Staff , mediocre food, not worth $$$ boring menu

Had dinner Fri 1-11-13 at 8:00 pm. When approaching the hostess at podium, I asked her to say my name and time in French, as I knew my daughter would be excited if I did. The hostess refused to speak French to me and made a point to respond in English. Weird. She also did not smile at anyone. The man who called our names piped up though and said I spoke French quite well. He was very nice.
On to the waiter: he was distracted the whole time. There were only 2 of us and he barely stopped at all at the table. When he handed us out dessert menus, he actually had his back to us holding out the menus behind him while talking to the people at the table next to us! Lol! Omg how lame.
Ok so mediocre food not very French at all. The only French thing on menu was escargot. I had tenderloin and it was tender I can say that, cheesy potatoes ok and thin frozen green beans were plain and tasteless. My appetizer was a simple salad. Daughter had macaroni and cheese was ok.
1 dessert, little piece of cake with 1 raspberry, 1 glass of wine, 2 coffees. Bill was 105.00. Not worth it at all, will pass this one by next time.

While Le Cellier had been recommended, and we considered Monsieur Paul---we liked the menu here (our first visit to this restaurant). An then we loved the food!
We have a great French hotel and restaurant near home, but haven't been in awhile, so chose here-- as opposed to previous dining with the kids.
Our waiter, Ghislain was shy/reserved--had only been in the US 3 months, but warmed up upon talking a bit--though they are clearly pressured to keep moving. (He said fish would take 12 min. and meat would be 15 min.) We had ADR for 6:50P, arrived just before and had to wait about 15min. OK--except the reservation was ONLY listed in my FIRST name(!) They apparently have majority of tables for 3-4 persons, as opposed to 2 --at least at our period, and maybe in general.
Couldn't decide btwn filet and price fixe--but Ghislain was helpful (and generally attentive). House wine wasn't killer, but was still very tasty. Husband said best meal he's had in quite awhile! We thought the price was reasonable for Disney (& better than MN). Likely not the most suitable situation for kids, and agree this doesn't seem very 'Disney'--but that was fine with the 2 of us. While the menu is more approachable/basic than typical France....we got a great meal!

We've eaten here our last two trips to Epcot but probably will try a new restaurant next time. The French selections are somewhat limited and my Salmon was a bit dry however the rest of our dining party completely enjoyed their food. Food was a bit pricy but that is always the case for Disney. We had a free DDP so costs was not an issue for us. The silly waiter came around and interacted with everyone, showing off the mouse character from the Rattitoule movie. He was HILARIOUS!

We always love coming here. We ate here on 12/21 before the Candelight Processional. The food and service was very good. Got to see Remy, which was an added bonus. The gentleman escorting him was very funny.

The food here was good. The lobster bisque is a must. Very tasty!
The atmosphere was nice and the staff was polite but I will agree with a few other reviewers that they are a little "stuffy" acting. We mainly ate here because of Remey the mouse for our son. I made sure and scheduled it for the right times but unfortunately he was a no show. The waiter did not offer much of an explanation nor did he seem "sorry" but unforeseen things happen.
I doubt I will eat here again but if you want to try French food and atmosphere I would recommend it.

This was hands down the best meal of our trip. We dined here for the Candlelight Processional lunch package on 12/20. Our ADR was for 12:40pm, we checked in a few minutes early and were seated immediately in the front room overlooking the World Showcase promenade-I think it may have been the exact same table I was seated at this past March when I dined there. Our server was Brice, and he was outstanding-the only waiter I think we have ever tipped 20%.
To start, I ordered the French Onion Soup and mom got the Lobster Bisque, both were outstanding. And the baguette that was brought to the table was delicious too! For the entrees, Mom chose the Quiche Lorraine which she enjoyed very much. I went with the Baked Macaroni which was the best macaroni I've ever had (and it's one of my favorite foods, so I've had a lot!). Dessert was my favorite, the profiteroles, and Mom ordered the Strawberry Cream Cake and Sorbet with Raspberry Sauce, which she said was a perfect ending to the meal: light and fluffy but not too sweet.
Our original ADR was for Via Napoli, but after thinking about it and comparing menus, we switched to here, and I'm so glad we did! Absolutely outstanding!

We dined here last night We had 4:40 ADRs and we were seated within minutes. Most of the wait staff were polite but not friendly, but we expect this is a cultural thing. The waiter bringing around Remy was wonderful, very fun and funny.
On the food side of things, we were very pleased. I ordered the macaroni and cheese, and I enjoyed the rich cream-like cheese and the rigitoni pasta used.
Both of my sisters ordered the half chicken. They both quite enjoyed the chicken and potatoes, and esp. the gravy.
Dad ordered the lobster bisque and the salad de chevre chaud (which I needed to order for him because he could not pronounce chevre) and he really enjoyed the bisque, and thought the salad was also great, just less so.
For dessert, the three of us girls ordered the creme brule. They are quite big!
The only major downside to this restaurant is in the room we were seated in had windows that showed people walking around the France pavillion who could look down and watch us eat. It was a bit unsettling.

We really enjoyed out dinner here on 12/14. We had a late ADR and had to wait about 35 minutes, but no biggie. Cast members were all polite, but not friendly. Possibly, this is just a cultural thing. Food was good and I expected to love it after talking with friends who had been and reading other reviews. Hubs was skeptical, but was thoroughly impressed with his filet! Even dared Le Cellier to make one tastier! The baguette is a lovely start and it's definitely as authentic as it gets outside of the true France. One disappointment- we both ordered the profiteroles since they'd been given rave reviews...the chocolate sauce saves them. We weren't impressed and hate that I didn't just get creme brulee! C'est la vie!

We ate here on the night of the candlelight. It was nice to have a flat price and to able to order anything off the menu. For the app, 3 of us had the onion soup and it was wonderful. The 4th person had a cheese plate and said it could have used more bread but was good. Dinner for all of us was good and so was dessert. Our waitress on the other hand was not that great and really left us disappointed with her but other then that everything was good and enjoyable.

Mom/Daughter trip in the beginning of October and I have to say this was probably our least favorite place in 10 days of WDW. Not being huge seafood/fish fans, we changed our reservations from Coral Reef as nothing on the menu jumped at us. We arrived 15 mins early and were told they weren't open yet and come back at our reservation time, ok no problem, after all, we were early.
Once we were called, we were seated and had a very brief not overtly friendly waiter. He almost seemed a little annoyed.
We ordered off the Prie Fixe menu and each had the Onion Soup, Ham sandwiches and different desserts. (which I can't remember so can't be too memorable I guess) Mom loved the soup, I wasn't as big a fan. I enjoyed the sandwich she didn't.
What we both really didn't like was the uncomfortable feeling from the beginning. Our waiter stood across the room basically just waiting to come takes things away. He never checked on us except to take things away and we had to ask for refills. He rarely talked at all, we noticed other tables quite interactive with their wait staff and others just as "stiff and rigid". Maybe he took his job a bit too seriously or was having a bad day but after all, it had just started. We felt quite out of place and honestly just wanted to leave shortly after getting there.
So overall, the food wasn't enough to win us over and the uncomfortable feeling we had was enough to definitively say there are much better places at Epcot and will probably never be back. But hey obviously there's some pretty recent good reviews so maybe we just got a bad day but I think we should've stuck with our original plan of Coral Reef at least we could've had a fun view.

Despite forgetting the exact date of our visit (sometime between Oct 30 and Nov 2) the meal was definitely memorable. In fact, it ranks well into our top 10 WDW meals ever. Both the chicken and the beef entrees were fabulous. The onion soup was delicious and so were the deserts. The service was terrific. We intend to make this restaurant a regular stop on our trips.

This was one of our favorite family dining experiences this time around. I had the salmon which was delicious, husband had the beef dish which he also loved. The French Onion soup and Lobster Bisque were awesome. My daughter loved seeing Remy and that made her day. The desserts were yummy too! I highly recommend this restaurant.

Chefs de France seems to want to project itself as a fancier restaurant and more of a gourmet experience than it is or could ever hope to be. We had to wait a half-hour for a table, and then our meal took well over an hour, so our kids were cranky, plus they didn't like the food or their menu options. I was disappointed in my own meal - the pasta was all stuck together, and the meat was surprisingly tough and stringy. I would not recommend bringing kids, and there are better options for just adults, too.

We dined here first week in October (2012) and it was a great meal from all aspects! The restaurant is very picturesque and our waiter was adorable and seemed very concerned that we were happy with everything and never rushed us(Mathieu). Meals were very good (Chicken, beef and pasta selections) and Remy was charming as well! Prices a bit high, but if you are on the meal plan, definitely worth a visit!

We had lunch and it was lovely. We had a table in the atrium over looking the fountain. The food was very good-all three of us had the three course lunch. The Croque Monsier was excellent and my daughter's quiche was very good. The desserts - Profiteroles were great!
