This resort was beautiful. We stayed in 1 of the newly refurbished rooms/buildings (#6) and were close to the main lobby. The walk was short but the resort felt so much like New Orleans that we didn't mind the walk. Everything was clean. We would recommend this to anyone. We got very lucky with the buses. Only had to wait minutes usually. Only 1 time was it crowded. The return trips from HS, Epcot and AK we did share buses with the Riverside BUT...the French Quarter was the first stop. It was great! The only item at this resort that needs work is the staff at the food court. The wait was terrible because they were goofing off. We waited about 15 minutes for a burger and fries and when we told other staff-they laughed. It was the worst service. We told other staff so maybe they will work on it. Some guests were leaving the food court entirely. We will so be staying there again-it is great!

Stayed here in December. I will not stay here during Pop Warner football. Some of the cheerleaders were rude and nasty. Other than that, this stay was great. The staff were great. Our luggage didn't make our flight from Seattle but the desk clerk helped us by calling the airline and checking on it for us and when the bags had arrived, they brought it right up. I liked the fact the pool was opened at 6:00 am. Great way to start the day. Will stay here again.

We went in mid-December and had a very pleasant stay. We had two adjoining rooms in Building 3 which was close in. Mousekeeper left us towel animals every day but one (we tipped daily which may have helped). Fun music in the evenings!

We stayed here the week before Christmas this past December. I have stayed at this resort 5 times before. My only complaint that I have ever had about this resort is that it needed some updating. And now, the updating is being done. I consider this place to be my home away from home. I absolutely love it here!

We stayed here for 7 nights and got a refurbished room in Bldg. 6....a corner room by the stairs but we never had any noise problems (except the toilet flushing....which seems noisy everyplace and not just at POFQ)! We loved our stay there and liked it better than when we stayed at the Poly, the Contemporary, Caribbean Beach and in a cabin at Ft. Wilderness due to it being a nice, quiet atmosphere after busy days at the parks. My only complaint (and this isn't just about POFQ) is that Disney charges $9.95 per day for internet. Even cheap chain hotels provide that service for free and if Disney feels the need to charge, I think maybe $10 per week would be more reasonable. Bus service was great when we were there, but the boat to DTD and POR was out of service a couple of times when we wanted to take it. Luckily, we got to take it once, though, and enjoyed it. The pool was cold but we were told that the heater wasn't working AND the pool had been drained for cleaning and refilled the week before, so the water wasn't up to Disney's usual 82 degrees when we were there. The hot tub was wonderful, but I expect it gets very crowded sometimes. Nice laundry area there, too. I think this will be "our" resort at WDW from now on!

Stayed in building five for 14 days, with my spouse and 8 year old daughter, just before the renovations. My sister in-law and her family where also in building five in a non connecting room. Both rooms found house keeping lacking. Some days there were clean towels, some days not. No towel animals. Sometimes they cleaned the bathroom, sometimes not. The one day we did not leave a tip for housekeeping, (had no change), the clock radio went off at 3 a.m..
Loved that the resort was so small it only took minutes to go anywhere. Especially good after a long day at the park.
My family only ate in the food court 2x during our stay and found the food to be all right, but slow, slow, slow. On the other hand, my sister-in-law ate there every night and loved it. Her husband insisted on stopping in to get tea and a snack before heading back to the room every night.
The staff was wonderful when my daughter was stung by a wasp in the pool area. They couldn't help us fast enough, it seems this last summer and fall Disney World had a lot of trouble with wasps according to more them 1 CM.
Did not like that later in the evening some adults would take over the patio area of the pool, bring their own alcohol and proceed to act like idiots. Their children had no supervision in the pool and it showed. Would have loved a quiet pool, to get away from the "rowdy" crowd. That is not a problem of the resort of course, but a problem none the less.
Buses were good except to Animal Kingdom, that trip took close to an hour. After that first bus ride we took the car when we visited that park again.

We stayed here Jan 26-Feb 3rd 2011. We requested a refurbished room and were given 6146, overlooking the river. It was very scenic and still an easy walk to the food court, pool and bus stop.
The room was excellent: squeaky clean and new, with comfy beds and a fantastic showerhead. There is a very useful storage shelf above the double sinks as well as a shelf underneath the sinks.
There is not a closet per say but there is a bar next to the sink to hang clothes on. A curtain can be pulled to separate the sink/"closet" area from the rest of the room. The bath/toilet area is separate. This allowed good use of the facilities to get ready in the morning.
Anther nice touch is separate coat hooks over a bench. We had plenty of storage for our belongings between the shelves and the bureaus. The one thing my husband and I did not love was the hard pillows. A little too bulky for our tastes.
Bus service was fantastic. Our longest wait for the entire week was 10 minutes. Many times we walked right on. We even took the bus back from Boma's at Animal Kingdom Lodge (AKL to Epcot to POFQ) in only 30 minutes total travel time. We never shared buses with POR on the way to the parks, only on the way back. And then we were the first stop.
The food court was fine, but it did get crowded in the mornings. Selection was ok but not huge. There was a nice coloring table that my DD 6 loved. I heard that POR food court had a much greater selection and some people would walk over there (about 10-15 min) to eat.
We did brave the pool a couple of times. Nice water slides and theming. The lifeguards were all very friendly. The water was a bit cool but that was likely because of the ambient temp (low 70's when we took the plunge). The hot tub was nice; off in a separate quiet area.
They were renovating Building 5 during our visit so hopefully all the rooms will be newly redone in the near future. All in all, a great place to stay and we would go back.

When I called to reservations asking for a close building, they didn't tell me that several close buildings were closed for renovation. So we ended up in the farthest away building. Luckily the resort is small enough. We checked in late at night and the staff at the Front Desk was not helpful. It was myself and my college aged daughter staying in the room, so there weren't any towel animals which disappointed me. But the room was comfortable enough, there was the coffee maker with plenty of coffee/cups, plenty of towels/pillows, hangers and the refrigerator. The safe was too small for my tiny netbook computer so we had to lock it in a suitcase. For the amount of time we were in the room, it was fine. The grounds are very pretty. We did not use the pool - too cold in January. I love having the water taxi to get to PORiverside and Downtown Disney. The store is small but the cashier was willing to call PORiverside to see if they had an item we wanted. The store staff were helpful as were the foodcourt staff. Would a deluxe resort have been nicer? Of course! But this is a good value, a good location and compact enough for tired people when they get back from the parks.

First trip to WDW. Wasn't disappointed!! When we arrived they have us in non-connecting rooms, which we needed. They put us in newly renovated rooms. Never been used! We were in building 4, close to the pool and food court. The beds were so comfortable! Love the decor of the resort. On the 5th day of our stay we noticed a leak in the ceiling. They moved us to more newly renovated rooms in the same building! It was really no problem. We would recommend this resort to anyone!

Nice resort!
Room could have been a little cleaner, wasn't bad, just my baby found a piece of pop tart crumb near on the floor near bed and we didn't have poptarts. also a crayon laying on the floor that was not ours.
We went back to our room every day for naps around 2-3 and the first 2 days the room was cleaned by then, the next day we got there right at 3 and was not done yet. a maid next door said it was someones room to clean and said she should be there soon. after about 15 min we decided to put the "do not disturb" sign out since the kids were sleeping. the maid knocked any ways, she said the manager told her to come clean our room. then the next day our room got cleaned but the overflowing dirty diaper trash was never emptied.
Other than that no complaints, pool was nice, boat to DD was nice. the first day we were there the bus we were on went to French Quarter and Riverside but the rest of the week it only stopped at our resort which was nice. gift shop has plenty to buy. Food court could have a little more selection.

For a "Moderate Resort", it was an excellent value. I was greeted with a towel-Mouse on the bed, which I left there all week, so no other towel animals appeared. I traveled alone the week of 1/20-1/26, and found housekeeping to be almost over zealous. I was a bit taken aback by the Internet Access charge of $10/day, but free is a RARE thing in this 'Magical' place.
I was in the newly refurbished building 7, which is the furthest from the center of the resort, but never seemed like a march to get to shuttles or the food court.
I'd stay there again, though I did stop in the Grand Floridian, which appeared.... gasp... fabulous!

We just returned from our 4th visit to FQ. We stayed 1-15 to 1-22. We were upgraded to a waterview room and were lucky enough to get a refurbished room in building 6. I love the changes, the queen size bed was wonderful! The new tile and vanity area were very nice and I really liked the new showerheads too. The refurbished room did not have any grab bars in the shower area. I thought that was strange.
The grounds are wonderful. We love the boats to Downtown. Elliott Dyson is a must see. The kids still love the pool.
CM's were mostly fantastic. Shelly at Mardi Grogs is an all time favorite as is Ethel in the food court. The only negative was the front desk cm who refused to look in the lost and found for my missing jacket. I asked again the next morning and Vera made my day by pulling my beloved jacket out of the back room!!!
The food court is good, but we do not eat there every day. We can all find something to enjoy there.
Once again we had a great experience and already are trying to figure out when we can get back.

We stayed here on December 16th for one night. We were hoping to be one of the lucky ones that got a renovated room in building 7, esp since we stayed in that building for our honeymoon 11 years prior, but we knew the chances were low since we were arriving so late (around 7pm). While we did not get a renovated room, we did have a lovely room in Building 2 not too far from the Food Court/main building.
Our room was clean and fresh smelling. There was a small area chipped on a tile in the bathroom, but I'm taking ranking the hotel lower because I know they are renovating soon I like that they give several to-go cups by the coffee maker instead of just 2 like some hotels do. It's convenient if you want both water, coffee, or to have the kids split a juice, etc.
We ate at the Food Court and it was very good (review will be separate), though not excellent. I wish that they had just a little more variety as I'm sure if we had been here more than a 2-3 days like most people, we might have gotten bored with the menu.
We did LOVE Elliott Dyson (the jazz musician that they have some nights) as he was fabulous. We must have stayed watching him for 2+ hours and it was one of the highlights of our trip. The Scat Cat Bar is also nice.
The hotel was decorated for Christmas and it was really beautiful, especially the lobby. It was one of the best decorated that we saw over the next 10 or so days.
We are hoping to go back for one night (as we are DVC ) in the near future so we can try out a newly renovated room and see Dyson again

We stayed here for 1 week during the first week in January. It was very pleasant and I would recommend it. The only small issue we had was that we had booked a preferred room and we were given a room a long, long, long, long way from the main building. However, we were entertained frequently by the many squirrels playing as we walked to our room. The staff were very pleasant and the maids replied to the many notes my daughters wrote to them concerning the "very important topic" of towel animals. I would stay there again.

I hope this review will be helpful. In response to all of the reviews about the resort needing a refurb, I am going to write a review about our most recent visit.
My mother and I just returned from staying in one of the refurbished FQ buildings.
We were in Building 6, with a river view. Our room was clean, comfortable, cozy, and everything was sparkling. The shower head had amazing water pressure, the beds were free from nicks and scratches, and the vanities were shiny. The bathtub and shower were immaculate. There is now a full vanity at the sink, where there used to be two pedestal sinks. We had plenty of room for all of our toiletries. The carpet was not the softest, but very clean. The bed linens were a little scratchy. MouseKeeping was very rigorous, and our rooms were perfect upon check-in.
The food was good, hot and fresh. Even at high-traffic times, my mother never waited more than two minutes for a fresh omelet. The staff was very nice about explaining DDP to us, and everyone was friendly.
Building 4 was being renovated when we were there last week (the days leading up to the Marathon) but we were never bothered by noise.
The one HUGE CON we experienced was definitely transportation. Getting home from a dinner at the California Grill one night was a nightmare. MK shuts down bus service after 9PM, so we were rerouted to a DD bus. Had I known it would take us an hour and a half to get home, I would have paid for a taxi from the Contemporary. Morning bus service was often prompt, as my mother and I hit the parks for rope drop every single day. We experienced the most problems getting home every night, no matter what the park. Even getting home from DD by bus was awful- take the boat when you can.
All of these bus problems were before Marathon Weekend hit, and it just became worse from there.
I would definitely recommend requesting a refurbished room if you are staying at FQ in the near future. We loved our room, and we loved FQ. If they could sort out the transportation issues, it would definitely enhance an already fabulous moderate resort. If we did not have so many transportation problems, I would give a 10 in a heartbeat.
