Pros: Princesses!
Cons: Terrible wait times!

We arrived approximately 20 minutes prior to our ADR of 6:30 on Nov 4th. We were not seated until almost an hour later! We were not offered any explanation or even given an apology. With 3 kids the age of 5, (total party size 5) it was frustrating and stressful to keep them entertained while we waited. There is absolutely no waiting area so dozens of families are forced to stand out in front of the restaurant and complain to each other. One other family waited 1 hr and 15 minutes, and was finally told, it was because of the party size we had to wait so long. Considering we had ADR, it wasn't like the restaurant had no idea what was booked for the day.

We felt like we were rushed through the picture process and the photographer only took one picture, so this left us with the same picture twice.

The food was average at best. While I like the idea of the 1st course buffet, the food was so so. I had the ravioli, which was good, but not good enough to wait that long. DGma had the beef, and was reported it was so-so. Kids meals were the same as all restaurants, and the kids pizza was noticeably smaller than in the past.

The interaction with the princesses is the only positive about our experience. We were visited by Cinderella, Snow White, Belle, Aurora, and a fantastic Ariel. They all spent considerable time with the kids, talking and playing.

Our server was great, friendly and made sure we had what we needed.

I would only recommend if you have the dining plan and a little princess of your own. Otherwise, skip it and spend more time in the park.

Pros: Great Value , tasty food, alot of Princess!!
Cons:

We had a late lunch here in Nov 2009, we had reservations at 3:05 , we were seated within 10 minutes of checking in. We used our DDP and this was only 1 credit, and came with a nice family shot with Belle that was taken on the way in. We thought the food was very yummy and the day we ate we got Belle, Snow White, Ariel in her gown, Aurora and Cinderela. We plan to come back next year and do breakfast here. Great Staff and we thought the service was great and wonderful fun.

Pros: princesses, picture with Belle
Cons: food

Our granddaughter loved seeing and talking to the princesses. We met Belle, Aurora, Cinderella, Snow White, and Ariel (our granddaughter's favorite). The picture was great and was glad it was included instead of $32 at other restaurants. The food was just ok, nothing special. The salmon is a salmon patty made with lots of filler. The child's pizza is tiny. If it wasn't for the princesses this restaurant would be empty. We were on the DDP so we were glad to take our granddaughter but wouldn't have been if we had had to pay $146 for lunch.

Pros: starter and dessert, character interaction and photo
Cons: main course was just average

First I will state that we did not book this venue for the food. We have visited twice before once for breakfast and once for dinner and returned for dinner on Friday 30th October.

DD has been hoping to see Ariel in her ballgown for the last two years and we were finally successful. We saw Belle out front for the 'complimentary' photo. Then saw Cinderella, Snow White and Sleeping Beauty and of course Ariel - hooray!!

We like the starters, the asparagus was a new addition for us. We enjoyed the fruit, cooked meats and my husband loves the peel shrimp.

The mixed desserts of rice cream (lovely) moist chocolate mousse cake and an apple pastry were very nice.

The only negative is the main course, the pasta and the chicken entree were fine but nothing special. Still a very good value meal for with the photo included.

Pros: The Princesses and the atmostphere
Cons: The food, the service

The buffet was barely edible, my kids barely ate anything (and they aren't picky at all) and the DH ate only salad, some cheese, and some of the cold meats that they served. As a matter of fact, the only person who got anything out of the dining experience was me -- at least I got my pictures with the princesses! Next time, I will find another way to get them and save myself the $147.00.

Pros: Food, Waitress, Princesses, Photos
Cons: table spacing was a little tight

Like other reviewers, we booked this dinner with the idea that we might be grabbing a counter service meal afterwards because we wouldn't like the food. It was a risk we were willing to take because our daughters (8, 6) have to see the Princesses each time we visit Disney. All that to say, it was worth the risk!! The entire experience was phenomenal from start to finish.

We arrived about fifteen minutes before our ADR (6:25pm on 10/20/09) to check in, and were called to be seated in the time it took me to take photos of the sign, building, and my girls in front of it. The girls got to meet Belle and spoke with her for a moment and then posed for photos. A photo package was included and delivered shortly into our meal.

Following the photos, we were immediately seated (just outside the door the princesses came out)and our waitress (Kristina) very promptly arrived at our table. She explained the cold bar, menu, and offered frank and personal suggestions for entrees, and took our drink orders. The cold bar was delicious and even my picky 8 year old found some things she liked. The fish choices were especially good. My husband adored the shrimp salad. Our drinks were on our table when we returned from the cold bar.

Kristina returned and we both ordered the pork chop and the girls ordered the grilled chicken. The pork chop was absolutely delicious with a delicious glaze, and was served with a cheesy potato gratin and asparagus that were even better. The girls' chicken with mashed potatoes and corn was good too and they enjoyed it. The dessert plate was yummy and included plain vanilla ice cream for my picky girls.

Kristina was super sweet and injected a very authentic nature to our Norweigian meal. We enjoyed interacting with her and learning about her native land. She was very attentive and even introduced me to my new addiction...an artesian water that is a product of Norway and is actually melted glacier water, called Voss. I've found it at Publix and it's the best water I've ever tasted! She brought us a complimentary bottle to try.

And now the princesses...I was on pins and needles hoping that my oldest would get to see Cinderella, and I think I was more excited than she was when she walked through the door! Aurora, Snow White, and Ariel also joined the meal. My girls were ecstatic! I couldn't have handpicked them better myself. They were so sweet and gracious to my girls and they made the experience perfect!

I know I'm raving...and trust me, I don't rave often...but this was truly a lovely evening. If you're hesitant at all, just make the reservation and enjoy!

Pros: Princesses
Cons: None

We ate dinner here on our first night at Disney 10/12. With 3 little girls, this was a no brainer for us.

Service: We waited for a very short period of time before being called for our reservation. Once inside, our waitress was very attentive and friendly.

Food: My wife and I expected to leave here hungry after all the reviews we read, however that was not the case. I had the pork chop, which I found to be quite tasty. The potatoes served with it were even better. My wife had the chicken and thought it was very good. Dessert is served family style. I had a little taste of each and thought it was all very good with the exception of the apple pastry. I'm not a big pastry person though, so that wasn't a big surprise. My wife and kids cleared the plate, so I think they approved of everything.

Princesses: They alone would be worth the trip if you have little girls. It was the highlight of our trip. 2 of my girls were celebrating their birthdays and all of the princesses made sure to acknowledge it. Ariel made the biggest impression as she is their favorite. She asked them if they had eaten plenty of seaweed birthday cake and dinglehoppers to celebrate. She also took the time to explain to my oldest why she doesn't swim in pools. Like I said, this is an absolute must do for small girls.

Pros: Great variety of food, and a chance to try something different.
Cons: No seating available while you wait.

We dined at Akershus fairly late on Friday, October 2 to celebrate our anniversary. Belle was very believably in character and quite patient while my DH had difficulty with our camera. The variety of foods available on the appetizer buffet could have provided a reasonable meal in and of themselves - DH particularly appreciated the smoked salmon. The Kjottkake was delicious, and dessert was wonderful, although they substituted an apple pastry for the cheesecake listed on the menu here. Though our server was still "earning her ears," she did a marvelous job of keeping an eye on us and making sure that we didn't need anything.

We received visits from Mulan, Cinderella, Snow White and Ariel, who were great fun. As adults, I think we got a little less time from Cinderella and Snow White than the little kids at neighboring tables, but we probably weren't playing along as well. Generally, they were all very personable and friendly, if a bit tired toward the end of their shifts. Wink

Pros: great food, great character interactions
Cons: meal was extremely rushed

My husband and I ate here for lunch in late September. Even though we have no children yet, I was excited to meet the princesses!!

We were seated very close to our reservation time. We met Belle at a meet and greet on the way in and got our photos with her halfway through our meal.

The cold appetizer bar was delicious! Lots to chose from, all tasty. We had only taken a few bites of our salads when our meals were brought out. We both ordered the Traditional Kjottkaker which is basically meatballs in gravy. It was excellent!! It came with mashed potatoes and asparagus, also very good. Our plates were cleared and our dessert was brought over about 30 seconds later. Dessert is served family style on one plate. We were given chocolate cake, rice cream and an apple tart. All three were delicious!

After dessert, the princesses finally entered our room. It was Snow White, Cinderella, Aurora and Ariel in her ball gown! They were all super friendly. There was a little girl at the table next to us who was fun to watch. The princesses would kneel down to her level and spend several minutes talking with her. It was very sweet. They were equally as nice to me as well- a grown up!

Our meal was excellent, one of the best we had that week. It was however extremely rushed. You might like this if you have small children but if you would like to take your time, my suggestion would be to go up to the appetizer bar first, eat your salads, etc, and then put in your meal order. Other than that, no complaints and I would definitely return!

Pros: The food was good
Cons: Outside waiting system-or lack of it!

I read so many reviews for this place but my daughter wanted to see the Princesses for her birthday so went ahead and booked it. I thought the food would be terrible- we'd all be hungry after and annoyed we'd spent all that money just for a couple of photos! HOW WRONG WAS I!!

The reviews were, in my opinion, a little exaggerated. Yes the food was strange but in my opinion, in a good way. The buffet was good- nice to see lots of healthy salads and fish- the type we eat. (The menu was a welcomed change from the usual American style food- which is good but a variety is nice.) The food was delicious! I had the chicken which was gorgeous. Another family member had the veal sauasges which was again gorgeous and well cooked. The desserts were amazing, just ashame i didn't have enough room to eat them all!

Yes, this was expensive but for all you had, it was worth it. To experience a different style of food along with Belle, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Ariel and Marry Poppins was worth every penny!

I will definitely be doing this one again next May. The only down side was the outside waiting system but once inside all was forgotten. Please give this one a try.

Pros: good food, very sweet princesses
Cons: None

We had a wonderful experience dining here on the night of Sept. 29th, 2009. The princesses were all wonderful w/ my child (almost 3) but especially Cinderella who gave her some very sweet extra attention and a hug and a kiss on the forehead. Our daughter's face just lit up for the whole evening. This restaurant was by far the highlight of the 5 we dined at w/ reservations. Thank you so much for a great time!! And good food. (a rare find w/ both!)

Pros: the princesses
Cons: the wait even with reservations

My family and I had reservations on 8/26 for the lunch at 1:45 pm. We had to wait for another 45 minutes to get into eat lunch. We also had to wait by the door to hear our name called, because there was no other way to be contacted. We went in and the food was decent but I was not impressed. The waitress even commented that she was from Norway, and would not eat this food. Our niece and nephew would not even eat most of the food. I would not recommend this other than the lovely princess photo opportunities and the photo gifts.

Pros: Princesses, Food, and Waitress
Cons: None

Ate here in mid Aug. Great experience. Loved meeting the characters. We saw Belle, Ariel, Snow White, Aurora, and Cinderella. The food was good! Our waitress was fantastic. Would highly recommend this, even if you are unsure about the 'Norwegian' food. Only slight negative was check-in and getting the photo package. It was raining, so a lot of people were taking cover inside, so it made for confusion where we wait. Had to wait 15/20min to be called to get in line to get our photo taken. We were a little annoyed at first, but realized it is because they seat people in sets, so they can keep track of who the characters visit. It was worth the wait! If you love WDW Princesses, this place is for you!

Pros: excellent food and theming, characaters are great,
Cons: check in is confusing

Ate dinner here at 9/17 and loved it!! We were seated in the back but right near the door were the princesses first walked out. We were the second table they visited. We saw Belle, Jasmine, Pocahontas, Cinderella and Ariel. The cold buffet was good, could use a few more choices. We had seared-herb dusted beef tips and traditional kjottkake both were very delicious. Kids had cheese pizza and mickey ravioli. Our server Espen was very nice. Dessert is a platter to share, the apple tart and the mousse are delicious, think the rice cream is an acquired taste. We didn't quite care for it.

Check in is very confusing and chaotic. Needed a better area to do it all.

Pros: Good food and great character interaction
Cons: None

Had dinner here for the first time with our two kids, ages 7 and 9, boy and girl. Both kids mesmerized by the Princesses, who spent lots of time with each child. The photo that comes with dinner was fantastic. The cold appetizer bar was really good and different. My son loved the boiled shrimp. My husband and I both had the Pork Shank which was very good and tender. Kids had Pizzas. Dessert also very good. We had a very good meal here. May try breakfast next trip.
