Pros: peaceful and relaxed atmosphere
Cons: none

Stayed here from Nov.8-15 in room 5220 with DH, DD7 and DD9. We love it here! The grounds are beautiful and the relaxed atmosphere is wonderful after a busy day at the parks. Our mousekeeper Ely was awesome. Each day we would return home from the parks to find that Ely did something special to surprise our girls with (from towel animals to arranging their toys on the beds in pillow pyramids.) The room was clean and every French Quarter employee that we encountered was pleasant and helpful. The buses were a little hit or miss but the boat to Downtown Disney more than made up for that. The food court is small but more that adequate. The pizza and breakfasts that we had there were delicious, particularly the beignets. One of the only negatives is that the pool slide was closed this week for refurbishment but, the pool itself stayed open. This has been our 3rd straight year staying at POFQ and it definitely will not be our last.

Pros: Size of resort, convenience, theming, cleanliness
Cons: beds, towels

We stayed here November 3-8th. We checked in online so at the desk we just had to show an i.d. and were given our keys. We stayed in a standard view room in building #5 room #5141. I would definitely recommend building #5 because it's close to everything--the swimming pool, food court, lobby, and boat dock to Downtown Disney. Our room had a view of the courtyard and was quiet due to its location in the mid-section of the building.

I was hesitant to stay here after reading mixed reviews however our room was well cleaned aside from a light layer of dust on our ceiling fan. Like others have said, the rooms could use some updating--a fresh, cheery coat of paint, updated carpet and some brighter bedding and curtains and the beds were a bit firm. I found the vanity/sink area charming with updated sinks, an attractive wainscotting on the bottom half of the walls and a convenient shelf above the sinks. The bathtub could have used some tile work but they tub/shower was clean and had plenty of hot water. The bath towels could be slightly larger and softer, but still did the trick.

I loved the size of the resort. It was very easy to get around, not so sprawling as P.O. Riverside or Caribbean Beach. There's a nice walking path along the river and the "streets" between buildings are great as well. All the landscaping was meticulously maintained and the walkways clean.

Transportation was convenient-did have to stop at Riverside coming back from 2 of the parks but otherwise went straight to the parks from the hotel.

Ate at the food court for dinner 3 times--could use a few healthier items and a bit more selections. Food was ok, but not spectacular.

Pros: GOOD VALUE, QUIET, NICE STAFF
Cons: NONE

THIS WAS OUR SECOND STAY AT PORT ORLEANS. WE STAYED RIVERSIDE IN 2007, BUT IT IS JUST TOO BIG AND TOO MUCH WALKING. I LOVED THE MORE INTIMATE FEEL OF THIS RESORT. ROOM WAS LOVELY AND CLEAN AND WE HAD TOWEL ANIMALS MADE FOR US BY FABIOLA. WHO WAS FABULOUS!!! TRANSPORTATION WAS GOOD-ESPECIALLY THE BOATS. WILL HIGHLY RECOMMEND AND WE CAN'T WAIT TO GO BACK.

Pros: Food court, beautiful property, quiet, pool
Cons: Noise from other rooms, mousekeeping

Stayed Nov 1-8 building 2 rooom 2229 on the second floor river view, and overall we enjoyed the resort. It is beautifully landscaped, quiet and the river is very nice. We enjoyed the food court and never had an issue with crowds. The pool is nicely themed and the slide was great! We also enjoyed the boat to Downtown Disney and the scenic route it takes by the Treehouse Villas and Saratoga Springs.

The only negatives we had was our room wasn't the cleanest it could or should have been when we arrived: dirt behind the toilet, shower curtain dirty, peanuts on edge of carpet, breathe right strip on soap dish. There was also a lot of noise (shower, toilet) from other rooms. Never had an issue with hearing people, just water noises.

We did wait on occasion for buses on both ends, but French Quarter was always the first stop (Riverside stops came after French Quarter). In the morning FQ was the only stop. We used Magical Express and had no issues, and didn't share a bus with another resort on either end.

I would recommend to check it out as it was very nice, but we would probably stay elsewhere just to check out another resort as we weren't "wowed" by it.

Pros: one bus stop; beautiful property, quiet
Cons: bicycles and other amenties available only at Riverside

Stayed 6 nights Oct 20 through 26. Room on first floor of building 5 was in excellent condition. Mousekeeping (shirley) always kept room clean, and supplied plenty of washcloths all week (we asked for extra on the first morning). She supplied several cute towel decorations, and stopped by on our last day to tell us to take them home with us. We had a connecting door, and the connecting room was occupied by a family with at least one small child, but we never heard any noise at all from any direction, other than the last couple days we could occassionally hear toilet flushes from some nearby room. We have stayed at Caribbean Beach and Coronado, and we felt like the commute time was much shorter from this hotel, since it only had one bus stop. Once the bus left the stop, it took 10 or 11 minutes to Epcot or Magic Kingdom. Out of 3 trips to Epcot, 3 to Magic Kingdom, and one trip each to Animal Kingdom and Studios, we only stopped at Riverside one time on our way to Epcot (at 4:30 pm). I think we shared a bus home from the parks with Riverside once or twice, but since we stopped at French Quarter first, it did not affect us. We typically seemed to wait at least 10 minutes at the bus stop for the bus. Took Magical Express from airport to FQ; FQ was the first stop for our bus, and we arrived 30 minutes after leaving the airport. This was about 70 minutes from the time our wheels touched ground at the airport. (at 9:05 a.m.) We had no wait at all checking into the Magical Express System; about 3 to 5 minute wait before a bus was available to load; we were the first ones on the bus, but they only put about 10 to 15 people on the bus before taking off. I would say it probably took 45 minutes from the time we showed up at the Magical Express part of the airport until we arrived at FQ. Only one customer was in line to check in in front of us. Also only waited for one person when we had to check our luggage at departure.
Sometimes we saw lines of 2 to 5 people at the food court to order food (at 7:45 or 8:00 a.m.), and sometimes 4 or 5 people in line to pay, but they always seemed to open more registers whenever we saw 4 or 5 per line. There was never a problem at this time of day getting a table. We never saw anything close to all the tables full any time we walked through the food court. The only drawback was that you would have to walk or take the boat to Riverside if you wanted to rent bicycles or take the carriage ride, etc. It was a lovely walk. I would gladly put up with the walk to rent bicycles in order to only have one bus stop every time I want to head for the parks. Really loved this hotel.

Pros: Friendly staff- good location-small resort
Cons: Queues at food court- noise from neighbouring room

We stayed here 22nd October- 30th October and I would thoroughly recommend it. We stayed at All Star Movies last year and upgraded this year to a moderate and it was definately worth the money. To start the resort is small, compact and friendly, the grounds are lovely and all the staff I encountered where very friendly. Of special mention was Gregg on Concierge who seemed to have photo-recall and Ethel who cleared down in the foodcourt - her rendition of Happy Birthday to guests one morning would give Ethel Merman a run for her money- hugely entertaining! The room we had was in block 5- clean and well maintained daily - we had a great towel family of turkeys one day on return. The only draw back with the room was the noise level from the neighbouring room which seemed to eminate from interconnecting door - you could hear spoken conversation, not just raised voices. That apart, everything else was great. The kids loved the necklaces given out all over the place and the coins for the fountain. The food court had a good selection, queues formed at the checkout though as there did not seem enough staff to man the tills and food started to get cold as a result. I think that the All Star food court was better- the set up was probably more suited to handling more guests than POFQ. We took a walk along the river to Riverside and the kids loved the fishing available there. We liked the boat to Downtown and probably visited it more as a result of the boat journey which was a nice, leisurely way to get there. No problems with buses- once we picked up from Riverside on the way. Maximum wait for bus was 15 minutes. All in all an excellent resort.

Pros: well-laid out resort, friendly castmembers
Cons: none

My husband and I stayed at POFQ Sept 13-24. This was our fourth time staying at the resort and it is still our favorite. We stayed in Bldg 7 this time and although it seems far from the food court and bus stops it really isn’t as this is a small resort and everything is not very far of a walk. Bldg 7 is closest to Riverside. During our second week of our stay, the boat returning from Downtown Disney in the evening had at least 75 people waiting in line. A few times we had to wait for the third boat. A few days after the initial wait times, the bus stop area was shut down for re-surfacing so I am not sure why the long lines earlier in the week. But it was warm outside and people in line were pleasant so it really wasn't too bad to have to wait for a third boat but it was surprising all the same.

Pros: riverwalk; price
Cons: outdated; small rooms; bathroom setup

I have to admit that we stayed here after several nights at the new AKV-Kidani, so we were a bit spoiled before arriving. We stayed one night in a courtyard view room (3134.) The room was right next to the lobby and pool, which was great. We have a toddler and it was a tight squeeze to have the pack n'play in the small room. The room felt a little outdated and the furniture didn't match (perhaps its not supposed to because of the theming?)

I didn't love the set-up of the bathroom- a tiny room with a shower and toilet. The area with the sinks closes off with a curtain, but still didn't seem very private.

I haven't stayed at Riverside, but like the look of the area better than French Quarter (and also liked the larger gift shop and lobby area.) We walked over there a few times and ate at Boatwrights. The walk along the river was very pretty and not long at all.

The price was great with our Annual Pass, so I'd say it was worth it for the night we stayed (less than 1/2 of the cost of the AKV, so I have to take that into account.)

Pros: none
Cons: many

We chose to split our stay at WDW between this resort and POR. Having read all the glowing reviews of this resort, we just had to try it. I wish we hadn't.
We did not like the food court, well, we don't like any food court. The bar/lounge was not comfortable, the bar staff not interested in business. The entertainment at night took place in the hall way and was extremely loud and obnoxious. The gift shop was small, the staff in the gift shop was not the friendliest.

Checking in, checking out and checking the luggage to the airport was a breeze even though we used a town car for transportation to the airport. The front desk staff was extremely helpful and pleasant.

The greeters at the entrance to the resort were fantastic and a lot of fun.

All that said, we will not stay at this resort again. Not our cup of tea.

Pros: Size, location
Cons: needs updating

This is a beautiful resort!!! We stayed between Oct. 18th and 23rd. Last year we were here the same week and stayed at Riverside. Riverside was beautiful but so Big!!! This resort is a great size! Not so much walking to get to different parts of the resort. Bus service was pretty good and was rarely shared with Riverside. Food court gets a little crazy at times. Mousekeeping was very good. Online check in was so fast and easy.

Pros: LOVED the theming and the size of this resort
Cons: None

We stayed at PO: FQ October 3-10, 2009. When we booked the trip in January, we reserved a room with a King Bed, and we had a phenomenal room. Mousekeeping was excellent, the overall theming was fantastic, bus service was very good (we never waited more than 10 minutes for a bus), boat service to/from Downtown Disney was good, beignets were good. This was one of our most enjoyable visits to the World, in large part due to this resort. We will definitely be staying here again!!

Pros: size of resort,bus service,staff
Cons: none

We stayed at the port Orleans French quarter. Sept 30th -Oct 5 th . this is our third time here. the only reason I did not give this a 10 is due to the door to the cabinet for the fridge it had a busted hinge and the draws on the dresser would magically open by them selves once cloths were put in them . other than that the resort is a 10, the check in was not bad our room was not ready when we arrived but in 30 min we got a text massages it was ready. I had requested building five and I got it.also the magic express was fast and we had no wait when we arrived in Orlando. as for the buses and boats they were all very fast never more than a 5 min wait in the morning and the boats to downtown were about 10 min a very big improvement from DEC when we waited forever for a bus. only long wait was at Epcot one day about 15 min. As for the food court my only complaint was that it took for ever for them to get a burger ready I guess to save money they only cook things we they are ordered. We at breakfast each day and it was great, we had a lunch there it was good and ate one dinner and again it was good. The bell service was great each time I called for them they were at my room before I know it. I have stayed at other resorts(Caribbean beach 2 times,Pop century once, and Coronado once ) but for my money the three times at the french quarter were the best for me and I will be visiting them again in 2010

Pros: Small size, quiet, pool
Cons: Small and busy food court

First time staying at this resort 10/10 thru 10/17 and overall had no complaints other than I wish the food court was a little bit bigger with more food options. It is quiet and the only time we'd see people is at breakfast or getting in line for the buses. We almost always had our own bus in the morning to the parks and coming back from Illuminations. Other times we shared with POR and it was crowded, but we were always the first stop off in the evening. Waiting time for the buses was not much at all.

Mousekeeping was great. We asked for an additional blanket and it was delivered within 30 minutes. We were always given plenty of clean towels and glasses and had a couple towel animals during our stay.

We only ate at the food court for breakfast and it was always crowded. There isn't a whole lot of room in the court. They could use a few more cereal and yogurt options for breakfast but overall there is something for everyone.

The pool was nice and there were always plenty of towels available.

We try to stay in different resorts every time, but this is definitely my favorite moderate hotel and I would stay here again.

Pros: Location, Location, Location
Cons:

Just got back from WDW a week ago. This was our 5th visit there in the past 4 years. Our first time staying at FQ. It was great our room was in Building 5, corner room right on ground level right off from the main walking path. Very convenient to the pool, hot tub, main building and boat landing. This by far is the nicest resort we have stayed at, and I myself have stayed at the Boardwalk Villas and was not impressed there. Our room was always clean, extra towels and pillows left for us. It was surprisingly very quiet, given the location. The entertainment provided was even great. The CMs went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. Our girls were catered to everywhere. The only con, and this is probably true everywhere, Is that people are hot tub hogs. The only time during our stay that we could get anywhere near the hot tub was at 7am. Other guests didn't seem to follow the 15 minute rule posted by the hot tub. Other than that little gripe, I have none. Will recommend this resort to all and will return to this resort again.

Pros: Quiet, clean, nice staff, best value
Cons: none

DH and I stayed 9/23-9/27 for our 20th anniv, then moved over to AK Lodge. Although AKL is stunning, we still preferred French Quarter. It is quieter, slower paced. Our request for king river view was met beyond our expectations. We had a lovely corner room in Bldg 1 with not only a view of the river, but also the golf course. It was so quiet and peaceful, although a further trek to the bus than other bldgs. Nilda, our Mousekeeper, was great. The room was very clean and we had cute towel animals a couple of days. We've stayed at PO Riverside, WL, and AKL, and French Quarter is our favorite!
