Pros: Beautiful atmosphere.
Cons: Small food portions for the price, noisy.

We ate here Christmas day. The atmosphere was perfect for the occasion. The food was just ok. Small portions for the cost, but we knew to expect this already since we have eaten here before. (We chose to eat here because my parents were with us for the holidays, and had never eaten at the Coral Reef). Our waiter was ok (not very social), but he did take care of our needs. We probably won't return here for several years since we've experienced it twice, and its nothing to "write home" about. I would recommend this restaurant for a family that enjoys aquarium settings and ambient atmospheres, but the food is only average.

Pros: beautiful atmosphere
Cons: pushy waiter

On recent visits to Disney, this is usually one of my favorite places to eat. The atmosphere is beautiful and very serene. Everything my family and I have ordered has been really good. I have to say that my most recent visit on Feb.25, 2001 was a bit of a disappointment. To begin with, they took the wild mushroom lasagna off the menu. I was very much looking forward to that. They replaced it with a mushroom filled phyllo cup. It was ok. Nothing spectatular. Our waiter was a little over the top about the Jack Daniels White mocha mousse. He just insisted that we all get it and that no other dessert on the menu was even a comparison. One of my friends simply did not want that, and ordered the butterscotch creme brulee. The waiter went on and on about how she was going to be disappointed. I'm all about joking around and having a good time with the waiter, but he simply didn't know when to let it go. He even went to the point of not bringing her a spoon to eat her creme brulee with until she tried the mousse. It was a bit too much. I would probably try Coral Reef again, but I sure hope they put the wild mushroom lasagna back on the menu, and would want another waiter.

Pros: Atmosphere
Cons: none

We were in Disney 2/16 - 2/25. I was a little hesitant to eat at the Coral Reef for two reasons, one I don't like seafood and two the reviews are very up and down. I was pleasantly surprised. My husband had the trout, my daughters had steak and I had the pork tenderloin (which turned out to be one of the best meals this trip). The food and service were great. We had a very large party (over 20) and were seated at three differents tables. Everyone had a great time and enjoyed the food and service. We got to see people scuba diving and waving to us as they swam past. We will definitely eat here again.

Pros: Atmosphere, service
Cons: Food, poor value for the money

We ate lunch here on our final day at WDW. I was actually shocked at how bad the food was here given our consistently good experiences elsewhere.

I ordered the lobster soup as an appetizer, and it was completely tasteless and had just 4 small chunks of lobster in it. I expected a lot more for an $8 soup. My entree was the mahi mahi, and again, tasteless and the fish did not seem to be fresh. My dining partner agreed that his chicken was average, though at least passable, unlike my fish.

You're paying signature dining prices for lunch - and you're in Epcot. With so many excellent choices available to you at World Showcase, Coral Reef should be an afterthought during your planning process. The food here is just plain miserable.

Pros: friendly staff, view, food
Cons: wait for seating, noisy

We had ADR for Valentine's night 2/14/11 for 2 adults, 3 children. We checked in on time but waited over 30 minutes to be seated (we were told it was because of our party size). We sat in the second row (also because of our party size). Our waiter was extremely friendly (gave great college advice to our oldest). We ordered local fish, New York steak, and chicken dishes. My 5 year old ordered the meaty macaroni (which she sent back for pizza). All of our plates were delicious (although the steak had a bit of fat/gristle). From start to finish our meal took about an hour and a half. It was nice to watch the fish, sharks, turtle and rays swim by while we waited for our food and ate. It was by far one of our best experiences here and although it was very noisy it was still enjoyable.

Pros: Aquarium View
Cons: None

December 2010 - Lunch. We really enjoyed watching the aquarium from our table (had table right next to the aquarium window)... sea turtles, rays, sharks, etc... The mussels appetizers and NY strip steak were great. The other food was good, but nothing spectacular. Will definitely come back. But beware, reservations are tough to get here. Make reservations 180 days in advance or as soon as possible. All tables have a view... but ask for a table next to or close to the aquarium. You will enjoy it!

Pros: Service, atmosphere
Cons: Felt rushed

I was able to be seated (party of 1!) on 1/22, at approximately 7PM, with a minimal wait and at a "window side" table. (I had dinner with the giant turtle - who stared at me the entire time.) My waitperson, Shannon, was EXCELLENT!

My hesitation in giving a "10" was that the food service seemed rushed, as dinner was served WITH my cocktail. Shannon apologized and explained that a lot is pre-prepared for the rush periods. My grilled mahi mahi was a bit dry and, with her explanation in mind, seemed like it had been waiting to be served for a period.

Dessert was great, though. I would go again, but perhaps not during "rush hours."

Pros: Great service, fast seating, delicious food
Cons: Absolutely nothing wrong

We had ADR for dinner on 12/15/10, large party of 6 and our last ADR after being at WDW a week. I only booked the Coral Reef for the atmosphere, and did not think the food would be that great due to a previous experience 3 years ago. We were totally surprised this time, first our server was excellent and was the best we had our entire stay. Next, the food that all of us ordered was fantastic....in fact we were in shock as earlier in the week we had such a bad experience at La Cellier we were wondering how our other ADRs would go. I had the pork with the polenta cake, delicious. My kids had the pizza and actually liked it, unlike the pizza at La Cellier....it was smaller but actually tasted good! 2 adults in our party had the strip steak and raved how tender it was and tasty, nothing like the strip steak at La Cellier that was full of gristle and hardly any meat. The last adult had a shell fish dish, literally everything was cleaned from his bowl and he raved how great it was. 2 of us had the draft beer with our meals, it was a large glass and was less than $6..very good beer too. Of course the warm chocolate cake dessert was great too, and so rich you can easily share with the kids too. I highly recommend The Coral Reef! Don't pass this one up!

Pros: aquarium view, good food
Cons:

Our ADR was for 4:45 on 12/4/10. We checked in 15 minutes prior to our ADR and were seated within 15 minutes. We were wished Happy Anniversary as soon as we were seated which was nice. We were seated in the next to last row of tables. We would have liked to have been closer, but we still had a good view of the tanks. We were on the dining plan and each ordered the New York strip steak with mashed potatoes. Our food was very good and brought out pretty quickly, though we did not feel rushed at all during our dinner. Since we were both so full after our meals, we asked for only 1 of the chocolate wave desserts to share since we did not want to waste additional food even though we both get a dessert on the dining plan. Our waitress understood and brought just the 1 dessert no problem. The dessert was very good. We had good service with good quality food, and we will definitely be coming here again.
