Pros: Fresh and delicious!
Cons: None

Organic Chicken and Ruby Red Grapefruit Salad on shredded savoy cabbage with mustard-grapefruit dressing. This salad was fresh, delectable, and such a treat! I drank a Pisco sour (a little heavy on the bitters but otherwise very good), and for dessert had warm, gooey, lemon pound-cake with marinated blueberries and chantilly cream. This was a delicious lunch. I can't wait to eat here again.

Pros: great wine selection, delicious food
Cons: slow but enjoyable dining experience

We dined at Carthay Circle in July. The restaurant itself is beautiful and the service was wonderful. We're from the east coast and found the experience to be a little slow but since we were on vacation we didn't mind. The wine selection was wonderful, specializing in California wineries. The menu offered a very good selection - not your typical menu - which we enjoyed. I had chicken meatballs with pasta and my husband had the lamb dish which he claims was the best he ever had. For a park dining experience, Cathay more than exceeded our expectations. We wish we could dine here again.

Pros: beautiful restaurant
Cons: long wait despite reservation

Booked here to take advantage of World of Color dinner package. We really wanted to enjoy this meal. It's a beautiful building - perhaps a little too fancy for us. Thankfully there wasn't a dress code. Our waitress was terrific. Knowledgeable about the menu and happy to make recommendations.
I loved the firecracker duck wings appetizer but I ended up eating three appetizers because my wife didn't care for hers (gorditas)and my daughter didn't like hers (a lot of "different" greens in that salad) either. I'm not too picky and I really don't like leaving a huge amount of food on the plate. It's not a question of paying for it - I just feel like it's rude to not eat what you're served.
I liked my entree - halibut. Good, not great though. My wife had cavatelli pasta with lamb and I again ate a bunch of it because while she said she liked it she left a whole bunch in the bowl. The girls both liked their pappardelle pasta and meatballs - good thing...I'm not sure I could have eaten too much more!
I ordered Walt's choice of drink - Scotch Mist-which I enjoyed. Overall, I will recommend Carthay because I felt it was good but be forewarned, if you have picky eaters you may want to try somewhere else!

Regarding WofC: eating at Carthay allows for early entrance to get a choice spot for WofC. There is a roped off area accessible to only those with dinner passes. There are still areas not accessible - not sure what you need to do to be able to stand there. There are no seats, everyone is standing which was fine. Too close and you're going to get wet! The show is DEFINITELY WORTH SEEING!! Take advantage and go to dinner here or at one of the other dinner package restaurants. It didn't cost us any extra.
