The food is interesting, plentiful and really good.
It has great characters that you don't have to wait in live for. The theming is great. And the servers have always been great, happy and helpful and most of all, AROUND.

We are experienced Disney visitors. However, this was our first visit to Tusker. We were very disappointed. We had ADR for 10:35. We did not get seated until 11:15. Our DD11 is all about breakfast. By the time we ordered drinks, they were already breaking down breakfast and putting out lunch. Breakfast was picked over and not refilled due to timing. Food was acceptable, but not memorable. Server was overwhelmed and had a hard time refilling drinks and picking up used plates. We had exact same time/meal at 1900 Park Fare and experience was exactly the opposite. Tusker could use their management team. My picky complaint is that the food is set up in one room and we were seated quite a ways from the buffet. I don't mind the walk, but many parents of younger children left their kids to go the buffet alone. Young children are not prepared to follow food hygience practices of a buffet. We saw a little one with their hand in the food which was not appetizing in the least. Overall, it took over 2 hours from start to finish. There are better places to eat and better ways to use a TS credit.

We, a party of 4 adults and 4 children, were very happy with the service, the food and the characters at Tusker House. This was the first character meal of our trip (June 10) and the first ever for our 9yo niece and 4yo nephew. A good first experience!
Our ADR was for 8 am and we arrived at the gate about 7:45. We got through quickly and checked in at the restaurant quickly. We had only a brief wait (less than a minute) to have the photo with Donald. However, as we were leaving at about 9:15 I noticed there were considerably more people waiting there. We were seated immediately after our photo.
Our server kept our juice glasses full and our dishes cleared away. The food was hot and fresh. If I had to search for a complaint, there were some dishes that seemed to sit empty a bit long making multiple trips to the buffet necessary. However, that was a very minor issue...so many good things to choose from. One of my favorite dishes was some sort of casserole with leeks, something I would never have had at home. Yum! I also tried a tasty sauce on the ham at the recommendation of the server. There were also plenty of healthy and not so healthy stand bys for our picky eaters...yogurt with a variety of toppings, cereal, fruit, donuts, danishes, scrambled eggs, etc.
The character interaction was good. Goofy especially was very attentive to our kids. We got several excellent photos with Mickey, Minnie, Daisy and Goofy. The photographer outside was more than happy to take the Donald photo with our own camera and it came out every bit as good as if we had purchased his. The kids enjoyed the "parade" around the room with Goofy although the tables are placed so closely it was hard to get good pictures during that. They pass out shakers and other noise makers for the parade which the kids loved!
The only real complaint I have is that the area where you enter the restaurant and have your Donald photo taken gets very congested. There does not seem to be enough room to have distinct lines for those waiting for the photo and those waiting to be seated. While it was not a problem when we arrived, when we exited the restaurant, we had to wade through a mass of people...it all seemed very unorganized.
I highly recommend breakfast at the Tusker House as long as you stick with the early ADR time.

Found out it doesn't matter if you have 8am reservations or 8:20 am reservations they will not let you in the park until almost 8am, then it was a mad dash to make it there. Once there you have to check in another line and again doesn't matter when your reservation is they let everyone in. Once you finally make it inside you sit down and the characters start coming out right away. Which means you have to scramble to get your food or you will miss one. The food was good and did have some different items that are not at other places. I would like to have been able to take my time more to eat and enjoy. The characters were great though and made sure they addressed each of my children.

We went to Disney thinking seeing characters were a plus, but not needed to enjoy the trip. We didn't think our boys (almost 3 and almost 6 would mind either). Boy were we wrong. Every day they asked to see Mickey! Finally on our last park day I decided a character meal was worth it. I got online that morning at 6am and booked breakfast at 8am at Tusker. I am so happy we did! They got to meet Donald, Daisy, Mickey, and Goofy. They hugged and had pictures with each of them. They even danced around the restaurant with Daisy.
The food was wonderful. I loved the eggs, fruit, biscuits and gravy, and Mickey waffles the most. I liked that parts of the buffett were at kid level so my 5 year old could even serve himself.
Everyone was very friendly and we all left happy. Perfect start to the day!
The only thing I can even think of to add that is negative is that I wish they would put the donald picture on the photopass to purchase. Nothing major though!
Kids ages are 1, almost3, and almost 6. Great atmosphere with great food for all!

Probably our favorite character meal of the trip! So fun! We were a bit bummed because Daisy really rushed us through - picked up our daughter out of our seat to hurry the picture, kept waving her hand hurriedly to the girls for their autograph books to hurry them up, etc. We didn't make a big deal about it because the girls were excited to meet her and the human "playing" her didn't do Daisy justice. One character almost didn't make it to our table so we asked if he could - they told us we could see him at Camp Minnie & Mickey.
Donald did indeed come in to greet us. In fact, we did not see him outside - (there was a picture but it was just our own family with some cute scenery, no character). For those sad about not getting the Donald interaction at your table, I am guessing they have listed and changed it!
We loved this meal.
Food was awesome!! The atmosphere was awesome! We'll probably do this every time we come!

This is one of my favorite breakfasts in WDW, character or not. One of the only places you can get (cheese) blintzes, and you can get perfect cooked-to-order eggs over if you ask. Plus, you can get a picture with Mickey (much better than the up-front expensive pic with Donald).

I was quite surprised actually at how much I enjoyed this character breakfast. It was just myself and my 15month old and its a buffet but I managed and the food was pretty good my daughter absolutely loved it! All the characters came over and spent a good amount of time with us. At one point we almost missed Mickey and our server made sure she came and got me from the buffet so I didnt miss him and I thought that was great. Staff was extremely helpful, even got us in 30min early, I would def. recommend!

Food just Ok, Service was Awful, Characters Really Slow

This used to be a favorite of mine, but not any longer. I was put at a table in the corner right in front of an emergency exit door. It took the server 15 minutes just to come over for a drink order. She said the characters would be arriving in 10 minutes. Another 10 for the drink to actually show up. Plates never removed. A larger table was sat next to me and was told the same thing about the characters. 45 minutes later before we even saw the first character! Another 10 minutes before the next one showed up. Still waiting for the server to come back to get my check and pay for the meal. The food was just ok, but will probably skip here going forward.

This was my favorite breakfast of the trip. We dined there 4/17/12. We had an 8:05 ADR so we got in the park early. There were things for everyone to try and all 10 of us enjoyed our selves. DDs loved the parade and the Krispy Kreme donuts! I will do this meal every trip!

We visited Tusker house the first week of Dec. 2011. While it is a bit disappointing not to meet Donald inside, we all knew in advance how this system worked, so it wasn't a big deal to us. In fact we opted out of the picture line and went ahead of people and started eating! The food is delish!! The characters were fun and we got some great pictures with them. And did I mention the food was yummy! We ate til we were stuffed since we didn't plan any other meal that day. We certainly got our money's worth! I highly recommend this restaurant!

Visited on 3/19/12. This was our first character dining experience. Overall, we really enjoyed. Please do not feel obligated to purchase photo with Donald @ the price of $30. There are plenty of other photo opps in the park-FREE! Food selection was great. Very enjoyable.

Here's my problem - I went expecting to see Donald Duck IN the restaurant. Instead, we had to wait in line to see him, and then they told us he wouldn't sign our books! Why??? Every other line for a picture with a character allows book signing. I was very disappointed about this. Then I find out the pictures are of course the kind they bring around to your table soliciting for your purchase.
Otherwise - EXCELLENT meal & fun inside.
And at the end, one other negative... they completely messed up our bill, causing us to be late for a fast pass & messing up our meal allotments (which the resort fixed)

This was a great time for my two girls ages 7 and 9. I was shocked to be able to walk up and be able to get a table on Feb Vacation. Definitely make reservations ahead of time. Expensive, about $100. for 2 adults and 2 children.
The girls met Donald Duck outside and got their pictures taken. Inside they met Minnie, Mickey, Daisy and Goofy. Characters are great.
Gluten sensitivity, we had the chef come out and he personally walked us around letting us know what was safe to eat and what to avoid. He brought out my 7 year old a massive plate of food with Mickey Mouse waffles, muffins, bagels, donuts and more. I am totally impressed in what Disney has done for the allergy and intolerance menus. Best place in the world to go for people who cannot eat anything.
Pictures with Donald cost $31.00 for the package.
