Pros: food, characters, service
Cons: none

We ate at the Crystal Palace on our first night at Disney. We loved it. The food was very good. Our daughter thought the salmon was the best she had ever eaten. I loved all of the wonderful salads. Our granddaughter loved the mac and cheese, green beans, and fruit. The quality of the food was first rate. Our server, Paul, was very attentive. He quickly brought drink refills and removed dirty dishes. We all loved the characters especially Eeyore. They were all wonderful. We took a great picture of Piglet patting my husband on the top of his head. We will definitely be back!

Pros: none
Cons: management

Went end of Sept 2009 on the dining plan. Made reservations 90 days prior to our visit. Arrived 15 minutes prior to reservation time as recommended and told there is a 90 minute wait for a table !!!! Had 3 small children who were so hungry and then disappointed when we had to leave the park to eat somewhere else. Missed the parade and the fireworks.

Pros: Food, Choices
Cons: none

My family and I love this place. We think the food quality and variety is good. Kids love it too thanks to Pooh and Company. Certainly the best food in Magic Kingdom.

Pros: flan, select food items
Cons: food quality

When coming to Disney multiple times a year we always made Crystal Palce a must. Well, our view on it has changed on our recect trip. It seems that because of the popularity of the Dining Plan, the food quality had decreased. The food at all buffets semms to be sub par and the only reason people return is for the characters. The flan is very good and there are a few good selections, but really how many variations of mashed potatos can you have???

Pros: getting to see characters not outside in the hot sun
Cons: disorganized, took too long for characters to come around.

We had 11:30 ADR's on 10/29 and thought the process was disorganized. If you had ADR's they didn't give you a beeper, they said they would come find you outside. Well this wasn't the case. After melting in the hot sun for 20 mins. My husband went up to the front and the hostess said she called us, but didn't feel like walking to the end of the porch.
The food was just ok. Nothing great.
The characters took to long to come around. After an hour we only saw 2 of the characters. We had to leave because the kids couldn't take the wait any longer. It seemed like every time they got halfway around they handlers came out to move them or they had to dance or something.
Our waitress was very nice. Tried to help when the kids were crying.
Might try breakfast, but not lunch again.

Pros: Character interaction
Cons:

Had ADR at 11:50am on 10-23. We had to wait maybe 10 minutes past our reservation to get seated, but we didn't mind because we were able to relax outside! Once we were seated our waiter was there taking our drink orders and reviewed the process with us. We were told that we had time to get food before the characters would be at our table. Food was ok, a lot of selection, though. Character interaction was AWESOME! All 4 characters (Winnie the Pooh, Piglet, Eeyore, and Tigger) came around within 30 minutes of us seating! Would probably come again just to see the characters!

Pros: Winnie the Pooh and Tigger were wonderful
Cons: The others never showed

Food was OK (at best) but who wanted the food. I brought my 3 grandchildren (ages 8,7, and 3)because Winnie the Pooh was my grandson's (age 3) favorite character. We were seated, got our food and nobody showed. All 4 characters were on the other half of the Palace. We asked the waitress who was baffled. She said she would see what she could do. Before long, Winnie and Tigger started making thier way to our half of the Palace. As they left our half, Piglet started down to our table. As Piglet approached us, a song and dance started. When that was thru, all 4 characters went back to the other half of the Crystal Palace. Our waitress apologized repeatedly saying they are supposed to go 2 characters to each side and then switch. We had been in there well over an hour and the young guy was restless - so we ended up leaving.

Our waitress was great - she did what she could. But after 10 months of telling my grandkids who they were going to meet, they (and I) were disappointed. I really hope the renovation includes more than table updates - this luncheon should be a meet and greet of all the characters.

Pros: Characters
Cons: Overbooked, rude hosts, bland waiter

Our family loved the Crystal Palace and the Pooh and friends character dinner! It was just assumed that we would dine here on each trip. I'm sorry to say that is no longer the case.

Serious overbooking and rude host staff put a sour note on our dinner before we even got in the door. Arriving 30 minutes early (as told by Disney Dining), waiting ten minutes to check in, and then wasting priceless "Disney time" sitting on the porch because they would never tell me how long the wait would be. If the wait is going to be that long, they should at least let people know what to expect. When my husband politely complained, the hostess said "that's just how it works sir, you just need to deal with it."

Our server said maybe 15 words to us the entire time we were at the table. Zero personality even when we tried to engage him. We are very social people and usually have lively discussions with servers. A waitress stopped by our table and chatted with us multiple times because she found out we were from Atlanta, as was she...unfortunately sweet Kat wasn't our waitress.

The characters were great as always, and their handlers were fabulous!

The food was okay. I actually thought the Pooh's Corner kids buffet was lacking this time. My kids ate off the adult bar because the food looked "yucky."

I'm hopeful the rehab in January will bring some much needed changes to more than the physical environment. When we dined at Chef Mickey's and Princess Storybook Dinner at Akershus it was obvious that those operations ran MUCH more smoothly than those at Crystal Palace. Short waits, organized character visits, engaging servers, fantastic food were all typical at the other buffets. These things don't just happen...they are a result of good management, which Crystal Palace is obviously lacking. Overbooking at Crystal Palace is ridiculous and greedy, resulting in an all-around poor experience. Sad

Pros: In-and-out quickly, characters, pleasant atmosphere
Cons: perhaps not as good as years past?

We ate here in Jan/08 and I thought it was one of the meal highlights; this time it was fine, no complaints, it just didn't stand out. (the best buffet is definitely the Tusker House). IT was fun, though, and come on', who doesn't love Pooh and friends? Even the 4 kids (aged 10 & 13) got a kick out of them. Maybe it was because we went at a slow time of year (early October) and had a relatively early dinner ADR (4:25 pm), but we were checked in and seated with a very short wait, and the server was very pleasant and very good with refills, etc. The selection was fine and while it is basically standard buffet food, none of us had any real complaints. We were a larger party of 6 (2 families traveling together) on the dining plan and while I wasn't estactic about this place, I was glad we chose it again. We enjoyed ourselves even if we weren't over the top with the food.

Pros: Characters/ Food
Cons: Long Wait

We'd never eaten at the Crystal Palace before. The Character interaction was great. The food was good and the waitress was friendly and attentive. Only downside was the long wait. We had a 3:35 ADR and we didn't get seated for almost an hour.

Pros: our waiter
Cons: long wait, food quality

The Crystal Palace was the biggest disappointment of our trip. This was my brother's favorite and we always eat here on our yearly vacation. This restaurant is not the same as it used to be.
First we had to wait outside in 95 degree Florida heat (the heat was not Disney's fault) for about an hour past our priority seating time. The characters took alot longer than usual to come around and the buffet food was awful. The food used to be fantastic with a large selection, now the choices are very limited and not very good at all. The exception was the dessert buffet which was good and had a nice selection. The only good thing about our meal was our server who was very friendly and even made a special pot of coffee for me (guess not many people were having coffee that nite because of the heat). Thank goodness we were on the free dining plan because it would have hurt to spend alot of money on th quality of our meal. This had been a favorite, but unless the restaurant gets some very needed changes we will eat somewhere else.

Pros: Characters
Cons: Limited selection

I picked this restaurant to celebrate my 30th Birthday as I was going to be in the Magic Kingdom that day. We checked in 5 minutes early for our 4:35 reservation. There was already a huge line. We were seated about 4:45. My table was decorated for my birthday and I did end up getting a card signed by our waiter and the Pooh characters. The food choices weren't the greatest. We must have just missed Eeyore because it took over an hour for him to come to the table. All of the characters were friendly and the staff did a good job of keeping them moving. Our waiter did a great job refilling our drinks. I did get a cupcake for my birthday. We like Chef Mickey's better.

Pros:
Cons: overbooked

We had a 6:00 pm ADR for 9/27. We got to the Magic Kingdom about 5:30. My husband went to check in. The girl at the door said we would have to stand in the line for 1 hour till we would be seated. So we left and never went back.

Pros: the characters
Cons: the wait time

This would have gotten a higher number if not for the horrible wait to get in. It took 15 minutes just to get to check in for your reservation. We ate here on Wed. Sept 30th. when I checked in, they were running over 1 hour behind. Strangely, they were giving some people buzzers, but not everyone. The people calling the names did not speak English very well and it was hard to understand them. We waited about 45 minutes to get in.
Once in, everything was good. We saw all the characters once and some of them twice. There was a good selection of food - many cold salads and also hot selections. The salmon was delicious and I really enjoyed the mussels. There were 2 soups to choose from and many desserts.
The food was very good, but I would make a reservation right after they open so maybe there wouldn't be a wait.

Pros: Lots of food choices
Cons: Long wait, food quality

This was our first time at the Crystal palace and we will not be returning. Even with reservations, our wait was long. We finally got a table and the food was just awful. Dry meats..the shrimp was mushy. Yuck. We all had sour bellies the rest of the night.
