This was our second dinner at Akershus, and the experience wasn't quite as good as the last time (2 years ago). We waited a bit in the check in line and then to meet Belle, which was not a big deal. However, once we were seated, all 4 princesses came to our table within about 10 minutes, before we even had a chance to order dinner, so we were rushing around trying to get settled, look at the menu, and take pictures. I also don't think they spent the same amount of time interacting as they did the last time. During the princess parade, my husband went to take a picture of our DD, and was told that they would come to our area, so he could sit down...but they didn't, so we missed out on that photo op. It was her birthday, so she got to be the leader. Once we ordered and got our food, everything was delicious, and we also enjoyed the cold buffet while we were waiting. My DD got a cupcake for dessert with a candle in it, and a card signed by all the princesses, so that was a nice touch. Our server was nice, but once he cleared the dinner dishes, it took a LONG time to get dessert, all of the other tables around us ate their, paid, and were gone before we got ours. This is still a nice alternative to Cinderella's Royal Table, but we may try breakfast next time.

We dined recently at Akershus for lunch. We dine here every trip and vary our meals between breakfast, lunch and dinner. Love them all! We chose a late lunch seating and enjoyed the fresh cold bar filled with salads, meats, cheese and Norweigan delicacies. I had the open faced beef sandwich served with cauliflower soup. It was wonderful. My daughter had the Traditional Kjottkake - Norwegian meatballs and she loved them. My younger daughter ordered an adult portion of the Mickey cheese ravioli that is served on the children's menu. No problems getting a substitution for her. The princesses make their rounds and it is rushed but enough time to say hello and snap a quick picture. We really love the food here and would dine even without the princesses.

I have enjoyed all three meals at Akershus but this time it was dinner. I love the way they do the appetizer course as a buffet. My kids ate more this way and I felt like it was a better value. Salmon and Mushroom Pasta were both good. This venue is well lit and the princess are very friendly. I also like that they include the photo package with the princess, Belle, as a gift!

We came here for dinner after a bad breakfast experience a few years ago. The characters were fantastic, the service was great. The food wasn't bad, but was saltier than I would have preferred. I enjoyed this one better than Cinderella's Table, and all the same characters were at this one, including Cinderella! Would definitely do this with my daughter again, but will probably try breakfast next time.

Princess interaction was exceptional. They went out of their way to add something personalized to each conversation, like my just college graduated son graduating from "knight" school. Cold buffet was popular and therefore got picked over quickly.
Hot food was good and varied.

DO NOT MAKE RESERVATIONS ON THE DISNEY APP. I made reservations on the Disney app for Germany and Mexico. At both places I was told they didn't have my reservation. I had my confirmation number and the hostess at Akershus typed in my confirmation number and said, "oh your on the other system", whatever that means? We were the last to be seated. Same thing happen in Mexico but the hostess didn't type in the confirmation number, we got lucky and she sat us for dinner in 20 min. I made the reservations on the APP three days prior.

Our kids are older, so the characters weren't the main draw. I will say that Ariel was FANTASTIC. She was hospitable and more real than the others and didn't try to talk down to my teens, but engaged them. I loved her! The food was good and we really enjoy going out of the comfort zone. Our waiter seemed new and maybe a bit nervous. They have some really terrible seating options and tried to put us at one of them. Speak up if you aren't pleased - it's a lot of money for a meal that is uncomfortable. I'm not sure why they put people literally on top of the salad bar with no ambiance whatsoever!

We dined here (3 adults and two children aged 8 and 4) the last Thursday of November for dinner. It was something new for us to try and since we have two little boys we weren't sure how it would go. Let me just say, even if you only have little boys, DO this princess meal. My boys loved the food and they loved the character interaction. Two adults got the beef tips and they were very good and one adult got the mushroom pasta (which was a favorite of the three of us). One son got the kids salmon, which he loved and the other got a hot dog.
The cold bar was fantastic and we even got to try some traditional Norwegian cheese that was brown in color, but that we really liked a lot. My oldest son even tried smoked salmon (he wasn't too fond of it)
The character interaction was great and the princesses tended to dote on my boys since they were the only little boys in our section. My youngest even got a "lipstick kiss" on his cheek from Snow White.
We will definitely be going back here again!

We dined here on December 9. The party included myself, my husband, my daughter (age 2), my mother, my father, and my grandmother. This was the first time that any of us dined here. It has become a favorite of all of ours and a must-do for all future trips.
We had our photo taken with Belle. She was very kind and played her role well. Our waitress was named Syvonne and was absolutely fantastic at her job. She did an excellent job of explaining to us how the dinner worked and what to expect with the food. Our drinks never sat empty. Our meal started out with a cold appetizer bar which consisted of various salads, meats, and cheese. I especially enjoyed the caramelized goat cheese and the shrimp salad - and I am not even a big fan of shrimp! My father raved about the smoked salmon. It was also very easy to find things that my daughter would enjoy eating.
For our entrees, everyone either had the pan-seared salmon or the kjottkake (meatballs). The salmon was very good and flavorful. I loved the quinoa that is was served on, as well as the vegetables. I sampled the meatballs, as well, and think that I liked those a bit more. Large servings, as well. The desserts were served family style, which I enjoyed as we got to sample everything. The apple cake was probably my favorite, but I must also rave about the rice pudding. I have never like rice pudding, but found this to be very good. We also had a chocolate mousse, but as I am not a fan of chocolate, I cannot rave about it. It was, however, my mother's favorite.
I would come back just for the food, but the character interaction was superb. Cinderella, Snow White, Ariel, and Sleeping Beauty were all making the rounds. Snow White is a favorite of my daughters. My daughter has a speech delay and is also very shy. This means that she hardly ever speaks and when she does, most people outside her family have a very difficult time understanding her. Because of this, when Snow White showed up and my daughter was so star struck that she couldn't speak, we weren't surprised, but we were a bit disappointed. Snow White was excellent, though, and told her that Bashful is one of her favorite dwarfs and that my daughter reminded her of him. Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty were also equally good. The real star in our eyes, though, was Ariel. She somehow got my daughter to come out of her shell and speak. She was so good with her! When it came time for the princess parade, Ariel came and took my daughter by the hand and personally guided her along the parade. Because my daughter had found the courage to speak, she started asking us for Snow White again. She kept saying "Snow White. Snow White PLEEEEEEASE." Ariel heard this and told us that she would ask Snow White to return to our table. She did. For the rest of our trip, all my daughter could talk about was Ariel and Snow White.
We will definitely be back.

Visited on 10/15. Daughter LOVED the princesses. Adults loved the food. I had the mushroom pasta which was excellent but I really enjoyed the buffet before the meal with the cheeses, salads, and seafood. Each princess came around. Didn't feel rushed and kids even got to do princess processional around the room. Only complaint was that the lighting was dark which made it hard to video. 3rd time here and will be back.

Party of 5 (me, DH, DD6, DS8, Gmom) had lunch here on a Sunday afternoon in September (during Free Dinig Promo). We arrived early as suggested (15 minutes) and were seated at our reservation time. Our server was very nice and attentive. The food was ok - we liked the cold buffet and loved the desserts! It was my birthday and I had on my birthday button from my resort - the server brought me a special cupcake (nothing special taste wise but very thoughtful) and all the Princesses wished me a very happy birthday. My daughter loved this meal experience, as we loved seeing 5 Princesses without standing in line! This was a nice meal, very worth it if you are on the meal plan (1 table service credit).

BFF (32) had her birthday dinner on 10/3 @ Akershus. This was her pick and I was happy to oblige. We checked in on time and didn't wait too long to be seated. The Belle line went smoothly and they allowed us to use our own cameras. They also give you the photos as part of your meal price. Which is nice. Everywhere else wanted us to pay more for the photo.
The cold buffet was pretty tastey. I Pasta salad was very good and at our waitresses suggestion we tried the norwegian cheese. I loved it. Bff got the beef tips which I sampled and I thought were over seasoned. I got the meatballs which were ok but nothing spectacular. The portion size on each were very small. BFF said we were supposed to be eating like princess'... Everyone raved about the Princess pockets but personally I thought the chocolate mousse was the best.
The princesses were awesome. We got to see everyone (Ariel, Aurora, Cinderella and Snow White) They treated us like all the other little girls even though we were 2 grown women out for my friends birthday.
I don't think I'd go back for the food...but I would for the experience

Our first time visiting Akershus and we were fairly impressed, fairly. We were called on time for our reservation so that was a good thing. Greeters were pleasant and did not make us feel rushed.
If you want princess interactions, this is one of the places to hit. We met Belle, Cinderella, Ariel, Snow White, and Aurora. Meetings were quick, simple hello and picture opportunity but the kids completely enjoyed all of them. There is a princess parade that the children join through the restaurant which looked like a mob of kids walking aimlessly through a crowded restaurant not really sure what they were supposed to do. Good picture opportunity though.
Picture with Belle when you enter is priceless. Included in the price of the meal, you receive one 5x7 and four 4x6 photos and our picture was really great. We were not rushed during the picture and they allowed us to take our own pictures at the same time they took theirs. I noticed other places charging extra for the pictures so this was a great deal, especially if you are using your dining plan.
The food is truly less than desirable. I had the mushroom ravioli and my husband had the chicken. Both very small portions; we left hungry as did our kids. My daughter had the hot dog; burnt on one side and once she ate it (after I cut the burnt parts off) she asked for another one. My son had the pizza which is the exact pizza served all through Disney so nothing special there. My favorite was the cold asparagus on the self serve bar (I'm a vegetarian) and the salad, which was fresh.
Overall, a good experience but could use a food upgrade. Also, tables are very close to each other (to fit as many people as possible) so you feel like you are sitting on top of your neighbor. Kids loved meeting the princesses and that made the whole thing worthwhile.
Definitely a place to hit, especially to see the princesses but probably won't visit a second time.

We had a good dining experience here. The buffet didn't have a huge selection but everything we had was very good. The goat cheese was unlike any I've ever had. The bread was a little hard. DH had the pork dish and he was very pleased. I had the meatballs which were delicious, though I never could pronounce the name. DS 10 had the pizza which he said was better than most. DD 7 had the salmon and she really liked it. Our waitress was attentive without rushing us. The chocolate dessert was the best.
The best part was the princesses. Though we didn't get much time with Belle, we did get to visit with Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Ariel & Cinderella. I was surprised that Cinderella was there. My daughter loved meeting so many princesses. Even DS got into the act by posing with the ladies.
The only down side for us was how rude some customers were. They would try to squeeze between my chair & the 8 person table right next to me. They were bumping into me all night to get to the buffet without a single apology. But that isn't Disney's fault.

We had dinner at Akershus on Sept. 14, 2012. We were able to call earlier in the same day and get an 8:10pm reservation. When we realized we would miss the evening show if we waited until 8:10, we decided to arrive early to see if they could get us in. We arrived about 7:20 and got in 10 minutes later. We did not feel rushed at all in our photo session with Belle, and they brought us our photos even before our meal arrived.
The buffet was fresh and my husband, son (7 yrs) and I all found food we enjoyed on it. The chef was very helpful with adjusting menu items to fit my son and husband's special diet needs (gluten free, milk free, soy free). Husband ordered Salmon and was very please with it. I got the Traditional Kjottkake - Norwegian meatballs served with Mashed Potatoes, seasonal Vegetables (green beans), and Lingonberry Sauce. When I tasted each thing separately, they were nothing special, but when I ate a little of each thing in one bite, it rivaled the prime rib I had at Le Cellier - very yummy. My son also got the meatballs (plain). The dessert was also very good and the chef prepared a special sorbet for my son and husband that was a big hit.
During our meal, we were visited by lovely princesses including Ariel, Aurora, Cinderella, and Snow White. Each took unrushed time with my son, speaking with him, signing autographs and posing for pictures.
All in all, it was a very positive experience, and we would definitely go back! If your little ones love princesses, it is a great place to go and a much easier reservation than many other restaurants (especially the character meals).
