Pros:
Cons: Terribly overpriced food, scared children

Themed restaurants can be a lot of fun but this one even scares a lot of the younger children to the point of screaming tears. We ate here on 7 June and we will not be back. It is a very close tabled restaurant and you sort of feel like cattle as you are moved to your table. That being said, we had just gotten to our table when the "meteor shower" started.....and so did the crying from quite a few children. This restaurant is not for small children who aren't old enough to realize this isn't reality. We had the combo appetizer, my husband ordered a mixed drink and I drank water. The food was a bit too greasy for us and it had obviously sat awhile under a heat lamp. Our bill was @ $40! Then to top it off, our server, who wasn't so great (had to ask for refills on my water glass twice) remarked as he finally brought us our check, how he had to share his tips with food runners and seaters and would appreciate that consideration.....no kidding!!!!! I was totally taken back by such a self serving remark, as was my husband. You want more than an 18% tip then you better become a better server!!

Food not worth the price, very cramped tables, crying children, bad service ......Avoid this restaurant. Go somewhere else and then bring your 6 year or older kids here for a shared dessert to see the dinosaurs and save yourself a ton of money.

Pros: Wonderfuly themed!
Cons: Not a big selection for food!! Prices are really high!

Wonderfuly themed, much better than Rainforest Cafe! Food is way over-priced though and not a very big selection at all!

Pros: Food
Cons:

We ate here 2 times on our trip. The food was great and I loved the theme. One of the two trips there our service wasn't the greatest, but I would still definitely recommend eating here. It can get pretty loud at this restaurant and may scare the little ones!

Pros: Food and Service
Cons: Too Loud

My family and I dined her 5/5/09. We got to speak to the Chef regarding food allergies. Even though you reserve to eat there, you still have to stand in a line to be seated. You walk in and there is so many vibrant colors all around you. Our server was really good with service. We had the Boneyard Buffet, ribs were delicious. Definitely, have the ribs. As for the kids, they shared corn dogs. The chef made sure to steer clear of peanuts for the kids. The only CON about T-Rex is that its so loud in there with the meteor shower that they have every 15mins. I felt like we were yelling at each other just to get a conversation going.

Pros: Great food! Great atmosphere!
Cons: Noisy

We ate at T-Rex on May 9th for dinner. We had a 1.5 hr wait, but I think it was worth it. There were 4 adults in our group, and we all LOVED our meals. The atmosphere was neat too, although the "meteor showers" were rather noisy. The waitstaff were very attentive. If you like The Rainforest Cafe, you'll love T-Rex too. I can't wait to take my kids here.

Pros: Atmosphere, Food
Cons: Price

The atmosphere is amazing. The food was delicious. Of course we expected to pay more here but the quality of food we had was excellent. I felt we weren't just paying for the ambience.
We never felt rushed by our server. There is so much to see. I highly recommend T-Rex.

Pros: excellent food
Cons:

We arrived w/ a group of 31 knowing there was noway we could sit together. It was about 730 pm. We were seated w/in 45 min which I thought was pretty fast considering how packed the place was. I knew it would be a little more expensive than a normal restaurant we would chose at home. My spouse and I split the rib and roasted chicken plate, which was more than enough food for the 2 of us. The kids had chicken nuggets and one had oven roasted chicken. We thought the food was excellent, atmosphere was great! Beats Rainforest Cafe any day! Family of 4 ate for about 65.00 including tip. Great experience! Will go back next time!

Pros: Fun! Good Food Choices!
Cons: Some rooms have nothing happening in them.

Lots of food choices for picky eaters. The 3 of us tried each of the pastas. All were good (but overcooked) but sauces tasted good. Also had the flatbread with goat cheese, etc. It was divine.

Waitstaff was warm and friendly.

The one drawback is that we were put in the "ice" room. It was really disappointing after seeing all the other action going on in the other rooms. They need to do something creative in this room and not keep it so isolated.

Pros: atmosphere
Cons: noise

don't go for the food, go for the atmosphere. my 5 year old son really enjoyed this place and kept requesting return visits during our stay at WDW. Food is overpriced, not that tasty and really who wants potato chips with dinner?

Pros: Food, atmosphere
Cons: Noise

We recently ate dinner at T-Rex. We were there on a cold day, and the restaurant was very chilly. We were all wearing multiple sweatshirts, and we were relieved to be sitting next to the fire instead of in the ice cave.

The restaurant has a great atmosphere, especially for families with older kids. It is really noisy, however, and we could hardly hear our waiter or carry on a conversation. The noise level really increased during the meteor showers.

I would not bring young children to this restaurant unless they love dinosaurs. We noticed several small children who were really frightened, and one little boy near us cried during every meteor shower.

We were surprised to read the negative reviews about the food because we really enjoyed our meal. The Paleonzoic Chicken Sandwich was especially good.

All in all, T-Rex provided a fun experience, and we will likely return at some point in the future.

Pros: convenience
Cons: noise, service, price, food, etc.

3/11/09, dinner, party of 3. We've been watching the construction of T-Rex since last Fall and were really excited to try it. We have only eaten at Rainforest once (we went along with family) and try to avoid gimmick restaurants like this. And we even have a 7 year old. I wish we had avoided this one too.

The layout of the restaurant makes you feel like a ton of cattle in a feed lot. You're crammed in there with everyone else vying for your server's attention. The food is mediocre, service is horrible, and the cost is not worth what you get. Our server never came back after he brought the food to see if everything was ok. My husband couldn't even get a refill on his water. My Mahi-Mahi fish tacos were ok, but the side of rice was horribly dry. My son's "fish and chicken" meal was a bunch of TINY popcorn shrimp and ONE(!) dinosaur-shaped chicken nugget. He's 7 and actually said, "You're kidding me?" when he saw his food. His appetite isn't that of an adult's yet, but kids that have been roaming the parks all day need more than that!

Buyer beware! We wouldn't eat here again if it was the only place with availability. What a waste of money.

Pros: Visually appealing for older kids, friendly staff, decor
Cons: Very noisey, VERY VERY overpriced, food nothing special, can scare little ones

My sister and I ate here on March 9, 2009. It was a new restaurant and we were keen to try it. It is visually appealing for OLDER kids who love dinosaurs; there are dinosaurs in abundance, sea creatures, and wooly mammoths (the baby mammoths were too cute); however, the little girl at the table next to us was SCARED TO DEATH of all the noise, especially when the "meteor storms" hit - she had to be carried out each time because she was so scared and I felt so bad for her. Her parents were great, though - they realized their mistake, let the two older kids eat, and rushed out. This place is very, very, very noisy. Our waiter was very nice - pleasant and attentive. The food was okay. I had the tomato basil soup and it was super good. But it was not $7 for a cup good. My sister and I both had the tortellini - it was okay. Nothing special. Not bad. Not great. Wayyy overpriced. This is basically the Rain Forest Cafe with Dinosaurs - cute, but it would get old fast. I do recommend trying this place at least once - decor is great. Be ready for lots of noise, flashing lights, and an expensive bill (Ours was $65 for lunch (including tax and tip) - and we did not order dessert!).

Pros: visually appealing
Cons: very noisy, very poor food quality, very overpriced

We visited this restaurant Feb. 28, 2009, and my husband and I were so disappointed. We ordered a combo appetizer as our entre so we could try a variety of items, a side salad, and one soft drink and our total with tip was over forty dollars. We probably wouldn't have been upset about that except that we felt we could've gotten better food at McDonald's next door for a quarter of that price. The appetizer consisted of five items: cheese dip and chips, bruschetta, onion rings, chicken quesadlla, and ribs. The only decent tasting things were the ribs (only four for a $5.99 additional charge) and the cheese dip, which only came with about ten or fifteen chips to eat with it and tasted like any nacho cheese you get at like a ball park. The bruschetta was terrible because the bread was drenched in olive oil and soggy from sitting in the tomato topping for who knows how long. The onion rings were completely tasteless and didn't come with any type of dipping sauce, unless you count the nacho cheese. And the "chicken" quesadilla was pretty much onions and cheese in a tortilla. My side salad was a strange combination of carrots, celery, tomato, and olives on iceberg lettuce and the only light dressing option they had was italian which tasted like nothing but vinegar. Also, the entire thing was served on a tower type thing that was so tall that my husband and I had to talk around it for the rest of our meal. Well, we had to yell around it for the rest of our meal as it was so loud in there we could barely hear each other or our waiter. Our waiter was pushy trying to get us to order more food and specialty drinks. By the time we left we were frustrated, tired, and stressed out by all the noise and poor food. So, maybe we just ordered the worst thing on the menu, but we felt like we wasted our money here and would not recomend it to anyone. If you want to see the restaurant, just go in through the gift shop and look around and take photos. But don't waste your money on a meal at T-Rex just to see the dinosaurs. It's not worth it.

Pros: Atmosphere, food, visual appeal
Cons:

This was one of the neatest restaurants we have ever visited. The design and layout were incredible and my children could not get over the dinos and animals. We went for lunch, but before lunch, we had to visit the Build-a-dino, which all of the children (8, 6, and 3) really enjoyed. The food was great with huge portions. Even if you don't eat there, it's worth a trip just to check it out!

Pros: great theme with fun rooms
Cons: NONE

We ate here in January. We were able to get right in for supper. It was just my husband and I on this trip. We found the restaurant to be great. It is really a cool place. Our food was really good and came out quickly. We both had the lasagna and loved it. We can't wait to take our boys there on our next trip. They will LOVE it!
