We had boarded our dogs at Disney's Best Friends for as long as it has been open. We trusted them 100% with caring for our dogs. They were awesome! When they reopened after COVID, new management took over, and many of our wonderful, caring, caretakers were replaced by ones that appeared to be more centered around business, and a more profit attitude.
While two of our greyhounds were being boarded in a Villa, on the first day, we received a phone call that they accidentally let the door close on her tail. We were told it was just a small cut with some bleeding, it was nothing to worry about and they were taking her to the emergency clinic to be evaluated. So far so good.
The emergency clinic called us and said that it was a very serious injury to her tail. It was so torn up they didn't think they could save it. When we went to the clinic...Oh my goodness!
It looked like it had been through a meat grinder!! They absolutely lied to us!! She ended up having to have her whole tail amputated. They said that they would cover all costs for the surgery but never did. This was 1 year ago. We obviously will never use them again. I need to be able to trust the people I leave my dog's with.

Pros:

Location to Disney. Villa's are a very nice size for 2 dogs.

Cons:

They lied to us! They tried to make an accident that they caused look like it wasn't serious. Never took any responsibility for it.

I just can’t say enough wonderful words for Doreen who has cared for our little Lola twice now. We visit Disney and Universal monthly. I always make sure that Doreen will be there when we book our hotel. She is the absolute most sincere person and our Lola adores her. We had a Pom before Lola that we had to say goodbye to when Covid first started. We boarded Louie there often also, yet the standard of care that Doreen provided went above and beyond. Lola was rescued and a bit shy but she instantly connected with Doreen.

Pros:

Loving and caring atmosphere. Doreen is the best.

Cons:

Can’t think of any cons.

I think our dogs had a nice time, but they were really tired and slept the way home. We (the humans) were happy with the staff and the service. You do have to bring your own food, unless you want to be charged for theirs. They also allow 2 toys per pet.
They do a comb check for fleas when checking in and you have to take off your collar and leash for them to put on their collar and leash. Then instead of having anxiety about us leaving, they happily trotted off with the staff instead of wishing to stay with us. Rude.

Pros:

Cute theme, loved the outside play area, staff seemed really nice, can peek in to one of the doggy play areas.

Cons:

If you want to pick up your fur baby in the early afternoon, you have to book a go home fresh bath otherwise they'll charge you for the day.

Great facility and very friendly staff

Pros:

Staff was great, left dog for 'day care' each day while at the parks. When I walked in they called her by her name and took her in their arms. Honest workers - gave me a partial refund each day if I picked my dog up early.

Cons:

none at all

We have been using BFPC since they opened for our 2 dogs. Our dogs love boarding there and always receive lots of TLC. They staff is great and very accomodating. We found it is less expensive to board them at BFPC rather than at our local kennel. We always bring their food, additives and a few favorite toys for them without any problems. It gives us peace of mind when we visit WDW knowing our dogs are enjoying themselves and receive excellent care. Love receiving their \"report card\" at the end of their visit.

Pros:

Accommodations, pricing, excellent staffing, fun outdoor space.

We are AP so we frequent Disney at least 4 or 5 times a year. Our 8 lb, 6 yr old Shitzhu comes with us (we drive from NJ). As AP we get discounts on her stay, but if you stay on property you get a discount too. Their times of business are pretty flexible and they treat Abbey with top care! We often get pics of her when we are on vacation. She is given lots of love by the staff. They even sent us an email yesterday for our trip in 10 days, letting us know about a recent outbreak of canine flu and what we can do to prevent it before our stay.

Pros:

Excellent service

Our Harry is our only (cat) boy and as non-parents to people children, I'm a fusspot when it comes to pet kennels. I was SO anxious the first time he stayed and I shouldn't have bothered worrying at all. Harry was fine, they sent a lovely picture of him, and I called to check on him. They are SO incredibly helpful, especially Barbara, and I have zero negative comments. Harry has stayed twice now and he's just fine. I call once a day to ck on him and they call, of course, if there's a problem (there hasn't been any problems either). They will let you know if he is hiding, playing , eating, using his cat box, etc. You can get special treats for your pet including special play time, treat, and extra photos.

Pros:

Super pet (and people) friendly staff!

Cons:

None!

I boarded here for the first time as family were visiting WDW with a puggle. This is more of a dog spa than a kennel. Very happy with the boarding experience here and would not hesitate to board again. And I am very particular about kennels.

Pros:

Attentive staff, spotless, comfortable

Cons:

None

Our pup, Echo has stayed at Best Friends at least 5 times in the past 3 years and each time has been a great experience. Last stay was Dec. '15 and have 2 more booked so far this year. Stays have ranged from 3-10 nights and he is well cared for each day. The resort is extremely clean and the staff is always friendly and loving toward the animals (even as pup pulls them down the hall). I've never heard a lot of barking and think it's well insulated from the fireworks (which Echo is not a fan of). They put on his thundershirt nightly for comfort and provide toys and treats for me. It is great to be able to check in throughout the vacation and spend time with pup in the dog park- which has plenty of space to run (we bring a ball), water spurts, and shade. They offer special add ons and grooming. Echo has never smelled like "kennel" when leaving, but have used the service before. It's located directly across from Port Orleans which was great place to stay close to pup for pop in visits. I have nothing but glowing reviews for Best Friends and know Echo is looking forward to his stay over Spring Break.

Pros:

Extremely clean and friendly!

Cons:

none
