We did this tour on Tuesday, 6 December 2022. We checked in near the Safari ride and received our lanyards. We were escorted backstage and boarded a bus to the Elephant pens. However, there were no Elephants in sight and the cast member said they must be sleeping somewhere we could not see. She pointed out a couple elephants in a distant pen, but you could hardly see them. She showed us Elephant poop and a tooth. But not seeing any Elephants nearby was a major disappointment. There were 16 of us on this particular tour and before we went our separate ways we all agreed this tour was a rip-off. One guy was so irate he said he was going to Guest Services to demand his money back. Disney has also become very cheap and wanted the lanyards back after the tour.
Bottom line is that this tour is "hit or miss" regarding seeing any elephants. It was not worth the money just to hear the cast member talk about Elephants. Overall, very disappointing.

Pros:

Got to go backstage.

Cons:

No Elephants to see where they took us. Wanted the lanyards back after the tour.

I was very disappointed with the way my scheduled tour was handled. I missed my tour because of torrential downpours, I was stuck in a line. This was entirely my fault. However when I went to discuss options with the man at the caring for giants kiosk, he was less than friendly and told me I had to buy a new ticket. I just think his attitude could have been nicer since I did spend money on the tour.

Pros:

None

Cons:

Poor service

Umm, why would you NOT do this!? My wife and I did this tour in February 2020 (pre COVID, so to speak). We did this tour to make Animal Kingdom a "full-day park" for us. At just thirty dollars (at the time of writing this) it is totally worth it. We got to see some behind of the scenes of AK but still keeping the magic alive. It was my wife and I and another couple so it was nice to have a break from the crowds. We did this tour around 3:00 so it was a nice "break" or "reset" as we finished the rest of our evening at AK.

Pros:

You get bragging rights that you held elephant poop at WDW, Nice break, Low attendance, Very one-on-one, Some behind-the-scenes.

Cons:

None!

I recently did this experience during my trip in January and it was such a different and interesting experience. We always look for something new to do, so when we found this it was perfect. Highly recommend doing the last tour times they run we did the 3 or 3:30 and it was only my family on the tour which made it super personalized.

Pros:

Views of backstage areas of animal kingdom, amazing views of the elephants on the savana which leads to amazing pictures, and informative cast members with so much information about both the animals and conservation efforts.

Cons:

There are no cons for this experience except maybe the price.

This tour was excellent. We had a chance to go behind the scenes at Animal Kingdom Park plus see the elephants up close! The van takes you behind the elephant part of the safari ride. You go up stairs to a landing where you can get a great view of the elephants. When we were there baby Stella had just been introduced to the public. She was adorable!

Our guide gave us information about the elephants and how Disney cares for them. We also received a little souvenir. There was plenty of time for pictures too.

Give the reasonable price of this tour, I’d say it was well worth it.

Pros:

Fun, informative, low cost

What a great inexpensive way to see Elephsnts up close. With knowledgeable friendly cast members.

Pros:

Behind the scenes at AK, amazing close up views and pictures, cast members who really care and answer all your questions.

Cons:

Wish it was a bit longer. We could have watched all day long.

This was probably the best tour I have been in in Disney World. My only complaint is that it could be longer. The photo opportunities were great and we loved learning more about the elephants and how they are cared for my the cast members.

Pros:

close photo opportunities with the elephants

Cons:

could be longer

We were the only 2 to show for our tour so it was just us. We went backstage and got into a van to the viewing area. The elephants were right in front of us and were curious and came close to see who we were. We learned their names and what the hierarchy is. It was the best hour I've spent in Animal Kingdom. Just sitting on the bench watching the elephants for 20 minutes was so calming and we felt very privileged to be there with them. Highly recommend.

Pros:

Being so close to the elephants

Cons:

None

My three daughters and I booked this tour to just add something different to our trip. The big plus for me was that it was short, so it wouldn't take a lot of time away from their list of things they wanted to do, and the cost was very reasonable, so for our family of four, we were able to add it even after the budget was pretty well set.

A brief introduction is followed by a short bus ride to the viewing area. While no one is guaranteed the actual location of the elephants, they estimate you are about 100 feet from these beautiful creatures, and after many times riding the Kiliminjaro Safari ride, I will say they did feel much closer.

There is an elephant expert that provides information about the herd at Disney's Animal Kingdom, such as the names of the elephants, how much food they eat, how much, ummm, "waste" they create, and other details. There are then two brief presentations from cast members from Africa, basically giving information about how the animals and people live peacefully together.

They give you plenty of time for photos, and there is ample opportunity to ask questions. Before your short bus ride back, you are given one of the Disney conservation buttons, as part of your tour fee goes toward these efforts.

My girls are ages 12, 16, and 25, and all of them walked away feeling it was well worth the time to do this tour. They loved seeing the elephants interact with each other, and they enjoyed learning more about the animals and the facilities at Disney's Animal Kingdom.

Definitely recommend!

Pros:

Informative and Inexpensive

Cons:

Brief
