Pros: Nothing stellar
Cons: Very limited menu

Visited 9.15.09: Menu is very limited and service was somewhat poor. We had an early seating, and the place was empty so no reason for bad service. Meals were okay and desserts were fair. I would not return even if I was staying at the resort.

Pros: Nice Atmosphere, Pleasant Staff, Cornbread really good
Cons: Food Only Okay,

My husband and I ate here on August 29, 2009. We decided on this restaurant because after a long plane ride and traveling to the resort from the airport we really didn't want to get in the car again that night. Honestly, I almost changed this reservation before we left home because after reading the reviews I thought it would be a waste of a table service credit. My husband put his foot down and we ended up eating here.

I ordered the chicken and waffles with a side of collard greens. My husband ordered the slow roasted prime rib. The chicken was flavorless and almost inedible. When I tasted the collards I couldn't put my finger on the funny taste in them. Then I finally realized that they were made with bacon. This did not add to the taste. It just made them taste weirdly smokey and off. I ended up eating the waffles that came with the meal and the cornbread that they brought to the table. Much like other people have stated my husband's steak was very fatty and nearly inedible.

Dessert was the bright spot. At least for my husband. He really liked his individual apple pie. I found my berries served with lemon pound cake to be exceedingly dry.

Overall, we walked away paying for a meal that we ate, maybe 20% of. Not a very good value for the money.

Pros: freindly waitress, staff, desserts, convientent location for resort guests
Cons: food inconsistent

Cornbread was great. Husband had buttermilk fried chicken which was piping hot, but utterly bland and tasteless (and he doesn't like his food spicy). I had prime rib which was fatty, part that wasn't was fine (about a 1/3 of it was edible) and I enjoyed the wine sauce that came with it. Got 3 cheese hash brown potatoes which everyone liked and kept picking off of my plate. Can't remember what my daughter had, son had typical nuggets and fries off of kids menu and was happy. Desserts - pecan pie, chocolate cake and some banana fosters type cake were fabulous. I agree with last writer that with so many other good choices (like at Epcot), I would not dine here again. We ate here 1st night because we were too tired to go anywhere else and had DDP for free. With a little tweaking, this could be a really good sit down resort restaurant. I have heard no one likes the jambalaya. Disney, PLEASE change the recipe. I hope someone who works in Disney's kitchen's reads these reviews. Just because guests are too tired to leave the resort is no excuse for mediocre food. (especially for those who are paying for it!)

Pros: service, environment, crayfish bites
Cons: food was only okay

This was our first time at Boatright's - indeed our first time at Port Orleans. The facility is very nice and the staff were terrific. We arrived early for a 7:30 reservation and the place was packed but we were seated by 7:15.

Our waitress was very pleasant. It started off okay as I very much enjoyed my crayfish appetizer (one of the best appetizers I've ever had in Disney) and my wife got a huge salad that she shared with my daughters.

The main courses were well below what we've come to expect from Disney. I had the jambalaya which was not good at all. It was tasteless, no spices, no flavor, no nothing. My wife had steak that she was not happy with as well. My daughters each ordered the penne pasta which they both said was just okay. In addition, our waitress forgot our drink orders and yet added them to the bill. That was quickly corrected however. She apologized and insisted on removing them from the bill and giving us drinks to go.

Overall there are better options out there. There are so many wonderful restaurants both at various hotels and in the parks that I can't recommend Boatright's.

Pros: Food was good
Cons: Service

I hate to rate this restaurant so low since we have eaten here before and loved it, but the service was not up to par this visit. Apparently, our server forgot to put our order in, so it took 45 minutes for us to get our food. He did bring a complimentary bowl of soup for us and admitted his mistake (which I thought was refreshing), but with two children who were tired at the table, the experience was just not that pleasant.

Pros: Good Food, Reservations were right on time
Cons: Size of Portions

We ate here on August 21st. Our reservations were for 5:25 and we arrived at 5:00 P.M. and were seated by 5:05 P.M. The food was excellent, both my wife and I had the steak. We were there on the DDP, which means we did not have to pay HOWEVER... We did have to pay for our son who is age 2 (though other places did not make us do that). The portions were very small, but again very good. The free corn bread was very good too. The over all vibe of the place was nice. Quiet, which we liked.

Pros: Atmosphere was okay, waiter was very thorough
Cons: Waiter took a long time to greet us, jambalaya

We were at Port Orleans and I wanted jambalaya! The waiter was honest in saying that he did not feel is was on the top of his list. I should have listened!!! In the bottom 10% of all jambalaya I've ever had.
My wife had beef tenderloins that were very good. The crayfish appetizer was very good. Both kids liked their meals.
Next time, I need to listen to the waiter.

Pros:
Cons:

We ate here on the last night of our trip and made the trip over from our hotel (Wilderness Lodge) because my Mom liked the pecan pie on the menu when we were picking for reservations. It was a nice meal and our server was great. I made a special request on my meal (switch sauces) and had no problem- it was very good. We would eat here again. I did notice it was not very busy.

Pros: food, service, short wait time
Cons:

We had a really nice meal here at our home resort; I wouldn't want to travel here for it but for us, it was fantastic--filet mignon was great, as was a risotto dish and the desserts. Best of all--no wait!

Pros: Wasn't too crowded or noisy
Cons: The food wasn't great

I took my girlfriend to Disney for New Year's Eve this past year. We stayed at PO Riverside. I booked our first dinner here figuring it would be a long day and might be nice to just hang out and relax a bit after a long day of travel and amusement (I also surprised her with a horse and carriage ride which was very nice and romantic). The restaurant was empty at 6:30, which I thought was odd since that is the busiest week of the year. She thought the food was good but after a few other meals that week it became our least favorite meal of the trip.

If you are staying at PO and are looking for a meal on site, then I would suggest eating here. But if you're going to go out of your way to eat here, I would suggest going somewher else.

Pros: accomodated us last minute and nice atmosphere
Cons: standard meal not remarkable but still ok

On our last night - after a VERY rainy/crazy week - there was no way we could face getting on a bus and going to our last table service meal on the dining plan. We were staying at French Quarter and decided we might as well try it and they were able to accomodate a reservation for 7 last minute. We had a really nice/short walk from French Quarter along the river - really pretty. On the way back took the boat and it was very nice. - The atomosphere was relaxed and very good service. The menu was pretty standard and we all ordered something different. Nice selection of New Orlean beers we enjoyed. The food was nothing specacular but was a nice warm, relaxing meal at the end of a long week. I would give it a 7/8. For convenience factor this is a fine place to eat if you are staying at Port Orleans Riverside or French Quarter. If you staying elsewhere there are better selections.

Pros: Service
Cons: Food

My two seven year old boys, my wide and I ate here on April 10th our first day of our holiday. Our service was excellent, with our waitress very efficient, friendly and the food came fast.
My wife had the steak medallions, and I had the prime rib. Both cuts of meat were not of a high quality, and were done very blandly. The potato dish was good but quite salty.
This was the only negative experience we had over two holidays eating at a table service restaurant.
My advice would be to use your credit else where, and limit your Port Orleans Riverside dining to the quick service cafeteria.

Pros: friendly server
Cons: food

We ate here on 4/18/09 for my husband's birthday. We had reservations for 6:00PM, but we were in MK at 5:00 and not ready to leave yet. I called them and they said they would put our reservations on hold and we could show up whenever we were ready. That was great! We were staying at POFQ so we rode the bus from MK back to our hotel (so we could freshen up a bit) and then we rode the boat over to POR. Our server was really sweet and attentive; however the food really wasn't worth the price. My husband and son both had the prime rib. I had the steak medallions. My daughter had the salad with chicken off the kids' menu. Nothing really had much flavor. We all decided that the food didn't live up to the price. There are so many more great restaurants at WDW to choose from. I only would recommend this one if you are tired of the food court or just want the convenience of eating at your resort if you are staying at POR. Myself I would stick to the food court and save your money.

Pros: Good service, great food
Cons:

This was one of our best meals at WDW, right at our resort. It wasn't too crowded, and the timing of the service was just right. Friendly, too. I wish POR had breakfast or we would've eaten there more often. They had a lot of soul food offerings, like waffles with fried chicken. I had the crawfish which were great as an app, and unfortunately, I don't remember the entree. If I don't remember it, it must have been good. DH got steak which he struggled to finish-- and he has a big appetite! If you are staying at POR, it's totally worth eating there.
