Pros: Quantity of different food
Cons: Well.... noisy, but it was expected

You have to do this one. A little expensive but to see all those young kids so excited to see the Mickey & friends worth every penny. The food is to die for, warm and very good. I did it the 3 times I was in Disney and I plan on doing it again. Have a Disney photograph take a picture with your camera so you don't have to buy their's, you'll save $20.00.... Smile

Pros: early morning = quiet park = great pictures!
Cons: hmmmm

This is one of the better breakfasts in DisneyWorld.

The line for pictures is long before you go in (if you wanna buy it then stay in line, otherwise go straight in). The line is short on the way out and the photographers are still there and will take your picture.

The food selection is good and the waiters are fast. The characters really do hit every table and it is fun to watch the kids parade around with them.

One of our favorite places for breakfast.

Pros: food, characters
Cons: staff

We were here for a second time on 3/27. The first time was not very good...we had been held up by a bus delay and had to RUN to get there. This time was so much better--actually one of my favorite character meals!
The food is great--I like the mix of the typical and unusual. The juice is fabulous, and we were even told how to make it at home!
Only downside was that it was almost impossible to find our waitress--we waited a long time for silverware, water, then our check. But that's pretty typical. Sometimes it seems like Disney doesn't have enough servers, and they are all frantic!!

Pros: Food quality and breadth of choices
Cons:

Agree with other recent posts. Our visit was on 3/22/11. Good quality and lots of choices. They even had sticky rice which is great for breakfast. Nice atmosphere and attentive staff. Only minor complaint for visit was being stuck too close to a door; felt sorry for characters who had to squeeze through.

Pros: Fun,nice atmosphere, good food
Cons:

This was one of the best character breakfasts we've been to, especially for boys, as I find most character dining seem to be more for girls. Good, different foods, great dining atmosphere, lots of characters, lots of fun!

Pros: Daisy Duck! Characters in safari attire!
Cons: Rushed character interaction.

We ate breakfast here Dec. 27, 2010. I loved the photograph we took with Donald! I did not really like the new "frame" that the photo was in when I purchased it. I voiced my dislike to the cast member when he offered it for purchase. He told me that they had just switched to the new frame-style photo holder. He then said he would check to see if they still had any of the folder-style photo holders left. He returned with a folder-style holder and gave us both the frame style, and the folder-style! We received two sets of Donald, Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, and Goofy photos!

The food was tasty and plenty. The juice was very good (thick and sweet). It sort of had a consistency to it that's similar to Sunny Delight. We loved the Mickey waffles! My one complaint is that the characters were very rushed as they interacted with us. They only hung around a few seconds longer because we had autograph books for them to sign. I remember a cast member walking around with some of the characters, as if reminding them to keep up the hurried pace. I sort of expected this after reading other reviews and, considering it was the holidays, there were probably that many more people inside. We would eat breakfast here again, but if you want better/longer caharcter interaction, I would eat somewhere else.

Pros: Good food, characters are great
Cons:

We ate breakfast buffet here on our recent March 2011 visit and it was nice. We were seated before our reservation time which was great. The food was all good. Lots of choices to pick from. The kids loved seeing the characters. We were in sort of a back/side room and had to wait a little while to see them, but otherwise it was nice. Will eat here again for sure.

Pros: Food variety, service, characters
Cons: Donald not coming to your table.

This is one of the best character breakfasts on Disney property, only to be tied with Crystal Palace. The selection and variety of food offered simply cannot be beat, the offerings offer standard breakfast items with a few more unconventional dishes mixed in. The service here is incredible and the fact that there are characters too is icing on the cake. With all that said, the only thing I would say is a con would be the fact that you have to stand in line to take your picture with Donald Duck, as he doesn't come in and go around to the tables like the other characters, and then in order to get the picture you have to pay almost $30 for it.

Pros: Different types of foods!
Cons: A little confusing lay-out

I had high hopes for Tusker House as I hear it has different offerings from your typical lunch buffet. I'm vegetarian and also heard that there are a lot of choices for vegetarians too! There is... but note that there isn't a great "hot dish" other than the spiced tandoori tofu or children's mac/cheese (typical Disney mac/cheese which isn't that good). But there are lots of rice dishes, side veggies (green beans, potatoes), hummus, breads, and salads. It also has the most incredible corn bread! Whatever you do, do not miss out on corn bread, and this is coming from someone who doesn't like corn bread! The desserts are plentiful, I really liked the brownies and fruit selections (oranges, bananas). Quality of the food is good. Layout is a bit confusing but once you get a hang of where things are, it's manageable. There was a waiting area outside that was full and many people w/o ADR's wanting to dine, but inside wasn't as packed as it could have been (phew!). I think next time I'll skip lunch and try the breakfast but if you're looking for something different from your typical buffet, give Tusker a try. (side note, I was with omnivores - my dad isn't adventurous and didn't eat too much so I felt it was a waste of money, especially when he just ate a piece of bread with swiss cheese on it, a couple of cookies, and an orange!) My mom ate a LOT and tried everything.) The big bummer is that, typical in buffets, you tend to over eat so I did leave feeling too full - my fault though! Smile

Pros: Good variety and quality of food
Cons: Fast, disorganized character experience

My wife and our children (2 and 4) had the character breakfast here on 3/3/11. The Tusker House is one of our favorite restaurants in the WDW parks, but the character experience left much to be desired.

The breakfast is buffet style and very good. There is a good mix of both traditional Disney breakfast fare and African and Asian type cuisine. The breakfast is more varied in food type than the dinner, so those who prefer more American type food should not be deterred. You can still get your Mickey waffles, eggs, sausage, etc., but will also have a nice selection of the African and Asian type food too.

The food is not the problem, I have posted a good review of our dinner (non-character) experience under that category. The issue is with the character appearances. First, there was a 15-20 minute delay in getting our party seated. But after the delay, you have to line-up in a fairly long queue to meet Safari Donald.

Our family was hungry and decided to skip the Donald meet-and-greet. (He doesn't have the same draw as, say, Cinderella, for our little girl). But, the meet-and-greet is built into the restaurant's seating arrangement; so you still have to wait to be seated even after skipping Donald, although a for a shorter amount of time.

Once inside you are greated very hastily by Mickey, Goofy and Daisy. As other posters mentioned, you are not greeted inside by Donald, he is strictly a entrance greeter. The characters were bunched-up. Therefore, after a waiting time to meet them, they came fast and furious with extended down-time afterwards. When I say fast it is no exageration, basically: sign the kid's book, snap a picture, try to snap two and you'll only get Mickey's tail as he's walking away.

Also, the character's escorts either did not attempt, or were unsuccesful at, keeping other people away from the characters when they were at your table. We had groups of other children coming up to them when they came to our table. Part of the point of the character dining is that they come to your tables to see you. But then again, you can't blame the kids as they probably just receive no time with Mickey and gang at their own table.

We mentioned the disappointing character experience to the manager. The response was comparable to an "I am sorry if you were offended" type apology, meaning she could care less.

Overall, love the Tusker House food, but do not recommend the character dining. In the past we have eaten at Play n' Dine, Crystal Palace, and Cinderalla Castle, all of which are better options. If you really want to see Mickey, etc., at Animal Kingdom go the Camp Mickey Greeting Trails, your time is better spent there (and it's "free").

Pros: food, characters, theming
Cons: morning sickness (lol)

We ate here on March 2, 2011.

This was our second time eating here and weren't disappointed.

The buffet was fresh and hot. The selection was very nice. The characters were timed nicely, allowing for plenty of time between for eating and going back to the buffet. The march around the dining room was great fun.

My only issue here was more with the other diners and the buffet layout. The kid's buffet (shorter counter) is placed in the middle of the right-hand line. This is the natural starting side for most people, yet when they reached the kid's buffet, they were filling their plates there and ignoring the adult-height counter immediately to the left. It was mostly a matter of convenience, but still...

Bottom line: We will go back here. It's just that good.

Pros: lots of food options, meeting the characters
Cons: felt rushed, expensive

Had to line up to get picture with Donald before entering restaurant. It was cold outside, so we opted to skip that--to which we were told he would not be inside for pictures. We were OK with that, and as it turns out, as we left, no one was waiting for pictures with Donald so they let us take pictures.
The food was great and there were plenty of choices. We arrived at 8:00, but by the time we left it was filling up. Kids met Goofy, Daisy and Mickey inside and got autographs and pictures. Son and nephew got birthday cupcakes, too. Felt a little rushed. I didn't even go back for seconds. Meal was part of our dining plan, but my brother paid $80 for him, son, and mother. He said it was worth it, but one character meal was enough for all of us.

Pros: good food, great character meetings
Cons:

Had breakfast with Donald and friends on 2/14. We had an 8:10 appt. and only had a short wait. Food was great, typical breakfast fare but all delicious. Great service and saw Mickey, Pluto, Goofy Daisy and Donald.

Pros: Great Food, Get In Park Early, Characters
Cons: None

December 2010. Character greetings were great. Lots of fun pictures. 2nd time here, we schedule breakfast at 8am so we get in the park early before it opens at 9am. We get photos in the park on the way to the restaurant without crowds in the background. After breakfast, it's a very short walk to Kilmanjaro Safari. Food- all very good. I like that there is food other than the usual breakfast items. The coconut sweet potatoes are delicious. I also liked the plantains and basmatic rice. And can't go wrong with the bread pudding.

Pros: Characters
Cons:

Breakfast is far better than their lunch or dinner buffet. The characters come to the table and interact with each person and then perform as well. They had some ethnic food as well as the traditional American breakfast food items.
