Pros: Clean rooms, friendly staff
Cons: Far walk from bus stop to park

Just back from our visit to the World Jan. 25-30 2013. We were originally booked for All Star Music, but there was a mix up with our two rooms so we were offered rooms at the Sport Resort, after reading poor reviews on the Sport Resort I didn't know what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness of our rooms and how nice the resort was everything was so clean. I noticed one of the complaints was the size of the rooms at the All Star Resorts, so I reserved two rooms one for my teenage daughters and another for my son and me. The price of the rooms is affordable enough that instead of complaining about how small the rooms are why not get two rooms. People complained in the reviews about the noise in the rooms facing the pools well our rooms were facing the pool and we hardly heard any noise from the pool. I enjoyed the convience of being able to watch my tween son from the balcony walk to the food court for drinks and breakfast. We ate most of our meals at the resort the food was cooked to order and always hot and fresh, I was surprised at the selection of food at the food court, I assumed because we were staying at the Sport Resort they would only offer hamburgers and chicken nuggets, but was surprised by their menu which varied from london broil steak to turkey to salads made to order. My only complaint was how far we got dropped off from the parks via disney buses. Who wants to walk a mile or two before entering or leaving the parks. Overall I was very pleased with my experience and look forward to staying at All Star Sport again.

Pros: Price,Food court
Cons: Mouse keeping, hard mattress

Went Dec. 8-11, room 5137. Had to call to have toilet paper replenished, then call again for tissues and again for plastic cups. Mattresses hard as a rock, had a hard time sleeping. Not good after a night at Merry Christmas party. All four of us had sore backs and tired. Food court was excellent, did not have anything bad there. We probably won't stay there again but for price, might be worth it for some one else.

Pros: Theme is cute
Cons: Bugs

Checked in Sept. 22-24 after our week stay at AoA. This was our first time staying at All Star Sports and was looking forward to staying here. The room was clean the beds were pretty comfortable. We never ate here so I can't say anything on the food but from what I saw, something look yummy.

We were gone to the park all on the 22 and came back to sleep. The next day when we came back to pack our bags, we saw some very very small little bug by the sink and a very large bug. I left my room cause I was scared. The kids thought it was pretty funny, I not so much. I went to the front desk. He was very sorry bout what had happened and moved us.

Bus shares with the other All Stars. I had stayed at All Star Music in 2008 and don't remember them sharing. The longest wait we had was to DTD. The kids used the music pool, the main pool at sports was closed. I like themeing of Sports.

Pros: price
Cons: cost of small items

We went to Disney for a quick weekend and to experience 10 mile race. All Star Sports was one of the host hotels. Still great for the price. Main pool was closed for refurbishing. One thing that really bugs me is the cost of little things. Two dollars for a postcard in the shop. Length of stay for a soda mug is $15.50. Come on, fifteen dollars buys you 2 cases of soda, who's going to drink that much in a few days. Food was very good and a variety was fine. Maid services were especially friendly. Music by pool can be annoying, same songs. The walks aren't bad. I like pop century a bit more. But nothing like that feeling when you walk in the main lobby from the pool. Air conditioning and smell from cafeteria hits you at once. Fantastic.

Pros: Clean, surprisingly quiet, cost, transportation
Cons: hard beds, small room if more than 2 in room

We stayed at AS Sports for two nights, on 9/21 & 9/22. This was our first stay at a value, we usually stay at POR, POFQ, or SOG so was not looking forward to the 'value experience' from reviews I have read on AllEars. We traveled with family who were on a constrained budget. However, we did splurge for the preferred rooms in the Surf section. I will say I was surprised with the resort on many levels. Of course my experience may be different as it was off season and my guess the resort was not even 1/3 full.

The Good:

- We asked for a room not facing the pool (obvious noise). We had a 'parking lot view' room, but there was a buffer of trees and landscaping so we did not see the parking lot at all, quiet and serene.

- The rooms and grounds were very clean, at least in our 'Surfs Up' section.

- The theming is nice in the rooms, modern furniture and hidden Mickeys everywhere.

- The transportation actually was well, buses were half full and we never waited more than 10 minutes to and from the parks. According to the signage at Magic Kingdom, each AS Resort (Sport, Music, Movies) has their own bus. Not sure about the other parks (Epcot, DHS)

- Clean resort grounds and room.

- Food court had a decent variety of food and menu varied at different meal times.

The Bad:

- Beds were hard, but so tired at the end of the day didn't really matter, I could have slept on a concrete brick.

- Resort was quieter than I imagined, now I'm sure the pool view rooms and rooms facing the play areas are loud when guests are at play. So if you are a light sleeper ask for non-poolside rooms.

- Rooms are very small, it was just the me and the wife in one room, good enough for the both of us. The other room in our party had 4 people, not a lot of room for them. I would say it would be rough for a group of 3 or more for trips with duration of more than 2 nights.

Conclusion:

If it is just me & the wife and off-peak season, we will stay here again! You can't beat the cost savings of value over moderate and even deluxe resorts. I'd rather stay 2 nights at a value for a weekend getaway then 1 night at a moderate. Transportation was never an issue, although I would reserve a 'highly recommend' until I experience this resort at peak season.

Pros: Price, 1st bus stop, food court
Cons: Very basic amenities, poor cleanliness,

We got an excellent military discount; the prices are definetly low, yet still too high for what you get. Rooms are tiny and not particularly well cleaned; double beds are HORRIBLE! Food court is conveniently located next to bus stop, making grabbing breakfast on the go quite easy. Did enjoy a night watching Wall E by the pool and had a nice chat with the bartender. Overall, it serves it's purpose, but if this wasn't in Disney and I was looking to actually spend time at a resort, this would not be it.

Pros: room ready when we arrived
Cons: hard beds

We stayed here June 15-20, arrived at 10:30 am and rooms were ready for us. I did do online check in and told them about the time we would arrive. Really wanted the Touchdown buildings, but ended up in Homerun. Was worried the walk would take us forever, but to be truthful all buildings aren't that far from main building. The food court had wonderful choices and variety for all ages. Used the pool mostly at night and it was clean and the lifeguards walked the area non stop. Was worried about the buses, but really only waited the longest 10 mins for one. A plus for this resort is that it is the 1st stop for the buses. Make sure you check with the desk about early morning reservations, that way you know when to catch the bus. If not you may be late for your reservation.

Pros: 1st bus stop, food
Cons: Noisy school and sports groups

We stayed at All-Star Sports for 8 nights beginning May 26, 2012. I had requested building 10 in the football section, ground floor, and that's exactly what I got. In fact, our room was on the corner of the building closest to the main building. The location was more than wonderful for the pools, arcade, shopping, and food.

Speaking of food, I wasn't expecting it to be fabulous, but I was pleasantly surprised. At lunch, there were some nice sandwich options, and at dinner several meats with a selection of vegetables. My son ate all the standard picky eater options, and he really enjoyed all of them.

The pools were very well maintained. We swam only in the mornings, though, because the pools were always filled with noisy kids in the evenings. This place, I think, is the main resort where WDW houses school and sports groups, so noIse is an issue. However, I found that when we shut the door to our room, we really couldn't hear much outside. The one exception was a time or two when kids playing football missed catching a pass and the ball thudded against our door. Still, I think you have to expect some noise at a place themed around sports.

Bus service was great. We never waited more than five minutes for pick up. We shared buses in the mornings for the first two days, but that's where staying at Sports is an advantage. You are the first bus stop, so in the morning, you will get a seat, while some from Music and Movies will have to stand.

Everything was clean, including our room. Mousekeeping did a very nice job. WiFi in the room worked very well. However, I found it very weak around the pools.

In the evenings, we enjoyed the movies around the pool. Despite noisy kids in the pool, we found that we could block them out and really enjoy watching the movie.

Overall, I think All-Star Sports is a good value.

Pros: Price, First bus stop for all stars
Cons: Fewer food choices than POP

We stayed here 5/19-5/31, and it was our first stay here. We have always stayed at POP Century in the past, and wanted to try a new resort. The theming was perfect as our son is into many sports. We even threw the football around on the mini football field, complete with X's & O's diagramming a play, and goal posts to kick field goals.

There was very little noise heard from our room, in the Surf's Up area, away from the pool, but I would imagine that there could be some noise issues in the football section where people would play around. The two pools were large enough for the amount of guests that were at the resort. There is a movie nightly by the pool, which we watched a couple nights. The pool was open all night, but there were no lifeguards on duty late, and there was no noise from the pool late at night, even though there were around a dozen or so people in the pool.

The bus transportation was as good as could be expected. All of the All-Stars share buses during slower parts of the day, and have dedicated buses during peak times, except for MK, which had dedicated buses all day. We never waited more than about seven minutes for a bus, which was probably good timing, but I never heard anyone complain about the wait time for a bus.

The food court could be a little better. The choices are burgers, nuggets, pizza, or salad. Would be nice to have a variety like POP does, but the food that we had here was good.

Mousekeeping was great. The room was kept nice and tidy, and there were new towel animals daily...and he/she would take whatever animal our son had purchased the previous day, and put it in the window. One day, she took three of them and placed them on the bed, put the remote control under one of them, and sunglasses on another, and turned the TV to face them.

The resort is a bit smaller than POP, but laid out in a similar way. We liked this resort, and would definitely stay here again.

Pros: Value
Cons: Loud, Food Court

We decided to stay at All-Star Sports because we have 2 young sons who both enjoy sports and wanted to save a little money since we were traveling around summer time and memorial weekend.

We have stayed at All-Star Movies and Pop Century value resorts before and had no problem with them, so we figured Sports would be just as good as the other value resorts, but I was wrong. We stayed May 26-June 2 in Building 8 which is the baseball building. Going Memorial Weekend we knew the first couple of days would be crowded, but the resort had so many large groups here, most young teens. It was always so loud and every time we would walk to our room we had to watch for the kids playing in the touchdown building area because they were constantly kicking and throwing balls close to where people were walking. Our room was close to the second pool so we could hear all the kids outside playing and screaming at midnight while we were trying to sleep.

The second thing I was very disappointed in was the food court. The food was either cold or you were sitting there for a while waiting for it. Many nights the food court started closing early and rushing to get everything closed, and the bakery was always out of things by 7pm.

Overall, the price was good, but other than that I didn't enjoy my stay here and all and would much rather stay at Pop Century if we choose to stay at a value again.

Pros:
Cons:

I needed a place to stay for a few nights while I worked some hours at Epcot, and this was the only value or moderate resort with availability. I did online check in and requested Center Court or Touchdown.

My flight was delayed, canceled, and delayed again, so I got to the resort around 5:30pm, much later than planned. There was no line at the check in desk, and soon I was on my way to room 5233-second floor in Center Court. It was right next to the staircase, just a few minutes walk to the main hall, and equidistant from both pools.

The room was clean and just what I needed for the few days I was there. Bed and pillows were extremely comfortable, lighting was fine if a little dim, and I didn't hear much outside noise. Some groups of teens/kids were at the resort but they weren't a bother at all.

No issues with the food court, standard fair and good service. Housekeeping was fine. Bus service was excellent. Bell services was very helpful in locating my luggage from Magical Express.

I did visit the pool one night for a bit and listened to the Disney trivia game that the recreation cast members were playing.

Overall a very enjoyable stay.

Pros: price
Cons: n/a

My son just finished his college junior year in Sarasota and after packing up his dorm room, we headed to WDW for a 4 night stay and parks visit. This was our first stay at a budget Disney property and I must say, we were pleasantly surprised. In the past we have stayed at the Contemporary Resort, Port Orleans, and Caribbean Beach. I was a bit reluctant to book the budget hotel but what a pleasant surprise. Rooms are a bit small but were very clean. Housekeeping was excellent every day and the room was spotless. We were in the Hoops Hotel and being a father and grown son, I was glad they put us in the last room at the end of the wing. Couldn't have been better and was very quiet in that location. Lots of high school kids but it was surprisingly quiet. After seeing so many negative reviews, we were very happy with our experience.

Pros: Low price
Cons: Low on Disney Magic

My family of 4 stayed at All Star Sports over spring break, beginning 3/24. We have stayed at all other value resorts and several moderates as well and thought we knew what to expect. Our 2 boys were really looking forward to the sports theming and the person at the front desk was very friendly and helpful in fulfilling our request of the football section. Let me start by saying I am a huge fan of Allears and have used it for research over the last several years and this is my first review I have written. I had read some negative comments about Sports but thought Disney would handle problems. I was wrong! This resort is full of large groups of teenagers with chaperones and not well controlled. They can be very loud as we experienced one night until midnight. We called the front desk to notify them but nothing was done and they really didn't seem to care. We also had problems with housekeeping, the arcade staff refused to help us with a problem and people were smoking in non smoking areas. Our vacation was 1week and after complaining mid week to a sympathetic manager we were moved to another resort, Wilderness Lodge. This was a fantastic upgrade but sad that it had to happen. We have always been happy at value resorts in the past but we will not stay at Sports again. If you want a better deal go to Music unless you are with a large group.

Pros: Price, convenience, fun, perfect for kids
Cons: smallish rooms

My family of four (two parents, a 5 year old and a 5 month old) had a wonderful time at the All Start Sports Resort and will absolutely be back. The exemplary service at the front desk on arrival set the tone for the week. The resort is perfect for kids with the super fun theme, two pools, playground and arcade. The food court was affordable and gave us a good, easy dining option that satisfied everyone. The food was actually very good. We had a car, but after check in never used it because the buses were such an easy transportation option. One day we skipped doing a park and just enjoyed the resort. We went for the Preferred Room, and it was nice being so close to the food court, the pool, the bus and the playground. I highly recommend this resort!

Pros: Staff was excellent
Cons: pool too crowded to swim

We stayed here 5/6 -5/17/11. We were treated wonderfully from a cheerful staff at check-in, concierge, food court, to mousekeeping! I thought they must have all just transferred from a more expensive resort. They've always been nice and helpful at this resort, but they went way over the top during our last trip. We had requested to be somewhat close to the foodcourt, but did not want to be near the pool. We have elderly and one with not so great health. We had asked for the Football bldg., but they were both booked. They initially put us in a pool bldg. and it was extremely noisy because they have the music for the pool blaring from speakers attached to this bldg.(at least that is how it seemed). After a couple hours in the room, we called and asked to be moved. They did find us a much quieter room in the back of the same bldg. It was pretty much perfect for us.

I had hoped to swim a little after returning from the parks at night, but it was impossible. Every night they had movies (which were cute) by the pool and every night the pool was full of teenaged kids shoulder to shoulder in the pool. I thought I'd go over to the smaller pool, but found that was very tiny and shallow and intended most likely for toddlers. So, my only complaint about this resort is that it could use another large pool. They also get large groups traveling together that stay here. But, I have also been to other Values and Moderates that had the large groups traveling together. All the kids here were very well behaved on property. We probably missed the experience of crowded buses to the parks because we usually didn't leave the resort until 10 or 11 am and sometimes didn't stay at the parks till closing. One night a bus driver had stopped the kids from entering the bus because it was full, but the kids all squished together a lot tighter and there are no words for how overcrowded he allowed that bus to become. I could feel it swaying so ridiculously and many of us thought it was going to tip.

The rooms are standard size and were kept very clean. I thought they were cutely decorated with nice mickey carpeting and pictures that go with the theme of the building you are in. It's adequate if you don't want to spend a fortune. The one nice thing about this resort is it is 1st on the bus line when the values have to share buses.

The food court is a good size considering this is the smaller of the value resorts. We ate breakfast around 9am and always had a place to sit. We visited other value resorts and I don't know how they manage at Pop Century for example. I think Sports was more organized and cleaner.

We had lunch one day at our food court and had asked the chef if he could prepare something with no salt or seasoning and they were wonderful. They made exactly what we wanted, which was chicken and they had to find some that was thawed because they don't use it normally until dinner. They were great here! I felt like I was staying at a high class resort and couldn't have asked for anymore.

I think the Movies an Music have cuter decor/icons on the outside buildings, but Sports is easier to get around, so we would stay here again. They seem to get better every time we stay, I just don't know how they can top last time... except with another pool!
