Pros: Big portions, house made chips
Cons: Beignets and Po Boys aren't the real deal (but still okay)

The tuna sandwich was good, a big portion, and the house made chips were awesome. The po boys and beignets need help, but are still pretty good. (The beignets tasted like funnel cake, which we also like).

Pros:
Cons: food

Worst dinners ever. We tried everything while we were there, and it was the worst meals we have had. Would not go back for dinner or lunch.

Pros: Beignets
Cons: none

While staying at Riverside, we walked over the French Quarter TWICE to use the pool (which is more little kid friendly) and eat beignets! They really are THAT good!

Pros: not very crowded
Cons: slow service

We stayed at the POFQ April 22-27 and went to the food court several times. I have to agree with an earlier reviewer who said the service was quite slow. The food is adequate...it kind of reminds me of school cafeteria food. We started calling it "the cafeteria" during our stay.

One specific item I will comment on are the beignets. EEEEWWWWW...do not waste your money. If you have ever had beignets at Cafe Du Monde in New Orleans, please do not eat the ones here. Here is a tip...buy a box mix and make your own or get a can of biscuits, cut them in half, fry them and cover them with powdered sugar...they will be a hundred times better than the ones here.

Pros: Never that crowded, fast service
Cons: Mickey Bar not on the menu but they do have them!

Now I can only rate the snacks and service as I didn't have any of their counter service meals. I have been to many of the counter service food courts at the Disney Resorts and I really liked this one. The staff is friendly and they keep that food court very clean unlike other places like Pop Century which is where I stayed last. The service was good and I never had to wait very long. I don't recommend going there 15-45 minutes after the parks close as that is when I found it to be the most crowded with everyone coming back on the buses. Also they don't list the Mickey ice cream bar on their menu but if you ask for one they have them in the freezer. So at first I was kind of mad but then found out they had them after all so I was back in happyland again lol. Also the beignets are good too as are many of their desserts. It's a nice little food court in a convenient area at in my opinion Disney's best moderate resort. They also have free wifi there too in case you need to check your email or upload your Disney pictures!

Pros: location
Cons:

We went here during off peak times twice. Selection and service is adequate. Exactly what I expected for a resort counter service.

Pros: make your own salad
Cons: don't know how to fry shrimp

We were at FQ from 1/2/12 through 1/8/12. The salads we made for ourselves were very good. The ingredients were fresh with a decent choice and the chicken was well-flavored. The shrimp choice just had no eye appeal. would not recommend the creole burger as the shrimp was soggy with grease. My husband scraped it all off as well as the sauce, added mustard and thought the hamburger part ok. He had thought the Angus burger at the bottom of the list was part of the kid's menu so now knows better. The warning, I guess I extend, is that there are 'minefields' and so scrutinize your choices. Let's also say that the servers were not a smiling group and I am usually sucessful in getting that smile...but nope not here. If this was my only criteria for choosing the French Quarter, we wouldn't be back.

Pros:
Cons:

We had a quick lunch here. It's pretty much what one would expect from QS dining. The one time we ate was off peak so it wasn't crowded and things moved quickly. I had the Shrimp Poor Boy and my niece had the kids grilled cheese. The food was just average--I think her grilled cheese was better than my sandwich. They do take the AP discount which is nice. The best part of the meal were the beniets! Love having those to end the meal or in the evening on the way back to the room.

Pros: There weren't any pros
Cons: Everything

If the people working here, and I mean at every single window, moved any slower they would be going in reverse!I watched one girl pick up one chicken nugget at a time and place it ever so slowly in the styrofoam box. You'd have thought she was creating a sculpture of some sort! When she finally carried it to the pick-up window, a nugget fell on the sticky dirty counter, and rather than offer to get another nugget, she picked it up in her hand and tried to re-arrange it back on the pile. When I refused, she looked astounded. The beef po' boy took an eternity, and looked nothing like the display, but rather like something I might feed to my cat, or perhaps, something the cat might catch for himself. It actually tasted like tuna, so after one bite, I left it alone. Next, we moved on to the dessert fiasco, where our order of beignets was delivered with a speech about how they were actually "smaller than normal, because they were cooked wrong. Well, not wrong, but just for too long. But they should be fine." They turned out to be over-fried hollow postage stamps dusted with confectioners sugar. We won't be returning!

Pros: Quick, tasty
Cons: None

For a food court, this was not a bad time at all. We had a couple of dinners there, the pizza, the pasta, the salads and a burger. It was quick and tasty and the cast were great!

Pros: Food
Cons: Size, most desserts

We ate here for lunch on 10/4 while on the DDP.

The little place was pretty dead for lunch and not crowded at all, but I know from staying here before that if you get there too late in the morning its a madhouse.

My Dad got the cheesesteak with carrot cake as a dessert and I got the shrimp po' boy with a chocolate cupcake.

I guess the cheesesteak my Dad had was pretty good as he didn't complain about it. I asked him what he thought about the carrot cake and he said the icing was really sweet. I personally don't like POFQ's cookies or their carrot cake and chocolate cake. The cakes are way too sweet and processed tasting and the cookies are hard and nothing to write home about. Surprisingly, my cupcake was lite and not sickingly sweet. My shrimp po'boy was nice and big and had really good flavor, though I was a little put off that the shrimps on the po'boy are not deveined.

If you're staying at the resort or are in the area I'd definitely recommend this place. I really don't think variety is a big issue here at all and find that they actually serve a lot of things other than the normal burgers, nuggets and hot dogs, including plenty of things you can't find at other resorts like the po'boys, muffalettas, beignets and gumbo.

Pros: nice theme,
Cons: variety, unorganized,

We stayed on FQ 8/31-9/5, There were 3 of us and FQ is our normal place to stay.We used the food court mostly for mug refills and for feeding a teenager between meals. I found the grab and go section rather bare, there was nothing more than yogurt, fresh fruit and wine. The bakery portion was slow, they seemed disorganized. We had a Tree Nut allergy and it took 3 different people to get an answer on the safety of the baked goods. The next day they did have the pre packaged items out that were safe. Why didn’t they have them out all along?
They weren’t even offered as an option when we asked. The Pork po’boy was purchased one day, its just a pulled pork Sammie but it was a good size and I was told it was good. The chicken nuggets were pretty decent, I was able to sneak one before the teenager inhaled them all. We tried the Beignets( first time in a long time) and found them ok, they were just huge pockets of air inside the dough. Lots of powdered sugar, wear white if eating them. Being we don’t use the FQ food court often it wasn’t too big of a deal but if we did then I’d choose another resort for variety. As commonly said the check out came be long and its crazy when crowded.

Pros: Good selection of food and Benets
Cons: can't think of any...

We have stayed at the POFQ before and decided to take a day trip over there to take the boat to DTD. Decided to eat here for lunch and bring back old memories. Great food court, friendly people and the Benets are the awesome. I had the Quesadilla and DH had the shrimp Po-Boy. More than enough for lunch!

Pros: selection and proximity to entertainment
Cons: size of food service area inadequate

We stayed at PO Riverside and wandered over to French Quarter for dinner one night (April 2011) and were pleasantly surprised to discover a great must-return place! The walk to French Quarter from Riverside was short and very pleasant. Once there, we were delighted with the large range of choices in the food court area - anything from burgers and fries to a spicy chicken pasta and ribs (lots of people seemed to be eating the latter!). The food was quite good - however, the service was slow - partly due to the fact that the service area is so small - a crowded circular area that made forming lines at opposite ends difficult - and too few staff at each station - and their work areas looked even smaller! It took a long time to get some of the food, which meant that whoever got theirs first, had a cold meal by the time the last of us got ours! The upside is that the live entertainment was in the adjacent hall and the man that evening was absolutely fantastic! Lot of talent and very entertaining!

Pros: low crowd level, kind staff
Cons: small selection

My family & I got to stay at POFQ for the first time. Loved how much smaller and easier it was to negotiate the food court as compared to Pop Century. But, smaller resort = small selection. The shrimp po-boy was so good though. It was the first thing we ate on this trip and the last thing I got when we were leaving the resort at the end!
