Pros: a great variety of great food
Cons:

We had lunch here on May 4th. Our granddaughter was all excited about seeing Donald and Daisy. We checked in and were handed a pager and sat for about 10 minutes. We were then called to go in. We got our group picture in front of the mask. We sat in a nice quiet alcove. I love the food at Boma and Sanna and was not disappointed here either. The beef was some of the best I have eaten anywhere. Even the picky little one found lots to eat She enjoyed her visits with the characters and we were abet to get lots of pictures. Our service was wonderful of course. We have never had bad service at any sit down Disney restaurant. We don't visit AK as much as Epcot or MK but Tusker House will be the go to place if I can't get a Boma reservation.

Pros: selection of food,waitress

First time trying lunch here. Even my picky 10 year old twins really enjoyed the selections and no one left hungry! Wonderful waitress who did not rush us.

Pros: Great food selection for everyone & Characters!!
Cons: It's a buffet

We come to Disney each year and this was our first time trying Tusker House. We tend to shy away from buffets, but the original appeal was the characters. We were delighted that they give you plenty of time with each character and they pose for pictures. On the other hand, we were surprised by how well we enjoyed the food! All vegetables and salads were very fresh, and many different flavors appealed to everyone in our group. Our personal favorites were the Curry Chicken, Mango Salsa, Apple/Blue Cheese Salad, Salmon, Seafood stew, and the bread pudding were all to die for. We will make this an annual stop from now on.

Pros: Characters
Cons: food

We were there Jan 30 for lunch. Used our table service but it was a buffet with less than quick service quality food. Placards above the food, that indicated what was in the case, still had some of the breakfast items listed on them. Also food was not very good, only the mango chutney and mashed potatoes tasted good. They should reduce this to a quick service meal. Not worth the 18% tip asked for. Would have been a disaster except for opportunity to have pics made w/characters

Pros: Such amazing variety, fun seeing the characters
Cons: Little bit of chaos outside with so many people and different stages of check-in/photo taking

We had "brunch" here on November 24 - technically a lunch but so early that there was still breakfast food out. We love the variety here. I had salmon, vegetables, cous cous, blintzes, bobotie and corned beef hash. Family members had breakfast breads, carved meats, salads, etc. Something for everyone! And hooray for jungle juice. Delicious. We had a good time with the characters and loved their safari wear. The kids liked being the parade around the room with Goofy and playing instruments. The wait outside was a bit chaotic, perhaps because it was Thanksgiving weekend, but it didn't detract from the overall experience.

Pros: Food was pretty good. Crystal Palace better for lunch/dinner
Cons:

First time we tried this place, and overall we liked it. Food was good and character interaction was good as well. But dont think we'd go back. As buffet's go Crystal Palace was much better.

Pros: Great way to see the characters
Cons: Loud

We dined here for the first time in October. We loved meeting Donald and the other characters. We were very disappointed in the food. The empty dishes on the buffet were not replaced in a timely manner. The food was not warm. Also we did not like the seasoning used on much of the food. Our server would disappear for long periods leaving us without beverage refills which we desperately needed due to the seasoning on the food. We will likely dine here again, but will do so for breakfast, never again for lunch or dinner.

Pros: Great food, different from other buffets, Characters
Cons: Not alot of dessert selections

I wanted to do character meals at all the parks so I wouldn't have to wait in 90min lines to get pictures and autographs. Wasn't sure if we were going to like Tusker House but it turned out to be a favorite meal for us.

We had an 11:30 ADR, but it coincided with our FPass for the safari. The hostess was so nice, she told us as long as we returned before 5:00pm, they would honor our reservation. So we returned around 2:00 and only had to wait about 15mins to be seated. My DD(5) was thrilled to see Donald Duck, but was disappointed when we were told we couldn't get his autograph.

We had a nice table in a corner, away from the people carrying plates to and from the buffet. They just replenished a lot of the food selections and everything was fresh and hot. The couscous was excellent. My mother raved about the salmon an actually went back for seconds (which she never does). The kids buffet was pretty standard, chicken nuggets, mac&cheese - but the corn dog minis were great.

The characters were great. And this is one of the only buffets where you can see Daisy. The characters took their time with my daughter, she told each of them that her birthday was the following day and they all signed Happy Bday in her autograph book. She got a real thrill out of Goofy when he grabbed my fathers hat and tried to put it on this head. I think that was her favorite character moment.

Overall we thought all the food was really good and the selections are not what you'll find at all the other buffets. The dessert section could use a few more & better choices, but the oatmeal raisin & chocolate chip cookies were great.

I had PhotoPass Plus so I was handed our family pix with Donald, but I saw a lot of people complaining about the $30 price tag. That is rather a lot to charge for pictures. We did not use the dining plan this trip but Tusker House was well worth the price. If it wasn't for the lack of dessert choices, I would have given it a 10 rating.

Pros: characters
Cons: wait time

Went to this restaurant for the characters and my grandson was happy to get pics and autographs from Mickey, Goofy and Daisy. What I didn't understand was that you could take a pic with Donald but were not allowed to get his autograph. This made no sense to me. Would really like to know the reason for this. Then they tried to sell you a $30 package of pictures. Had an ADR for 11:00 but was not seated until almost 12. The food was good and our server did a good job. Not sure if this meal was worth the price. I guess if your goal is to get pictures with Donald and Daisy, it may be but you would probably be better off looking for them at a meet and greet in one of the other parks.

Pros: Characters
Cons: Cold food, $30 photo

Jeers - part of checking in is to have your photo taken with Donald Duck by one of the Disney Cast Members. At the end of the meal a person stops by the table and asks if for $30 we want to buy the photo. Of course the children do understand why the photo is not purchased. Cheers - it is always great to see the faces of children as a Disney character stops by and they are able to have their photo taken. Jeers - unfortunately, as I have read in other reviews, the food was not warm and the people did not seem to care.

Pros: food buffet was delicious
Cons: hectic and noisy atmosphere

We dined on 8/28/12 for the lunch buffet. We had 11am reservations and actually caught the tail end of breakfast foods before they replaced the buffet with the lunch items. Bonus! The characters were great. We saw Donald outside before getting seated. Then Goofy, Daisy, and Mickey came table-side for pictures and autographs. Our 5 year old twins were in heaven. The only one they mentioned they wished they could have seen was Minnie. The atmosphere in this restaurant was a little hectic and quite noisy, but we didn't mind. Our server was very attentive and brought drink refills before we even had to ask for them!

Pros: Assortment of ethnic food, lots of options, characters!
Cons: Loud and busy

We had lunch at Tusker House this past Monday. It was a lot of fun! I made our reservations five months in advance, but we still got a lunch time of 2:25. We were able to be seated at 2, though. Next time I'll book even further in advance, because 2:00pm is not the best time to ask a 4 year old to sit still. Smile He was sleepy and a little grumpy, but then he noticed Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, and Goofy walking around and cheered right up!

The food was really good. There was a wide assortment, including many different meats - roasted chicken, roasted beef, and salmon. The vegetable samosas were amazing. There was a small kids buffet that had corn dogs, pbj sandwiches, and a few kid friendly sides. Our son ate the regular food, though, just not the more adventurous stuff like the curry dishes. There was a good selection of breads and dips, which was fun to try. Desserts were so good! I had baklava, and my son and husband had some little chocolate and berry mousse tarts.

The only downside was that the restaurant was very loud and busy. The servers were constantly up and down the aisles busing dishes. I guess that's good that it's efficiently run, but it made it seem kind of frantic when you add in traffic to and from the buffe. Our server didn't rush us, though, and we still had a nice late lunch.

Pros: Ease of Getting Reservation
Cons: Food Quality

Love Tusker House for lunch. This was our first experience for a Dinner service. Meal seemed rushed due to ressies being close to closing. Food quality at lunch is much better. Would recommend that they change up the menu items - they have been relatively the same for the last few years.

Pros: Variety of food
Cons: Buffet to tables was not a good layout

We booked for a late lunch. The check in and waiting area is outside and a very awkward space. The hostesses also seemed to lack professionalism.

Once seated we found the space very noisy and not just because of the characters and kids. Every surface is a hard one. There is nothing to absorb sound. If you have a child with sensory issues find a different character meal (Garden Grill in EPCOT would be a good one).

But the main reason we were there was to eat. The food was excellent and varied. There were plenty of basic dishes like roasted chicken or pork loin and breads. There were also more adventerous dishes as well. The desserts were small but many to choose from so you could enjoy several. Waitstaff did a nice job too.

Incidently, we started our AK day with this meal at 2pm. We went to the safari after the meal and found only a five minute wait and lots of animals out in the afternoon.

Pros: Great food
Cons:

Lunch was great, perfect place to get away from the rides and attractions and regroup.
