Pros: Small resort, wonderful peoople, great foodcourt, excellent mousekeeping, and close to buses!
Cons: None

This was my granddaughter's first trip to WDW! We choose Port Orleans from the positive reviews on All Ear's! We arrived at 730AM, ate breakfast at the food court and were in the Magic Kingdom by 0830! Bus service was excellent! We had our room by 930 am! Everything was perfect. We did purchase the refillable mugs! We enjoyed the food court, because it had great choices, activity center for our granddaughter, and a TV! The pool was beautiful and warm for December.
We did the Princess breakfast in the Castle and it was amazing! A must do.
We love Port Orleans and would recommend this resort to anyone.

Pros: Small size, friendly cast
Cons: Bus service

We stayed for the first time at POFQ for 4 nights in early Dec. Our room was in building 5, facing the courtyard area which was nice and quiet. Loved being in building 5--close to the pool as well as the lobby, laundry and bus stop.

The rooms were recently remodeled and it shows. Everything was well kept and mousekeeping was excellent throughout the stay.

The one challenge we had was bus service. No matter when we boarded a bus, the wait was long--no shorter than 20 mins and sometimes more than 30. Each time, the buses were packed leaving FQ and never even made a stop at POR. We seemed to have better luck coming back to the hotel. We visited during an off-peak time so crowds were relatively low. Not sure how things are during the summer or peak holiday periods.

I also enjoyed having the option to take the boat to DTD--made the trip pleasant and easy.

All in all, we liked POFQ and found it a good value for the money. If choosing a moderate, I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Pros: Small size, Mousekeeping, theme
Cons: none

We stayed at the FQ from Dec. 20-25th this year. We have previously stayed at the Contemporary, and were a little hesitant about a Moderate resort, but were traveling with DH's parents and sister and brother in law, so price was a consideration. We had three rooms, side by side, and all six agreed that the FQ was an excellent choice! The resort is much smaller than most Moderates, and it was a quick walk between buildings and the bus loop. The holiday decorating was beautiful throughout the resort, and the overall theme of the French Quarter was really very fun! We enjoyed the evening singer in the lounge as well! We had a few quick meals at the counter service restaurant, which, for counter service was not bad at all- many options, even for the picky eaters in our group! We had no problems with the bus service, even during a high volume time of year. Mousekeeping was impeccible, and the staff was helpful and friendly. As self proclaimed "resort snobs", DH and I were very pleased with the high quality of the French Quarter!

Pros: newly refurbished
Cons: no lines at bus stop

We stayed at the French Quarter from Dec 4 thru the 8. The rooms are newly refurbished and everything looked great. King bed was comfortable with linens of great quality and abundance as were the toiletries. Mousekeeping was excellent (towel Mickey and birds) Special requests were honored-we were in bldg. 4, close to the bus stop. Transportation was great(except for the lack of signage and lines in the waiting areas) We waited 9 mins or less each way at every park. French Quarter seemed to be the only stop everytime we were on the bus. Breakfast at the cafe was fast, convenient and satisfactory. It was clean and well supplied. The grounds and decor were lovely (not as over the top as the bigger resorts that we saw)Look for Hidden Mickeys in the room and bathroom.

Pros: compact,romantic,
Cons: no queuing system for the buses

We (DH and I) have just come back from our Disneymoon here. It was perfect! Its a beautifully themed, romantic and, most importantly SMALL (by Disney standards) resort. We had a lovely quiet room. The pool, food court and lobby were all beautifully decorated. Mousekeeping were great. The rooms have the comfiest bed I have ever slept in. Only 2 minor quibbles-there is no queue for the buses-its a free for all when it turns up, and sometimes (off peak times) the bus goes on to Riverside afterwards, so it adds 20 mins to your journey to the parks(however we get dropped off first on the way back!) The only real problem is that this was a splurge for our honeymoon and I don't think either of us fancy going back to the Values now!

Pros: Beautiful, well-kept grounds
Cons: boat service

We were here three nights in December for D23 events. Our previous stay was in a WDW concierge level just 6 weeks ago, so I'll try not to compare the two. To us, the POFQ is the best of the moderates. Its advantages are its small size (compared to the other moderates), pleasant, relatively quiet environment and capable staff. Our room was ready when we arrived at noon. The room was very clean, recently updated. Housekeeping service was unobtrusive. Since we were only in the room between late at night and early in the morning, we can't say too much more, except it's a pleasant place to sleep. We were a bit peeved with the boat service, which is posted at arriving every 10 minutes, but we had to wait more than 45 minutes for a boat, missing our dinner reservation time at Downtown Disney as a result. Boats coming from POR would bypass the POFQ dock, another sat at the dock for 15 minutes, then pulled away empty, and although we were not far back in the waiting line, it wasn't until a third boat stopped and loaded that we were able to get on. Boats with more capacity would be welcome. Another small quibble: A resort themed after New Orleans ought to offer better coffee in the food court.

Pros: small size, quick walking distances, cute
Cons: pillows,

I would start by saying I have stayed at all of the moderate resorts and most of the deluxe, and this is by far the best moderate resort Disney has to offer. Smaller in size so to get anywhere was never more than a 2 to 5 minute walk, decent quick dining, very scenic and nice resort, great for couples and small families. Room was decent, but did feel a little cramped with myself DGF DS 13 and DD 7. But who goes to Disney to stay in the room. Decent double sink, small bathroom and changing area did the job. Beds were not that great, pillows are lacking...so bring your own.
Transportation was pretty good, nice boat ride to DTD 10-15 minutes, bus transportation was fine, French Quarter is the first stop and usually have a dedicated bus that doesn't stop at Riverside. This resort just has a very nice feel to it. Staff was very friendly even the short order cooks in the cafeteria were helpful. All in all, I would recommend this resort above any other moderate resort. But, it is not on the same level as the deluxe resorts for the most part.

Pros: price, location
Cons: nothing major

Our favorite Moderate resort. Stayed here Sun 11/27-Sat 12/3. Room was ready at 3PM when we checked in. Mousekeeping did a fine job all week. Updated room decor is very comfortable. Our room was second floor, so we had a charming "street view", and were able to appreciate the theming. We took the the boat to Downtown Disney one night, which was a nice option. We drive down , so didnt use any bus service. Enjoyed breakfast and lunch offerings at Sass. Floatworks ... enough selections for everyone. If you're looking for a clean , convenient"moderate"option, this POFQ is a great choice. Highly recommend.

Pros: Clean, Convenient, Charming
Cons:

Visited 11/30-12/4
Room was ready when we arrived at 12:45...clean (with the exception of a single jelly belly at the door) and with a towel Mickey! Mousekeeping was great and found that it improved after tipping- multiple towel animals! Wink Cast members here were friendly and helpful. Buses were timely and were "slam full" only once (returning from Hollywood Studios at closing), luckily we had seats every time and even had our own private bus a couple of times!

Pros: Small, Quaint, Great Resort
Cons: Sometimes shares buses w/POR, heater in pool stopped working

Spent 12 wonderful days at my favorite moderate resort!!! I love this resort! It's small, so it's easy to get everywhere. Room was great. Love the queen sized beds here, instead of full sized one's found at the other moderates & values.

Only cons were that it shares it's buses with POR at times, which makes getting to that park alot longer than anticipated. The only other con was that the heater in the pool stopped working, so the water temp was on the cooler side.

Other than that, it was another great stay!!!

Pros: charming, relatively small, great value
Cons: no sit down restaurant

Finished a 2 day stay here, our first at FQ; have enjoyed the Poly and Beach Club previously. Some may think FQ is a step down, but other than the lack of being adjacent to a park FQ has some great features at a price that is tough to beat. True Nawlins FQ charm, neat pool, wonderful food court with varied choices and interesting lobby/entertainment area makes an enjoyable stay. Smaller resort footprint and close adjacent parking are major advantages. Didn't get to enjoy the boat ride to DT Disney, but that's on the agenda for a future visit, as well as an appointment with the beignets in the food court!

Pros: Great location, nice rooms..
Cons: Lack of sit-down restaurant

Hubby & I just got back from a stay at POFQ, 11/12-11/18. We booked a room with a king bed, & were assigned room #3215 in building #3. Awesome location, very convenient to both the main lobby, bus depot & the boat ride going to DD. The room was very spacious, and had plenty of room for our toiletries on the double sink plus the storage area underneath. Our "Mousekeeper" did a great job each day, and left several towel animals for us. We used the boat service several times to DD, as we ate dinner there and also went to see Cirque du Soleil, and found it to be very convenient. Bus service was no better here than at other resorts we've stayed at. Having to make all the stops at Riverside was time consuming, especially coming back from DD. I really think all the resorts should have a direct bus to the Boardwalk after 6pm. (We had to wait for 3 completely loaded buses to come & go before we were finally able to get standing room on a bus from Boardwalk to DD to catch the bus back to POFQ!)
We only ate at the food court once for lunch (on the DDP) and found the shrimp po'boy to be quite good. I only wish this resort had a sit-down restaurant on site. If only Disney could entice Emeril Lagasse to open one here....
All in all, we really enjoyed our stay here, and would definitely stay here again.

Pros: location, small, great castmembers, pool
Cons: none I can think of

We stayed here at the Port Orleans French Quarter for the first time the middle of October and are now coming back again in a couple of weeks as we are in love with this lovely, quiet out of the way resort. We did not get to try the boat to DD, but will on our return trip. We had 3 rooms, with 2 being connected for myself, my daughter-in-law and 2 grandchildren. My other son and his girlfriend stayed in another corner room and was also very pleased. We did the movie at PO Riverside on a Thursday night (Spooky Buddies) and that was a special little treat for the kids. The price was great for Florida residents which we are, so another perk was not having the huge cost when we were not in our rooms that much. The pool was wonderful, however, I would question whether or not is was heated, as it did NOT seem like it was warm, so we didn't swim in the evening as the days were a little on the cool side while we were in Orlando. Cannot say enough about everyone who works at this resort as they were all smiling and very friendly. Cannot wait for our next stay, we cancelled one room at the Boardwalk (great place also) and reserved 2 rooms for less money at PO.

Pros: Perfect size hotel. Quaint, charming.
Cons: Food Court

Stayed here from 11/2 thru 11/6. I have stayed here before and really like it. Rooms have been refurbished and "mousekeeping" always came early, which was nice. We were 2 adults so we were up and out early. Rooms were nice and clean each day.
The food court is ok at best. The sign says they open at 6, but you can't get food till 7, only coffee. Also, each day we were there at around 7 - 7:15, there was never any syrup out for pancakes or waffles. By the time you asked for it and they brought it out your food was cold. The staff there was not the most cheerful bunch in Disney either. The food court could use an upgrade. This will not stop me from returning. We had a great time and look forward to our next trip!

Pros: Compact, friendly, neat, fun, lovely, wonderful!
Cons: Having to go home.

There is something magical about this resort! Our Mousekeeper was great, we had towel animal and the room was very neat. The Cast Members were so friendly and efficient! They all really went out there to make sure that any and all questions were answered. This is our favorite resort, and I have stayed at most of them! The small layout is a plus as is the boat to Downtown. The buses all ran well and it was just a great vacation!
