Wife and I - yes, A Party Of TWO, went there Sept. 19. While the food was excellent, the service was slow and the place was not crowded at all. You would think that a place not busy and in this economic time would bend over backwards and provide but this was not the case esp. as I stated above, a party of TWO. The other thing is, while I understand the theming, they could turn up the lights a little more and still get the effect of a romantic place even though at the time there were a few ladies dining there in the area we were in. Would I go back? No, main reason is that this resort is not Disney owned even though it's on property. This was a one time thing.

My wife and I ate at Shula's back in late Dec. This meal was a Christmas gift to me (I am a huge Dolphins fans). The from the apps. to the dessert the food was very good. The staff went the extra mile even paying for our dessert when they found out this was a little adult getaway for my wife and I.
In every Steak house I have been to the lighting has been dark. But to me at Shula's you almost need a flashlight to read the menu.
Our table was near the back which could have been fine, but my wife has balance issues from 2 brain surgeries. It would have been ok if I could have parked her scooter somewhere close to us, but I had to take it back near the front for it to be out of the way.
Overall, I would recommend Shula's to any steak lover.

I had an excellent meal here on 09/20/08. Traveling alone, I opted to sit in the bar area which as not crowded at all. The server was very attentive and there was a nice selection of wines by the glass. My KC strip was perfectly cooked and seasoned and the baked potato was large and flavorful. I've dined here one other time and thought it was ok, so it was great to see an improvement in the food quality.

On the one side - my two visits here were two of the best steak experiences I have ever had. On the other.... with the exception of Victoria and Alberts, this might be the priciest meal on Disney property.
The five of us who have a great week of dining ended our time together at Shulas on Friday, July 18. Needless to say we all had steak - - and we all had GREAT steak. For an appetizer - I had the barbecued shrimp stuffed with basil - YEAH YEAH YEAH! I also had the 10oz. Mary Anne - - well presented. No room for dessert. Very expensive - but a nice place to go to once in a while.

We ate here for a business dinner in a large group, so it didn't cost us anything, but if we were to eat here otherwise, it was a bit expensive (over $1700 for 10 of us), not for your everyday dining. The steaks were excellent, we had the NY Strip and the Cowboy cut. They were tender, flavorful and cooked to perfection. The sides were okay, we had a variety of items -- the spinach, asparagus and broccoli was okay, nothing special; the hash brown and twice baked potatoes were very good. We had the lobster bisque to start, it was okay but I wouldn't get it again. The seafood appetizer special was excellent. The creme brulee for dessert was good, it was in a large bowl, but much shallower than is usual for creme brulee, so each bite was mostly caramelized sugar instead of cream. The lava cake was outstanding. The service was excellent, we wanted for nothing but it didn't feel intrusive.

The food was excellent. One of the best steaks I have had in Disney. The bread was very good too. I also had a baked potato which was very yummy. Only downside is the food is slightly overpriced. But I would eat here again.

We really enjoyed our dinner here a few weeks ago -- everything from the salad/appetizers to the steak and
lamb chops, to the crab mac and cheese sidedish was excellent, and properly prepared. The molten lava cake was outstanding. Service was prompt and knowledgeable without being intrusive. Definitely the place to go for a special occasion splurge, or an expense account business dinner!

I arrived at Shula’s right on time for my 9:30 ADR on Monday, October 1 and was seated within minutes at a small table for two. The hostess handed me a menu, which didn’t contain any information on the entrees, only the appetizers and salads—very strange. And, no football was set down in front of me—that’s usually part of the spiel at Shula’s. Menu items are listed on the sides of the football and the waiter comes by with a cart displaying samples of all the entrées, including a live lobster. Instead, a server came by to take my order, but of course I wasn’t ready because I hadn’t seen a complete menu or heard the spiel! Since I’ve dined at Shula’s before, I asked if a petite filet was available as an entrée. His response was that it wasn’t—only as part of the surf and turf. Very strange again--I’ve always been able to order that smaller cut a la carte. He then suggested the regular filet, but at 12-14 ounces, that seemed a bit too large to me, especially at that late hour. The waiter then offered Steak Mary Anne, which would be 8-10 ounces, depending on how the chef cut it, so that’s what I ordered with béarnaise sauce on the side, along with the lobster bisque to start and glass of Greg Norman merlot. Shortly after my wine and soup arrived, another server returned and asked me how I’d like my steak done, which I guess was good since I’d get it the way I wanted it, but bad since I wasn’t asked my preference when I ordered!.
The lobster bisque was OK (Ruth’s Chris Steak House still serves the best bisque!) and the wine was good, but the restaurant seemed kind of chilly—-maybe it was because I was still a feeling a bit damp from the sudden downpour earlier that evening! My entrée arrived after a perfectly acceptable interval between courses. But, my steak Mary Anne, although cooked properly, was served as medallions, something the waiter had failed to mention. They were very good, though, as Shula’s meat always is, but the usual accompaniment of sautéed peppers was missing. And, when I was finished with my meal, one of the servers brought my check despite the fact that I hadn’t even been asked if I cared for dessert (and I especially had a taste for their key lime pie!). I asked if I might have some dessert and the waiter hurried off to bring me a dessert menu. My key lime pie and decaf coffee arrived shortly thereafter. I had been looking forward to that pie—-I generally don't order dessert but Shula's really serves the best key lime pie I've ever had!
To sum up, my meal was good, but a bit disappointing when compared to my previous dining experiences at Shula’s. Hopefully, it wasn’t because I was dining alone or because it was getting close to closing time or because I was still drying out from my earlier encounter with the rain. The biggest problem was with the service. My team of servers seemed to have their signals crossed—-other diners got the football spiel, for example, while I didn’t. And, the menu seems to have changed (and not for the better) since I last dined there. Would I go back? It’s hard to say. I’m from Chicago, a big steakhouse town, and when people ask me where they should go for steak, I would always say “Shula’s, even though it’s a chain” because they really had the best quality beef for the hefty price you pay. Now, I’m not so sure I’d make that same recommendation …

unless you request it, the veggies come overspiced or oversalted, so tell your waiter

If you are hankering for a superb steak at the World's most deluxe training table, Shula's Steakhouse scores a touchdown. When you enter Shula's, you'll notice a clubby and masculine feeling with portraits of the Miami Dolphins, memorabilia, and footballs with the menu on them.
Each course is a first down. Before you order, your head-waiter presents a cart with mouth-watering meat and a live lobster. Some may feel this is spiel, but it is nice to "meat and greet your main course before its cooked. After that, choose from appetizers such as Shrimp Cocktail. We didn't order this, but some would. My dad ordered a NY Steak which was bigger than his head and brimming with juices. My mom had the Grilled Salmon Filet which was moist but charred on the outside and it was butterflied to insure an even consistency. The waiter even had the kitchen cook the salmon to my mom's liking. I ordered a Filet Mignon which was presented with a sprig of parsley on top and was juicy and had a pleasantly charred flavor. It was superb! We all shared steamed broccoli as a side, but unfortunately, there was enough salt to fill the Atlantic Ocean. Thankfully, our waiter took it back and brought out broccoli that wasn't oversalted and was perfect. Everything we ordered made for some of the best steaks we've ever had.
In addition to the superb food, we had superb service as well. Our server was Carlos who was quite friendly and catered to our every need. In addition to Carlos, we also had two helpers. Our beverages never went empty and our plates were taken promptly. In addition, Carlos, like every other Disney employee, went out of his way to accommodate my mom's allergies and dietary restrictions which include kosher and an allergy to butter. He went out of his way by taking the aluminum pan my mom brought and having the kitchen prepare the salmon on the pan. Thanks to Carlos, my mom was able to enjoy an excellent restaurant meal without worrying about her food allergies.
While this is an expensive meal due to a la carte prices, we felt we got our moneys worth. If the fact that prices are a la carte shocks you, don't worry, other steakhouses such as Ruth Chris or Morton's also charge a la carte. It may be a little expensive, but for what you get, it is worth it.
If you are looking for a place with superb steaks, great service, and a pleasant atmosphere, look no further than Shula's Steakhouse!

I admit I am a bit of a steak house snob so I was leery about heading to a "hotel" steak house. But, Shula's is very similar to Morton's, my favorite, same waiter-recited menu etc...and nearly as good!
Our cowboy steaks (bone in ribeye) were delicious and my husband was moaning rather inappropriately at the table while eating his. A few quibbles: unsalted butter with the bread is one of DH's personal pet peeves; low light and a bit too loud in the dining room; DH's steak was ordered blackened but came out regular. However, our server was both apologetic and quick to recitfy that.
My only other quibble isn't for Shula's itself, it's for the other diners. When we made our reservation we were told it was "business casual" and as such packed separate clothes specifically to wear to dinner. When we got there, however, most of the men had on jeans, there were teens in sweats and one whole family waltzed in in shorts, with the ladies sporting tank-tops with their cleavage spilling out. I think the little girl (who, by the way, was sitting down to a steak dinner ($35 a pop minimum) at 9 p.m.) in their party was actually in her PJ's. While this isn't a slam at Shula's, I think they should enforce their dress code a bit more. I don't want to pay $200+ for a romantic dinner with my husband while at the next table the guests look like they just rolled out of bed.

Made ADR at 5pm for 3-19-07. The service and food at this restaurant is exceptional. The only reason I did not give it a 10 was because of the extreme low lighting and I would have liked to receive a menu, with prices, instead of our waiter just reciting them.
We had a main server plus 3 other helpers pampering us. At first it was a little uncomfortable, one guy kept "combing" my table everytime I dropped a crumb. I'm a country girl...but could easily get used to this kind of attention. We had trouble reading the extensive wine list(because of the lighting), but our server helped by recommending a fabulous Cabernet.
Thanks to Allears, my hubby had reviewed the menu prior to our arrival...but I still would have appreciated a menu with the selections and prices. Our server recited the menu, but it was alot to take in at one time.
I ordered the Steak Mary Anne while my hubby had the filet, both were cooked to perfection. (The room was so dark, our server came with a flashlight to shine on our steaks for us to check for doneness) We shared a baked potato ....since all of the sides are big enough for at least 2 people.
For desert, we shared the choc.lava cake. This desert easily feeds 2-4 people and was absolutely the best desert in all of WDW. Next time I will take my own flashlight (he he) but would definantly plan a return appearance.

We went the on Valentines Day 07 DH and I. I had the 4 pound lobster and my husband had the cowboy steak. My lobster alone was 95 dollars. You walk in to the hotel and it's so grown up, lol, after being at Disney parks it was a nice change of pace. They bring a cart around with the different kinds of steak and a live lobster, and you place your order there. My lobster was ok it was raw in the claws and I had to send it back. My husband said the steal melted in his mouth. The sides are enough to share huge portions. Our bill came to 174.00 and that was ok since it was our treat for out time away from our kids. And we were on the DP at the other places. I don't think we would go back but all in all it was a great place.

A little too dark, can be loud at times

My visit was on 6/16/06. I took my wife there for her birthday. She is a steak lover, so I knew it would be a good choice. The atmosphere is very elegant, with a dark wood theme and low lighting. The lighting was almost too dark. Especially in some rooms, where its about the same darkness as my living room when all the lights are off except the glow of the TV.
The food was excellent, and served to us very professionally. I'm not a steak person but I can certainly recognize a high quality steak when I taste it. Its quite pricey, but definitely worth it for special occasions.
The seating areas are nice, but if possible try and get a table away from the busyness of the servers walking around. We sat in the middle of one of the rooms, so we had servers passing by constantly. Its also somewhat loud at times, which can be a bit annoying.
I'd recommend using the valet parking, since the walk to the restaurant can be quite long depending on where you park.
All-in-all, I definitely recommend it if you're a fan of steak and are looking for a nice place to take your significant other or group.

This was a new restaurant for us this visit (April 17-27 2006). The Dolphin Resort is huge, a bit overwhelming, long walks from the Parking Lot. Colourful lobby area, a bit odd really. HOwever, the restaurant is a different story - quite dark, table lamps on every table, quite a different, grown-up place. American football was given to us, showing the menu, then they showed up all the different cuts of steak, and other items on the menu. Even a lobster - which was still alive !! Our son's face was a picture! There is no children's menu, but a $10 charge for a split plate. I shared a huge Cowboy Steak with my son, which we both enjoyed - no fries or ketchup here, we had (huge) Idaho baked potatoes instead. The food was delicious, the servers very attentive. We would go back.
