My husband and I dined here tonight. No WDW reservation and thought we'd find something at Downtown, had seen good online reviews of Paradiso 37. We're 50ish, at WDW celebrating our 20th anniversary. Outside "recruiter" talked about range of margaritas (a favorite of DH), lakeside seating, huge menu selection. Surley hostess annoyed that I requested lakeside and then when I realized this meant outside changed my mind. Stomped up to 2nd level, no conversation, no "enjoy your meal".
Waitress a nice young girl but not a ball of fire, although she did mention the "tower of tequila" with 37 brands of tequila (ergo the name Paradiso 37). We asked for drinks list and unless I missed it there were 3 margaritas, all sweet, frozen. Ordered two standard marg's, rocks & salt. Husband disappointed, contained sour mix instead of lime juice ($9/drink), which is strange for someplace purporting to be a tequila palace. Asked server if there were any other marg's, she said not that she knew of, but we could substitute other stuff, she guessed. We gave up, he ordered a beer with meal, I ordered a glass of chardonnay. Asked for appetizer recommendation, server "thought" she'd seen other people order the dip plate, so based on this glowing recommendation we went for it. Three small dishes, chili, cheese dip (with a funky skin on it) and guacamole. Odd in wannabe hip restaurant that the little dishes are on paper doilies. Cute stand-up paper bag with small number of warm tortilla chips.
Menu hard to read, printed on red paper and it's dark. Very noisy. I had grilled salmon, asked for substitute for cilantro rice, got nice corn cakes, good grilled veggies, well plated, reasonable portion. DH ordered jalapeno burger, meat was raw but we didn't manage to attract the attention of any staff member for a long time, we eventually decided it had been a long day and we gave up, left 10% tip and went back to our resort. On our way out the door no one even acknowledged the fact that we'd just dropped $80. or good night, or have a nice McDay...
I would guess that whoever owns this place is paying a good chunk of change for rent, and although they've got a pool of unsuspecting theme park guests to prey on, they'd better get their act together.

We had gone here for a drink on Oct. 17th and we were seated at a table right away. Because we enjoyed it so much we went back for dinner a few days later without reservations. We were asked if we minded having a table outside on the side balcony, right in front of the building and were taken to it immediately without having to wait. It was great, I felt like we were part of the street atmosphere--we could relax and people watch. We ordered margaritas' and had decided to share 4 different appetizers as our entree'.We thought the food was excellent--very fresh and tasty. The only draw back was at a table near ours was a very tired child who cried and screamed the entire time. I noticed on my last 2 Disney visits that there are quite a few empty-nesters, middle aged people or older, and I know Disney is for all ages and I expect to hear crying and fussing if I am at a character meal, but I would hope that if I can sit in a place and have a drink with alcohol in it that maybe there should be an area solely for people like us who want to sit and relax. I don't want to anger anyone with kids---I took my kids to Disney often when they were younger---but if they were tired and it was later at night we ordered pizza in our room and gave them a chance to refresh for the next day.

We ate here Friday Oct 23, and we thought it was a gem of a place. Our waitress was there promptly, came back and checked on us often. We enjoyed the food and design of the restaurant.

kinks to still work out

On a Saturday night in Oct 2009, our party of 10 with reservations dined here. We ordered 2 appetizers, both the trio of dipping sauces, and the trio of the spreads. They came out very rapidly and our drinks were replenished often. Then we placed our entree order. It took 50 minutes from the time we placed our order to the time it arrived. My entree salad was missing 1/2 of the ingredients, but since our server disappeared until after the meal was over, it was too late to do anything about it, except mention it to her, which I did. We skipped dessert, got the bill, gave our credit card, received it back and the server said "did someone come talk to you yet?" Apparently the manager was supposed to have come over but didn't. So the server sent her over and we had to wait 5 more minutes. I explained the salad issue, time from order to entree issue, and lack of server once entrees were received. The manager was apologetic saying they were still working out kinks (how long can they use that excuse?), and next time we come back to ask for her and she would comp our meal. I'm sure they get mostly tourists like us, so the odds that we come back and remember her name and she is still working there, are all pretty remote. Most of the table rated their entrees "Good", some rated them "Fair", no one rated theirs "Great".
If you haven't tried it and had no other restaurants in mind, it's worth a shot, but don't put it high on your list.

This seems to be a hidden gem since we able to be seated promptly while other restaurants in Downtown Disney had long waits. This was the best food we had during our trip. Everything was excellent. Although Paradiso reports to have food from many central and south American countries, most of the entrees are from Mexico, although we didn't mind at all since they were prepared with slightly different tastes, which made it better than dining at a regular Mexican restaurant.

We ate here on the night of June 25th. It was a ladies night for my mother, sister and I. We were in love with the night time atmosphere of the downtown area. And we decided to stop here for a few drinks and food. After waiting about 20 minutes to get a table, we waited about another 20 to finally get someone to come to our table. And thats only because we had to stop someone and ask for a waiter. Our drinks came after that, and they were great. Margaritas were the best. But there wasn't a great choice for food. The food had a lot of cilantro. If I had a choice to go there again, I wouldn't.

We ate here on Friday, July 17, 2009 for a walk-up dinner time. We arrived at 7:45 and were seated within 5 minutes. The music is loud in this restaurant but it is live music and was lovely! Our waitress was great! We have the quesadillas and crazy corn to start. We still can't decide which was better. Then we had the chicken enchilladas. We ordered them spicy but we really LOVE spicy and they were a little weak. Next time, we will ask for extra spicy! For dessert we had the sopapillas which were good and enough to share. Drinks...WOW is all I have to say! If you like Tequila, they have a Tequila Tower with 37 different kinds that you can try. I had the mangled margarita and it was delicious. DH had some lemonade thing that was delicious also. We can't wait to go back there in October!

We ate at Paradiso 37 about 4 days after they had opened. Granted, there are always kinks to work out at new restaurants but the problems we encountered were just unacceptable for ANY restaurant. The menu outside advertised an appetizer sampler but when we asked the waiter about it, we were informed it had already been taken off the menu. They were already out of first drink I ordered (a white sangria) so I settled for a mangled margarita (frozen margarita swirled with frozen red sangria). It was very good but VERY strong. We ordered an appetizer of the crazy corn, which, despite repeated efforts to remind the waiter, did not arrive until AFTER our entrees were finished. The entrees themselves were nothing special and everything is extra, even chips and salsa. We didn't stick around for dessert- our crazy corn was basically our "dessert". Hopefully, this place will improve with practice but I will definitely not be returning anytime soon to try it again. For the price we paid, we could have eaten at much nicer places with much better food.

Cons:

Beer temperature

Since the coldness of their draft beer was something they seemed very proud of, I expected a much colder product. However, that was the only "negative" we found. Over 11 days, we ate there twice and both times had great food, great service and enjoyed the atmosphere. The staff was very enthusiastic and took a lot of time to explain the menu, the concept and their different items and specialty drinks. Will definitely be heading here when we return in January.
