Pros: Food
Cons: water

We had the picnic in the park on 12/15 It was a nice change from the normal food served. We were a family of three and got the rotisserie chicken (the two pieces for each person consisted of the leg/thigh AND breast/wing piece!), mashed potatoes and macaroni and cheese as our sides, and an apple, a brownie and a rice krispie treat as our individual dessert. All were excellent! It was very nice to sit outside and enjoy our food and scenery. They should really give larger water bottles or offer an upgrade. We will definitely do this again!

Pros: Healthly Value
Cons: Small water, Nowhere near inside to sit, takes a long time

Picnic in the park is ok. I would not do it again but it was a good change of pace for quick service. We picked it up in Africa and we had to wait a little, which there was no waiting area, only one small bench for two. The food is pretty good. The brownie is amazing, but the waters are tiny, which you need a lot of water for a huge brownie or sticky chicken. There was not inside seating nearby so we had to sit at the Dawa Bar, which was nice with live entertainment drummers, but very hot. The bag you get is not styling, but we do use it for groceries.

Pros: Good food
Cons: None

We did the Picnic In The Park on 12/7 for four adults and one child. We were on the Dining Plan; we used three adult counter services and had enough food for all of us. The order was placed at Island Mercantile first thing in the morning and we picked it up in the Dinosaur area around 11:00am. We went with the sandwiches and fruit salad and were not disappointed. You also get a cool tote bag - not too bad!

This is an easy way to have good food for lunch, you can eat practically anywhere where there is seating and there are no crowds to contend with.

Pros: Chicken, beans, bag, desserts, value
Cons: potatoes, confusion at pick up

We did Picnic in the Park on 12/6. There were 5 adults and a toddler, and we did the tier 2 chicken for 5. There was PLENTY of chicken, and we got 2 sides of potatoes, green beans, and fruit. The potatoes weren't great, but everything else was good. The desserts (cookie, 2 brownies, rice krispy treat) were so huge that we didn't even finish them over the course of the week. The waters it came with were small, but we knew that ahead of time and had bigger bottles with us.

Pros: Great food, convenient, fun!
Cons: small water bottles

We had the picnic in the park on Saturday October 24. It was a nice change from the traditional counter service. We were a family of three and got the rotisserie chicken (the two pieces for each person consisted of the leg/thigh AND breast/wing piece!), mashed potatoes and macaroni and cheese as our sides, and an apple, a piece of cornbread and a rice krispie treat as our individual dessert. All were excellent! We ate at the covered dining area (Dawana bar area) near the window for the pickup. We ordered our food at 10:30 for pickup at 12:00. We got to the window a little late, and they packaged our food when we got there. This was great since it meant our food would be hot instead of cold had they prepared it for 12:00 (we were almost 25 minutes late). The ONLY negative was the small water bottles, but having read previous reviews, we went ahead and ordered drinks when we picked up the food. We will definitely do this again!

Pros: Quality, Value
Cons: small size drinks

We really enjoyed this option. We didn't have any problems locating order or pick up sites. There is more than enough food and quality was great. We had a chicken wrap and turkey focaccia. Both were good. Turkey was really too big! Tomato-cucumber salad had a mayo dressing. Not really what I expected but ok. Got fresh fruit sides and ordered the rice krispie treat because it looked so good...it was! There are a lot of out of the way tables and benches in AK. Keep an eye out for your spot while you're walking around in the morning before you pick up your picnic. There are some great spots. We'll definitely do this again.

Pros: A lot of food for the price
Cons:

We love picnic in the park! We tried it for the first time last week (Oct. 18-24) and were not disappointed! The wraps were tasty and the pasta was fantastic. We were so full and we didn't even finish all the food! And the reusable bag is great. $20 meal for two with food left over is definitely good deal!

Pros: Plenty of Food
Cons:

We did the Picnic in the Park on our most recent visit to AK. There is no information in the park guidemap where to place your order or to pick up, so we stopped at the info center on the way in. Ordering was easy and so was pick up. We got the sandwiches for 2 - ham grinder and turkey focaccia. Both were good and big. For our side, we got Mac and Cheese which was pretty good. Our son loved it. Crisped Rice Treat wasn't very good compared to other ones you get around WDW. We sat at the covered tables outside Tusker House and were able to enjoy the African band performing outside. My only disappointment was the reusable tote bag was the "Every Tree has Character" bag that is sold at every gift shop and not one that said Picnic in the Park. We were on the DDP, but if you are paying cash $20 is pretty good for the amount of food.

Pros: good food/flexible eating areas
Cons: none

Loved the picnic option in Animal Kingdom. They might want to consider it in other parks as well. Had the chicken meal for 2--plenty of food and it was all very good. Would probably skip the rice krispie treat next time--it gets a little soggy in the Florida humidity. Will definitely take advantage of this when we can return.

Pros: a lot of food!
Cons: too much food!!! sign for pick up not big enough!!

We tried picnic in the park on Sept 17th. We got the chicken meal for 4 with mac n cheese, mashed taters, and wedges. With brownies and corn muffins for dessert. More than enough food for the 5 of us. Excellent quality and the chicken was juicy and flavorful. Great quick service option if in the park. Plenty of eating spots to choose from. Would recommend bringing wet wipes since food can be messy!!!

The only thing we suggest is the sign by the pick up area is very easy to miss so they need to make it bigger!

Definitely do again!

Pros: quick, easy, good food
Cons: waters

We really liked using this option. Do a little research and you will know what to do and where to go. AK now has a very clearly marked stand where you go to place your order for lunch. It is clearly marked and we had no trouble finding it. Once you get to the stand there are very detailed papers which tell you what each tier includes and your choices. They give you a slip and off you go to enjoy the park. Your meal is not put into the bag till you get to the bakery over in Africa to pick it up. Therefore, you don't have to be right on time. The lady double checked my order before giving me my bag and everything was inside including napkins and utensils. We went with the sandwiches which were very good. They came with one side...mac and cheese and desserts and water bottles. We actually did two meals between the four of us...two adults and a six and eight year old. Between the mac and cheese and half a sandwich each and dessert and water...it was plenty. If you get a brownie, take it out of the wrapper because the fudge topping stuck to the bag and I also wish they would offer a soda rather than the little waters. As far as the seating goes....don't follow the little map. Eat wherever you want. We found a great water front spot right up from the drums in Africa. It was perfect. Very convenient and easy way to grab a quick lunch.

Pros: quality, quantity
Cons: none!

This is a great option. it's a great value, especially if you're using the dining plan. For two people, it comes with two small waters, two desserts, 4 pieces of chicken (depends on what you order), 2 sides, and a reusable bag you get to keep. The food was EXCELLENT quality, and I liked how you got to choose where to eat around the park. If you have picky eaters, I'd say to make sure you go with the meat tier instead of the sandwiches, since they don't allow substitutions.

Pros: quality and quantaty of food
Cons: small water

I did a little research and my family easily found the place to order the picnic in the park. It was no problem. It was far from the main steam of traffic into the park. As a family of five, we ordered lunch for four (I brought a juice box for our youngest)from the 2nd tier. We had 8 pieces of chicken that were delicious. We shared the cucumber and tomato salad and potato wedges. We wouldn't order the potatoes again. We had three brownies and one rice crispy treat. It was plenty.
It started to rain just as we picked up our lunch, so it was tricky finding a dry place. However, it was nice that our lunch was ready to go and we didn't have to fight a mob scene at lunch time.
Two last notes...My family was on the dining plan so we had been eating plenty for days. We did not need an enormous meal. And my youngest is a minimal eater anyway. Also, if you do get the brownie, take it out of the bag if the other food you ordered is warm. Our brownies were a little gooy. (Not really in a bad way!)

Pros: convenient
Cons: quality

Had the picnic in the park Sunday (the 23rd) and will never have it again. The spots are hard to find and castmembers are not helpful at all, they don't know. The chicken was O.K. but the mashed potatoes and mac and cheese were horrible. The entire family, including mac and cheese lovers, would not eat this. My daughter and I were so thirsty after this meal, with the smallest water possible given, we had to search for a stand to buy another drink. They also shorted us a dessert we had ordered. Check your bags if you feel you must try this but I would recommend skipping it altogether.

Pros: Sandwiches were tasty
Cons: Small waters, too much dessert

We ate here on Sat, July 11th. Could not find the ordering station, asked 3-4 cast members and no one knew about the program. Finally found it by chance and placed order. No substitutions are allowed and there are no childrens options. We ordered the sandwiches and they were good, but it was a large sandwich for my 7 yr old to eat. We got chips for the sides (only ate 2 of the 4 bags) and the mac & cheese. Water bottles were very small and desserts were very large. Could not finish the dessert. Took the rice crispy treats back to the room for dessert at night. Would probably do again, but order for 3 and share to cut down on costs.
