Pros: Location, lovely rooms
Cons: small beach area, long Magic Express ride

Just returned from a wonderful stay at the Yacht Club in early June. Our stay was perfect from start to finish.

We arrived around 11am and were greeted before we even walked in by an attendant who took our name, retrieved our reservation, and walked us to the front desk to have our check in completed. Our room was not ready yet, but we opted to receive a text when it was ready, and left our bags with Bell Services while we walked over to Epcot for lunch.

The walk to Epcot is such a convenience! And the first surprise: We had barely entered the park when my phone buzzed and we learned our room was ready. That was quick!

We enjoyed the park for a few hours, and went to our room. The text we received contained our room number, and our Key to the World cards immediately unlocked the room door - no extra trip to the front desk needed. The next big surprise: Our standard view room had been upgraded to a water view! Our balcony overlooked the boardwalk and water.

The room had the standard Disney setup: Two queen beds, closet, dresser, and dual sinks that were separate from the tub/toilet. The decor was very crisp and white, with subtle nautical elements. I adored it! I can see how it might not be kid-friendly, but for two adults it felt very chic.

Everyone at the hotel was friendly and helpful, from the Concierge, who helped us locate umbrellas when the store had closed, to Bell Services, who brought our luggage to our room within 10 minutes of us calling for it.

The pool area was very lively and popular - we opted to recline with cocktails on the beach. I wish more resorts had actual sandy beaches. This beach was small, but quiet and just right. Plus, at night you can see some of the Illumninations fireworks from it.

The only downside we experienced was in our trips to from and to the airport. We were the last Magic Express stop coming from the airport, which made the bus ride approximately one hour with all the stopping and unloading for other resorts. We were the first stop to MCO, and while we arrived with plenty of time to catch the plane, it was still a bit tedious to stop at three other hotels first.

Other Disney transportation was excellent, however. The boat to Hollywood Studios is gentle and scenic, and the bus to Magic Kingdom moved quickly.

We will absolutely stay at the Yacht Club again. For adults, this is a wonderful resort with lovely rooms and a sophisticated yet still Disney feel.

Pros: location
Cons: not many

Stayed 2 nights June 1-3. Small issue at check-in. Clerk appeared to not be able to find my reservation, but it was quickly resolved. We were in the 5th floor Regatta Club. I was not told at check-in that I would need to swipe my room key in elevator to reach 5th floor. I looked like an idiot for a few seconds before I figured out why the elevator would not go to 5th floor. That is it for the cons.

Our room was ready when we checked-in around 12:45 pm. This resort is located at the perfect spot in my opinion. 5-7 min walk to Epcot and 15-20 min walk to HS. The interior of the resort looks new and fresh. The Beach Club shares space, but the Yacht Club is a definite level above Beach Club. The rooms are very clean and we had no problems with room. The pool is the best in Disney. Entry is strictly controlled and the cast members are super-friendly. The pool area is actually 3 different pools, but it is blended to make it look like one big pool. Having a refill drink mug station at pool is a step above what the Boardwalk offers. I have stayed at Boardwalk twice and was a big fan. Yacht and Beach Club blow the Boardwalk away in my opinion. If all cost the same I would pick Yacht Club first every time.

Pros: Location
Cons: quick service limitations

Did not live up to my expectations.

Upon arrival first room (2087) had an odd smell to it. My wife refused to go into the room. On way back to lobby to switch rooms, meet a mousekeeping staff. She came into room and confirmed the smell was not any of the chemicals/disinfectants they used.

Check in staff was quite cranky about changing us to another room and made comments about none being available. Did end up making the change without having to escalate.

Room noise was tolerable but noticable, except quite loud on balcony. As rooms share common balcony divided by a partion, the noise travels very easily and we were next to a young child who loved to talk to herself.

Quick service options limited requiring a hike to get Beach Club.

For the $'s I would choose the Magic Kingdom hotels (GF or Poly).

Pros: Quiet even during busy times
Cons: wish we could stay longer

My daughter and i just returned from a fantastic stay at the Yacht Club. The staff was amazing, especially Betty in the Regatta Club and Chef Matthew at the Captains Grill. We had a standard view room which meant it looked at nothing but it was quiet and the beds are comfortable. We will definitely return to this property.

Pros: Location, service, location
Cons: Price

Stayed here 3/9-3/14 for the third time. Since it was a last minute booking, we had to go with a pool / lagoon view. BUT, was it worth it!!!!!! We had a 2nd floor room, nearest the lagoon. It was a bit of a walk from the lobby, but there was a staircase outside that shortened the walk greatly. The view from the balcony was AWESOME!!! We could see 90% of the Boardwalk, and the Eiffel Tower in EPCOT. The service was perfect as always. It's not as kid friendly, but that's fine by us. The pool is still the best. The short walk to EPCOT and the boat to Hollywood Studios makes the location great. The only downside is we don't want to stay anywhere else..

Pros: Close to Epcot and Boardwalk
Cons: Small Bathroom

We stayed at the Yacht Club from 1/29 to 2/2. We had a standard room but it had a great balcony and we enjoyed our mornings relaxing as we watched the world wake up. Mousekeeping was fantastic, and we always returned to a clean room with lots of towels and toiletries. Because we were celebrating our anniversary, we received some candy and a card from the staff, and a beautiful towel design from housekeeping. The staff was always friendly and helpful, ready to welcome us home whenever we returned from touring. The only negative was the size of the bathroom. The door hit the toilet seat so entering and exiting was a bit of an adventure. Otherwise, I would definitely return here if I could. Nice relaxing atmosphere and superb service.

Pros: Amazing staff and wonderful location
Cons:

We stayed here in October in a water view room. Our room was far from the main lobby, (unless you cut around outside) but had a lovely water view. The cast members at the hotel were amazing and always made me feel welcome, they were also extremely competent. Check-in was super fast and easy unlike at the Poly and Bay Lake Tower, where we stayed last year. I loved being able to walk to Epcot and to the Studios. This is now our favorite hotel in WDW.

Pros: Location,size of room,friendly staff,storm along bay
Cons: No QS

We just got back from a week long trip to WDW. The YC is a beautiful resort. This is our second time staying here.

We were selected as the family of the day and upgraded to concierge level on the 5th floor. This is why we think Disney is such a magical place. The food and service on this floor is tremendous. If you can afford it I would highly recommend staying on this level.

The location to Epcot is great and is also only a short boat ride to HS. We loved not having to fight the crowds after watching illuminations and just walking back to our resort. We walked over to the BC and listened to carolers while looking at the Christmas displays.

This resort is great for couples or families. We are a family of 5 and enjoyed the pool a couple times and the Captains Grille. The grounds are beautiful as is the resort. Every CM we encountered was very helpful. We are already booking our trip to here next year.

Pros: Theme, Location, Rooms, Bus Service, Balcony/Patio
Cons: Quick Service, Some Staff, Touch Ups Needed

We spent a week at Yacht Club in Nov 2012. The resort is very pretty, we liked our room even though it was on the other end of the earth- practically at the Dolphin, the bus service was great, the location is great for Epcot area fans, and we would have loved Stormalong had it not been so chilly. Also, unlike Beach Club, you'll almost definitely get a patio or balcony at Yacht Club...which is the #1 reason why we picked it over Beach.

Our issues...
1) Quick Service- I was hoping it wouldn't be a major issue since we don't do QS that much, but even with our minimal use- it was an issue. I'm glad I brought back up snacks for the kids b/c there were just no good options at Yacht for a good quick bite or snack before catching an early morning bus. And while Ale & Compass would fill our refillable mugs before noon, the staff working the morning shift was super cranky.
2) Staff- While there were a couple of staff members we encountered at Yacht that were super nice and had that standard Disney enthusiasm, most were between cold and cranky. The guy who checked us in was very efficient, but highly robotic and abrupt in his approach. The woman at Bell Services seems bothered to help us, or pretty much anyone for that matter. And while our Mousekeeper was nice, most seemed ticked off to have to be there. What's sad, some of the nicest people we met who were working at Yacht were there to repaint portions of our wing.
3)Many areas could use some refurb. work. While it was good to see the halls getting painted, there were many sections of wallpaper and carpeting that were a mess. There were so many bleach marks in one section that even a kid we passed stopped to see if it was something on the ground or part of the carpet.

All in all, it's still a nice place to stay...it's great being able to walk to Epcot and get the boat to DHS...plus it's fun being able to walk around and check out all of the Epcot area resorts. If I were to stay in the Epcot area again, it would be a toss up over Beach Club (much MUCH nicer staff and far better QS options) and Boardwalk (like the decor the best of the 3). What we learned on this trip is that we prefer to stay near MK. That's not the fault of Yacht Club, but now we know. I'd still recommend Yacht Club though ... while not perfect, there are enough positives to make it a nice place to stay.

Pros: VERY NICE RESORT
Cons: NOT A THING

We stayed at this resort from 10/25 to 10/28/12. This was our first time staying here, we usually stay at the Grand Floridian Resort, but we decided to go somewhere...We usually go to this resort for Dinner at the Yachtsman Steakhouse (amazing food)..We were very surprised, the resort was very nice...calming effect on you..and walking over to Epcot was awesome...going over to the Beach Club Resort was also very nice...and the pool...OH MY GOD...BEAUTIFUL...The rooms were really nice..and big...great Mousekeeping...ANOTHER WONDERFUL RESORT..

Pros: Location, the pool and the castmembers
Cons: Rooms could use some updating

We stayed here 5 nights from 10/14-10/19/12. The rooms did need a little updating, but were still nicer than the Polynesian, where we had a really outdated room with terribly lighting. Hands down the best thing about the Yacht and the reason I would definitely go back though are the cast members who work there. More than any other resort we've stayed in recently at WDW, the cast members at the Yacht Club made us feel like we were being pampered. Everyone was super nice and helpful and made us feel as if we were super important. My mother had issues with the coffee pot and Mousekeeping was just amazing and even ran out to Walmart to get her an extension cord. Check-in took minutes instead of the 30-45 minutes it took at the Contemporary and Poly in 12/11. They also didn't screw up our bills or my room key, which was definitely appreciated after the Poly and Contemporary. We loved the pool. It was open 10-10 while we were there and we spent time there one evening post the parks and it was heaven. We loved how close the hotel was to Epcot and I walked to the Studios as well (and I am plump and out of shape!) We liked the Captain's Grille a lot, the breakfast buffet was delicious. I'm excited to go back in the future!

Pros: Pool and location
Cons: food options

We stayed at the Yacht Club for 2 nights after 8 nights at Art of Animation. We wanted to relax our last two days and enjoy the fabulous pool and location. I read on allears that Hurricane Hanna's was closing. I called the resort directly, twice, and was assured it was open and not scheduled to close. Of course, I should have listed to allears and not the resort because they were closed. We had no where to get something quick and easy to eat while relaxing pool side. We stood in line almost an hour to get a turkey sandwich one day and the next day we got nasty hamburgers from chafing dishes they set up in the arcade. Getting mugs refilled was even more of a nightmare! Had Yacht Club given me the correct information, I would have switched hotels. Had Hurricane Hanna's been open, our entire stay would have been completely different. The resort is beautiful, the landscaping, views, etc. are wonderful. The pool was just fantastic. We enjoyed sitting on our patio and watching the sites. But the rooms need updating and shouldn't be considered delux. The toilet seat was hanging off, rusted sink drains and just the general decor wasn't very nice. I was aware that food options here were limited but with Hurricane Hanna's closed it was pretty much non-existent. Also, Yachtsman was closed, but in any case, their pool is their main attraction. You should be able to get something to eat and drink easily while relaxing poolside. An hour for a sandwich or a nasty burger for the price of the room really isn't justified.

Pros: views
Cons: older room, inadequate food options

We just returned from 2 nights at the Yacht Club after spending 7 nights at Art of Animation. We heard wonderful things about Storm Along Bay and wanted some down time relaxing by the pool. We heard quick service food options are minimal but Hurricane Hanna's would be fine for relaxing pool-side. I read something on allears about Hurricane Hanna's closing for renovations. I contacted Yacht Club directly twice prior to leaving and was assured it was not closed nor scheduled to close. Unfortunately, upon arrival, it was closed. Who would think allears would know more than the resort directly?? We stood in line at the Market Place in wet bathing suits for almost an hour for a turkey sandwich. The next day our only other option was burgers they set up in the arcade - cold, rubbery, tasteless burgers in chafing dishes. Far cry from delux and extremely disappointing. The property was lovely with beautiful views and it was relaxing in the evenings. Very easy walk to Epcot and quick boat ride to Hollywood Studios. The rooms are showing lots of wear and tear. Our toilet seat was disgusting and falling off. The decor wasn't very pleasant either. We spent most of our time on the patio or just relaxing on the beach instead of in the room. The pool, property and location are wonderful. Rooms need improvement and the dining options are non-existent for a relaxing pool day. We did not want to get dressed and go to a sit-down meal during the day and I'm sure most people would agree that convenience is a major factor when you want to relax by the pool.

Pros: Location,Pool
Cons: Dining locations closed

We just returned from a 10 night stay at the Yacht Club. We checked in at 2:30 pm and our room was ready and waiting. Service at the resort was wonderful, cast members all friendly and ready to assist when needed. The only negatives were that many venues were closed upon or within a day or two of our arrival. They were the Yachtsman, Hurricane Hanna's, Spa, Healthclub and Salon. We were able to dine at the Yachtsman our first night and enjoyed a fabulous meal along with outstanding service. We were on the Deluxe Dining Plan and therefore had the refillable mugs. The best place to get the mugs filled in the afternoon was the Marketplace at the Beach Club as Beaches and Cream was very busy in the afternoon hours and was the only other option to fill the mugs at that time. A minor inconvenience but one just the same.

Pros: pool, a few things closed
Cons: took too long to get room ready

This is a beautiful hotel within walking distance of Epcot (for everyone without blisters or heat exhaustion, which was me for the first day only, LOL), and MGM (for the physically fit). The pool area makes it unique and arguably the best resort. There is a waterpark-quality water slide, a very slow lazy river, and a faster whirlpool. All the pools are partially sand-bottomed, making it feel nice on the feet. The concierge service is excellent. For a few dollars more, you get a free continental breakfast, cocktail hour, dessert hour, and a convenient "living room" to hang out in if someone in your party needs some space.

There were only a couple of minor problems. The spa was closed, and there was no place to change for the pool if your room wasn't ready. Ours was not ready until about 5:00PM. We originally had to change rooms because we did not get the type of room we requested. However, this small clerical error did not detract from a wonderful trip at an excellent hotel.
