Pros: princesses
Cons: felt rushed

This is our second time eating here. We will return again next trip. The food was just ok. The cold buffet is ok. I had the mushroom pasta and it was very good. The kids had hot dogs/corn (I'm glad we had free dining) I don't know if I would've paid out of pocket for the kids meals as they were very small portioned. The princesses were excellent as they were last visit. My son was away from the table when Ariel came around and he cried his eyes out when he came back and found out she had already made her way to the table. She made a special visit back and spent a little extra time with him when she found out how upset he was for missing her. It was a wonderful experience for both our kids!

Pros: food, service
Cons: check in

We went back in December for lunch and while we enjoyed it, the meal took a while and check in was long and crazy. We went for dinner in August 2011 for our older daughter's 5th bday and while the check in line was a bit long, it was organized and we were seated fairly quickly this time around. We even got a Belle who truly looked the part and was amazing with our girls. She even asked the bday girl to twirl with her so they could both show off their pouffy skirts.

Our table area wasn't as pretty this time, but we were right near the buffet under the white brick archways about 1 row back from the buffet and a row off from the main pathway to the buffet. So I was close enough to get up to get seconds on popular things for the kids and still be able to watch them, yet far enough from the lines of people going back and forth.

We had decent princess interaction this time as well, and like usual - Ariel was the star of the meal! My girls also did the parade with Snow White and Cinderella was super sweet.

We all enjoyed our food this time. I wish I could tell you what DH had (pork maybe?), but he was done with it before I ever could really ask or photograph it. I had the ravioli which was MUCH better than my meal last time. The buffet is also a huge hit for us. My younger one loves salami and cheese while my older one loves smoked salmon and shrimp- so they were in LOVE with Akershus. They even gave DD2 complimentary food this time. DD5 got a nice bday cupcake presentation with chocolate sauce and gummi bears and while the rest of us had the standard dessert trio- it was much fresher this visit.

As we left we realized all of the princesses were gone and they weren't seating anyone. I think this is why we waited so long last time. i.e. they suspend seating until the next rotation begins. If only I could find out estimated rotation times so we could better time our meals there.

Pros: food, princess and service
Cons: Waiting to get in

The cold buffet has cold salmon and good salad, my son and I love it. My daughter love her kid meal and has fun walking with the princess. The entrees were wonderful. My son has Pan-seared Salmon was very good and all the adults have Chef Catch of the Day that was recommanded by the waiter was the best fish that I ever had in Disney dining. We will come back.

Pros: Princesses, Cold buffet
Cons: Price

The primary reason people dine here is for the Princesses. My family of 4 was not disappointed as Belle (mainstay), Ariel, Aurora, Cinderella, and Snow White were all present during our visit. Each Princess stayed for a few minutes or so to chat with my DD and to take pics. Unfortunately, the Cast Member helping Snow White rushed her visit at our table so she could do the Princess Walk(?). As for the food, if you like fish, then the the cold buffet is right up your alley. I ate my fill of the cold buffet whereas the rest of family picked their way through the food. My family enjoyed the main course options Traditional Kjottkake, Grilled Venison Sausage Sandwich, and the Cheese Ravioli and Meatballs (kids). I ordered an 8" Snow White birthday cake (big, but it could be personalized) for my daughter. The cake was adequate (taste wise), but there was no special presentation by the server or Cast Members. Overall, the service/food was satisfactory, but the cost of the experience is pricey.

Pros:
Cons:

The food was good, but it's not really why we made the reservation. We wanted a princess meal that we wouldn't have to burn two credits a piece to do. The line moved quickly and the pictures with Belle turned out great. The princess interaction made my daughter happy. We will probably choose somewhere else next time because there is just so much yummy food to taste all through Epcot, but I would recommend this if you want the princess interaction.

Pros: Princesses
Cons: Food, Service

Waitress wasn't nice, the cold buffet selection was difficult with small children. The dessert was the best part about it and the princesses made it worthwhile, but we will skip it next time.

Pros: food and princesses

We ate here for our DD. She loves Disney Princesses!! The cold buffet was a meal in itself. The entrees were wonderful. We all loved the desserts.

Pros: princesses, food
Cons: crowded

We had a nice meal here the week of May 15th. I got the mushroom pasta which was excellent, and my husband enjoyed the beef tips, while my daughter thought her chicken (kids meal) was just O.K. We all liked being able to try different things from the buffet, but there were some things we didn't like, which is O.K. - it's a matter of preference. My daughter loved the pasta salad, I loved the different cheeses. The reason why I gave it a 7 on the review is because of the little parade the Princesses do during their visit. We had been seated right at a corner to another room, and the Princesses went right by my chair - along with all the kids (which is fine) AND ALL THE PARENTS WITH CAMERAS. Why people can not get pictures from their seats - and EVERY princess stops at every table! - is beyond me. We also had a little boy hanging over our table while we were eating. I had to yell at him to get away from our food (it was loud in there). As my daughter is a little older than some of the ones there (she's 9), she didn't want to do the parade, but after seeing all the parents with their cameras clogging up the aisles we did not get to see very much of it, even though they went right by our table! When the princesses came by our table for autographs and pictures, each one was very friendly and not rushed. I don't know why they can't just do that instead of the parade. The food was good, but I doubt we'll be back since my daughter is getting a little too old for the princesses, and we'd not want to deal with the parents if we were just coming for the food.

Pros: Princesses! Cold buffet bar, great server, nice atmosphere
Cons: Pricey

Our party of 9 ate lunch here on May 5. The cold buffet was great. The seafood is just delicious, and I love the goat cheese. My kids were happy to see turkey cold cuts, cheese and bread. They were able to make sandwiches from the cold buffet which they preferred to the kids' meals!

We had a large party (9 people) so we got 2 different photos included with our meal. We had them take one of the kids with the princess alone, and one with the entire group and the princess. This was nice to have two different poses but you have to ask! Otherwise they'll just give you 2 of the same pose. We were all seated together in a lovely room right in front of the cold buffet. The princesses came around and visited with the kids while they signed the autograph books. We saw Ariel, Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, Cinderella, and Belle. My 2 year old was in heaven. The princess parade was fun, but I thought it was more fun for my kids to sit in one spot and watch the parade. That way they could see all the princesses instead of walk around the restaurant with just one.

The hot meals were fine, but I think the really great food is in the cold food buffet. I had the salmon burger which was really good, much better than my husband's meatball lunch. The desserts were really yummy. We ate them all up.

This is a great place to meet the princesses, and the setting is lovely, and they were quick to seat us at our reservation time. The service was wonderful (our waiter Kim was fabulous) and we had a great time. It was very expensive, but that's to be expected at Disney!

Pros: Nice visiting with your regular Princesses, outstanding food
Cons: I was disappointed that Mulan wasn't there

This is my favorite place for Character dining easily. Honestly, I'm not that into Norwegian food, but since I'm very into princesses (I'm still a kid!) I enjoyed it. If you like fish, get the salmon. It's not too salty but it's very flavorful. The potatoes it comes with are delicious! You can get fruit, herring (my dad's favorite), asparagus, and other food at the buffet. The wait for our food wasn't too long at all, but even if it was, you wouldn't notice, the princesses will take care of that. I was slightly disappointed that Mulan wasn't at the restaurant, but she isn't really one of the "mainstream" princesses like Cinderella or Ariel. The princesses will sign your stuff and spend a couple minutes with you. It seemed every 5 minutes or so, a princess came to our table so kids should be occupied. Great food, great time, I recommend.

Pros: Service and Princess Interaction
Cons: Nothing

I absolutely loved my experience at Akerhus for dinner. We made our dinner reservation for 5:00 and arrived right when they opened. We were seated immediately and even got a seat right next to the cast door, which is where the princesses came out of. We were traveling with our soon to be three year old and found the interaction with the princesses to be outstanding. She had her initial picture with Belle and also got to four additional princesses. My husband and I had the beef tips, which were okay. I like traditional American food. I also made a huge salad from the salad bar which was good. I must admit I used the disney dining plan and didn't have to fork out the direct cash. I don't know if we would have attended at $46/plate. Recommendation: Get an early reservation!!!

Pros: Princesses, food, location
Cons:

We had dinner here on 4/3 and really enjoyed it. We found the food to be very good, and the princess interaction was great. DD LOVED meeting all of her idols, and getting the Belle pictures included was a nice added treat. We weren't on the dining plan (stayed offsite) so it was a bit pricey, but for those on the DDP, it's definitely a great value.

Pros: Characters, Food, Atmosphere
Cons: Tight Seating

Ate dinner at Akershus with my family on the last trip and had a great time. Even though my siblings and I are all adults, we enjoyed chatting with the princesses and they were always fun and in character. Each came around and was ready to have fun and take pictures with each of us in turn. I can only imagine the experience is even better for little kids. They also do a princess parade with the kids every so often which is really cute.

The food was good with a number of familiar options as well as some more traditional Scandanavian food, though none of it so far out of the realm of normal that you would be afraid to try it out. There was a small salad bar with cold salads, meats, fruit, cheese and bread, enough really to help keep you from being hungry while waiting for the princesses. I certainly enjoyed the food, though it clearly isn't on the same level as some of the better known restaurants in Epcot.

My only complaint is that the seating was a bit tight with tables around you and everyone getting up for pictures with the princesses. Though Crystal Palace is one of our favorite character meals and they have a similar problem.

Overall, this was a great meal and a nice change for character meals from the usual Big 5. I'd happily go back again and recommend this to any families.

Pros: princesses, food
Cons: none

We ate here March 10 for lunch. We had a very large group, but we were all quickly seated after checking in. The cold buffet was really good and I was pleasantly surprised at how good the food was. All the princess came around and signed autograph books and took pictures. It was really nice and we would go back.

Pros: Five princesses, great mixed drinks, friendly service
Cons: Long wait, fairly rushed, unevern food quality

We ate here for a late lunch on March 13. We had reservations for 3:05 and waited in line for twenty minutes just to check-in and then 20 more to be seated. Our family of five had a photo with Belle and then sat down right near the koltbord. The waitress was from Norway and was very friendly and the atmosphere was like that out of someones home dining room. The appetizer buffet had mainly different types of seafood and some rolls and cold cuts, nothing my kids liked. The menu offered mainly seafood with some other items. I got the roast chicken breast and thought it was good for a roast chicken, but nothing special. My husband ordered the pork stuffed pastry and what he got was two large meatballs covered in gravy. He was very disapointed. The mixed drinks were fantastic. When the princesses came out, they seemed to be very rushed. Jasmine, Ariel, and Snow White came over immediately, back-to-back, took a quick picture and signed autographs and moved on. Cinderella was on her way over to the table beside ours when she had to stop to partcipate in a princess parade through the entire room. When she got back, she remembered to go to the other table but forgot ours and we had to call her back. We were not impressed with the way they ran the show here, it took much longer than was neccessary and was not worth the very hefty price tag. My kids ordered cheese pizzas that were about the size of a very small salad plate and they were $23.00 a piece. They fill the restaurant up and do the princess show, then empty it out and wait to fill it up again, hence the rushed dinner and the long wait. We have eaten at Cinderella's Royal Table before and, although smaler, enjoyed that meal much more. I understand why this place is always a second choice.
