We just got back from our second stay at POP. We had a great room in the 60's building facing the lake. A beautiful tree obstructed our view of the desolate buildings across the lake. It was very nice and clean. Last year, during our first stay, our son had to be driven to Celebration Hospital via ambulance. The resort manager came to our room and stayed with us the entire time until he was loaded in the ambulance. She told us that they would pay for the ambulance ride and for the cab ride back. They were so nice and even followed up the next day with us, offering to bring him anything he needed. Luckily we didn't have that happen to us this trip, but enjoyed our stay just as much! We'll be going back.

The rooms are small but they are clean and we only slept here. We enjoyed the food court and the friendly staff. We never waited more than 10 minutes for a bus. Enjoyed having park purchases delivered to the resort.
Our daughter got sick in the middle of our stay. The front desk was so helpful. They told us who to call to get our prescription filled and had them deliver it to Pop Century. They called us when it arrived. Thank you for taking care of us!!
We will be back!

This is our second time staying a Pop. We love it and would continue to come back. The first time, we had a preferred, room which was wonderful. The second time, we had a standard room while it was nice, it was very far away from every thing. We asked for a preferred room but there was none. We will take that into mind when booking again. This time the bowling pin pool was kind of dirty, they took a test on some brown muck at the bottom and said it was nothing. I doubt that. They should have older adults doing testing and not the younger people. Other than that, it is a wonderful resort!!

Poor housekeeping

Just returned from a quick weekend stay at Pop. It was good but we definitely had some negative experiences. We arrived to check in around 7pm Friday night. We had requested a room with a king bed and mentioned this upon check-in. The girl insisted there wouldn't be one available and actually asked if we wanted her to bother calling housekeeping to ask. We of course said yes which seemed to put her off. While on hold, she continued to tell us that there are only 40 rooms there with king beds and the odds of getting one were extremely slim. Not surprising, she said there were none available after she got off the phone. The room we were given in the 50's section was okay- moderately clean, though. One of the beds was basically short sheeted, with the mattress pad sticking out on the bottom and the pillowcases were stained.
We called the next morning at 7am and somehow, there WAS a room with a king bed available. We packed up our stuff and it was moved while we were at Epcot. We returned to shower and change before dinner and found that the room was handicapped-accessible and had a roll in shower. Not a big deal but the entire bathroom floor got drenched and we used all the towels cleaning it up. We returned much later that night and called for more towels at 11pm. By 12:30am, they still had not arrived and housekeeping was quite rude when we called twice to check on the status. We even asked if we could walk over and pick them up and were told no. We ended up having to shower with the same wet towels from earlier, which was awful. We did mention it to the manager upon checkout the next day and he was apologetic and did give us a discount but it was definitely a very un-Disney like experience.

Just returned from a weekend at Pop Century. Generally we stay at Riverside, and I wasn't expecting much at Pop Century based on the experiences of colleagues at the Value Resorts and various things I had read. Boy were we pleasantly suprised! The rooms were smaller, and there was only one vanity compared to the two at the moderates, but for just my daughter and I there was plenty of room. I had been warned about the noise. We did not find the resort particularly noisy at all. We stayed in the 90s building and my daughter loved the Rubik's Cube in the room. I found the various stations at the food court to be more organized than those at Riverside (to be fair there is more open space at Pop though), and we never had a problem finding a table. At prime time in the morning this can be a real challenge at Riverside. My daughter also loved the mints left by mousekeeping each day, and we were welcomed with a certificate announcing we were the family of the day. I'm sure everyone get this, but it was a nice touch. I also used the on-line check in option, and this area was easily identified at Pop. It hasn't always been that way at Riverside. Everything was very well organized, and the main mall area was easy to get to from our building. One downside was the bus stop. There is only one. After seeing the long lines of guests waiting for buses, we decided to drive to the parks instead. If we had been there longer, we may have tried out the bus service to see how it went. The other "downside" was the location of the resort seemed so removed from the rest of WDW. At Riverside you feel like your are a part of the World, and in the middle of everything. Oh, and we were sorry we didn't get to take the Hustle lessons! Maybe next time! Again this resort was a pleasant suprise, and we will be back.

We just returned from a 6 night stay at Pop Century - 10/31-11/5. I checked in online and all of my requests were granted - quiet area and not in the 50's section as I'd stayed there twice before. We were in the 70's section and in general it was very quiet. The food court was manageable, although sometimes a little crowded, and except for the vegetable lo mein that contained no vegetables, all of the food was very good. The computer pool was being refurbished while we were there which turned out to be a good thing as the laundry facilities associated with that pool were available with no waiting.
We had a car, but rode the bus to the parks about half of the time and did not have to wait more than about 10 minutes, most of the time less.

distance to Magic Kingdom

Just came back from a 10 night stay at Pop. Overall, I was quite pleased with the experience. I was traveling with my DDs ages 11 and 2. We had a room on the ground floor in the 50s section and were quite happy with our location. The girls enjoyed the bowling pin pool and my 2 year old got a kick out of the nearby giant Lady and the Tramp icons. They didn't seem to have as many activities taking place at the main pool as they did at ASMu during our stay there last year, but they did host a Halloween party on 10/31 with trick or treating stations around the Hippy Dippy Pool.
Our room was clean enough and when our mousekeeper realized that I was coming back in the afternoon to let my 2 year old nap, she started cleaning our room earlier in the day.
I would say the biggest drawback was the distance to Magic Kingdom. Had it just been my 11 year old daughter and I traveling, this would not have been an issue as the proximity to Hollywood Studios would have been an acceptable trade off. However, with a toddler in tow, I would consider staying somewhere a bit closer to MK.

This is a great place when you need to have a bed while staying at WDW. It is comfortable and a great value. We stayed here Oct. 3-10th and the only negatives would be the check-in/check-out process can be slow. With so many rooms, there should be more Cast Members available for the "high" times of the day when people are checking in/out. Otherwise, this is a great place to stay and if you like being with other families...this is great. We stayed in 3716 and it was quiet, comfortable and well worth the value. You can get better accommodations elsewhere but if you are just looking for a bed, this is a great place. Second time staying here.

We stayed at Pop Century from 10/22 to 10/25. I was a little hesitant about staying there as we have always stayed at a Moderate resort, but will now not hesitate to stay again. The cast members were VERY helpful with everything. Mousekeeping was wonderful! We have not received towel animals our last 3 trips (2 to the CB and one to CS) but received 5 on this one. The room were comfortable and clean, you're only there to sleep. after all. The food court was busy in the morning, but the quality was very good and the staff friendly. My son LOVED the icons and the pools. Our room requests were honored, We had requested connecting rooms with an adjacent room on the 1st floor in building 5 ( that's the Lady building. The only negatives were that the towels were a little thinner than we were used to, but mousekeeping provided us with plenty. We all agreed that we would definititely stay at Pop again! And as Florida Passholders. we're frequent flyers to the "Diz" as we call it.

We stayed for the second time at POP October 16-23. Once again, we were thrilled with our choice. For the money, there is nothing that can beat it.
We never found the Food Court unbearably crowded, and we ate at all times of the day and night. The buses were great, as we never waited longer than 10 minutes our entire trip. Mousekeeping did a fantastic job, and even left us two towel animals.
We did stay by the pool, but the noise level was never an issue. Sure, you may here some plumbing noises from the other rooms, but this is a very minor inconvenience. The staff was unbelievably friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere is just plain fun.
The only thing I can see that needs some improvement is the online check in service. I ended up waiting on line longer for that than the other guests who did not use the online service. I think they need to streamline this one a little better.
Overall, a fantastic Disney experience. I can't recommend POP highly enough!

My favorite value resort, being newer than the others. The decor is fantastic to see and take pictures. It's location seems to be a bus ride of less than 10 minutes to everywhere but the MK(about 18 mins).

Husband and I stayed at Pop 9/26 - 10/3/09. Never stayed at a Value resort before and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. All cast members were friendly and helpful (front desk, reservations, gift shop & mousekeeper). Room is clean and comfortable. Beds were nice. We had requested a king bed and lake view. They couldn't accommodate the king request but gave us lake view in a preferred building. Excellent location and would consider paying the extra for it, other buildings can be a bit of a walk. I definitely would stay away from poolside due to noise of powerwashing in the mornings. We never heard a thing from the other side of the building.
Food court is always crowded and chaotic but the quality was good. Mousekeeping was great. Buses so good that we started joking about them always being there when we got to the stops. Only time we waited more than 10 minutes was going to visit friends at All Stars while several buses left for Pop while we waited! Loved Pop.

Pop Century was great. We had a preferred room so we were close to the main building. The transportation was easy. Sometimes there were two buses for the stop. Although we did go when others had there fall break it was very smooth. All the cast members were very friendly and helpful. Will stay there again!!!!!!

Loved everything about this place, stay here all the time!! OK, not real happy with housekeeping: they don't dust the room, even after calls to management. Even after a 'heart to heart' with a housekeeping manager who has his own allergies, I still couldn't get a dust rag run around the room daily. Besides the fact that dusting is generally considered normal routine for a chambermaid, I was there for two weeks in the same room. It should have been habit by the 3rd day. Still, no, I sneezed and wheezed for 2 weeks...no thanks to any housekeeping staff member, maid or manager.

We stayed at Pop century from 10/10 to 10/17. We had a great time and would stay here again, but would maybe like to try a different hotel next time for variey sake.
The rooms were fine for 2 adults and a 4yo. Everything was clean, the pillows were thick and the beds were comfy. I heard the usual noises associated with a large hotel...nothing bothersome at all.
Also we rented a refrigerator and that was not a problem, regardless of whether you reserve one online you need to let them know upon check-in that you want one. The on-line check-in was easy and there was no wait for our key/"ticket to the world"
We were located in the 60's section which was convenient to the hippy pool, the buses and the food court.
We didn't have any problems with the buses although its true that the bus stop at pop is not covered so waiting in 96 degree weather was hot.
The food court was very busy in the am and not too bad at lunch and dinner times. I think general confusion regarding the meal plan causes some of the hold-ups and crowding in the food court area.
The pools were fun and not crowded at all. All in all a great place to stay.
