This was our first time eating here and I must say my family and I really enjoyed it. I didn't care to much for the Dinosaurs but I loved the Meteor Shower that happened very 20 minutes. The food was very good. Between the four of us, we had Chicken, Ribs, Shrimp and Pizza. The mango salsa that came with the Shrimp was very refreshing. All in all, we will eat here again and look forward to it. Even more so now that it's included with the Disney Dining Plan:)

We had a great visit to T-REX.
My daughter (4) is a dino-nut. She loves them, so she was in heaven at this restaurant. She and husband toured the whole place while we were waiting on our food and she had her picture taken with every dino. How could we not enjoy our visit?
The food was pretty good. I had shrimp and pasta. It was a huge portion and was pretty good. Husband had the ribs and said they were delicious. The kids had chicken nuggets, which they ate, so they must have been pretty good.
This was a very fun place! Our kids loved it.

We ate dinner here on 12/28. We arrived about 4:45 and were seated right away without having a reservation. By the time we left, there was a 3 hour wait. Go early if you don't have ressies. The place is lots of fun for families, and the food was decent, just pricey.

We ate at T-Rex on 12-3-11 (Saturday) at 4:15pm. There was no wait for us. We were seated facing the Ice Age room where the meteor shower hit every 15 or 20 minutes. The theming is great. If someone in your family likes dinosaurs, definitely plan a visit here. We ate here because we had done Rainforest Cafe on two previous trips. The service was good although it did take about 20 minutes after ordering before our food arrived. I got the Paleozoic Chicken Sandwich. It is a grilled chicken sandwich on pita bread with a creamy, spicy flavor to it. It had a lot of chicken on it. I enjoyed it as did everyone at the table. My wife got the tempura fried Tribal Tacos. While I didn't taste them, she complimented them. My daughters split the blackened mahi mahi Tribal Tacos. Again, I didn't try them but the girls enjoyed them.
The menu selection is pretty good. The cost is high. But that's what you would expect at DD. Our three entrees, two iced teas and two waters plus tip came to $75. I think our meal cost was about $63. Again the food was good if overpriced, the service was very good and the atmosphere is exactly what you would expect from a restaurant called T-Rex. Since we've done it once, we probably wouldn't go back. There are just too many other places to eat in the area.

Food and service was great. A wonderful treat for kids...very cool. This was our second time here. If you plan on going here, try an off hour (we went at 2:30)...it is much less crowded.

This place is very similar to Rainforest Cafe except obviously it's a dinosaur theme. I don't think it is as loud as Rainforest. The meteor shower is pretty cool. We were in the cave room that changed colors so our kids got a kick out of that.
The food was OK. It didn't wow me or have me hoping to rush back again for another meal but overall it was fun for the kids, so that's what mattered.

Not Many Vegetarian Options

Going into the restaurant, you can definitely tell that it is owned by Rainforest Cafe. I enjoyed the set-up and theme of this one much more, we were constantly looking for the meteor shower. The themed drinks, like discovery blast, were delicious. The only downside was that there were not that many vegetarian options for my sister. She ended up having to get the kids pasta but double the order and price to have it has an adult. The waiter was very nice and accommodating when we were having difficulties deciding what to get. Overall, I would recommend this place over Rainforest Cafe. Definitely a fun and exciting atmosphere!

Atmospere is great. Can tell it's owned by same people as Rainforest. Dinosaurs are cooler though. Food was great. Hubby has the lasagna and I had the half rack of ribs. Food seemed better than last year at the Rainforest though. Loved looking through the Build-a-Dinosaur store. Great concept.

You have to know going in that you're going for the atmosphere first and the food second. This is a great place for kids to eat and have fun at the same time, especially if you have Dinosaur fans. The food is good, but expensive. Definitely not my best meal at WDW, but not the worst either, and very memorable!

We drove from Nickelodeon hotel to have dinner here. The line was enormous, people standing everywhere in a wild rain storm. This is the perfect restaurant for dinosaur lovers like my 7 year old son. The setting is gorgeous, robotic dinosaurs everywhere. Yes, it is loud but who cares, its Dinosaurs. The meteor show is great we ate in the ice cave that changes colors you must eat here Gift shop the is great I bought so much but the best was dinosaur Crocs, never seen them before. We ate the ribs, so big we had 2 orders for 2 kids and 2 adults. We loved it, so good. Onion rings good too. My son had dino nuggets he could care less what he ate, he was in shock
This is not fine cuisine but really good food with a great atmosphere.
It was such a great experience we came back 2 weeks later during our Disney portion of our vacation.
I took off 1 point because they are not on the dining plan. Dino lovers, make your reservations!

We ate here on our recent trip in July to WDW. We've eaten in Rainforest Cafe's before and thought this was an interesting twist on that concept. My older kids liked the dinosaurs and the atmosphere. My 3 year old- not so much. It was very loud, the roaring animals and the meteor shower every twenty minutes frightened here. They do not take the dining plan, so we paid for this one. VERY overpriced. Food was just average. It is something to see once, but definitely not a place I would make a repeat visit to.

Had a reservation for 11 people. Practically no wait at check-in. Although expensive the food was really good. One big issue we faced...when we ordered water it had the worst odor and taste. When brought to the attention of the waiter his very sarcastic remark was "welcome to Florida". Half of our party lives in Florida (about 5 minutes away) and their water is fine. There was also not a problem anywhere else in WDW or at the Doubletree resort. No foul odor or foul taste. The manager compensated by bringing out Iced Teas instead. However...the food was DELICIOUS.

Ate here only to please my 8 yr old and was pleasantly and thoroughly surprised and impressed. We were able to walk up and be seated within 10 minutes w/out prior reservations. Yes, it was loud. But....it was supposed to be! Meteor showers are not quiet events!! The food was not fine cuisine. Instead, it was was kid and parent pleasin'. It was also enough to feed a team of hungry dinos. We had a blast....pardon the pun.

This was our surprise for DS-7, he is dinosaur crazed. He really enjoyed the dinosaurs coming to life.
The food was good, my husband stated "Finally a good steak." I got the appetizer platter which was more than I could eat. It was a little expensive to eat here but what place isn't in Disney.
We went to the build-a-dino after dinner and we now have Rocky the triceratops.

This was our third visit to TRex. The only reason we returned is because our son LOVES anything and everything dinosaur. But after this trip, we have reached our limit.
The good - we were seated immediately.
The not good - the last trip the food was not good and overpriced. This trip the food was really bad and really overpriced. DH had the Paleonzoic Chicken Sandwich - Fried pizza dough with grilled chicken, lettuce, bacon, pepper jack cheese, avocado, tomato and lemon aioli - He didn't hate it the last trip, so decided it was a safe bet. WRONG. The pizza dough was raw and the chicken was dry. There was no flavor to this sandwich at all.
Last trip I had the fish sandwich (which was terrible)..surprise, surprise..it isn't on the menu anymore. So I tried the Stegosaurus Steak and Cheese Sandwich - Traditional-style cheese steak with sautéed onions, peppers and mushroom, topped with melted Monterey jack and Swiss cheeses served with lettuce and tomatoes on a toasted hoagie roll. Interesting...this is the first time I looked at the online menu - not sure if the one in the rest. was different? but there was not a single onion, pepper or mushroom on my sandwich. hmmm. There was barely any steak and what was there, was tough and covered in melted American cheese. It was really bad. I actually had to put ketchup on it for some flavor. Yuk!!
The other thing that makes me crazy about this place..the prices are over the top expensive...I get that you are paying for the *experience* - but fries are not included?!?!?! Seriously?!?! When paying $15.00 for a sandwich or $ 17.00 for a burger!!! They feel the need to charge extra for fries vs. chips? And the kiddos don't even have fries as an option...how many kids want jello, mashed potatoes or a banana with their burger or hot dog? Our DD had the pasta and it was fine. DS had the Shrimpkens - Popcorn shrimp and Jurassic chicken tidbits - they were nasty. I tried one of each. Cold and no flavor.
Never again will we return here.
