Loudness if seated directly around large groups especially with small children...

We decided to give Coral Reef another try after a not too good experience a couple of years ago - this time we were pleasantly surprised. Yes, it can still be loud - and sitting directly next to the tank is maybe not the best place because folks young and old want to come closer to get a good look at the fish. But for the most part, the atmosphere/decor were soothing, cool and very attractive.
Our service was good - not rushed - went at our pace. We shared the appetizer platter for two - and it was delish - the corn chowder that day was excellent. Then we split the lobster ravioli - and yes the portion was not too large but for us (and we split it too) it was a good size for lunch.
Stay away from steak and don't order the veg. pasta dish (I think its wild mushroom lasagna) and you should be fine. Try it at least once if you haven't - so you can enjoy the surroundings.

We love this place! It's so quiet and peaceful on a hot Florida day! We had lunch for our party of 6 and were seated by the aquarium!! Our Waitress was Mulan! Seriously so of course I remember her name! She was great! The lobster ravioli was wonderful! DD 15 had the New York strip and loved it! DH had a crunchy shrimp entree and enjoyed as well. The chocolate wave is incredible!

Second time eating here and this time our server was awful. We were seated at a booth with 2 highchairs for our twins. The chairs are the type that clip onto the table and it was a bit of a struggle to get them in, buckled, and the seats secured. We had just been seated when our server arrived and started rattling off the menu choices and asked for our drink order. I hadn't even looked at the menu yet so I asked for more time and he seemed put out. He could see that we were attending to the babies but still gave us only a few minuets before returning for our order. He even wanted our dessert choices at the same time as our entrees. He forgot my drink and had to be asked twice. It arrived after my dinner. Slow on refills and still had our dinner plates when dessert arrived. I have never felt so rushed. I think this poor service was due to the fact that we had 6 in our party hence the guaranteed tip. Food was good and fish were really cool so I would return here but hope for better service.

I was here while on our girls trip me and 3 friends. I have eaten here many many times and it is a FAVORITE of mine! The 4 of us got a table right next to the windows which was awesome, Ive never gotten that great of a table before. We had a 1:00pm res for lunch and were seated within 5 minutes of arriving. Our server, (Brooke I believe), was awesome! She was super nice and very attentive and we had excellent service!
Between the 4 of us, 2 had the lobster ravioli (both loved it), I as always had the mahi mahi which as always, was great, and the last girl had the chicken which she said was great also. The desserts were great also (chocolate wave, mousse, and cheesecake). All in all, it was a great meal and we loved the view from right next to the tank.
Can you tell I love Coral Reef? LOL I cant wait to eat here again when I am back again in 3 weeks, this time with my husband and son!

The atmosphere was awesome, we loved the fish tank surrounding us. It was elegant. The waiter was really sweet he took a picture of us. The food is a different story, I ordered the Grilled Mahi Mahi, it tasted awful. My daughter got the Seared Chicken Breast, it was better than the fish. The got the Chocolate Wave for dessert it was the best thing I ate. My daughter got the Cheesecake Napoleon, it was ok. If you don't love seafood, I don't recommend this place.

Had a great dinner with my wife, teen daughter and grandson. Art was our waiter and was by far the best we encountered during our stay. This is not a knock on anyone else but a tribute to how good he was. The view of the aquarium was great but the food stood out well on its own. Where other places in WDW turned their nose at accommodating requests for small changes to their menu, Art quickly converted a shrimp appetizer into a full course meal for our daughter. I personally had been off fish for about a year after some bad experiences and reluctantly tried the wreck fish. It was excellent. We had a great time.

We arrived 5 minutes after our ADR hungry and tired, when we got to the front desk to check in they said that they had given our reservation away to a walk-in customer because they didn't think we were going to arrive in time for our reservation time. Already aggravated we agreed to wait an extra 35-40 minutes for a table.
After we waited 35 minutes for a table, we were seated by a rude waitress asking, "did you have a magical day at Epcot?!" sarcastically ready to walk out then and there we got a table right by the fish tank, after complimenting what a nice view it was, A different waitress moved us to a different table in the back because that table was already booked for a different Family.
We sat waiting with no menus, no waitress, and no view of the fish tank. We waited 25 minutes until a server asked if we were being helped. We replied no and asked if he would get us some menus and beverages. He stated "I can't help you because I'm not your assigned server". We then asked if he could find "OUR" waitress and he said "I'll Try" 10 minutes later he said that our waitress was taking her lunch break and asked us if we wanted to move to a different table to get a different server we said we wanted to see the manager and he said he was at a meeting and the assistant manager didn't come in until 2:00 right then we walked out. We didn't walk out earlier because we really wanted to try this restaurant but waiting over an hour and a half for an unattentive waitress is unacceptable. After leaving we ate at the Canadian Steakhouse and it was delicious with phenomenal service.
We Will never return to the "coral reef".

We had reservations for 8:15 and were seated around 8:45- other people had waited much longer. We got a table near the top, away from the aquarium and to the side which was kind of disappointing given that the last time we were there we were right by the window. On the plus side it was warmer up there. Our server was good. He was a little pushy with telling us what he liked on the menu. You get buns to start which is good. The food is very good but he portions are TINY. I do not even eat a lot and think they are ridiculously small. My mahi-mahi was decently sized but my boyfriend got lobster ravioli and only got 5 pieces. I would go back.

This was our 3rd visit to this restaurant over the last 15 years, the menu choices have definitely diminished over the years but the food is still good. The only complaint we had was that the portion size on the lobster ravioli was very small especially for my 18 year old son.

Our party of nine was seated quickly after we checked in about five minutes prior to our reservation. Because of the size of our party, we were very squished into one of the booths on the third tier of the restaurant. One of our party was on the verge of falling off the seat his entire meal. I would have been happier if they split us up and put part of the party at the smaller tables across from the booth.
I had the Mushroom Phyllo Crisp and was not disappointed. However, I was very disappointed to find out that the butterscotch creme brulee was no longer served and was replaced with a passion fruit brulee. It was very good, just not as yummy as the butterscotch version.

We ate the Coral Reef this June. The service started okay but ended badly. It was very slow to get our desserts and bill. The waiter seemed to want to be anywhere else. The food was either loved or considered mediocre by our group. The fish of the day was very good. Others didn't care for their meals. The room was a bit cold while we ate. I would recommend with reservations.

6 for food, 3 for service. This was our first dinner during our 10 day stay and unfortunately did NOT meet our expectations. The service was slow, seating was slow(although we were there early) couldn't really see the tank (2nd row seating) and the food wasn't that great.
Steak - tasteless,
chocolate cake w/ raspberry drizzle - take it or leave it
Mousse - OK. Probably the best part of the meal

The wait staff at this restaurant is very helpful and attentive. The desserts are a highlight. The chocolate wave is incredible!! The steak was excellent. The whole family had a lot of fun watching the fish and trying to identify the various species from the card they give you when you sit down. The only negative was the temperature. It was very cold in the restaurant which diminished our ability to enjoy our meal.
