This is the second time we have rented through All Star. We have had excellent customer service and attention to detail. Once you have a reservation, you receive detailed information by email that answers just about any question you have. The staff makes a pre-visit phone call about 3-4 days before you arrive to personally answer any other questions. Most recently, our family (4 adults and 4 children ages 9, 9, 6, and 4)stayed in a 4 bedroom house with pool in Windsor Palms.
I like that All Star has a variety of properties to choose from and we were able to find one that met all of our requirements...Disney decor in the children's rooms, 2 master suites with King beds, gas grill, pool. The home you see when you view online is the exact home you will see when you arrive.
Windsor Palms is close to Disney so leaving the parks for the afternoon is very easy. We were able to open the parks each morning and return to our house around 1 pm then back in the parks by 5 or 6 without losing much time in transportation.
Additionally, we enjoy preparing most of our own meals for our family on vacation. Doing so saves an incredible amount in food costs over eating in the parks. Overall, for 8 people, we were able to save OVER HALF what we would have spent staying in a deluxe on property resort and eating out every meal. That includes the extra cost of renting a car and parking, as well. Add in the fact that in our home we had loads more space and were able to actually relax (a necessity for my little guy who easily gets sensory overload).
I highly recommend staying in an All Star home!

Spent 9 days in a 6 bedroom house in Windsor Hills development. House was "only" a 3 star, but it exceeded my expectations as a first time renter at WDW. We were only like 2 miles from Animal Kingdom. To and from the parks by car was minutes each day!!!
I've easily had 20+ trips to WDW before this and always stayed on property. This time I split a house rental with a family member. For $3000, we had this huge house for 9 days and splitting this cost with someone else, this cost was less than staying at a moderate level hotel at WDW.
Early check in is not available unless you pay extra. Even though I arrived before my 4pm checkin, we were able to get gate passes and hang out at the clubhouse and pool area. But quite frankly, we were lied to and told that the house wasn't ready because they were "fixing the dryer and needed every minute up to 4pm to get it done". We parked in front of the house at 3pm and nobody was there! I called at 4pm to get the door code and they told me "I must have just missed the repairman!". It seems to me they want you to pay the extra $150 for early arrival rather than give it to you regardless if the house was ready, IMHO.
House was great and spacious. Great to have just my BEDROOM bigger than what I would have for an entire hotel room at WDW! A full master bath for most of the bedrooms. Kids rooms were themed and they loved it. Game room had an 80's style arcade game that had like 30 vintage games you could choose from. Pool was nice and hot tub was great to come back to after a hard day marching through the parks. Being able to cook breakfast each morning saved big $$$$$$$$.
House was quiet and no noise from neighbors, etc. It was in a gated community. It was nice to be able to look out the window and see your car right there.
My only real complaints: the hassle of early check in; the big screen TV in the family room was a standard definition TV with a cable box that took 30 seconds to do anything when you pushed a button. Who has a huge big screen in a new house that isn't HD? This was disappointing in terms of quality of the picture; The house could have been cleaned better. We found hair balls behind basically every door and the bathtub had some black hairs. We are blonde and we never even used the tub, so it wasn't ours!
One major problem was that the rear gutters were overflowing and splashing on the concrete VERY LOUDLY. To the point we couldn't sleep. We had to clean out the gutter that morning so we could sleep during the rain storm. I could have called maintenance, but quite frankly, we just wanted it fixed then and wonder why nobody noticed they were full of junk before?
From a cost and value standpoint, I don't think it could be beat. I miss WDW ambiance when staying on property, but the value of All Stars trumps any misgivings I might have had! Can't wait to do again.

We stayed at Reunion Resort. Condo 4-7615 #201. October 16-21,2010. It's exactly as shown in the pictures. Plenty of room. More tv's than you can watch. Having a full kitchen came in handy for meals at least once a day. Grocery store, liquor store,(2)pizza,(2)Chinese restaurants, gas station and a drug store all directly across the street. We did not do any golfing but the course was a few feet from our back door. A short drive to Disney. I highly recommend it. The whole All Star experience was wonderful.
