Pros: atmosphere
Cons: food, hectic waiting area

Ate here on 11/13/09 for dinner with DH, DD9 and DD7. Tony's has always been a favorite of ours in past visits and it is one restaurant we always make sure to have a reservation at when we visit. Unfortunately this visit was far below our expectations. Our server was OK but she seemed more interested in getting us out then providing good service. Myself and DH had the strip steak which were both chewy and fatty. DD9 had spaghetti and meatball and DD7 penne with a side of marinara sauce. DD9 complained about the taste of the spaghetti and sauce but still ate most of it. DD7 enjoyed her penne. I had the lemon walnut cake for dessert and enjoyed it. DH had the espresso tiramasu and also enjoyed it. The food here has always been excellent but for some reason it was not up to par on this visit, except for the desserts. The waiting area for tables was extremely hectic and disorganized. We will probably give Tony's another chance on our next visit as this has always been one of our favorites but the quality of the food will have to improve greatly to ensure future visits.

Pros: Atmosphere
Cons: Very rushed

We had a late lunch ADR as part of the DDP on the 13th. The restaurant was not crowded by any means by mid afternoon and we were seated within 5 minutes. Service was fine but not on par with other "table service" restaurants around the parks. Food was good, not fantastic. When visiting the parks it is great not to have to sit in a place for hours waiting for food but this was a little too rushed for us. My DW, DD15 and myself all ordered soup which was delivered almost immediately. Within 3 minutes, our entree was brought to the table. It was fine as part of the DDP but I would have been unhappy if paying full price. I will say that the food is pretty equal to any of the restaurants in Magic Kingdom.

Pros: Pretty good food, kids loved it
Cons:

Well, it's not exactly the best Italian food you're ever going to have. Probably on par with Olive Garden. But the food is decent and they do a good job of getting you in and out so you can get to the park.

Pros: Great theme, Kids loved it!
Cons: needs a good cleaning, painting,

I had never known that there was a place to eat right as you walked into MK. The atmosphere was just like the movie, Lady and the Tramp. The kids were the ones that wanted to eat here. The food was ok, not great, but not bad. The kids liked the "Sketti" and the Mickey shaped cheese ravioli. The only downer was that the menu was old and sticky, the windows had a picture of Lady and the Tramp and the paint was peeling off. Our seat cushion was old and had tons of stains. It just needed a good scrubbing and some tlc.

Pros: Great food, great service, great handling allergies
Cons: None

For Tony's make sure you make reservations when you plan your trip so you can be sure to get a table! Our family always makes sure to plan at least one sit down dinner and we always end up picking Tony's. The service is ALWAYS excellent and this is based on about 8 times in the past few years.

My sister has a severe nut allergy and we make sure to mention this upon making our reservation. As soon as they call our name they confirm that someone in our party has an allergy and the chef has ALWAYS come out to speak to my sister and let her know what items on the menu are safe. Anyone with severe food allergies knows how important it is to have understanding servers/kitchen staff.

They have a good selection of pasta, chicken, seafood etc. For four of us 2 appetizers, 4 meals and drinks it usually comes to about $100.00 plus tip which we find to be reasonably priced. It is a relaxing atmosphere and well worth it!

Pros: Service, food
Cons: Nothing

We at here on a spur of the moment kind of thing. No ressies just a "let me run in here and see if they can get us in" kind of thing. We waited comfortably in their lobby for about 15 mins and was seated right by the entrance to the restaraunt. Wasn't thrilled with that, but I wasn't going to complain because they did me a favor by seating me.

DH had the Panini of the Day (ham and cheese) and I had a spinich calzone. DH forgot to ask what came on the panini and when it showed up it had mayo on it so he had to send it back. Our server took it back and brought out a fresh one, no problem. That earned BIG POINTS for him! My calzone was perfectly made, and the marinara sauce was very tasty...it didn't have that fresh out of the jar taste that some places have.

I think with our meals and 1 alchoholic drink was about $60 including tip.

Pros: much improved since last few visits
Cons: On par with Macaroni Grill/Olive Garden

When we got to Tony's we were about a half hour early and when I tried to check in, the CM pretty much told me she isn't going to check me in and that I have to come give our name again in 20 mins. Hmph! NOT off to a good start guys! I was already iffy about eating here since we only had so-so experiences in the past. Oh well. Checked in for a second time and we went into the waiting area and had a seat and only waited a few minutes for our name to be called. We were sat all the way in the back in a comfy booth kinda by the kitchen. It wasn't a problem though because we were out of everyone's way and it was crowded in there!

Our waitress came out and was pretty friendly. She made some suggestions about what she liked and took our drink orders.

We decided to try something that was new on the menu... Breaded Zucchini Sticks. They were pretty decent! Not too greasy and were nice and crunchy yet the zucchini was soft inside. The marinara sauce tasted better than what I remember at Tony's so not sure if they changed it slightly? I tried a few pieces and mom ate the rest. She really enjoyed it.

I decided on the Insalata Alla Caprese...on Allears it's called...Tomato and Mozzarella Salad.
Now I think the description on Allears is slightly different than what we had. The description sounds like what I had a few years back... tiny mozz balls tossed with grape tomatoes and dressing. What we were served today was a million times better! This was a large piece of mozz cut into slices with a large ripe tomato...all drizzled with oil and balsamic glaze, topped with sliced raw onions and served with large garlic croutons/bread. This was also tasty and good. The mozz was pretty fresh and the tomatoes were definitely ripe. They went well with the balsamic glaze. I was pleasantly surprised with it.

For entrees mom chose the Eggplant Catasta (Stack). To me, this looked like some kind of version of eggplant parmigiana... I don't really think their fresh mozz was the same that they had on the appetizer. This was definitely grated mozz that you get from a bag it seemed. Also didnt see any caramelized onions. The pasta was pretty bare but turns out the sauce was hiding under everything. Mom said if she was going to have more pasta, she would have asked for more sauce but she mainly ate just the eggplant. She said it wasn't mushy like sometimes fried eggplant can get and said she'd get it again.

Against my better judgment, I listened to the waitress and ordered the Chicken Parmigiana. How was it? I was pleasantly surprised again! The sauce wasn't runny like last time...the same marinara from the zucchini sticks. The chicken was well seasoned and moist. The pasta I honestly don't remember too much about. It wasn't mushy though, that I would remember!

For desert mom chose the Spumoni..It was typical spumoni...the ice cream wasn't anything AMAZING but mom enjoyed it. She ate all the pistachio and chocolate and left the vanilla.

I was going to pass on dessert until I heard the dessert of the day...Chef's Signature Cheesecake and it was.....Pumpkin Cheesecake!!!!! I LOVE anything pumpkin and this got me excited. I also ordered a coffee. I asked before ordering and the waitress said that the coffee is fresh brewed. Nice! Yet another surprise because last trip there it was still that gross Nescafe stuff.

This was... delicious! I actually barely ate the crust on the bottom but that was also very good. I just really wanted to savor the cheesecake part. Not too overpowering on the spices and just sweet enough. I could have this dessert every day. MMMMMM!!

Oh...we also got a bottle of Evian included with the dining plan. After we agreed to it I realized that this is just the server's ploy all around Disney to get more tip money. No one really NEEDS the bottle of Evian but..it's an extra dollar tip for them, right? I noticed servers all around us throughout the whole week pushing the bottles of water and bottles of juices. Smart move on their part...but we fell for it a few times. Oh well.

We were pleasantly surprised with Tony's this time around. It still isn't real authentic Italian food but it's finally starting to compete with the Olive Garden's and Macaroni Grill's of the world. We'd definitely eat here again...but sadly only because we're not that blown away by any other TS in the MK either. This is the best of the bunch that we've found.

Pros: a pretty place
Cons: none

We had a lovely, late lunch there. The food was very good. Service was a little quirky with a Chinese waitress who could barely speak English and that with a tiny voice that was not loud enough to make out anything she said. We managed.

Oh, maybe one thing could change. We waited outside, sitting in the rocking chairs, to be called for our table and missed the announcement of our name. Maybe someone can procure a microphone for the front desk Wink

Pros: Food and Service
Cons: Nothing

DH and I ate at Tony's on 9/15. We originally were not planning on going to any of the parks on this day, so we did not have an ADR. It was our anniversary and Lady and the Tramp is special to us, so we went to the restaurant and asked if they would be able to work us in. They were able to and we were seated very quickly. We both had the Chicken Parmesean. My husband had the Tiramasu for dessert and I had the Pistachio Creme Brulee. Everything was delicious. Our Server was great about anticipating everything we made need. Tony's very much added to making our anniversary special. We will gladly go back.

Pros: Baked Ziti
Cons:

We love Tony's Town Square and usually eat here each trip for lunch. It is probably one of the more over-looked dining places in WDW. Nothing fancy, just quality Italian food and not too fancy. I highly recommend the Baked Ziti and the Vanilla Gelato is delicious.

Pros: Great Atmosphere
Cons: No birthday singing

When planning for our family vacation this year, I allowed each member to pick a specific restaurant that they wanted to experience. Our Oldest picked Tonys to celebrate her 29th birthday in. After reading the reviews on this site I was a little skeptical, but I thought, well its her choice so I won't put my two cents in. When we arrived, we were seated within 5 minutes of our reservation time. As requested, by our daughter, we were seated near the fountain in the garden room. The table was nicely decorated and the CMs were very attentive. The service was great and the meals were absolutely some of the best that we have had in Disney. No complaints from anyone and that is unusual, we have some picky eaters. Desert was extremely tasty, I had the pistachio creme brulee, we also had the ice cream bomb and pumpkin cheese cake mousse at our table. The birthday girl ordered the chocolate bomb, it came out w/a candle in it, but no singing.....she was disappointed, she likes the extra attention. The room we sat in was filled w/Lady and the Tramp Lithographs and nicely decorated w/flowers and other greenery. We were even able to find a hidden Mickey in the rose arrangements. The bathrooms were a bit small but very clean. This was a great location as we were able to go right out front of the restaurant to watch the Spectro Magic parade after dinner. I will definitely recommend this dining establishment to all my friends who visit MK.

Pros: excellent food, great service
Cons: can be loud

My husband and I had dinner here in late September. After our trip, and 8 sit down meals, we both chose this as one of our favorites!

Our server Amy was 'earning her ears' here at Tonys but had been a server at another Disney restaurant. She was excellent and helped make our night as special as it was. We were seated at a table all the way in the back corner which was good as the restaurant can get very noisy.

I ordered the chicken parm with spaghetti and it was excellent! My husband had the boneless short ribs which came with butternut squash and broccolini. We liked that it came with 2 vegetables since veggies are often hard to come by in Disney! He loved his dinner as well.

For dessert, my husband ordered the pumpkin cheesecake and I was torn between the pistachio creme brule and the granny smith apple sorbet. I finally chose the brule. When Amy brought out our desserts she brought me both the brule and the sorbet so I could try both! This was really nice of her. All 3 desserts were awesome.

This was by far one of our favorite meals of our trip and I can't wait to go back someday.

Pros: Great location
Cons:

Ate here on Wed October 7th. We were seated a few minutes after our reservation. I had the New York Strip, not much fat on the steak. My husband had the shrimp scampi. We both enjoyed the meal. We each had the chocolate bomb, it was just ok. Our drinks were filled quickly and the atmosphere was nice.

Pros: Great food, atmosphere & location
Cons: None

We only chose to eat here because there were no openings at 1900 Park Fare & it was most convenient, as we spent the day at the MK. Going in I thought it would be average (based on reviews I read on allears), but it exceeded my expectations. The spaghetti & meatballs were great! & the Pistachio Creme Brulee was to die for! We had a seat right by the window overlooking main street. It was a nice atmosphere and it was so nice to eat right in the park. I would recommend this place! (If we had been seated in the other dining room it may have been less enjoyable, because it seemed louder and darker when I walked through there)

Pros: Huge portions, vegetarian options, waitstaff
Cons: Loud; tiny restrooms

Dinner, 3 adults, not on DDP, 9/18/2009. It's been a few years since I've dined at Tony's. Not much has changed (that's a good thing). The wait was minimal (a few minutes), and our table was decorated ahead of time on account of my and my twin sister's birthday. Nice touch! As a vegetarian, it was nice having a couple of different entree options on the menu (this is not always the case in WDW, although WDW is pretty veg-friendly). The entree portions were enormous!!! None of us could finish our dinners. Food quality was good. Like other restaurants in the Magic Kingdom, the food is comforting and pleasant rather than innovative and exceptional(and that's just fine). Our waitress (very sweet and efficient but I can't recall her name) brought out complimentary ice cream for dessert (for the b-days). Although we were too stuffed to make a dent in the ice cream, it was a really thoughtful gesture. My only complaints are that the restaurant can become very loud and the ladies room is tiny (necessitating a wait outside).
