Positive aspects of the product (pros): good variety
Cons: all the desserts had nuts

My family and I ate dinner here with a reservation on New Years Day. Being that it was a holiday, a number of places had already been booked so we kind of took this reservation as not much else was available.
I should point out that I am allergic to nuts. A chef came out to guide me through all the selections and he was very informative. My non allergic family just loaded up on what looked good. There was a very nice selection for all of us and most of the items tasted good. Some of the items had a bot of an exotic theme.
Now unfortunately for me almost all had the deserts had nuts so I had an alternative desert brought to me that was nut free and also taste free. Still we had a nice meal here so I'd give the place a positive rating.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Tons of choices, opportunity to try different tastes, characters, chefs handle allergies exceptionally
Cons: noisy, crowded seating, wait stuff was VERY busy

Tusker House is an excellent buffet in the Walt Disney Resort arsenal. We had a later reservation, but found ourselves an hour early (hunger and heat!) and asked if we could bump up. No problem and we were seated in 5 minutes. Waitress was a bit off, and kept forgetting our drinks (we were able to ask another waiter).

Food selection is great and there is something for everyone. Not a five star menu, but very tasty.

Seating is tight, and we ended up basically sitting with another family, which is fine, this is Disney right??? Characters come around for photo ops and autographs (so much better than standing in line in the heat)

Highly recommend, especially if you are on the dining plan. We tend to hit as many All you Can Eat as possible.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): breakfast buffet has delicious alternatives, accomodating for restricted diets, helpful cast members, fun environment
      Cons: none

We did the Tusker House Breakfast buffet starring Mickey and Co. I have absolutely nothing bad to say about eating at Tusker House. I cannot eat Gluten and Dairy. When making the reservation I specified online and told the server. She called the Chef over who walked me around the offerings and told me what I could and could not eat. They have a separate station that is solely for gluten-free foods and other allergens. The cast members are eager to please and make fresh gluten and dairy-free Mickey Waffles. Smile

The buffet offers typical light fares but also neat alternatives like tasty sweet potato dishes and roasted potatoes. There were also other types of meats available. Great food for the adult-types.

We had fun getting our pictures with Mickey and friends and the servers make sure that everyone gets to see ALL the characters. Even if you miss one they will be sure to help you meet one of them on your way out. They only let a few people into the restaurant at a time so it never got very crowded and we didn't have to wait in long lines for food.

It is a fun atmosphere. If you are looking for somewhere to eat that is not loud, however, I would not recommend breakfast at Tusker House. I thought it was a fun way to start the day at Animal Kingdom!

Positive aspects of the product (pros): characters, buffet style, a little of something for everybody
Cons: loud and food not that good

Maybe it was because I was dining after 5 and the restaurant closed at 6. Maybe it was an off day. Maybe I was expecting Boma. I don't know, but this simply wasn't very good. I had a 1710 reservation and was seated after a short wait. The first thing I noticed is how loud it is inside. The decor is beautiful inside and all tile and plaster, wood and glass and with very little textiles to absorb the sound so everything accumulated and echoes. The character interaction was good though and they do a parade through the dining areas with a trail of children and characters. The staff and service was good, but the food was not kept stocked and being close to closing they did not replenish so I didn't have a lot of choose from. Dessert for me was a lone sad cookie. They did have a lot of wonderful sounding choices but the dishes were empty so I couldn't say how they even looked. I left here filled up with fruit and salad and a little meat and veggies and rather disappointed. I suppose I was expecting much more since I had read so many glowing reviews of this place. The food flavors and choices were similar to Boma's but very limited. I was disappointed in the rather small selection in comparison. The food was all okay but just okay. I would return if others in my party wanted to dine there, and certainly earlier in the day and not so close to closing, but I would not return as a solo diner.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): The food, the characters
      Cons: The confusing check-in

We have previously only eaten here for breakfast, but this time, we went for lunch. We were slightly disappointed that Donald did not meet us outside for a picture, but he was inside, along with the other characters. The food here was very good, many different interesting salads to choose from, lots of buffet items, and a carving station as well. The theming is very well done, and the food is always good. A little pricey, but worth it to us.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Food, characters, service
      Cons: None

I was pleasantly surprised with the food - great variety, plenty of it. We went for a late lunch which turned out great since AK was closing early that day. 4 grandkids practically had Mickey, Minnie, Goofy and Pluto to themselves and plenty of room to march in the parade around the restaurant!

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Atmosphere, Characters
      Cons: Cost, slow service

Waited long time even with reservation. Felt very rushed at times. Server was never around. Had to ask other severs for drink refills and when characters would be around our table. For the cost there are other places i will choose next time. Was not overly impressed with the food. Seemed ordinary at best.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Best food at WDW
      Cons: none

If you don't like ethnic food, don't bother (I guess you could make do, but why?). Really good food, nothing too spicy (though I do like spicy), but flavorful. Huge buffet, with a carving and dessert station. Those here who say little selection I am guessing just did not like what they did have. But my sense is that many of these would have been good dishes to order as individual plates. We ate our fill, and didn't need dinner that night!

We went on a very busy day, but it did not feel busy. The characters spent plenty of time--we even had Safari Mickey come back to our table, and he seemed to be wandering around a bit looking for things to do!

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Food Selection
      Cons: Outside Confusion

My family and I visited the Tusker House for lunch during our time at Animal Kingdom. On a prior trip we did the character breakfast which we really enjoyed, so why not try lunch. The food selection and character interaction was just as good, if not better then breakfast. There are many different options, plus some exotic items as well. Characters included Goofy, Donald, and Mickey...the big three cant be beat ;-) The only problem we had was the check in process. It was rather chaotic and it appeared the cast members were confused. Yes we went at a peak time, during peak Easter week, but no other location had problems like Tusker. If it wasn't for this mishap, I would have ranked higher...

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Food selection
      Cons: None

We love Tusker House! We have gone in 2009, 2011 and recently in April of this year. We always make lunch reservations and this time they made the lunch a Character lunch. In the past it was only a Character Breakfast. It was great!! You don't always get a chance to see Daisy and Mickey, Minnie, Goofie, Donald and Daisey were there.

One of our favorites! Love the food choices. Mash potatoes were so good. Love everything. Missed a few characters when I was at buffet but CM made sure we saw everyone and got pictures. Fun place!

Positive aspects of the product (pros): charactors
      Cons: limited buffet

I thought I would try this restaurant after reading reviews on this site so I knew about the photo purchase and everything beforehand.

When it was our turn to have our picture with Donald we told them we where not buying the photo and asked them to please just use our camera which they did happily with no problem so if you are watching your pennies just ask. We still got a great photo for free. Smile

The staff here are great! we missed Goofy when we were at the buffet and they made sure he came around to us before we left.

We really did not enjoy the food here that much, there is better food at other buffets. The buffet was small and the selections are not that varied. I actually left here hungry. Sad If I had paid for this I would not be happy but since we used the dining plan I just grabbed a snack and continued on our way.

We have been to Disney many times so it is always nice to try something different and realize that they can not always be winners. What works for some does not work for others. Just because it did not work for us don't let that stop you for having fun trying it.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): good food and good selection

My family group of 10 all completely enjoyed our buffet dinner. The selection was really good for all palates, and the food was delicious. The decor is pretty, and our waiter was also fun and interacted well with all of us.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Food and characters
      Cons: None!

We had a yummy lunch here on January 5th, 2014. We had purchased PhotoPass+, so we received the photo that we had taken with Safari Donald delivered to our table. Donald was very personable and we really enjoyed the picture! We really enjoyed all of the food here! The salads were delicious, the salmon was really good as was the roast beef. The bread pudding with vanilla sauce and the berry cobbler were outstanding! I think that the only thing that I didn't like on the buffet were the samosas and that wasn't because they weren't tasty, just not my personal taste. The selection was outstanding! Everyone ate plenty including my 15 year old and my 7 year old. Our waiter was extremely friendly as was the woman who seated us. The characters were amazing! At a table next to us, they had a crying baby and Mickey and Daisy Duck were so attentive to the baby trying to soothe the baby, it truly was touching to see! A real Disney experience! We really enjoyed Tusker House and would not hesitate in recommending this to anyone. It's a nice little break in the day to sit down inside the nice restaurant, fill your belly and relax. One of the better buffets we all had for sure! We were a party of 6 and not one person was disappointed.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Characters, food

It’s always fun to attend character meals while at the parks. You can see multiple characters and not wait in line. There were plenty of different food choices and several kid friendly options. They were switching over from breakfast to lunch and there were still several breakfast items on the buffet – bagels, bacon, waffles and such. There seemed to be more healthy dining choices than at some of the other buffets around WDW, but a few had nuts or other allergens in the ingredients, so if you have food allergies, you might want to consult with someone before dining here. I didn’t like the cold green beans, but everything else was flavorful and tasty.
