Pros: Location,ammenities and POOL
Cons: rooms were so outdated!!!!!

We love staying at the Beach Club Resort so we decided to rent DVC points and stay in the villas...what a mistake! The room was worn out and grubby...my husband and I were shocked at the room! We had transferred from Port Orleans and had a much nicer room there. We did enjoy the pool area and love the resort itself but will never go back to the villas until they are updated!

Pros: Location
Cons: Needs a Facelift

This our home resort and we love it. The location is outstanding and the main building is lovely and always clean. This issue has continued to be the upkeep of the villas. They are showing thier age and things are just falling off walls, are broken, etc. It is very disappointing. I really hope they start upgrading some of these units soon, We brought our family for the holidays and I was a little embarrassed.

Pros: Great location,wonderful cast members
Cons: None

Stayed here 10/21 to 10/28 with DW and 3 daughters (10,10,17). Had enough room for all. The rooms are a little outdated. The service from cast members was outstanding. Walking to Epcot and HS was a pleasure and saved a ton of time. The girls loved the towel animals and the pool was great. Would go back to this resort.

Pros: Close to Epcot, Stormalongbay,
Cons: Renovations on site, tired hotel common parts, marketplace small

We have visited this resort 3 times and it is our home DVC base.

Most recently we visited for the last week of October and the first week of November 2012.

Unfortunately due to Sandy the temperature values were down by 5-10 degrees. This meant we were unable to use the pool as much as usual as it just too cold. The local tv reported the temp values as January weather. Bad luck.

The hotel was under going a lot of renovations with Hurricane Hanna's being closed. This certainly reduced pool side service options. The area around what used to be Periwigs hair salon was also being upgraded.

The one area that could really do with being upgraded is the Marketplace. This is mobbed at breakfast time. It is simply way to small for a resort of this size. Staff in the food area a bit grumpy, possibly because they having to deal with grumpy jostling customers.

Overall the resort theming is looking a little tired with fixtures and fittings consistent for several years.

However, still a good resort overall, very close to Epcot (albeit mobbed due to F&Wine), SAB best Disney pool by miles. Boardwalk area is beautifully themed. The space in the DVC villas is great and the ability to use the kitchenette for breakfast helps get you off to a flyer for the parks.

Had a very average meal in the Yachtsman whilst staying. Had much better here previously.

Glad we have DVC as I would be disappointed to be picking up a big bill for the variable standard this resort now represents.

In summary, still very good but the refurb budget needs to lift the hotel common spaces and must address the marketplace coffin.

Pros: Close to Epcot
Cons: Huge resort

Just came back from long weekend which was delayed due to Hurricane Sandy. Went for Food & Wine festival so location was great for that. Negatives are we were given an accessible room when we arrived which was never requested & did not work for 4 adults in 1 bedroom.

We were moved to regular room w/extended patio on 3rd floor as orig requested. Both sets of sliding doors had no handles??? It was not easy to pull to door open by the lock - called about them but were never fixed.

The pool is huge but none of hot tubs working. I think it would be very difficult to watch kids here.

The marketplace was crazy & food not great. Spoiled by size of Old Key West & food at Saratoga. Also, buses are terrible. Will be going back to OKW & SSR is the future - just not for us!

Pros: Everything
Cons: Nothing

First time staying anywhere other than Pop Century. Two adults in a studio villa on the far side of the property, 5th floor overlooking the water. First and foremost, wonderful hotel. very relaxed and friendly staff. Loved the short walk to Epcot, especially during food/wine fest.

Many comments about the rooms looking "worn" or "dated" - I didn't experience that in my villa. Everything was in tip-top shape.

If you use this property, be mindful of some shortcuts. If you are on the far side of the building, closer to the parking lot - use the parking lot exit to walk over to the bus. If you are in the middle/rear of the building, cut through the pool towards the entrance near the elevator. It breaks up the long walk through the hall!

The private dvc pool is nice, but the walk to Stormalong Bay is worth it. Easily one of the best pools I've ever used.

Pros: Location, Stormalong Bay
Cons: Pirate slide was out of service

We stayed in a studio on September 22, 2012 for one night. The room was ready at 10 am and we moved right in after leaving our Boardwalk studio. The room was very clean and showed no signs of wear. The walk to the villas is a little long, but not bad. The pool is awesome. We spent the entire day at the pool. The only downside was that the pirate ship slide was out of service. The staff was great. I highly recommend this resort. We will be returning in May.

Pros: walk to Epcot, boat to HS, great pools, comforter on beds, wonderful CM attention
Cons:

This was my first trip to WDW, taking both of my special needs grandsons, alone. I have taken each of them many times by myself but never both together. I can not say enough about how WDW went above and beyond to make this trip a huge success! I called and requested a ground floor room, near the quiet pool, so the boys could relax but still have fun in the afternoons. I didn't want to worry about them making to much noise and disturbing others. Our room was ready and waiting for us when we arrived at 11:30.It was perfect, ground floor about 10 steps from the pool.We spent each afternoon in the pool relaxing. We usually had the pool all to ourselves. It was wonderful, so quiet/peaceful.The room was nice and clean and had towel animals on each bed when we arrived. We had a problem with our toilet overflowing. Housekeeping came right away, cleaned the bathroom and called maintainance. Our toilet was fixed when we got home from the park that night.
Our mousekeepers were awesome! She made towel animals for the boys almost everyday and would arrange my grandsons toys/stuffed animals/blanket in a cute & different way on their beds everyday.
Our room was always neat, clean and fully stocked w/ towels/toiletries.
I will be back to the BC with my 2 grandsons soon, we all had a fabulous time!

Pros: Location, Pool
Cons: Getting dated

We stayed for our August trip as members for the 3rd time. We love the location, restaurant and the pools.

My 2 complaints is that it is started to get outdated and they need to use our maintenance fees to do some work around the resort. The things I always notice is the carpet is looking very dirty looking, even in the rooms. The sink area needs to be updated with more storage room like AKL. A shelf or drawer underneath would be great! You only have the single, small sink area and tiny shelf above.

The second thing is that the Laundry area is not good. There is only 2 front loaders and one is always broken!! This is not enough for all the members that have the right to use them. Plus, the front loader don't clean well and take a long time.

I am hoping that BCV's is on the list for being updated.

Otherwise, we love the location and pools. We even enjoy the quiet pool area by parking. We have room 170 and we could walk a few steps with the kids and go swimming for a little bit.
This is our home resort and we are proud to stay there. I just wish they would put a little more love into the updates.

Pros: large, bright, airy room
Cons: balcony light would not turn off

Stayed in a deluxe studio in May 2012. Largest, brightest studio of any of the studios at the four resort villas I've seen. Very clean and new looking. Room 314 overlooked pool, was convenient to elevator, but the balcony light was not controlled from the room and could not be turned off. (I didn't ask, so maybe it could have been, but the outside of the resort had had a pattern of lights that appeared to stay on all night.) Other than that, it was great.

Pros: Atmosphere, pool, location
Cons: Limited counter service

Stayed in a 2 bedroom villa with family of 7 and had plenty of room. The pool...and pool security....make it the best in WDW. Resort activities were fun! Many table service restaurant choices but lacking a roomy counter service. Enjoyed seeing lighter decor in martha's vineyard. Room was very clean and in good condition. Washer and dryer are convenient in room. Hotel staff is always outstanding and the resort property looked immaculate. Transportation is great except the AK/blizzard bus.....too many shared stops (swan/dolphin/ yacht) made it a 45-1 hour ride back to the resort every time.

Pros: Pros
Cons: Cons

I was really concerned about booking this particular resort after reading some of the negative comments. I am quite pleased to report that our 2 bedroom villa room 454 was in very good shape and well maintained. The one issue that we reported was quickly attended to. I am pleased that the management has become very aggressive in keeping Stormalong Bay (as it should be)for paying resort guests. The Marketplace meal offerings have been vastly upgraded since our visit in July and we found the Cast Members to be above and beyond helpful. The only area of concern in the Marketplace was the ice machine that was out of order (with no sign indicating such)the entire 6 day stay. The areas that need improving are streamlining of Disney Magical Express specifically as it relates to the airport check in and associated tasks involved in having bags put in the holding area. The only other concern I had was in the check out procedure, the evening before departure I specifically asked if I could process a split tender to our account because we had multiple people paying for their own particular purchases. I was assured that my credit card would not be charged until after 11 am the following morning,I arrived at 10 am to find that they had already charged my card the total and it took 45 minutes to undo the error.

Pros: Location, pool, staff
Cons: Condition of room, check in

We just returned from our favorite resort and am sad to say we were left dissapointed in what we found during our stay. We have stayed at BCV many times. During our stay last year I noticed the villas were showing wear and tear but this year it was worse. Our one bedroom had a broken stove and jammed folding doors in front of the washer dryer. When I pulled out the sleeper sofa there were popcorn kernels underneath and I also found a half eaten bagel near the sliding glass door in the bedroom.

Without anyone in front of us, our check in took longer than a half hour because there was something wrong with the computer system and to make things worse the manager berated one of the cast members in front of me.

I am so sad to see all this because we truly love this place but I could not recommend it until they work to restore it to what it use to be. I did not feel like it was representative of a deluxe resort.

We honestly still had a wonderful time and didn't let these things get in the way of that. We also encountered so many nice cast members.

BCV you need to clean up your act!

Pros: Nice Staff
Cons: work on Stromalong Bay

Just returned from six days, April 9 - April 14th, at the Beach Club Villas....this is our home resort and only the second time we've been able to stay here. We were in a 2 bedroom, 2 queen bed, rm 452. Being Easter week, room points were at a premium, but we felt the resort was worth it.

About a week and a half before our trip we got a letter telling us work was being done on Stormalong Bay pool, but only one of the three pools would be closed. Well the one pool was the main pool and work was being done on it all day long. One day we went to Beaches and Cream (got the kitchen sink for my niece's birthday!), while waiting for our table we literally had to yell over the sound of the jack hammers and compressors in the pool. It was beside an open construction site!! I understand periodically work needs to be done, but couldn't it have been done during a value season??? No one said it was emergency work. On the plus side, we were given one day passes to a water park for our entire party, as was every guest.

The staff was very nice (I'm sure they all had to put up with irate guests all week). I have always been a huge Disney lover, but this really put a bad taste in my mouth. Seriously considering selling our DVC membership.

Pros: As close to perfection as you can get
Cons: none

The staff was wonderful and friendly! We stayed 5 days in a studio and 5 days in a 1 bedroom. The studio was room 149 and was VERY quiet. This room faces the Beach Club and doesn't have any rooms across the hall because it is a service area. We never heard another soul around us and could hear the music from Epcot! The only problem in this room was the sofabed which was incredibly squeaky! My daughter finally had to take the mattress off the sofa and put it on the floor. I would LOVE to have this room again!

The 1 bedroom was room 409. It is right off the elevator facing the front entrance. I was afraid it would be noisy outside, but any noise was from children in the halls. This was a much higher traffic area than our previous room.

Both rooms were very clean and no other problems!
