Pros: decorations around the park, special shows, few crowds
Cons: None!

I loved attending MVMCP. I plan to return to the park for the holidays and Christmas party as much as I can in the future.
I was a little unsure about only entering the park starting at 4 PM, but there's much fewer people than normal and I still got to do all the rides and attractions that I wanted to. I actually got off the Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin only to get right back on with no line- three times in a row. (What can I say, I love that ride.)
The park is absolutely beatiful all done up for Christmas, both during the day and at night with the lights. The cocoa and cookies are a nice touch.
The best part is obviously all the special shows and parades - this year they did a wonderful show projected against the castle, followed by fireworks which were amazing. The parade down Main Street was fun, with all the floats and characters dressed up for the holidays. They even make it "snow" with a type of foam. I can't wait to go back!

Pros: MK open late! Fireworks, parade and dance parties!
Cons: it's florida so it might still be hot and or sticky out

We attended the Christmas party 12/11/12. It was still sticky out and my hubby thought we were all crazy for drinking hot cocoa but we loved it anyhow! We didn't go to a park earlier in the day but stayed "home" at Bay Lake Tower. Then arrived at 4 pm for the party. Started things right with a trip around on the railroad. We went on the newly redone Dumbo rides. Space Mtn and other attractions in Tomorrowland. We ate dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern, a favorite of my family's. Saw the parade, dance party and fireworks and then off to Adventureland. We went on Pirates multiple times ( my boys love it) Magic Carpet at least 3 times in a row! Wonderful time & great memories! Oh and we got some very nice pics of the kids with photopass.

Pros: Short wait time for rides
Cons: Long lines for cookies and hot chocolate

We always enjoy attending the MVMCP, however the lines for the hot chocolate and cookies were way too long to wait in. It was very crowded but cast members did a great job ensuring everyone in the park had a wristband. There were several checkpoints and every ride had a cast member checking for the wristband. The parade was awesome and so was the snow on Main Street. Most of the rides had a short wait time since most folks were waiting for the parade. The new castle show is amazing and not to be missed along with the fireworks.

Pros:
Cons:

I am a cast member at WDW for 18 years, and decided to try out MVMCP for the first time on December 2nd. I was glad for the reviews from others, and wanted to share mine - just a few observations:

1) Very annoying that nobody was checking the "wristbands" which accounted for the "wall to wall" overcrowd-kill so to speak. This is rather unfair being that people pay a lot of money for six hours in the park for the Party.

I personally feel that day ticketholders absolutely need to be out of the park by 5pm to enable the hard-ticket event ticketholders to enjoy the exclusive event.

2) The Christmas parade was adorable though rather "dark" as in the lack of lighted floats. While the fireworks were the same repeat of the season, it would have been nice if they had an "exclusive" touch since it is an exclusive hard-ticket event.

3) Due to the overcrowdedness, it was difficult to get to the stage shows in time for the scheduled performances.

4) The dinner meal at Crystal Palace we had was not hot enough (I understand that it is a buffet but maybe there could be flame-warmers under each tray? Maybe there were? I have no idea). We did really like how much time Pooh and friends spent mingling and cuddling with us to share *their* warmth!

Pros: Too crowded
Cons:

Unfortunately, I must say that I have done this party 3 times now and it is worse and worse every time. Went on Tues, Dec. 4th. The crowds are out of control. Cast members do a good job of checking wristbands to make sure everyone who doesn't have one must leave the park, but they are located every few feet and it gets really annoying to continuously show your wristbands every few minutes.

If I am spending extra money for this, they should really reduce the amount of people they allow into the park. Did this in 2006 for the first time and everything was a walk on. It was super easy to get a spot for the 10:30 parade. This time, even 30 minutes in advance, it was hard to find a spot. Same for the fireworks. Many rides were open. We did get to do the Buzz ride in Tomorrowland 3 times without a long wait and the parade is exceptional. My favorite parade at Disney and the reason why I usually go to MVMCP at all. I liked the fireworks but have always preferred regular Wishes over Holiday Wishes, but still pretty good. Lines for cookies and cocoa and characters as well were outrageous. Got to meet Captain Jack Sparrow which was amazing. Loved him! Snow fall on Main Street was magical as well. Not sure if I will return unless Disney puts a better crowd limit on this. It would be much more enjoyable.

Pros: Lights and fireworks were beautiful.
Cons: Too overcrowded

We were at the party 12-13. The park was 5 times more crowded than during the day. The hot chocolate was luke warm. People pushed and shoved to see the parade. Definately not worth the cost of the extra ticket.

Pros:
Cons:

Agreeing with a previous poster, this event gets you 8 hours of park time for quite a bit cheaper than a normal ticket. But I'm a cast member and get free admission during regular hours, so I don't think the extra cost was worth it.

We entered around 4pm for our dinner ADR at Liberty Tree Tavern. Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin had a brief wait around 5:30pm. We watched the castle lighting show and loved it, but that's available to everyone. Then we went to Main Street and the Emporium for a MVMCP shirt. There was a queue, about 15 minutes and getting longer, to get these shirts. Ridiculous, but I did end up with one and I do like it.

I met Tinker Bell and Periwinkle with a 10 minute wait. My mom had some cookies and hot chocolate from Sunshine Tree Terrace and said the chocolate was good, but the cookies were processed and awful. Cinderella & family had a very long line. I saw Holiday Wishes from Liberty Square, which was amazing. We intended to watch the later parade, but there was some confusion and we were split up for over an hour, and when we finally reunited we were both cold, exhausted, and sore, so we left before the parade.

We didn't do nearly enough for me to consider the price of a ticket to be worth it. I might try it again dressed more weather appropriate. The crowds were not heavy at all, but trying to navigate them with a scooter is tiring under the best of circumstances.

Pros: Extra bonus hours at MK
Cons: Buses were overwhelmed

If you want 8 hours at Magic Kingdom with Extra Christmasy Magic for alot less than a regular park ticket...DO THIS!!
You can enter MK at 4 pm and rock out until midnight! Chocolate Chips, Snickerdoodles & A+ hot cocoa (Apple & Apple Juice) included and PLENTIFUL! They'll give you as much as you want each time and the waits are awesome! We didn't do the dance parties or most of the parade (Shameful, I know, but not our jam). Castle Dreams lights are gorgeous and the lighting ceremony is precious!
We went on Thursday 12/13 and the crowds were perfect! We rode everything we wanted to except Big Thunder Mountain (broken down). Space Mountain twice- waited 10 minutes each time! The loooooonnggg waits are for character meet & greets, just like any other time. Cast Members have definitely stepped up security with the wristband checks, which is a good thing. Highly recommend this event for both couples or with kids. We will do this every chance we get ever after!

Pros:
Cons:

Went to our first MVMCP on 11/9/12 with DH, DS6 and DS16. Park was beautiful and a sold out packed crowd. I don't think I will go back again until DS6 is much older and able to stay up later. The crowd was awful, you could barely move to get anywhere. We were not able to do any meet and greets. We made sure to ride all of the rides during the earlier part of our trip so we could focus on the party. We watched the castle show, fireworks and last parade, rode one ride, had some cookies and coco. That took up our time from 5 until 11pm. At that point, little one was asleep in my lap on the sidewalk. We did enjoy it as much as we could, it was our last night of our trip and we wanted to make sure to see WDW at its most magical and it truly was. I think you have to attend knowing that it is Disney, magical beautiful but you can't see it all in only a few hours. Plan out what's most important and do that first.

Pros: festive atmosphere, including scents during the parade
Cons: some rides were closed

We went to the party on November 27, 2012. I had read that a Tuesday night early in the season was the best time to go. It was perfect. It was a little crazy when we first arrived at 5 because the regular visitors to the park were still there. By 7, the atmosphere was a little calmer. My daughter loved the dance party. I loved the parade, with it's scents and sounds. The cookies and cocoa were plentiful. It was magical to watch the castle turn colors. Do you your homework about the day you visit and you won't be disappointed!

Pros: Decorations and snow on Main Street
Cons: CROWDS

I went last year and had a blast. Was so excited this year to go back and I was left down. There is only a few hours to fit everything in and it's hard when your shoulder to shoulder with everyone. It was only my husband and I and we had a really hard time trying to get from place to place. All the pushing and shoving was crazy. Like I said went twice last year and I left at 9:30 this year. I won't do this again. I wish they would monitor how many tickets they sell like they claim to do so everyone can enjoy.

Pros: Awesome Fireworks, Nice Parade, Short Attraction Lines
Cons: Crowds for Fireworks, parades, and treats

There were parts of the Christmas party that I loved and parts that I thought wasn't worth it. Hot cocoa and cookie stations were packed and when it came time for Holiday Wishes, the streets were packed just as much as during the regular Wishes show. Also, we waited until after the 2nd parade of the night to leave (around 11-11:30pm) and the crowd leaving was HORRIBLE!

The nice part of the party was the attraction lines. Most attractions you could just walk right on. It took my son & I more time to walk through the tent than it did to actually get on Dumbo. Several empty boats were going down Splash Mountain.

Despite the crowd, the fireworks show was awesome. The parade seemed pretty cool as well.

I'm glad we did it once, but I'm not sure if I'd do it more than once.

Pros: Less lines and getting on more rides
Cons: Getting in to get a wristband, extra price

We attended the 12/4/12 X-mas party. Getting into the park was quite chaotic. People were being ushered out at the same time we were trying to get in. Once in the park, & you were able to get off of Main Street, the crowds were much better. It was really neat to see it "snowing" on Main St. The park did not feel much different than during the other evenings we were there. The only real difference were the cookie and cocoa stations. Disney did have this organized and planned. It was nice. The other difference is that the ride times were a lot less then during the day. We got to do a lot more things that we previously had to wait for. That would probably be my only reason if I went again. Other than that, $60+ is a quite a bit of money just to avoid some line times.

Pros: Parade, fireworks, DANCE PARTYS
Cons: crowded

OK I personally had a BLAST as did my children. The free hot chocolate and cookies were good. The parade and fireworks were AWESOME.The crowds were more then manageable (although it was more crowded then I was expecting. Our date was NOT sold out so if it is sold out it might be too much). My FAVORITE part of the evenings was the characters dance parties. My five year old's face TOTALLY lit up and she was in heaven dancing with Santa Goofy. The characters focus on the little ones which was really nice considering there were adults there pushing the little ones out of the way. Over all if you can afford it, Its great to go ONCE. I'm not sure I'd pay to go again.

Pros: Cool parade
Cons: Crowds, wait times, frenzied entry

I did not have a very good time at the Very Merry Christmas Party on November 29.

The entry into the park was totally frenzied and amounted to people actually shoving to get their wristbands from completely overwhelmed cast members. There should have been a much better system for that.

It was really difficult to then maneuver down Main Street, especially with a wheel chair, to get anywhere because people were already lining up for the first parade of the night. Everyone was marveling at decorations and snow, and it was a congested mess.

Once we finally broke free, heading into Tomorrowland, it was still total chaos. People actually running to get to attractions and just acting kind of nuts. Isn't the point of a special event so that the pace can ease a bit, not get MORE panicked about attractions?

We did have a great show at the Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor... It wasn't all bad, but it wasn't very good, either. I did not feel like it was worth an extra ticket at all.

However, we caught the second parade, and it was pretty cool. But just a parade wasn't worth an added expense to our trip. I have had much better experiences at the Halloween party and wouldn't do Christmas again.
