Pros: Cleanliness/ Food/Great Cast Members/Mousekeeping
Cons: Pool area Cleanliness

We love everything about Pop Century but on this visit, I must complain about the Duck poo and how it was never cleaned off around the walk ways to the rooms closest to the pool! It stunk, We got ill everytime we had to leave or entered our room. I was surprised because the pool area was & always has been so clean! Because of our grandson's age we won't be going back to Pop, we will just return to the Deluxe resorts! For this reason only I give Pop a 8 this time! Watch where you step!

Pros: Nice rooms, theming
Cons: busy food court

Beautiful resort, lovely theming. The rooms were very nice and ample for 4, mousekeeping was excellent. The only complaint was on the food court/lobby. Maybe there should be two for a resort this size? Every time we went in, no matter what time of day or night, it was insanely busy and the noise was deafening. We found ourselves walking around the building rather than going through, just walking through was an ordeal. Otherwise, it was a lovely resort and we had a wonderful stay.

Pros: Price
Cons: Size

I stayed at POP Century for the first time on Friday , September 30. I stayed there alone and the room was the perfect size. I can see how it would be crowded if there was a family staying there. The resort itself was so unique. The details were amazing. I was worried about the size of the property because the reviews all say that it's a large resort. I was in the 70's building with a lakeview. The walk to Classic Hall was no more than 5 minutes and I was taking pictures as I went. Transportation was not an issue. I ate breakfast at 8:00 on a Saturday morning and the lines were not too bad. Overall, I would recommend staying here. My first value resort and I liked it.

Pros:
Cons:

We stayed at the Pop Century Resort from Sept 25- Oct 2nd. We loved our stay, we were in the 70's building which is right beside the main building. Bus service was fast and always got a seat on the bus. Mousekeeping was excellent. Room was always clean and we always had enough towels. Staff were all helpful and friendly. Would definitely stay here again Smile

Pros: Disney Themed
Cons: long walks

We stayed at Pop Century Sept. 17-Sept. 24 and had a wonderful time. It IS a large resort, and there is alot of walking, so be prepared. We loved all the themed decor inside and out. Our room was a little small, but how long are you really in your room for other than to sleep? Our housekeeping did an amazing job cleaning everyday we were there. The only thing was that when we checked in and received our "key to the world" card, the guy did not add our park tickets to the key, so...when we arrived at Animal Kingdom, our cards were not valid. A quick trip to guest relations they were able to confirm that I did have tickets and let us in. Other than that, the place was wonderful. Food courts were a bit busy at times, but that's to be expected. We had a great view of the lake from our room too!!

Pros: Everything
Cons: 1 time bus issue

My DH, DD(4) and DS(1) and myself just returned from our stay at Pop Century. We were there from 9-23 to 9-26. I did the online check in 10 days prior thankfully we checked in within 5 minutes of arriving on property. We checked in 2 hours before the actual check in time and our room was ready. We requested a room in the 60's building, lake side. We did not get our request but we had no problems with the room they put is in 8323, in the 80's building. We parked and had no problem parking front row every time.

Our Pack N Play was not in the room when we got there so I called to the front desk and one was delivered shortly. Everyone was very nice and helpful. We shopped in Everything POP a few times it was never over crowded. We never had a problem with dining in the resort either (we only ate there one day).

We only had to wait one time for more than 15 minutes for a bus and that was at Animal Kingdom headed back to POP (we did get a little aggravated when there was a driver dropping off from POP and wouldn't pick us up and take us back because he was "drop off only"). We waited for about another 10 minutes and another bus came and picked us up (it was early in the day and we were the only people waiting). We used all forms of transportation and we loved all of the experiences. I would say if you are going from resort to resort, drive your own car. It's much faster and you don't have to wait =)

The pool we used was never over crowded. Mousekeeping was extremely nice. All of the washers and dryers (to my knowledge) were working properly did not have a problem there.

I must say I was worried after reading some reviews on here that the room would be too small. That was not true. Our room was perfect size we did not have any problem with that. All in all VERY good visit will visit again. Hate we had to leave. 3 days is just not long enough.

Pros:
Cons: nothing

Me and son stayed Sept. 8-16.Check in was fast. They had our room ready for us. This was our first time here an we had such a great time. The staff were so friendly and were always there to help me an any (Q?). We stayed in the 90s with the computer pool outside our room, very close to the bus stop. Never wait more then 10 min for a bus. Hollywood Studios was like a 2 min bus ride, well that what it felt like, lol. The food court had lots of great food. We ate there 4/5 times. Over all, POP is a great place to stay. I'm looking forward to going back next year.

Pros: Theme, price,
Cons: crowd in dining area even at 11 pm

My husband and I stayed at POP from 9/9- 9/18. We were in room 9222 in the 80's building on the second floor facing the parking lot. I loved the location and was glad we didn't get a preferred room near the pool. At midnight there were tons of people in the pool. We hardly heard anyone go by our room and it was a 2 minute walk to the bus or food. Mousekeeping was great. For a value resort, we thought it was great. Plenty of buses, comfortable bed, and that Disney feel. Did not feel were got any less service being at a value. Only complaint was there were lots of people in the dining area very early and very late. Lots of cranky kids way past bedtime and this is the only place we noticed people being rude. other than that a fabulous time and would absolutely stay there again.

Pros: Clean rooms, lots of new things for families to do at the resort
Cons: none

Well, 6th time we've stayed at the Pop, and as always, a great time indeed! And with it being our 32nd wedding anniversary, THANKS to the resort for the flowers in our room, DW LOVED them!

Clean rooms are a must, and again everything was spic and span. Fridge was not in the room when we got there, but a quick call to the front desk had it there in minutes. The decor in our 60's room had posters from movies from that era, as well as wallpaper to match. King size bed was comfy. And you can get all the info you need on the resort, parks, etc. on the TV.

Disney has added family games by the pool area that start about 1:00 PM and last until about 6:00 PM, which is great for families. They have also added nightly movies outside (free) that change daily. While we were there they played Cars, Tangled, and many more. Fun to grab a chair and watch the movie with a beverage from the food court. Old favorites like dancing the hustle are still there, so fret none previous guests.

The front desk is always helpful and smiling, which is something I cannot say for the top-end resorts. I guess that's one reason we prefer the Pop to others such as the Contemporary, where the feeling is more staid and the smiles are few and far between.

If you are looking for accomodations that are value-priced as well as clean , with a real outgoing Disney feel, you cannot beat the Pop.

Pros: price, theming, clean, friendly staff
Cons: big resort

My girls and I stayed here in December 2010. We were in the 90's building. It was close to the parking lot and to the main building and buses. The room was very clean. I felt I got my moneys worth. The staff was very friendly. It was too cold to swim, so we didn't visit any of the pools. I would definitely stay here again.

Pros: Good value, Food court selection, Friendly staff
Cons: Laundry room

We recently stayed at Pop Century for nine nights. We were in building two, in the 50s section. We had two, connecting rooms, which I had requested.

The staff was friendly and efficient, housekeeping was good (our room was always clean and we had enough towels) and the bus service was decent. The only time we had a really long wait for the bus was when we left Magic Kingdom at closing. But, since it was closing time, all the bus lines were full, so I don't blame that on Pop Century.

My one complaint would be the laundry room. Doing laundry at Disney is always challenging, the laundry room is always crowded, but three of the eight washers in the laundry room were broken the entire time we were there, making getting the laundry done even more difficult. Since we were there for nine nights, it would have been nice to see at least one of the three washers repaired during that time.

We will definitely consider staying at Pop Century again, though.

Pros: Price, theming, pools
Cons: Small rooms, double beds, long walk to food/buses from some locations, no towels at pool, not hot tub

Thanks to Hurricane Irene, my family and I ended up starting our vacation a day early. We decided to try the Pop Century for one night, because we'd heard so many wonderful things about the resort from friends.

Here's what we liked:

* The theming was just plain fun! Loved exploring the grounds, reminiscing about the good old days, and checking out the cool pools.
* The price was right! It would have cost us twice if we'd stayed for just one night in a moderate.
* The Pop was clean and the staff was friendly.

Here's what we didn't like:
* Our room was tiny and so were the beds. We really felt this, because we did spend quite a bit of time in the room. We were tired and the weather wasn't great.
* The Pop doesn't provide towels at the pool. We had to use the towels from the room. That said, the Pop staff quickly replenished the towels upon our request. I could have seen this becoming an issue if we'd stayed longer than just one night, because we like to use the pool.
* The resort is large! I called at the last minute and had to take what was available (the 90s), which was a fair walk from the bus and the food.

All in all, we enjoyed our brief stay at the Pop and would stay there again. I think the Pop is perfect for a short visit, given the size of the rooms. Also, I think that it would be worth the money to pay a little extra for a preferred room.

Pros: pool activities, theming, food, outdoor movie, clean
Cons: for some people: too busy & crowded, full beds

We loved Pop Century even more this time and we spent more time there this trip. I tried to make this trip more relaxing for my DH.

Our room was clean and comfortable, I will say it is not a huge room and they are full beds, and it was more comfortable for one us to sleep with our DD7 for the space.

They have added even more activities around the pool and Classic hall. While we would be in line for questions or whatever, there is a DJ spinning tunes with hoopla hoops for the kids. DD7 loved it. The kids TV room is the best one I have seen anywhere in WDW. They have added an out door movie in the evening we saw "The Princess and the Frog", they give you a towel to sit on and some people brought pool chairs over. It was a nice way to end a Disney world day. They have also added tons of poolside activities.

We had the Basic Dining plan so we ate more breakfasts at food court. In most cases, my DH and I could share a platter, and get a kids meal for our DD. I did figure out about half way through the trip that quick service are really split by adult and child's meals. We liked all the food, on the dessert side the tie dyed Cheese cake is worth the trip.

My DD and I were walking through the classic hall and came upon the food hall staff doing the hustle, so we joined in, it was fun they gave us direction left 1,2, back, slide etc. After the song, we were given buttons that said "I had a Poppin good time doing the hustle" which I wore all week. I even tried to teach Aladdin and Jasmine, after they asked about my button (PIN).

Basically we loved the POP.

Pros: price, pool
Cons: small room, poor housekeeping

Staff at check-in were very pleasant. We stayed in a preferred room in the 60's. The room was small. The door almost hit the first bed. When we arrived, we checked the room. We found hair in the shower and children's hair clips next to the bed. They also forgot to give us the refrigerator that I had requested 3 times, verbally and on-line, before check-in. They did get it to us within an hour after I complained. The next morning, we were out of the room by 8:30am. We returned at about 3pm and our room had not been cleaned. We went out to the pool until about 6pm and still nothing. Housekeeping completely forgot us! And I didn't have anything on the beds or floor that would have prevented it. My young kids loved the main pool and the buses were fine. We waited for less than 15 minutes each time.
