill from there. Not sure what occurred early on, no complaints on our end, but the hostess and other waitresses kept walking by and peered at our table. Our waitress no longer gave eye contact, chose to spend more time with the other family instead of taking our orders, bringing food, or checking in on us to see if our food was ok. She lost our room card and throughout the night kept apologizing for being slow. Bigger portions of fish n' chips are available at the outside stand than three nuggets my daughter received.

Pros: Amazing view of Illuminations
Cons: Restrooms

Food is perfectly fine, but nothing exceptional. We go for the view of Illuminations which is outstanding and worth eating here.

Restrooms are very small and hard to get to if the pub area is busy. (This is very authentic!) Much easier and quicker to just go to the restrooms next to the shops in the UK.

Pros: food, service
Cons: noisy

We love the Rose and Crown and have eaten there a few times. The food is good, and portions are a reasonable size. The waitress is always very friendly. The beer sampler is wonderful (enough to share). This time our only complaint was we were seated near the entrance to the pub, and the pianist was performing, and it was very noisy. This was the first time we had eaten there for dinner instead of lunch. I think next time we will go for lunch, and it will be quieter.

Pros: nice deck seating
Cons: none

This was a spur of the moment meal. We were on the dining plan and left a few days open for our sit downs, so we were walk ups for lunch on a Monday afternoon. We went to the podium at noon and were told they opened at 12:30, so we took a leisurely walk around the countries and returned at that time. We were seated within 10 minutes. We had a table out on the deck overlooking the water...very nice. This was our 2nd time eating here and it did not disappoint. Both my husband and I had the fish and chips. Pretty good. A light breading deep fried of course. So we knew it would be a little greasy, but that's expected. The portion was just right. This is a nice place to take a quiet lunch or dinner if you are out on the deck. I don't know what they do if it rains, though. I'm sure at fireworks times, it gets a little busy. We'll be returning.
