This was a nice place to meet Daisy Duck. The food was good, but we like cooked to order eggs. The Tusker House does not have that option for eggs.
Service was very good. Didn't have to ask to have our drinks refilled.
Also, because we had an early breakfast reservation, we were done by the time the offical opening to the park came. Because of this, we were the first car that left on the safari!

characters seemed rushed; waited way too long past reservation time

This was our second time eating at the character breakfast, and my how things have changed since our last visit! When we checked in I knew right away there would be problems when there were 3 others at the check in booth wondering why they hadn't been sat yet and it was over 30 minutes past their reservation time. We had a 10:05 reservation and were not called until 10:45. Then we still had to wait in a line to have our picture taken with Donald, who they told us would not sign our books- to get that we would have to go wait in line at the character spot. He also no longer comes in to the restaurant at all. Once in, our waitress was pleasant and the selection of the buffet choices was good. The characters were very disappointing. Their signatures in my kids' books look like my 3 year old scribbled it herself and they seemed like they were in a big rush. We enjoyed this breakfast very much on our last stay- it is a shame to see how it has changed. We will definitely not do this one again!

First time at Tusker House and really enjoyed it! The only thing is that we waited a long time outside to get the kids picture with Donald! We were in the middle of breakfast and they came up and told us that they had camera issues and we needed to get back in line for a pic and then come back later to view them...NO WAY!! The kids saw Donald elsewhere in the park, it was ok. Loved the juice, but we felt very rushed. Would return, but would skip the Donald line.

We dined her on June 22, 2011. It was our first time at Tusker House and we weren't dissappointed. Arrived at 8:15 for an 8:30 res and glad we were early. Waited 15 min to see Donald and then to be seated. We will probably bypass him next time. Our waitress was prompt and did a good job explaining the buffet setup and character path. She let us know we had time to get food before Mickey came around.
The food was pleasing to all palates. DH and I enjoyed trying the African fare such as cheese blintzes and yam casserole. The fritatas were amazing! Standard Mickey waffles, sausage, eggs and even tater tots were available for the kids.
The restaurant was super crowded but the buffet never seemed to be. Each station was arranged so you didn't have to get in a 'line' if you wanted a specific item.
Characters didn't spend much time with us but we had a shy 4yr old who didn't interact much and an 8 mo old. I think they wanted to make sure they didn't frighten him.
Really enjoyed this breakfast!

This is the second time in 2 years we have done this breakfast (last time was June 1, 2011). The food is always delicious and the service is great. Do not make the mistake of reserving on EMH mornings like we did last year! (A TERRIBLY LONG line outside the park, plus we had to wait for the morning "preshow") This time, however the long line was outside the restaurant! I recommend getting to the park by at least 7:30 and reserving a table for 8am. Reason? you can get your breakfast, see all the characters, and PAY for your breakfast before the park opens. Send DD over to KJ Safari to get all fast passes at rope drop, Head immediately to EE after breakfast for all to ride and get fast passes for the Kali River Rapids while you are over there. That way, you've got early FPasses finshed and can come back to ride when you want!

I have dined at this character breakfast before--and have had better experiences in the past. I do recommend this breakfast, but with some reservations.
First, the positives: The food is always good, and there is a nice variety. My family enjoys both the standard breakfast items as well as the more exotic selections. This breakfast is a good chance for photo opportunities with some of the classic Disney characters: Donald, Mickey, Goofy, and Daisy. The food here is far superior to that at Chef Mickey's. The restaurant is nicely themed.
Now, the negatives: This restaurant is large, and it is loud. Between the sheer volume of people passing back and forth from their tables to the buffet area and the periodic character parades, the place is rather chaotic. This visit (June 5), my table was saddled with someone who quite possibly might be the most inattentive server I've ever seen at Disney World (and I've made over 30 trips to the World). After we were seated for several minutes, he finally came to see if we wanted anything other than juice (which is yummy here!) to drink. I ordered coffee, then went to the buffet. I had eaten nearly half of my meal (and approximately 20 minutes had elapsed) before he appeared with my coffee. It wasn't as if I could flag him down; he simply disappeared from sight after he took our order. At the end of the meal, I waited for over fifteen minutes for him to deal with the check. I don't know if he was simply burdened with too many tables or if he was just incompetent, but he really diminished our enjoyment of the only character meal we had booked this trip.
Despite the poor service this time, I would still recommend this restaurant. The food is tasty--probably the best of all the character meals (and we've tried them all over the years).

We made a special trip to AK - just to go to Tusker House for breakfast. It was hard to book a reservation this trip...fortunately an 8:35 opened up about three weeks before we went. We arrived at the park at about 8 and were able to be seated by 8:10. The food was great, as always. Our server was very attentive and was offering to take pictures at all of the tables in her section. She also made sure everyone knew how the characters rotated through the restaurant. I've eaten here on every trip since 2007 and plan to keep doing so!

Had a wonderful breakfast here on 5/29. We had an ADR before the park opened - opted to skip out of the Donald Photo op so we were seated within 5 minutes. The line to have a picture with him was CRAZY long! The service was outstanding. Never waited for a refill on coffee or the outstanding juice. Food is still excellent. Tons of choices, the usual breakfast suspects as well as some interesting and tasty African dishes - characters are great in their safari outfits - love the wake up the sun parade. A really fun place to start your day at AK.

LOVE this breakfast! It is a Disney "Must-do"! We ate here on May 20th. Our kids had such a great time! and this isn't the 1st time we have done this breakfast. The entire experience never fails to disappoint! Our waiter this time, Neil was amazzzing! Friendly, out-going, just wonderful! Daisy chose my very shy daughter to lead the conga line with her and she went with her. It may sound silly, but I had tears in my eyes. Nothing like seeing your really shy child open up! Talk about a little Disney magic! The characters took their time for pictures and autographs on the kids autograph pillowcases.
The safari juice is the best! Can't wait to go back!

We ate breakfast here on Wednesday, May 4th @ 9:00. Donald is outside for photos. You can purchase the photo if you like. Daisy, Goofy and Mickey (safari attire) are inside and spend alot of time in the room signing autographs, taking pictures and dancing with the kids. It was great! The food was excellent and you actually have a very large variety of different breakfast food! We loved the fact that the buffet was really spread out and displayed exceptionally well. Don't miss this one!

This was our first character breakfast and first time at Tusker house. We arrived for our 8:30am reservation and the park was schedule to open at 9am. We loved this breakfast. Food great. Kids loved Mickey waffles and scrambled eggs. The juice was excellent.
We took our picture with Donald but didn't buy the picture. Kind of wish you could bypass this but the kids did like seeing him. They did use my camera too. Server great.
My two complaints would be that the characters took a long time coming around and it wasn't even busy. I think sometimes the character buffets are hard because we tend to eat fast and be done in 30 mins, when actually the characters take up to 60 mins to completely make their rounds. My other complaint is that they only did their singing and dancing conga line once right when we were coming in. I don't know if they do it every hour, but it would have been nice to participate.
Hint- my husband went out at 9 am to the safari and got a fastpass so as soon as we were done eating we could get on the safari line. This worked out perfectly.

Experienced last Tuesday. This was the most fantastic character buffet we've ever been to. It felt very special, much more so than other character meals we had. Our server, Luis, was just awesome! The character interactions were generous. Conga line with Daisy was fun for the kids. Didn't feel rushed. The food was tasty and fresh. Place is spotless. Can't say enough good stuff about this breakfast!!!

My 5 year old sona and I ate here on 5-11-11 and we were so happy with the food service and all of the characters. We have been to a few character meals but this one by far was the best. We saw all the characters within ten minutes and got to eat our breakfast. The whole meal was quick which was very good!

Our party of 9 had 8:20 reservations for breakfast. No problem driving to the park to get there in time. We arrived at the park at about 7:55, got into the park by 8 and were able to get some nice Photopass photos before arriving at 8:15 to check in.
We checked in on time, and were paged to go take a picture with Donald after about 10 minutes. The line to see Donald was at least 20 minutes. Donald had to leave to fix his wardrobe at one point. There were bugs everywhere while we were waiting. This was the most frustrating aspect of the character breakfast, and since Donald doesn't even sign the autograph book, I don't think it's worth it to take the picture. Especially since the picture costs $30. I'd rather wait 20 minutes in line to see Donald in the regular park.
Once we got into the restaurant, we were glad to be seated at one table. Our server was there to take drink orders, sort of. He made a joke about drinks and then forgot to take the orders. It was strange. Everyone got the juice though, and the coffee for the adults. I get the impression that if you don't want juice or coffee, you need to be proactive. My kids wanted milk with breakfast, and we asked the server when we saw him a couple of times, but he never remembered until the end when he brought the bill! Frustrating!! We had him bring the milk just because.
The food here was good- I really liked the African type dishes. The frittatas were very good, as was the sweet potato casserole. My kids loved the Mickey Waffles and the Krispy Kremes. Everyone ate their fill!
The characters were OK. They were super rushed. Right when we got in there, the character parade started. Our server told us that we'd get to be in the next one, but it never happened, so we "missed out" on the character parade which is no big loss. We were seated rather far from the buffet so I was always worried when the kids left to get food that they'd miss a character. Daisy forgot us, but I told our server and he got her to come back to our table.
All in all, it was OK. I don't think I'm the kind of person who wants to waste touring time in the morning on a breakfast. My husband and I agree that we like the food brought to us rather than to go to a buffet line. We also agreed that on the next Disney trip we will bypass ALL the annoying "take a picture" opportunities-- except for ones where the price of the picture is included in your meal.
