wait times, wait times and wait times. Oh did I mention the wait times?

If I could give the buses in Disney a 0 rating it would still be too high.
complained about waits to/from parks to Wilderness lodge my entire stay, but got nothing but crickets in response.
1 hour was a common wait time for a bus to/return from a park.
spent over $200 getting around in cabs the service was so bad.
Repeated complaints were met with yawns as I guess this is not the first time someone has had issues with the bus service.
Actually would have been better not to have bus service at all. At least we would have known what to expect.
Disney has lost not only my family of 6 vacation dollars, but my son's and daughter will not be bringing our future grandkids to a Disney property.
Next time we'll skip Orlando....

This was the best transportation I've experienced to date.
5/7: I took a bus to Epcot around 12:30 and it pulled up just as I got to the stop. Returning to Pop at 2pm I waited maybe 5 minutes. Coming back to Epcot once again in the evening, a five minute wait.
5/8: Monorail from TTC to MK arrived almost immediately. Going from MK to Pop Century at 5:30, the bus was waiting at the stop.
5/9: I waited 10-15 minutes for a DHS bus around 12:30. Hopping from the Studios to Animal Kingdom around 2pm I waited another 10-15 minutes. Taking the bus back to Pop around 4pm there was a 10 minute wait. Going to Downtown Disney in the evening for an early dinner I just missed the bus but another one came within 10 minutes, and returning from the PI bus stop it came within 5 minutes. I waited very briefly for a bus to MK around 8:50pm. Just before the 11pm parade, I exited the park and there was a humongous line at the bus stop. 5 buses were dispatched within 25 minutes which greatly alleviated the queue.
5/10: One bus to MK filled up right around 9:30am, but another one arrived immediately after. Monorails to and from TTC ran continuously with almost no wait. Returning to Pop at 1pm the bus arrived at the same time I did.

It is so nice to not have to worry about finding your way on property, finding a place to park, and finding your car at the end of the day. You simply hop on a Disney bus and it drops you off near the gate of the park you want to go to. Buses run about every 20 minutes so is never to long of a wait.
My only complaints is that there are only a few seats on each bus which becomes a major factor at the end of the day. When the parks close, they cram as many people as they can on the buses to the point that I worry about it being a safety hazard. Also the All Star resorts (where I was staying) share a bus line so those buses can get extra crowded.

We have been going to Disney for the past 10 years. WE travel down from up-state New York with our great family friends. We always stay on property and we are now DVC owners. The past stay 12/28/2012 - 01/06/2013 we stayed five nights at Animal Kingdom Kidani village and five days at Old Key West. The biggest problem with the bus transportation at Kidani was the length of the bus rides. This was not due to bad service but, Animal Kingdom Lodge is a long way from everything except Animal Kingdom park. We then stayed at our home resort of Old Key West and once again found the bus service outstanding. We do enjoy just getting on the bus and relaxing as we go to our hotels or other parks. We also really like the boat service we find this a nice change and it can be fun. If you go to Disney during the peak seasons your waits can be a little longer but honestly we did not wait over 20 minutes at any time. I would rather sit and relax rather and not have to fight the traffic myself.

When we first arrived, I read the sign that noted that all buses run in 20 minute cycles. So when I had to wait ten minutes for a bus, I was quite pleased that it didn't take 20 minutes, and when I had to wait 20 minutes, I understood that that is the normal bus rotation for Disney and was not put out by this. I found that the buses were starting to look a little worn, but let's face it, thousands of people crowd onto those buses everyday, how can they not look a little worn. My daughter who takes the bus from college to work everyday found that they were exceptionally clean, the bus stops were safe and she never had any fear of being assaulted.

Found it easier to take the buses rather than drive myself to the parks and back since I get lost easily on Disney property. I had 2 children with me. We stayed at Pop Century. Usually had a 15 to 20 minute wait for the bus in the morning, but no longer than that which I thought was fair.
The way back is a completely different story though. Buses were very very crowded in the evenings at the parks. Almost to the point where it was scary because there were so many people packed in like sardines, you felt claustrophobic and if the bus stopped short, people would be trampled. Several times, we had to wait for a 2nd bus because we couldn't get onto the first one, but they usually were close behind.
Several times, I witnessed people with disabilities who didn't know where to wait. They should have an area clearly marked for people with disabilities.

We stayed at POFQ 12/15-12/21. This was our 30+ trip to WDW, having stayed at numerous resorts. I have to say, the boat from POFQ is lovely, very relaxing, & runs fairly well, we waited no more than 15 minutes at anytime. Plus, the dock was just steps from our room in building #2. The buses were something else entirely. Very sporadic service. At times, we would get to the stop & bus would either be there, or only wait 5 minutes. Other times we waited upwards of 35 minutes. We never knew which buses were going just to French Quarter, and which made all the stops at Riverside (which was very time consuming, especially when you have dinner ressies). I find getting from the Boardwalk at night after having dinner back to your resort to be a total nightmare. We waited as 3 fully packed buses came & went before one that had standing room for us so we could get back to Disney Marketplace, only to wait 40 minutes for a bus going to French Quarter, after making the 4 stops at Riverside first. I really think there should be direct buses from the resorts to the Boardwalk at night, perhaps after 6pm? We actually paid for taxis on 3 occasions to go to breakfast at the Poly & dinner at the Yacht Club because we didn't want to chance the bus service.

Transportation was excellent this trip-I was truly shocked. We stayed at Wilderness Lodge and never waited more than 10 minutes coming or going to any of the parks or Downtown Disney. We had a scooter and all but two of the drivers were very friendly and helpful in loading it, though I'm sure it's just as much a hassle to them as it was to us and other guests.
12/17: Traveled to DHS around 4pm, no wait. Returned after park closing, around 9pm or so, and waited about 5 minutes.
12/18: Bussed to MK around 3:30pm, no wait. Bussed back to WL around 10:30 and again, very short wait.
12/19: Bussed to MK around 9:15, not a long wait. Monorail to Grand Floridian around 11:30, missed one monorail by seconds and waited for the next one-about 5 minutes. Returning to MK by monorail there was no wait. Took the boat to WL and got right on. Bused to AK around 3pm, two minute wait but the driver took the most circuitous route possible to the park. Going to Ft. Wilderness on return the bus pulled up as we were walking to the stop, but the driver stood outside and waited 10 minutes after we were loaded (a bit frustrating as we had a dinner ADR we were trying to make). When we arrived at Ft. Wilderness, a Yellow Route bus came within a few minutes. I think the longest we waited the whole trip was for the boat from the fort to MK-about 15 minutes maybe. Returning from MK to WL by bus around 11:30pm we waited about 5 minutes.
12/20: Bussed to Epcot around 10:15am, no wait. Just missed the bus returning to WL around 2pm due to a dead scooter-we couldn't push it fast enough to catch the bus, but another came within 10 minutes. Took the bus from Ft. Wilderness to WL around 5pm, 2 minute wait. No wait for a bus to Epcot returning to park around 6pm. 2 minute wait going back to resort around 10:20pm, and all three scooters and most guests waiting were able to board.
12/21: The real shocker were the efficiency of the Downtown Disney buses, which are generally unreliable at any resort. But not here! One arrived to take us to DTD almost immediately around 11am, and coming back to the resort around 2pm, we only waited about 5-10 minutes!
My only minor complaint is that WL shares its buses. For all the theme parks, it stops at WL and then the fort, and for DTD, it also shares with the Grand Floridian. I didn't think this was much of a problem because no bus was ever overcrowded, but it did add a bit of time on to the trips.

My family of 9 just returned from our December 9-16, 2012 vacation and while my family were frequent visitors when we lived in Florida, we hadn't been back for nearly 5 years.
I remembered the bus/monorail/boat system as being fast and efficient, but this time, there was something definitely wrong. The buses were really random...sometimes there was one bus after another coming to pick you up for the same park and other times, there was a 45 minute wait for another. In the evenings, especially at Downtown Disney, we waited an hour and watched one bus after another drive by with a sign that said they were done for the day. When a bus would finally come, there were so many people waiting that were were crammed in like sardines.

Went over to the Art of Animation and Pop Century - didn't stay there but wanted to see new resort. Long lines for HS at both AofA and PC - and everyone had a small child - saw one lady really yelling at her child - these long lines are unacceptable. Disney - get with it - this is serious issue. The monorail had an issue and near empty buses were ferrying people from the TTC to EPCOT. Any efficient operation would have monitored the situation at these 2 Value resorts -can the price paid at the value resorts also relate to the transportation availability? I hope not! There should be no overcrowded buses on December 5th.

I stayed at Pop and never in all these years seen the buses come so far apart. When there was alot of people in line in the morning it would take forever for another bus to come. I know it was because they didn't have enough buses to accommodate the crowds. There was times we waited over 45 minutes for a bus because one would fill up and pull out and waited another 20 min for another one to fill up and pull out. At night they ran just like previous years because they had enough on.

Monorails and boats are A+. Buses are the drawback. We've decided in future to stay on monorail/boat resorts and use buses as little as possible or not at all if we have a vehicle with us. Without regards to the time waiting/traveling - we really have a problem with the safety issue. You are herded in like cattle and no one cares if the people standing might get hurt. Especially if they are holding little ones or are of the seasoned age set. I offer my chair often. My adult son and hubby always stand and give seats to others. Wish more would do the same. It's just dangerous. It's an accident waiting to happen. Add on more buses and let people sit only and not stand. It can be done and would be so much safer. Not to mention it's hard on the body to stand and hold on through those trips.

Monorail* best form of transportation at WDW in my opinion, pretty speedy, usually a place to sit down, usually cool, more comfortable experience, and unique.
Boats* Scenic, but very slow moving, nice experience to see things you might not by bus or monorail.
Buses* depending where/what resort you are staying at, you may have quite a walk to the bus stop itself. The buses with All Stars Resorts all 3 share the same buses. So by the time it comes to your resort, it may be pretty full,(standing room only)there and back. It's also quite a hike to the bust stops to and from the parks themselves, which you just get use too and forget with all the other walking anyway! If you're lucky, you may get a couple great bus drivers who do Disney Trivia on your way to and from!!!
