We have been lucky enough to visit twice and have a third booked. Simply put, Disney perfection. The characters including Captain Hook and Mr. Smee (because pirates in the Caribbean ha ha), even do photo ops in their beach gear in a few spots. The water is the most beautiful blue, everything is very highly maintained and the food, yum! We did the exclusive Castaway Cay 5k the first time and snorkelled the second eating at the adult area both times. Absolutely fantastic experiences both times, we can hardly wait to get back.

Pros:

Family beaches and activities but also adult exclusive area. We don’t have kids and thoroughly enjoyed both. Walkable but they do offer a tram service too which is nice at the end of the day.

Cons:

None. Disney has hit it out of the park. We love it!

We did the bike trail, snorkeled (sea turtles!!), sat with our feet in the sand reading, hung in hammocks, drank fruity boozy punches, had yummy soft serve ice cream, walked over to Serenity Bay just to see it. Had a nice bit of fish and salad from Cookies Too. We stayed until about 30 minutes before all aboard, just enjoying the day.

Pros:

Beautiful beach Lots to do Good food Great drinks

Cons:

None

Our favorite day of the cruise. I would highly recommend renting a tube. Snorkeling is completely worth the upcharge. Castaway Cay is definitely a must do!

Pros:

Very relaxing, plenty of seating, clear water, fantastic ice cream

Cons:

The bathrooms can be hard to find if you are in a pinch. The snorkeling is farther out than it looks and may be difficult for weak swimmers

We very nearly didn't get to actually visit the island, due to arriving at the beginning of October and the tail end of a huge hurricaine. The weather was gorgeous as we sailed in and docked, but by the time we had finished breakfast, you couldn't see the island for the rain and mist! The gangplank was closed and the island evacuated, so we pottered about the ship until just after lunchtime, when the storm had passed and the island reopened - hurray!

We were the first people off the ship, and we splashed through the puddles to the waiting trams. We were originally going to head round to the adults-only beach, as we are a married couple with no children, but given that we only had 2 hours left before the ship was due to leave, we got off the tram at the very first stop, which was the Family beach. We LOVED this beach! There were lots of sun loungers, and the sea was glorious - warm, not too deep too quickly, and as we paddled around in waist-deep water, we watched blue and yellow fishes swimming around our legs. It was paradise!

After just over an hour, we wrapped up in towels and explored the small store, buying a t-shirt and pin for DH, and some fridge magnets. Unfortunately, we didn't get to check out the dining options, but overall we absolutely loved this island and would love to return there someday.

Pros:

Peace and quiet, luxurious beach, lots of sun loungers, warm, blissful water with a gentle slope from the beach meaning it felt safe. Brilliant store, lots of choices for such a small place!

Cons:

Absolutely none, apart from being held hostage by the weather!

I went to the cay with my family. They are all water babies and they really loved it. Except for the childcare center, which was nowhere near as good as on the ship. I am not a water baby. I enjoyed my lunch and took a tour of the cay, but there wasn't much for me to do. I ended up going back to the ship early where I reaped the benefits of having so many people gone - lots of room for those who stayed on the ship. Next time I go, I think that I will go there for lunch (different variety of food than on the ship) and then return to the ship and enjoy it in its uncrowded version.

Pros:

good lunch, leaves more room on the ship

Cons:

not a place for non-water babies

Castaway cay is amazing!!! We went to Serenity Bay the adult only area and had a cabana. It was totally worth the money. Shade, comfy chairs & a fridge. The beach was great too.

What an awesome way to spend our final day on the cruise! We were able to watch the docking and sailing away happen from our aft, port side room. We disembarked around 9:30 to make it to our 10am Castaway Ray’s excursion. Took the tram to the first stop and the Family Beach closest to Ray’s and the snorkel beach had plenty of open chairs, even close to the water!

The water was so clear and beautiful. Our cruise director said this was the nicest weather the Wonder had encountered at Castaway in several weeks so we were thrilled! Even wandering down to the far end of the Family Beach after lunch, we saw many open lounge chairs, though I imagine it gets fuller when the two larger ships dock.

We didn’t make it down to Pelican Plunge, Serenity Bay or the observation tower as we had some more things we wanted to do on the ship. Next time I’ll definitely try to spend the entire day on the island.

We did browse the merchandise shops and the selection was okay but didn’t find anything that really called to me so I didn’t end up making any purchases.

The merchandise wasn’t

Pros:

Clean, beautiful, relaxing
