This was one of the best meals and character interactions we ever had. Everyone takes a pic with Donald before you enter the buffet. The buffet was huge and plentiful. There was something for everyone. The food was so delicious. The characters came around to all the tables and took pictures and signed autograph books. Our waiter Lee was awesome and never far away with anything that we needed. This is one we will do again on our next trip.

I was not pleased. We had a great server and the food was ok, but we were there for over 90 minutes WITHOUT a single character making their way to our table, to our section of the restaurant. We will not return. And I love Donald.

Donald doesn't come inside

This was a great character breakfast! We have done Chef Mickeys many, many times and although we enjoy it, we were looking to change it up. The food was good, a huge selection, something for everyone. Characters made the rounds but you did not feel rushed. My only complaint was that it's billed as Donald's Safari Breakfast, but Donald stays outside for pictures with each guest before you go in for breakfast. My kids kept asking when Donald was coming in, so I had to explain to them that he is greeting his breakfast guests and didn't have time to come inside.

ADRs and we still waited extra time! Even though it was no longer raining outside, Donald was not out for photos with the family. What's the point of having a photographer out then? The food selection was varied, but picky kids will not find much. Characters seemed rushed and space was tight between tables. Waitress not overly-friendly. Was expecting more from here, so a tad disappointed.

My family and I "love" Tusker House for the Charater Breakfast. This, for us, is a must on all our trips to WDW. If you walk away hungry .. or can't find anything that suits your appetite, I'd be surprised. The staff is friendly, the food is excellent - always hot and yummy! Don't forget to try the "jungle juice"!! Great place for all ages!!!

The breakfast food was good. The juice they serve was delicious...mango, passionfruit, orange juice. I wasn't sure at first when they described it but really enjoyed it. Regular OJ was available to order.
They had donuts which are not typically found at the buffets and a wide selection of fruit. My daughter loved the yogurt - adding honey and brown sugar. They also found that our girls liked apples and brought us a swan carved from an apple.
My only food complaint was that the corn bread hash was overcooked.
The characters were definitely a weak point. Donald was outside posing for a picture and we were told he would not sign autographs. Very disappointing. We were seated in the room to the left as you enter. Both times during the Jambo parade we had Goofy as our leader. Mickey actually left our room to go to the other room to lead for the second parade. Also, we were told that we were the last table in the room to get the characters. Imagine my surprise to nearly miss Mickey because he started with us. It also took nearly 30 minutes before we saw our first character.
On the plus side for characters, they do have Daisy. This was a major complaint of mine a few years ago...that Daisy is an equal character in Mickey Mouse Clubhouse - the preschoolers exposure to Mickey & friends, and was no where to be found in the parks.

Our family of 5 had reservations at 10:00am on Sept. 29, 2011. We were able to get a Safari ride in before this, so the proximity to that ride was key. The buffet is above average for Disney, with the donut and danish table in the middle a favorite.
All the usual breakfast foods were in abundant supply and warm and fresh. Our timing was a bit poor as we had to wait a bit for the characters to show up, but other than that, a definite must do!

Great service as usual. One of the other waitresses came over as soon as we were seated and gave us the yummy Juice. While she was doing that our waitress came over. It was great to see team players, a lot of places are not like this. Great character interaction and the food was very yummy as usual. This is a must every trip.

Loved this restaurant. I was a little worried after reading that the wait to see Donald was very long - however we only waited for a few minutes. We saw the lady going to each table to sell the photos but she never did come to our table - perhaps we didn't stay long enough - but they used our camera to take a picture as well so we got a free picture. The food was delicious and our server was excellent. The characters came around and we got a picture with each of them. Looking forward to dining there again next year

We had a breakfast reservation at 9:30 am so we could ride the safari first. We had a minimal wait for the photo with Donald. Had them take a pic with our camera so we didn't have to purchase the photo. We waited 25+ mins past our reservation time but we went from a party of 11 to a party of 6 so that may have had something to do with the extra wait. The service was great. The juice is out of this world. So good. We couldn't get enough of it even got a cup to go. The food was wonderful, tried some of the African foods as well as the traditional American food. This will definitely be on our list of restaurants next visit.

not the best buffet ever for the price

I pity the people who pay for this out of pocket. We ate here for breakfast in August and the cost was $86 for 3 of us! Thank goodness for the deluxe dining plan. We enjoyed very much the characters and seeing how the children enjoyed it. This could almost justify the cost, but in my opinion the buffet was nothing special, different yes but not special for the price. Don't think we would do this one again but if you like characters then maybe this is for you.

Character Interaction Seemed Briefer this Year
|
|
We do a Disney Trip every year, and we keep returning to this restaurant because the breakfast food is excellent and so different than what you get at other stops. Love the many different choices here from carved meats to the bread pudding to the casseroles. Our server this time was a gem. Easy going, not intrusive but thoughtful. Character interaction was okay (the parade for the kids around the room is great) but the one on one time was minimal this year. BTW For some reason, we get the best family photos at this place.
