Pros: Great Value,Wonderful theme!
Cons:

We stayed at All Star Movies Nov 1-8 2009, this was our second visit and stayed here the same week in 2008.We were hooked in 2008 and happy again this year, the rooms are clean and well themed , my daughter is a Toy Story Nut so we stay in Andy's room :0) The staff is friendly and goes above and beyond, our room was so nice to come back to a night they toys were on the bed playing cards and a few would be watching tv and they would really tidy when they came in. We also never waited more than 15 minutes for a bus we went to the parks 7 days and park hopped a few days , so we were on about 40 buses to and from places and only had to stand 2 and that was at our choice, the next bus was pulling up or expected in afew. We can't say enough good things about Disney and the value of staying onsite.. We are planning to come back to All Stars again. I save my money for the parks :0)

Pros: Best $$$ on Disney Property
Cons: No fridge in room/transportation is slow.

We stayed at All Star Movies in September of 2009 and really enjoyed our stay. It is a value resort and I think guest need to go into it with that in mind. The rooms, pools and food courts are very basic but it has everything you really need. My 1 yo DD, 6yo nephew and 9yo neice all enjoyed the pool even though it didn't have a slide. I think they didn't know what they were missing.
We will stay here again but will be renting a car because the transportation from the AllStar resorts is slow. They are very far away from the parks and we would rather relax in the peace of our own car with DD safely in her car seat than ride the busses for an hour or so a day!

Pros: clean and great staff
Cons:

Stayed her for a grand gathering of 15 using 4 rooms. All rooms in a row in the Mighty Ducks area. Could use the walkway outside the rooms to visit after putting kids to bed.

Kids and adults enjoyed both pools.

Rooms clean and 4 fit easily. We had to extend the stay for 5 of us as the one year old got a double ear infection and couldn't fly. The front desk helped us with all the changes and we could keep the room we were in. They even helped us get to Target for more diapers and formula. For a difficult situation, they did more than expected for us.

Pros: good for kids and large families
Cons: needs major refurb

Let me preface this by saying that I am a huge Disney fan and have been to WDW numerous times and stayed in a variety of hotel on property at a variety of price levels. My partner and I stayed here for our "honeymoon" from September 23-28. Although my personal hotel preference is for Port Orleans Riverside or the Caribbean Beach, we decided to save some money (and we took advantage of the free meal plan) and stay at this hotel instead. BIG mistake.

Our room was on the first floor of the Mighty Ducks section, right by the pool. The walk looked much further on the map than it actually was - couldn't believe how small the hotel actually was, or how many children were at this hotel. This hotel is VERY popular with large families and the kids under 5 crowd (i.e - the ones that are still in strollers - more on that one later).

We basically went to the room, changed our shoes, and went out to the parks. It was not until we got back at 11pm that evening that I took a look at the room itself. FILTHY!!! Where do I start - the AC unit had a gap separating it from the wall that had what appeared to be mold growing out of it. The dresser was covered in marker and crayon. The rug looked as though it hadn't been shampooed in a few years. The vent in the bathroom was louder than the space shuttle. The bathtub grout was black - and the shower curtain was too. And my favorite part - the sink faucet handle would come off in your hand when you turned it on - pull up and it came right off. I'm sorry but that disgrace of a room is unacceptable - I wouldn't stay in a Motel 6 that was that bad, and I certainly would not stay in a DISNEY hotel that bad.

Called the front desk - told them what was wrong. Went through 3 people who were crabby and wanted to know why I wanted to change rooms - even suggested they have someone come out to FIX it. Sorry no - want a new room. At this point it is 11:30PM and I'm exhausted and am told I can't have a new room till the AM and to call back at 7am. Fine. I did. Guess what - no one at the front desk made a record of ever speaking to me. Went through 3 more people who grilled me as to why I wanted to switch room. Finally I got so fed up that I demanded to speak to a manager and went on a tirade about how disgusted I was that Disney would put me through all this for a new room, how filthy my room was, etc. An hour later we had a new room one floor above our old one. Much cleaner although these rooms are in desperate need of cleaning and rehab.

Buses were actually pretty good. Not really a big fan of having to SHARE a bus with the other two resorts (the lines coming back from parks were ridiculous because the buses are shared). Also - because this is probably the most kid friendly of the resorts - the buses were FULL of strollers - more than I have ever seen. If you took all the strollers off those buses you could have easily fit 30 more people in them.

Bottom line - the hotel is really just a place to sleep. The atmosphere is decent at best - more for the kids than anything else. Personally, i think that you should just take the extra 20-30 bucks and upgrade to a moderate resort like Port Orleans -- you get a slightly bigger room, better service, and just a better overall ambiance.

Pros: clean rooms
Cons: staff

We stayed here October 24th for 1 night for a second visit to this resort, however, we have stayed at AS Music 7 times this year. On checking in, the cast member was so uninformed and gave me wrong information several times. This started the day off so wrong. I left for the park but was so upset I came back and saw a different cast member who gave me the correct info and contradicted everything the first cast member had said her. I loved that this second cast member knew her business. But it leaves a bad feeling when you know more about protocol than the people that work there. The rooms, of course, are sufficient for sleeping and were clean. It was the smallest tv I have ever seen in my life. No other problems but will not stay here again and would not recommend it at all. Did not use the bus system since it is the last pick up and we preferred to walk to AS Music to eat.

Pros: Disney atmosphere, CLEAN room, great food choices!
Cons: NONE

We have stayed here several times in the past, with all excellent experiences. This time was no exception. We stayed in the Buzz Lightyear building, third floor in the back, and the room was immaculate. None of the dirty, filthy experiences that others have posted. Housekeeping did a wonderful job each and every day. Housekeeping always arranged my daughter's purchases (stuffed animals) on her bed, which she truly enjoyed! We were a family of three (me, my husband, and 13 year old daughter) and the room was plenty big for the three of us. The food court had great choices as always. We only used the bus service one day of our trip (5 days) but it was fast and efficient. The only thing that I wish was different, is that it would be nice if they would have had pool side activities like All Star Music has. Would and will definitely stay here again!

Pros: Very friendly and helpful staff, great layout and food court
Cons: long lines for concierge, dirty rooms

This was our first stay at this resort. We usually stay at Port Orleans. The staff was much friendlier and much more helpful than in recent years at PO. The food court was great. The pool and grounds were very nice and well kept. There were usually long lines at the concierge & there were often only 1 or 2 people helping even though there were 3 or 4 more behind the counter who appeared to just be talking to each other. We stayed in the Buzz Lightyear section. Our carpet in our room was filthy, turning our socks black. There was trash, including food scraps, under our bed when we arrived that never were vaccuumed during our stay. In spite of the negatives, we enjoyed this resort due to the friendly staff. We would stay here again but would love to see better housekeeping.

Pros: Theming, price
Cons: none

We stayed at AS-Mo for the first time, Oct 2-10. I was a bit leery, having seen some bad reviews out there. Not to mention the only other time we stayed on property was for a contest we won, where we were put up in the Polynesian. However, I couldn't be more pleased with our stay!
I had requested a room in Toy Story or Dalmatians, as I really love the theming there. I wasn't really picky, just didn't want to be in The Love Bug or Mighty Ducks, since those aren't as 'Disney' feeling as I would like.

I did online check in at home so the check in process was very smooth...although we were celebrating both my children's birthdays while there and they only had my son's listed on the reservation. When I was given my room info, I found that it was in Mighty Ducks...groan! The desk clerk advised that my requested rooms were Preferred, which I hadn't paid for. Oh well, it was just a request and I knew it couldn't hurt to try. I wasn't upset about it, just a little bummed about being in the back of the complex.

Well, it turned out to be a great room after all! We were right by the quiet pool and laundry room, and took advantage of both. The check out clerk had advised us that we were actually closer to the Music bus stop than the Movies bus stop. So it took all of two minutes to walk over and use the Music bus stop. We did this every day, and just caught Music buses home from the parks.

We spent most of our swimming time at the quiet pool, but did do the Fantasia pool a couple of times and loved it as well.

Our room was bright and cheery, and very very clean. The vents, under the beds, corners of the ceiling- all were spotless. We had a Mickey towel animal waiting on the bed, which was really cute and unexpected.

We left for the parks in the morning and didn't return until late evenings, and every day our room was just as clean. We only had to call mouse-keeping once, to get some more toilet paper. They delivered it two minutes after I called. No complaints at all!

We ate breakfast at the food court every day. We had the dining plan, and everything went smoothly. The food was nothing to write home about, but edible. Just as I expected it to be.

As much as I missed the convenience of the monorail at the Polynesian, I can't justify spending all that extra money just for the transportation. We are only at the resort to sleep and shower :-) I would definitely recommend Movies to anyone considering staying on site. I'd like to get Pop a try as well, but we will make sure to come back to Movies soon!

Pros: price,theming
Cons:

Stayed here for the second time on 8/18-8/24. I love ASMovies for the theming-- the giant Pongo and Perdita are great. There was a conference halfway through the trip, so breakfasts became a little crowded, but we normally just stopped to grab a muffin and hop on the bus.

Made sure we used the pool this time around, and it wasn't too shabby. The Fantasia fountain is awesome.

The food court was pretty decent, we ate there at least once a day, sometimes twice.

Mousekeeping did great things like arrange my boyfriend's pirate Mickey on the bed, and our Vinylmation Mickeys on the window sill when we got back in.

Lines for the bus actually were not too bad going to the parks (coming home is a different story, but I saw long lines for all the hotels...).

Overall, the room is pretty good for the price; honestly, I jam so much into a Disney vacation, we did not spend too much time in the room anyway, so I did not care if there was no Jacuzzi or a pool with a slide. it was comfortable, it was clean, and everyone working there was really nice-- that's all that counts with me!

Pros: Friendly staff
Cons:

The first room we were given (paid for preferred room) smelled like mildew and the carpeting and end of the bed was wet. With no fuss or muss, they moved us to another room (even moving our luggage for us) and the rest of the stay was perfect. The rooms are not too large but since most of the days are spent in the parks, it does not seem to be a big deal.

Pros: price, food court, service, on property, ambiance
Cons: small rooms, outdated, not very clean

We stayed at AS Movies 8/30-9/6. It was a great vacation in many ways and lacked in some others. I guess I will review the negative first: 1.) the room was not exceptionally clean. We found a pair of reading glasses between the bed and nightstand on the floor which lead me to believe that they did not vacuum under the beds. Later in the week after one of my children had spilled popcorn on the floor, I discovered that they indeed did not vacuum under the bed. There was also a black ring under the rim of the toilet and some cobwebs in the corner. 2.) the room was a VERY standard room. Luckily we did not expect more and the price was fair for what we got. We had gotten the preferred room so it was in a quiet area and close to the main building. 3.) the rooms are VERY outdated. Extremely low quality bedding and furniture. I did not expect 1200 thread count sheet and a plasma TV but I did feel like I was in a 1980's motel!

Now for the positive: 1.) We stayed in the Buzz building and my kids LOVED the "Andy's Room" set up outside. The loved the playground and the pool as well. By being in the first building, we ere able to get to the food court, shopping area, shuttles and front desk in minutes. 2.) The price was great. It averages about $100 a night. We had just been on vacation to Florida 6 weeks prior and had a great condo on the beach that was gorgeous and huge. we also paid three times as much so you get what you pay for. 3.) No complaints at all about the food court. we were surprised wit the quality of the food actually! It was crowded at certain times of day but that is to be expected. They make every effort to accommodate you. 4.) The service was great. The mousekeeping, although lacking (but I attribute this to policy more than an individual) was great. They kept an eye on when you left so as to not bother you. They did cute little things like setting up my daughter's stuffed "Boo" and my son's stuffed Mickey with the remote on their laps watching TV. The front desk would go above and beyond to help you with anything.

The bad parts of the vacation involved the combination of heat, overstimulation, an ear and sinus infection and my two year old son. But my daughter loved EVERY SINGLE PART of the vacation! Thanks Disney!

Pros: Front Desk was friendly and very prompt on checkin.
Cons: Rooms need to be refurbished; old and worn looking

We stayed at Movies 9/14-9/18. The AC never cooled the room; called maintenance and was told to just put it on 60 degrees. This didn't help either. Housekeeping was good. We had requested a preferred room and was given one close to food court. The tables in the food court was dirty and needed to be cleaned everytime we went in there.

Pros: kid friendly
Cons: bus service, cleanliness, room condition

We stayed there 9/21-9/26 with three boys 3,3,and 5. The good points. The front desk staff were friendly, food court plenty of choices, kids pool was nice, comfortable beds, lots of towels, and kids thought the statues were great.

The bad - when I made the reservations, I upgraded to preferred. We were guaranteed connecting rooms b/c we were a party of 5 and the children out numbered the adults. I had requested the Toy Story wing (my boys love Buzz), not close to the pool, refrigerator, bedrails and a king size bed in one room (that one was the only thing I didn't really care if I got it or not). Well, we had connecting rooms in the Fantasia wing with the pool as our view, no fridge, no bedrails and in handicapped room. Every time I called to make a payment or confirm something, I checked on our reservations and all our requests were on the reservation. What happened, I do not know. My husband didn't want me to ask for a room change and boy did he regret that at 11 pm when the screams were still coming from the pool.

The rooms are shabby, the light in the one bathroom flickered and buzzed. The other bathroom, the door frame had an area which had rusted away. I wasn't expecting much being in a value resort but I expected a little better.

The bus service to the parks was good when Movies was the only hotel being picked up. Leaving the parks was another story. Magic Kingdom is the only park which has a bus solely for Movies. All the other parks combine Sports, Music and Movies. We just looked for the longest line and knew it was our bus.

My brother is going to Disney in January and I told him to steer clear of this resort complex. We decided on the first day (few minutes in the room) we would NEVER stay there again. In fact, we had seriously contemplated switching resorts but decided to stay b/c the boys liked it so much.

Pros: bus service
Cons: cleanliness

Stayed at resort 9/13-9/20. Decided to stay here based on theming and budget and boy was it a mistake. We were in the Mighty Ducks building on the 3rd floor.

First problem was we had requested adjoining rooms being that my daughter and I were going along with my mother. We were given rooms near each other and told we had to ask for connecting rooms if that was what we wanted. The rooms seemed clean at first but when you looked in the corner of the room, there were cob webs along with dirt under the bed and in the corner of the room.

People need to also remember that you have to walk outside to get to your rooms. I am telling you this because on one day there was an armadillo running around on the second floor. It had come up the steps and got stuck. Another family we ran into that was staying on the first floor found a large black snake with a white head outside there door. Luckily this was towards the end of our visit.

Lines for the concierge were unbelievable. Often had to wait 45 minutes to an hour just to print out a boarding pass or dining tickets. Not the same response I got when I visited the Polynesian (there I was helped in less than a min). So you do get what you pay for.

Pros: Theme, Great Value, Clean
Cons: None

We stayed from 8/21 - 8/27. 1st floor Woody building. The resort was very clean and nice. The room is not a suite but it was fine for us, we had 6 years old twins and were able to relax after spending most of the time at the parks. The room was clean & mousekeeping was very good too, the kids loved the theme comforters, But they should spend some $ remodeling the rooms a bit, a bigger TV, newer chairs, some fresh paint, not much.

The bus schedules were very good, hardly any wait at all times. Food court was clean, food was good. Check in & Check-out was quick & friendly. If you use the Express Airline Check out, you can pay over the phone for your luggage fee.

Overall great, wonderful, magical experience, will stay there again.
