We (DH and I) ate lunch at Flame Tree BBQ on April 22nd - AK's 15th anniversary! We were headed to Epcot, and so we chose to split a chicken/ribs plate so that we could snack in the World Showcase that afternoon. The BBQ was amazing - tender meat and flavorful sauces. Coleslaw and beans were pretty run-of-the-mill. The only negative was that the best seating locations (overlooking the water/Everest) were already taken, or full of people saving seats for others.

We ate here twice on our recent visit, April 3-April 11, 2013. Food is great, lines move quickly, staff are friendly! We recommend everything, but particularly the ribs and the pulled pork sandwich. We always eat at the pavillion around back, with a beautiful water view and a view of Expedition Everest.
Will eat here again and again!!

Food review:
1/2 Slab of St. Louis Ribs - The meat was good, but the BBQ sauce added great extra flavor. The coleslaw as a side was good. I didn't get the beans.
Smoked Pork Sandwich - Good but also needed extra BBQ sauce
Key Lime Pie - Refreshing, good taste. A nice deviation from my usual chocolate cake dessert!
Chocolate mousse - Good as always. Disney does great chocolate cake.

Ate here our first day, all ordered ribs & chicken. Husband b-day and castmembers all gathered together and sang Happy Birthday and gave him a cupcake. Castmember helped us with trays and led us to a nice shaded quiet area down by the water. We had no complaints and everyone agreed we would return again.

Finding a table

My mom, my brother and myself ate here on February 15th and it was wonderful! My mom order the pulled pork sandwich and my brother & I both ordered the combination chicken & ribs. We all enjoyed our food. The meat just feel right off the ribs. This was possibly our favorite meal of the trip! Will definitely make this a regular stop on future trips.
The only con I can possibly list is that finding a table was a little difficult. Yes there are several sitting areas but even with that it was very crowded and hard to find an empty table.

I would rate The Flame Tree BBQ as one of the best places on WDW property for a counter service meal. The Ribs, Chicken, and Pork Sanwich are great. My wife, normally has the smoked chicken sald and she said it is also very good. We try and eat here at least once when we come to WDW.
The only downside is the birds which are constantly milling about.

We never miss the Flame Tree when visiting the AK. This time there was an even better feel to eating there. Extra cast memebers were stationed at the ordering counters to ask if there were questions about the menu, and to direct customers to seating and where to pick up condiments. The food was great as always, my DH enjoyed the salad, the rest of us enjoyed the Barbecued chicken meal. My DD asked for grapes instead of the cole slaw and beans, and it was gladly substituted. Make the effort to walk a little farther and sit by the water, it is very calming and you can watch the folks enjoying Expedition Everest! We never have trouble with the birds, just don't pay attention to them or feed them and they usuually leave you alone.

Wonderful food! We like that we can add our own amount of BBQ sauce. The sides were great! We added onion rings to our order, and we were very impressed by them. The outdoor seating is great! It is quite a walk to some of the areas to sit. Since they do not give out straws or lids, you have to watch your drinks. The only problem is the constant birds bugging you while you are eating.

Condiments were tough to find

My family ate here for the second time in January 2013. The BBQ ribs and chicken are a nice alternative to the typical burgers and chicken nuggets that are typically served at counter service restaurants. The food came out quickly and was very good. The portions were generous. My family especially enjoyed the desserts.
There's plenty of seating here, and it's spread out a bit so that you're not sitting incredibly close to the neighboring table. My only complaint was that everyone in the restaurant had to search for the condiments and napkins. They were under a pavilion which wasn't labeled. The only way you found them was when someone saw you looking puzzled, they'd point you in the right direction.

We decided to eat at Flame Tree for lunch when we were at Animal Kingdom. My husband and I had the pulled pork sandwich. Ryan had the ribs and my daughter had the smoked chicken leg. My sandwich was good - needed more sauce and then realized that the sauce was on the condiment station after I ate it (yeesh). My daughter was still hungry after her kids meal and had a couple of her brother's pork ribs, which she loved. The key lime dessert was okay - strange gelatin on the top - but the flavor was good. Would go back again.

We have been to Flame tree before but this time it was amazing. We were in Animal Kingdom on Tues. Jan. 29. 2013 as soon as we walked into the park all you could smell was the amazing bbq that was cooking! So we knew where we were eating that day! We decided to get the ribs and chicken plate and the bbq chicken salad. My picky daughter loved the chicken and me and my husband ate the ribs which were good. The plate came with baked beans oh which were so amazing they had some pulled pork in it, ugh it was great. The bbq chicken was so good I was surprised because I am not a big fan of all the different things in the salad. Oh but in my top five meals of the trip!

Anytime we are in the Animal Kingdom, we go to Flame Tree. Someone suggested it to us one time and we now go there when we visit the park. Considering this is a quick service location (I think), the food is great and the price is reasonable for what you get. I like the pulled pork sandwich and the ribs and they are both very tasty.
Seating for Flame Tree is quite unique. There are various pavillions with plenty of seating. It seems like the pavillions go on forever and ever.
I highly recommend Flame Tree. You won't be disappointed.

Attack bird/duck

I found that the food was very tasty, although it seemed to chill quickly. We loved the beans, but didn't care for the cole slaw, if we were to eat there again we would probably request to substitute the cole slaw for more beans. We really liked the creativity in the seating options, its was beautiful. The only thing that we did not like was this strange bird/duck that had a very long bill that was jumping up and eating people's food and running around. We solved this problem easily though by moving to a different seating hut.

We love Flame Tree and always eat lunch here when in Animal Kingdom. The meat portions are large and folks could easily split a plate. Lunch is a bit pricy, but what Disney restaurant is not? We had a free DDP so it was not an issue. Service was quick.

This is a great value if you are on the DDP. However, by the time we got to our table the food was barely warm.
DD and I had the chicken and rib combo. It was tasty.
