Pros: Small resort, close to everything, new rooms
Cons: Buses, mousekeeping

We stayed at POFQ from July 5 thru July 14. We were in building 5. We were close to everything. Beautiful resort. Rooms were very nice and happy to have a bigger bed. Food court was clean and accomidating. The cons were buses. we had to wait at least 20 to 30 miutes all the time. We also shared with Riverside often. Mousekeeping was not good. we never got towel animals even when we requested them for our kids. There were days when they never serviced our room and even when we called. I dont think it is the norm for the whole resort. I think we just had a bad mousekeeper. As a whole I would stay there again. But I do like Caribbean beach resort more.

Pros: size, rooms, grounds, pool, service
Cons: no full service restaurant

I LOVED this resort. The grounds are beautiful and the staff is excellent. Our room was ready by 11 am which was perfect. The food court has great variety but closes too early (The soups are gone by 9 pm). The gift shop is great. The pool is beautiful with a surplus of chairs. The staff is very helpful. We needed a few things late at night and they brought them up to our room immediately even though we offered to come get them. The rooms have all being re-done and look like the rooms you would have at a deluxe resort. The only rude staff member we encountered was the lady who checked us in. We will definitly be back here soon! Buses are GREAT!!!

Pros: pool,resort dining,very clean rooms
Cons: none

My family and I have stayed here one time of our many trips to Disney World and it has to be my favorite resort! When my DD went in the pool she said it was beautiful at night. We do want to come back on our next trip to Disney.

Pros: Small resort, good buses
Cons:

My favorite resort! It's small enough that everything is so close. The buses were great, we only had to share with Riverside during off times. The quick service was good and we enjoyed the pool. The washers and dryers worked better than our last visit. I am so sad that as a family of 5 that our next trip we won't be able to stay here!

Pros: moderae price
Cons: none

I have been to WDW more than 10 times and Port Orleans French Quarter is by far my favorite. Besides it being a beautiful resort, the pool is wonderful and the staff is the best of any resort I have stayed at, including value and deluxe resorts. My kids know every inch of the property and we enjoy the water taxi access to Downtown Disney. I especially love walking though the doors at night and hearing live music. The food court is one of the best as well. My kids enjoy the cast members welcoming them with Mardi Gras coins when returning from the park. I highly recommend the hotel to everyone.

Pros: Small size, One bus terminal, New renovations
Cons: Beds a little bit hard!

Our family spent the second trip in 2 years (5/27-6/22/2011) staying here again! We had to push our daughter around in a wheelchair bc of her broken toe, and REALLY appreciated the small size of the resort this time! I really like the thought put in to the layout of the rooms (especially after the new renovations). Plenty of storage, hooks for our bags, a draw curtain to pull across when getting dressed, shelves in the bathroom. We moved to Universal afer 7 days here, paid more for a higher end resort, and it didn't compare to the organization and "livability" of these rooms. We love to take the boat to DD, and the amibance can't be beat. I am too afraid to try another resort because we love POFQ so much!

Pros: All
Cons: Mouse Keeping

Stayed 6-10-11 ~ 6-17-2011. This is our favorite of all the resorts.
We have stayed at least 12 times now. Grounds nice. Rooms clean. Stayed in building 2. Newly remolded. Only the pillows were hard. Bring your own. Mousekeeping always came at 7-8 AM or not at all. Just left towels. Had to call the 3rd day for cleaning service.

Buses ran good except coming back from Downtown Disney. Had to wait in the rain for nearly 30 min.

Parks were all neat and pretty. We always have a great time.

Pros: friendly staff and clean room
Cons:

We love the Port Orleans French Quarter! This was our second time staying there and it didn't disappoint! I was in an ECV this time and we were 4 in our room (3 adults and 1 12 year old). We were in building 5 which was newly renovated. It didn't feel crowded at all. We were there from Feb 24 until March 4. We took the ferry to DTD with no problems at all. The buses were terrific. A+

Pros: new rooms
Cons:

We stayed at POFQ May 21-25. It was myself, my sister-in-law, my nephew (21) and a friend, so we had 2 connecting rooms. I had done online check-in. We were in Bldg 7, 2nd floor. I was a little disappointed as I had requested ground floor, bldg 4 or 5, but it was OK. I like the renovated rooms. Lots of space in the vanity area. It seemed a little strange to only have 3 drawers, when the room is designed to sleep 4. I have to agree with other posters, the pillows are kind of hard. Mousekeeping was good, as usual. Even from Bldg 7 the walk to the pool, food court and bus did not take more than 5 min. We never had a problem finding a table at the food court, even at 8AM for a quick breakfast. We ate lunch there twice, one time took our food out to the pool area. Nice!! We didn't get to take the boat to DTD this time. (Not enough time). We never waited more than 10 minutes for a bus to the parks, and only shared with Riverside once. That was in the afternoon. A couple of evenings we stopped at the pool bar- Shelly is a lot of fun! She makes a great margarita! It was another great stay (although not nearly long enough). I've stayed at POFQ 6 or 7 times and look forward to another visit in Aug. with 2 granddaughters.

Pros: everything
Cons: counter service

Visited French Quarter from June 1 through 7. We arrived in pouring rain around 1pm. We completed online check-in, so the process at the resort took 5 minutes. Our request for building 4 was granted, and they also allowed us to have a late check out.

Our room was not ready, but we grabbed lunch at the counter service and then headed to the pool bar to wait for our room to be ready or the rain to stop. (The Mardi Grogs staff was awesome--had a wonderful time talking with them during our trip!) Received a text around 2:20 that our room was ready.

Renovated rooms were lovely. We called Bell Services to bring up our Garden Grocer order. Within 10 minutes, both our groceries and our Magical Express luggage were delivered. Our Mousekeeper Rosa stopped by to introduce herself as well. She took very good care of us during our stay.

Only slight negative was Floatworks counter service. It just wasn't anything special for breakfast or lunch. Boatwrights was great, though.

We had looked forward to this trip for months and it did not disappoint. FQ is beautiful and everything is close to everything. The boat to Downtown Disney was very convenient, and ran frequently. Except for 1 day, we never waited more than 10 minutes for a bus, and only shared with Riverside twice. And the walk to Riverside was easy. Overall, an incredible stay.

Pros: So peaceful and quiet
Cons: Overbooked king beds

DH and I stayed here May 19-25. We had a king bed booked with an AP discount but when we checked in at noon they told us we were being upgraded to a deluxe, SSR...now that is not a deluxe to us so we griped a bit and finally decided on taking a queen bed room and WDW refunded us the price difference.

Our room was building 5, room 5235, overlooking the courtyard. It is the perfect location, very quiet, close to the boat launch, the CS, the pool, the laundry and basically everything.

The room was gorgeous except for 2 large black stains on the pretty gold carpet. The beds and pillows were so comfy, the room was just immaculate.

There was a bounceback offer in the room for the last week in Oct and I thought I would try to get the POFQ at a cheaper rate than the AAA rate I already have booked but there wasnt one night available at the POFQ on the bounceback...so I have to hope for an AP rate to come out and just apply it to that existing reservation.

The laundry room was great, nice to sit at the pool bar and chill while waiting for your clothes. Cost is $2 for washers and dryers, 30 minutes each. $2 for detergent and fabric softener as well

The hot tub was never crowded but it was 96 outside so who wants to sit in that? We spent alot of time at the pool and it was never crowded or noisy. Mardi Grogs is a great pool bar, fantastic servers and drinks. THe night of the Dancing with the Stars finale there were a bunch of us watching it and having a drink and just enjoying the fun.

Sassagoula Floatworks is awesome! We ate breakfast there just about every single day and the cheese danish and cinnamon buns were so moist and tasty. The biscuits and gravy were very salty, the bacon just pathetic but the eggs and croissants were to die for. The fruit cup with grapes and melon was pretty ick...not ripe. The yogurt area will sell you just a cup or mixed berries and that was very good. You will not get the TIW discount on the mugs here but on everything else you will.

Buses could not have been better...we shared with POR just one time and the buses were never full and the longest wait we had was 10 minutes. That is from the parks as well.

We walked along the water to POR and took the boat back....waited a long time for the boat but it was nice.

The CM's could not have been nicer. We cannot wait to stay here again in just 4 months!

Pros: size,new rooms,friendly cast members
Cons:

Stayed May 30-June 3. From the moment we got off the Magical Express, everything was perfect. we did on-line check in and we were off to the parks in a matter of minutes.I would NEVER stay any place else. We were in building #5. Perfect location to get to everything. Pool was a great place to unwind for a mid day break then off to the parks again. The longest we ever had to wait for a bus was 15 minutes and only shared the bus with Riverside twice. The food court was nice and never too crowded. We were on the regular dining plan and were easily able to feed the 5 of us with 3 QS credits. The boat to DTD was peaceful and nice. We will be back.

Pros: Grounds, rooms, size, staff, and transportation
Cons:

This is a great resort! We stayed here from May 23rd-27th. We arrived at 10:00 am on the check-in date and to my surprise our room was ready! The renovated rooms are very nice, new bathroom appliances that are clean and a stylish new tv. I only asked for a standard room and we were placed in building 4 which is right next to the food court and the bus stops, very convenient! (Although the resort is not large at all so it seemed like all buildings were just a short walk from whatever you need.) The grounds are very beautiful and there are many spots where you can just sit and chill out away from the crowds.

The food court was good and never really that crowded. There are also two bars that are a nice addition- the pool bar and the scat cat's lounge, a nice stop on your way to or from the parks.

We also found the bus service to be great. The only time we waited for a long time was on our first day to Epcot. The bus was almost full with all of us at the French Quarter stop. There are four stops at the Riverside resort and during slow periods the the two resorts share a bus. On our way to Epcot we stopped at Riverside but hardly anyone could get on. I think the resorts figured out this issue early on because that was the only time we shared a bus with Riverside or waited more than 10 minutes for a bus.

If you are considering the moderate resorts, I would definitely advise you to stay at French Quarter, it has all the amenities of the moderate resorts and isn't a huge, crowded place. In fact, every night that we made our way back to the hotel I would feel bad for the Riverside folks whose line for the bus was so long they could probably fill three busses!

Pros: small
Cons: pillows

Stayed here from May 19 to 22. We had room 3011 and 3012. A newly renovated room close to the action. Although it's a small resort so most rooms are close. We LOVED the new room and location the only problem with the ENTIRE facility were the pillows. they were VERY hard. Will stay here again! Just bring our own pillows. Wink Enjoy.

Pros: Friendly staff; small, cozy resort; authentic theming
Cons: None

Our trip was May 9th to the 13th. We were excited to see the renovations so we chose a room with 2 queen beds. The colors were reminiscent of the Mardi Gras colors - very rich. The flat screen TV leaves a lot more space on the dresser. I loved the new counter area at the sinks - so much easier to organize the toiletries. When we arrived there was a Mickey Mouse sticker on the counter but it was gone the next day with a change in Mousekeepers. I loved the subway tiles in the bathroom. Having a brand new bathroom was awesome.
We also enjoy the staff in the food court at POFQ. They actually smile and say hello when you get near them. They seem to really enjoy working there and it makes a difference. The pool, as usual, was clean and everyone was having a good time. The playground had been redone since our last visit and looked great.
We spent two nights at Scat Cat's club (in 15 trips to this resort this was a first) and we had a wonderful time. Elliott Dyson asks names and celebrates your occasions with everyone in the audience. And, if you will play along, you can be part of the show all night.
We found this resort in 1995 and have stayed there for most of our trips to the World. We have had up to 13 family members with us and the staff is very accommodating with a large group.
Bus service during low volume times is shared with Riverside but it was not a problem.
Food in the Sassagoula Floatworks brought back fond memories of New Orleans but also offered hamburgers, pizza, salads, etc.
Our next trip is in August and we will stay at POFQ.
