Pros: nice theme and decorations
Cons: too much money

We went on 10/25 an had a nice time. The parade was great as well as the fireworks. But I think for my 2 and 4 year old, it wasn't worth the money. The line for candy was often long or a far walk thru the line. Plus, it started too late in the day for them. It would have been nicer to have more events earlier in the day. I am not sure if I would attend this again, maybe when they are bigger.

Pros: It's Halloween at Disney!
Cons: Can't do everything!

I was so excited about the MNSSHP! I love holidays at Disney and this was no exception. We trick or treated, had a free facepainting, saw the awesome parade, saw the wicked stepsisters, the fireworks, and enjoyed some rides. The only downer was that we couldn't see the shows or the dances, didn't ride all the rides we wanted, didn't see the characters we wanted to see. It wasn't very crowded, but there was just not enough time! I really want to do it again and hope I can someday!

Pros: Great Parade and fireworks
Cons:

We went twice to MNSSHP in 2009. First on 9/11 and then on 10/25. Each party was different, with the one in October being better in our opinion. Theming is great and the parade is wonderful. The grave diggers and ghostly dancers from the Haunted Mansion were a sight to be seen. The party can be pricey, but was worth the cost. Trick or treating is okay, but we found it to be better for smaller children. Loved the villain meet and greet. The Queen of Hearts had it out for me.

Pros: Fireworks, decorations, parade, atmosphere
Cons: Large crowds

First time for MNSSHP so I didn't know what to expect. Attended the night of 10-23. Fall is my favorite time of year (it is also my birthday!) We chose not to dress up, although it was nice to see everyone's costumes. LOVED LOVED LOVED the fireworks as well as the parade! The headless horseman was fantastic! Even though there were a TON of people there (some without there admission bracelets), lines for candy were managable. Lines for rides were nonexistant, we walked on to pretty much all the rides! Well worth the price of admission! Loved the fireworks, parade and decorations!

Pros: PARADE!, decorations, and dressing up
Cons: Some what long lines for candy

I love this party and can not wait to attend again. Being 6 months pregnant put a damper on things, but we stayed the whole time and dressed the part as well. The parade is just great and I loved the undertakers with their shovels. Completely worth the extra admission. We watched the fireworks another night from our room at the Grand Floridian and enjoyed them even more. Loved it!

Pros: Fun Fun Fun
Cons:

Attended the party 10/15/09. We had a great time. Park was a little crowded but nothing like daytime. This is the 8th yr in a row we have attended and it is always fun. The fireworks and the parade are the best. We love the Headless Horseman. Candy lines weren't too long and we didn't wait very long for rides. My daughter was able to have pictures taken with characters that we hadn't seen before. Love the way so many people both young and old get into the "spirit" of the party by dressing up.

Pros: short lines for rides, tons of people in really cool costumes
Cons: long lines for candy

My mom and I attended our first MNSSHP on Oct 6, we had a blast. The lines for the rides were short, the lines for characters and candy were long. We didn't get too much candy except for if we walked by a short line.

Loved the decorations and the feel of the Haunted Mansion. We caught the first parade, we enjoyed it, especially right before, the headless horseman.

We did manage to get our pic in front of Cinderella's coach with a minimal wait. Take advantage of the Halloween Photopass on that night, you'll get 40% off your pics from that night.

Didn't get to see the Villians show. Make sure you are on the front side of the castle during Hallowishes, we were on the backside and kept having to turn around in different directions to see the fireworks.

I enjoyed seeing all the party goers dressed up, some costumes were great.

We will definitely attended the party when we go in the fall again.

Pros: great atmosphere, smaller crowds, fireworks
Cons:

DM and I went to the party for the first time on our girls vacation. Absolutely loved it! We went to the 9/11 party and it was not crowded at all!

The decorations were awesome starting with the misty fog in front of the train station to the scarecrows on Main Street to the decorations in Mickey and Minnie's houses in Toontown.

We had been in the parks all day so our focus was not on the rides, but we did save two for the party - Splash Mountain (to see all the festivities from up high) and Haunted Mansion (for obvious reasons). We were able to walk right on both and were even offered a second go-around on Splash Mountain.

It was also fun to see all the characters dressed up in their costumes, Pooh and friends were adorable! Cinderella's coach was also awesome!

The fireworks were the best part of the evening. They were definitely the best fireworks I've seen - when they went up around the whole park the crowd went crazy!

Pros: Parade & Fireworks
Cons: Too much to do and too little time

We attended the 10/6/09 party. Arrived about 8 as we were delayed at 1900 Park Fare dinner. We got to stop at all the treat stops and got tons of candy. Mostly smarties, Now-n-Laters and Laffy Taffy. Not much chocolate but it was a HOT night. The fireworks were spectacular and we saw the 2nd parade in Frontierland. Headless Horseman was really cool! Rode BTMRR and HM as walk ons. Did the special photopass stops near the HM. Did not have time to do any character visits or see the Villan's Show. Just wish we had about 3 more hours and it would have been perfect!

Pros: Wonderful, Beautiful, Great Place To Spend Halloween.
Cons: NONE

WE JUST RETURNED 9/17 - 9/27. WE WENT WITH OUR WHOLE FAMILY FIRST (9 ADULTS & 1 1YEAR OLD). IT WAS WONDERFUL. NOT SO CROWDED, NEVER WAITED ON LINE (THE MOST WAS 5 MINUTES). THE HAUNTED MANSION WAS WONDERFUL, SCARY, BUT NOT TO SCARY. MOSTLY EVERYONE IN COSTUME (WE WERE AND ANGEL, INDIANA JONES, TINKER BELL (BABY) MINNIE MOUSE, GOOFY, AND A WITCH)EVERYTHING WAS DECORATED BEAUTIFULLY, BIG HALLOWEEN BALLONS, DISNEY EMPLOYEES ALSO DRESSED UP. AND THE PARADE WAS AWESOME. THE HEADLESS HORSEMAN WAS FANTASTIC. WHAT A WONDERFUL PLACE TO TAKE YOUR CHILDREN FOR HALLOWEEN. THANK YOU DISNEY FOR (MICKEY NOT SO SCARY HALLOWEEN PARTY)....

Pros: Quick ride access, guest costumes, parade, fireworks
Cons: candy

We have attended the MNSSHP almost every year since 2003. It is always so much fun to interact with the other guests, some of whom have amazing costumes. This year we went on Tuesday, Oct. 6th. We entered Magic Kingdom around 4:30 and had a nice dinner at the plaza. We started going on rides soon after dinner and walked on almost every attraction. The only wait was for Dumbo, but only for about 10 mins. We saw the Halloween fireworks and they were fantastic as usual. We skipped the early parade and planned on the second, but since we had spent the morning in Animal Kingdom on a extremely hot day, my five year old wanted to leave early. The only negatives where that the strollers are no longer free and the quality of the candy has gone way down. We did about six candy stops and after my 8 year looked in his bag and didn't see any name brand candy or chocolate he wanted to stop trick or treating. I don't know if they were not handing out chocolate because of the heat, it was still very warm that nite. Overall , the party is still worth the cost.

Pros: Boo To You Parade
Cons: overly crowded

We attended the Halloween Party on Thurs. Oct. 1st. We purposely chose a party during the week and not close to Halloween to hopefully avoid crowds. It ended up being a disaster.

The party was so unbelievably packed. The Magic Kingdom was pretty much as crowded as it is during day time hours. We were given a list of the night's festivities and were only able to do about half the things available due to the long lines. And we did not ride any rides, did not stop to eat, and we were there for the entire allotted time- 7pm to midnight.

The lines to meet the characters were crazy long. We waited 45 minutes to meet Snow White and all 7 dwarfs, 30 minutes to meet Minnie, and 45 to meet Jessie, Bullseye and Woody.

The best and really only good part of the evening was the Boo To You Parade. Awesome floats and dancers!

On the guide it says Hallowishes can be viewed from anywhere in the park. This is untrue. The fireworks were happening while we were in line to meet Snow White. We had a perfect view of the castle but the fireworks are actually shot off from a grassy area in the very back of Fantasyland. Our view was blocked by trees.

The staff at the parties was also extremely unhelpful. They could not answer my simple questions such as where I could find certain characters. We spent more time criss crossing the park and waiting in line than actually enjoying the party.

The only way we would ever attend another Magic Kingdom party is if less tickets are sold. If you have tickets already, my suggestion to you is to choose 2 or 3 things you really want to do. I guarantee you it is impossible to do everything that is offered. Which is sad considering you have to pay extra for the event.

Pros: Atmosphere and Parade
Cons: not enough time to do it all

Our Grand Gathering had so much fun on 10-6-09 that we wished we had bought tickets to go twice during our vacation. NO LINES!!! The fireworks, parade, and shows were top notch. If I had it all to do again I would ride rides until the fireworks, watch the fireworks, and catch the second parade. As soon as the parade is over head to Toon town for free face painting. Hit Alice's trick or treat trail...as soon as you walk out of the treat trail hit Stitch's dance party...we got some great pics with Chip, Dale, Goofy, and Stitch all in their Halloween costumes. Save the trick or treating for last....who wants to lug around a bag of candy all night??? I would get a long nap or a good days rest before this party....IT WILL WEAR YOU OUT!!!! You can get into the park at 4pm on this day with your party ticket. We hit Splash Mountain and Big Thunder during the first parade and went back to back on both!!! Much better than the Christmas party.

Pros: Unique Halloween party
Cons: none

This was our 4th party (Oct 9th) and the best one yet. The crowds were light and rode most rides multiple times. The character lines were a bit long but not too bad. I was surprised at the light crowds since it was almost mid October. Usually we attend in Sept and it's packed. We went on Thunder mountain and the cm's had us stay seated for another ride. The longest we waited was for the race cars, about 10 minutes. The parade and fireworks were great. The Headless Horseman was worth every penny of admission. The castmembers must have had an extra dose of pixie dust because they were all smiling and handing out handfulls of candy. I was apprehensive about attending this year because Disney raised the prices but i'm glad we did. It truly was fun.

Pros: fun to see everyone dressed up
Cons: not as good as 2008's party

We went to the party on 10.2.09. I went last year and enjoyed it more. The lines were much longer this year and the candy was not as good--cheap generic candy with hardly any chocolate. The Haunted Mansion and Thunder Mountain were closed most of the night.
It was still fun but it was better in 08. Make sure you don't get to the park too early. The party doesn't start until 7. Getting there at noon will make for a long day.
