Pros: This place was great! The housekeeping was incredible and we loved all the towel animals!
Cons:

My Mom and I stayed here Oct. 18-24 and had a great time. We picked this resort because it was a value resort but it has a lot of the qualities of other more expensive ones. The rooms are so cute. All the details Disney puts into the carpeting and the bedding are amazing! We will definitely stay here again.

Pros: Clean and quiet
Cons: small rooms & beds

We stayed at ASMu 10/9-10/16 and this was our first visit to WDW staying onsite. We were very happy with our room, although we were in the Broadway building (#8) which was a little bit of a walk from the food court, but not unbearable.
The room was always clean and quiet and we were within close proximity to the piano pool, which we used more often then the guitar pool and we found it to be quiet and not alot of splashing.
We really enjoyed our stay and although the beds were a little small for us (2 doubles) with a 12 1/2 year old that is 5'6" and a 6' husband, it was bearable. We also have a 4 year old and didn't realize until the last night that bed rails are available for no charge.....spent many nights worrying about him falling out of bed needlessly.
I would definitely stay here again, but might opt for the suites for a little more room.

Pros: Sparkling clean room, very quiet
Cons: none

I was at All Star Music from 9-27 to 10-3 and it was an excellent experience. I was in Jazz 2 (as requested)on the third floor. This might be the cleanest hotel room I've ever had. Mousekeeping (Ginette) was excellent and left entertaining towel animals each day. I was at this resort by myself - my family was at a deluxe resort that was wonderful but I would say my experience at All Star Music was just as good or better for less than half the price. It was a magic week!

Pros: Big rooms
Cons: Room cleanliness

Stayed here in Sept. 09. It was our first time at this property and will will absolutely stay here again! Check in was simple and pain free (just make sure you are the first off the bus). Our room was big and loved having 2 bathrooms. We did have a problem with the cleanliness of the room. Nothing we couldn't take care of though. The food court was big and offered plenty of choices with good food. It was a little confusing the first day, but we figured it our quick. Pools were always crowded. We were so busy we hardly used them anyway. Great hotel! Great price!

Pros: Price, Clean Room
Cons: Noisy by the Pool, Busy During Meal Times at the Food Court

We just returned from the World last week 9/26-10/3 and we had a preferred room at All Star Music. We were in Calypso, Room 602 which was on the 3rd floor overlooking the guitar pool. The room was clean and the Mousekeeping was great. The beds were quite comfortable & the A/C worked great. We were at the parks all day from morning until night, so we just used the room/resort to basically eat, sleep, & shower. Due to the activities each night at the pool, it was quite noisy outside our room since we were right near the pool. It wasn't completely bothersome. We don't have kids and it looked like they really had alot of fun things to do with kids and their families. They had a different Disney movie playing each night, pin trading in the food court, Wii Bowling & Mario Kart competitions, dancing, & karaoke.

The transportation system wasn't bad, but we didn't use it everyday as we were traveling with parents that rented a car. The only thing that was very trying was the food court is way too busy during meal times. At breakfast you had to get up at the crack of dawn in order to not have to stand in line forever for what you wanted. Also the cashier lines were long as well so your food got cold quickly. Also one person had to scope out a place to sit while the others went and got food. Even the beverage island was really busy when you just wanted to get a cup of coffee. The only downside to getting up at the crack of dawn for breakfast was not every food station was open. Only 2 stations (the bakery & the big breakfast station) were open before 7am, the others didn't open until 7am.

All in all this is my 3 visit at the All Star resorts and I would stay there again, especially since its extremely affordable. For me if it means I can come to the World for a week of fun and the All Star Musis is all I can afford, I will put up with the other negative aspects.

Pros: staff
Cons: towels

Stayed in a ASMu family suite. We have traveled often so we've stayed in just about every category of hotel & motel around. We need to watch the budget since we are a family of 6. We've stayed at a cabin and my DH and I have stayed at Wilderness Lodge (I love it!) But for our family vacation, this is our first choice. There are 2 bathrooms, living room with fold out sofa and the chair and ottoman also fold out. A kitchenette with a microwave, mini fridge, sink, and lots of shelf space for food you bring or buy. And a master bedroom with a queen size bed,2 end tables, a chair, desk w/ chair, and tv dresser combo. Nothing fancy but a comfortable place for a week.

We enjoy both pools. Piano is a great quiet pool. Calypso is a loud fun pool. They play a movie each night there which my family likes to do 1 or 2x.

The best part is the staff. They are soooo friendly and very helpful. We had 3 towel animals when we arrived. We never got more. But they were arranged in very cute ways. Our son's new Dumbo was put up in our sheers to look like it was flying in the window. Very cute!

The worst part is the towels. They really are thin and scratchy.

Great budget choice! Smile

Pros: Great activities at the pool. The Disney staff is great.
Cons: The selection of food in the food court.

This was our second stay at All Star Music. We love that there are lots of activities by the pool. We had a problem with our air conditioning the first day. It seemed quite hot in our room. By the time we got back from the park maintenance had been there and we cooled off quite comfortably for the rest of the week. Our only complaint was by the end of the week we were tired of the food selection in the food court. The food court is a zoo in the morning with the hustle and bustle of everyone trying to get to a park. Our room was clean and comfortable. It was nice to come back and cool off in either the piano or guitar themed pool. The staff was very attentive and very friendly. Overall, we had a great experience at All Star Music. For the price, it can’t be beat.

Pros: value, clean
Cons:

For the price you can't beat the location, and benefits. Sure it doesn't have great food or big rooms, but it IS a value resort. The pool areas are very nice and the staff are typical Disney sweet.
Would definitely go back.

Pros: Value & Convenience & Customer Service
Cons: Room size & hotel amenities

My family and I just returned from a visit to the world. We were at the ASMu from 9/11 thru 9/20. We took advantage of the free dining promotion which makes this hotel an even better value. With the bus service, On-site hotel offer the best convenience of all. The customer service was the best we have had so far. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend this hotel to others.

We stayed in a standard room in a Jazz building. I had requested this location in advance. We did the online check-in 10 days prior which really made check-in quick and easy. No more long lines - yea!!

This is a value hotel so, the room sizes are small. However, are trip was focused around the parks and not the hotel so, room size and hotel amenities was not a priority for us.

Pros: price,Magical Express
Cons: some buildings are quite far away

My husband and I stayed here 9/10-9/14. While we also stay at Deluxe or Moderate resorts on occasion, this made our 6th visit to an All Star resort in the past two years. We will continue to stay and recommend them to folks on a budget, or to travelers like us who don't spend much time in the hotel other than to sleep. We love the theming and nicely cleaned and decorated rooms. Since we stayed using a passholder rate ($64!!) we were even happier!

We usually stay at a "preferred location" room, but since we left the kids and all their paraphenalia at home we decided we'd just take a regular room. We ended up in Broadway 8, and while it was quiet, boy did it feel like a long hike at the end of each day! We'll definitely continue to book preferred rooms in the future.

Food court was good, though Music's is much smaller/narrower than Sports and Movies so we felt a little crammed in at times. We loved the ice cream cones and shakes we ate each night, and the quick grab drinks are great.

Waiting for a bus was no problem for us - the longest wait was 10 minutes one morning to Blizzard Beach. Yes, they can get crowded when you return at night from the parks, but people should be realistic - when you have THOUSANDS of people trying to return at the same time, wouldn't you EXPECT a bus to be crowded? Using common sense at this time and situation would keep many folks from complaining about transportation to/from All Star resorts and Disney transportation in general. Don't leave a park at closing if you don't want to ride on a crowded bus! For those of you who hate that you have to stand, don't get on the bus, but let people go in front of you and wait for the next one.

Yes, the resort can be filled with obnoxious and loud teenagers, but we blame the parents and chaperones who travel with them and either don't teach them proper manners to begin with, or decide not to scold/teach while on vacation. We do our best to ignore them, and it's been very rare that behavior has been intolerable. (Though on this trip my husband did "teach" 3 teenage boys that the proper thing to do is let a pregnant woman and an elderly couple sit in their bus seats. They CAN be taught Smile )

Pros: sitting area in family suite
Cons: uncomfortable pullout, lack of handicap parking

We stayed in the family suite from 8/26 - 9/2. We requested a quiet room when we made our reservation and we were in Jazz building 9. If you want to come back to your room in the afternoon to relax or for a nap, don't stay in the Calypso buildings. They have pool actvities all day and most of the evening right outside these buildings.

Our daughters are 17, 13 and 13. The pullout couch was comfortable for them but the single pullouts were very uncomfortable. My husband layered the two mattresses on top of each other and then it was fine.

It was great to have couches and chairs to sit on instead of just a bed.

My parents traveled with us and my mother is handicapped. There are not enough handicap parking spaces near the buildings. During our week, my father was only able to get a spot twice. They always had to park far away.

All cast members we dealt with were very friendly and helpful. We had some good meals at the food court. It was never too busy.

Pros: Theming, service, spaciousness
Cons: Some neglected areas in maintenance

We stayed for 11 nights 8/17-8/28 in a Family Suite in Jazz #9. Couldn't have asked for a better location for my family. We were close to both pools and our rooms overlooked a quite park-like play ground.

Checkin was smooth. We did not use online checkin, but we were in and out quicker than some of the folks on that line. We were given buttons for our celebrations (family reunion and birthday) and wished a pleasant say.)

Upon arrival in the room, I was happily surprised. It was bigger than I anticipated and was very clean - with one exception. The main air duct over the kitchenette was covered (and I mean COVERED) with dust. The dust also extended all over the ceiling in the kitchenette area. This wasn't a major deal (everything else was SPOTLESS), so on the way to eat dinner in the food court I stopped at the front desk and alerted the manager. By the time our dinner was complete, maintenance had been there and completely scrubbed the kitchenette from ceiling to floor - AND replaced the vent. GREAT SERVICE!

Housekeeping was great. Over our 11 nights, we received 11 different towel animals. I know you should never expect them, and I felt completely spoiled that we got one each night. My son loved to come back and see what surprise was left for him to play with. Each one was more intricate than the next. Our housekeeper actually made a birthday cake out of towels and hand delivered it so she could sing "Happy Birthday!" Totally made our day!

The pools were nice. The piano pool was more our speed. DS is small and just likes to play quietly ... he's not ready for the running and jumping and splashing that goes on at the main pool.

We didn't use the bus service much as we had a car. But the few times we did use it, there was a typical wait of about 15 minutes. No problems. (Personally, I don't like the new automated spiels on the busses ... I miss the bus drivers talking to you directly.)

Most of our cast member interactions were positive ones. We were there on the last day of some of the college program CM's and it was nice to see them hugging and promising their new friends that they would all keep in touch.

All in all, this was a great visit. Great value for the money and we will definitely return.

Pros: two bathrooms, pool activities, family friendly
Cons: food court, busses

Just returned from an 8 night stay at All Star Music. Loved the family suite, it was great to have two bathrooms and a kitchenette for breakfasts and snacks. We were located very close to the main building and pool and that was a definite plus. The kids loved the activities by the pool and the indoor activities when it rained. Food court was not the best, but typical for a value resort. Our main complaint was the buses. It was not great sharing with the other All Stars, particularly at park closing. Overall, this was a great value for a family of five and we would stay again.

Pros: Family Suite is a must
Cons: Missing that "Disney" feeling

Stayed 7 day/6 nite in the Calypso Building, Family Suite 8/19 to 8/26. For a “value” resort you can’t beat the Family Suite. This was a mid-year “budget” trip we squeezed in as a result of the free dining offer. For a 6 nite, 4 adult, PH with Waterparks for less than $3K with airfare the Value Resorts are the ticket! If you’re an “on property, room for sleeping only” person…. this is the place to be. We knew it would be a little less spectacular than our WL Club Level stay from 2008, but we can’t live like kings all of the time.

Plenty of room in the kitchenette refrigerator. We stocked up with 1-gal milk, half-gallon of ½ & ½ (DW hates non-dairy for her coffee addiction), grapes, 2 big bottles of tonic water, 12 cans of coke, 1 case of bottled water and still had room to store those items we couldn’t eat at the restaurants. Microwave was handy for midnight reheats of those doggy bags. Resort provided paper plates, bowls, plastic fork/knife/spoon and endless paper towels. We brought 4 Rubbermaid re-sealable containers to use for cereal and 4 spoons from home which is a must! We used the containers and lids to bring home left over cereal and cookies in our luggage. Coffee cups, sugar, Splenda and coffee in room for the first morning starter. Once I was up and dressed I used our refillable mugs to bring back coffee for DW.

Two bathrooms really helped get us going each morning or after swimming and rushing for an ADR in the evening. Two sinks in the deluxe is nice, but 2 showers in a Family Suite is what really cuts prep time for me and my 3 girls.

Only 2 complaints about ASMusic: Disney “feel” & Transportation - I didn’t really get the “Disney ambiance” at this resort, and transportation was always slow. We had ADR at WL and GF and got the “Disney” feeling just from being in the lobby and interacting with cast. Don’t get me wrong, every cast member we encountered at ASMusic was great and did everything they could to help us it’s just not the same. I just miss the ambiance.

Bus Transportation is your only choice and depending on location, you often share with the ASSports & ASMovies. We never stayed until park closing, but we always had a wait of 2-3 buses before we boarded and then we usually had to stand. I had to stand on almost every trip so that my girls could sit. Being 6’-7” doesn’t leave much head room on those bumpy rides in the back of the bus!
